HTMSAE - Chapter 132 < It’s not that moment yet >

Ines still grabbed the rope wrapped around one wrist and turned it around, wrapping it around Anthony’s neck. Anthony instinctively started pulling hard to free the rope around his neck.

At that moment, there was a loud crashing sound from one side. Soon, Marcus was seen being pushed by the enemy and hitting his back against the wall. If someone was guarding the door, they would definitely come in.

As the enemy swung his sword at Marcus, he quickly rolled his body and went behind the enemy.

Ines held her breath and stared at the door while holding Anthony’s neck, but fortunately, no one came in. Perhaps they thought she had made a loud noise while resisting Anthony.

Anthony, who had been frantically pulling the rope around his neck, writhed violently and threw a punch. Ines was hit in the stomach, but she didn’t back down at all. She wasn’t the type of person to flinch at this level of violence.

When a loud noise came from the other side, Ines reflexively turned her body slightly to look at Marcus. Then Anthony, without missing the moment, ripped off Ines’ hand that was holding her neck.

“Ugh.”

He grabbed her neck and bent down. He took a deep, painful breath, then grabbed her neck and started coughing.

Ines rushed to wrap the rope around his neck again, but Anthony reached out to Ines like a demon. Just when she thought she would be caught, Marcus came up with a broken table leg and struck his head. When Marcus looked at the man he had been fighting, he saw that the man had collapsed with a dagger stuck in his side.

“Are you okay?”

“Yes, I’m okay. Is he dead?”

Ines asked, looking at Anthony who was lying on the floor, and Marcus put his hand on his neck. Then he shook his head.

“He’s fainted. It wasn’t a murder knife, so if they find him early, he won’t die.”

Ines felt a little relieved. They had no intention of condemning themselves, no matter what kind of sinner they were.

“Would you please untie the rest of the rope? I need to tie up the Prince’s body a bit.”

Marcus said, pressing his knees against Anthony’s back to keep him from moving.

“Ah.”

Ines looked down at her wrist. The rope was still wrapped around her reddened wrist.

“I see.”

She tried to untie the remaining knot with her free hand. But the thick rope wouldn’t move as she wanted. Marcus, who was watching, got up from Anthony and approached Ines.

At that very moment, Anthony suddenly stood up. He immediately took his sword from his waistband and swung it at Marcus.

“Ugh.”

Marcus, who had been hit by the sword, stretched his body like a bow and fell to the side.

“Marcus!”

While Ines looked at Marcus, Anthony stood up straight and aimed his sword at Ines. Seeing Marcus unable to move properly, he spat out the saliva that had gathered in his mouth.

Fortunately, Marcus, though frowning and in pain, did not seem to be fatally wounded.

“How did you sneak in here?”

Anthony looked around in fear. The person Anthony was afraid of was probably Carson, who had already found this place. The hand holding the knife was trembling. His eyes showed no sign of composure.

“Are you ignoring me too?”

He swung the knife at Ines, who did not respond. At first glance, his hand movements were clumsy, but the man in a frenzy was fast and violent.

Ines quickly backed away from him. Then, she tripped on something and fell to the floor.

Anthony’s eyes lit up when he saw that, and immediately a sharp sword flew at her. However, Ines immediately bent down further and pulled the rope taut. The rope caught his ankle and pulled it.

With a thud, Anthony fell to the floor. The sword he was holding fell to the floor, and in the process, she felt a dull pain as if it had cut somewhere in Ines’ body.

But Ines did not stop. She quickly moved her body and pressed her knee against his back, then put a rope around his neck.

Gasp, Anthony held his breath and froze.

“Anthony von Raymond.”

As Ines’ low voice called his name, Marcus got up and grabbed the sword that Anthony had dropped.

“You should have listened to your mother. Didn’t you hear my nickname?”

Anthony twisted his body and protested, but Ines did not move.

“I am truly sorry.”

Ines whispered in Anthony’s ear. It must have been her calf that had been cut by his sword, as Ines’ blood flowed down Anthony’s back.

After Joseph died on the mountain of Landhill, Ines promised herself that she would never threaten anyone like this again in her life.

But Ines was always ready to join hands with the devil to get to Carson.

She tightened her grip on the rope.

“Your mother doesn’t know how the Prince trembled under me.”

Anthony’s eyes widened and he struggled to breathe.

“But don’t worry. I’ll tell you right before the former Empress is hanged.”

Ines gave him a final warning as he turned pale and looked at Marcus. Then, Marcus put the sword he was holding to Anthony’s neck. Ines slowly took the rope away from his neck.

“Ugh.”

While continuing to hold Anthony down with her knees, Ines dragged his hands and tied them tightly with the rope herself. She could tie an unbreakable knot with her eyes closed.

In the meantime, Marcus tore the bedsheet and gagged Anthony so that he wouldn’t scream for help. Ines, completely free from the rope, looked at Marcus.

“Are you okay?”

He nodded, sweating profusely. After confirming that Anthony’s body was completely tied up, Ines examined Marcus’s wound.

“It would be impossible to climb down the wall from the second floor in this condition.”

Marcus also examined Ines’ wound first, not his own. If Ines wasn’t more insensitive to pain than others, it would have been difficult for her to stand properly.

“I’m okay. I can walk without any problems.”

“Yes, you should be able to go out to the balcony and go to the next room. The gap between the balconies is quite large, so you should be careful.”

Ines tilted her head.

“Marcus?”

“Your Majesty, it would be better to escape first.”

“What do you mean?”

He looked away from Ines and calmly answered while examining her wound.

“It’s as you heard.”

“I won’t do that.”

At her firm voice, Marcus finally looked into Ines’ eyes. His face looked angry.

“Yes, I thought you would say that. But you also said this just a moment ago. Don’t waste two lives on something that could save one.”

If there was a commotion inside, people would rush into the room. Marcus was too injured to get over to the side anyway.

So it would be better to let Ines escape and do his best to prevent them from pursuing him here and then die. Marcus decided so.

“That’s right. I said it clearly.”

Ines looked Marcus in the eye and pulled hard at the rope that bound Anthony’s hands. Anthony sat up.

“And when that moment comes, I will keep my word.”

Anthony was still panting as if in pain. As he moved his body around, Ines pulled hard at the rope that bound him and said firmly,

“But that moment is not yet.”

And she handed him over to Marcus. Ines walked over to the man Marcus had killed without hesitation and pulled the sword back out.

The feeling of pulling the sword out of a person’s body made her hands tremble, but there was nothing she wouldn’t do to save her man. But even so, he did not forget to drag the bedsheet and stop the bleeding at the waist of the fallen man.

“What are you planning to do?”

“We will use the Prince as a hostage and escape from this house.”

“But!”

“This is the best way for now. I will not accept any other opinions.”

Marcus shut his eyes tightly. A pain greater than the sharp wound on his back weighed on his chest.

He watched Ines moving quickly here and there with her injured leg. She would never give up. She was the woman he loved, but at this moment, he resented her temper.

However, there was no time to delay any longer.

“If you do, I will take the path toward the warehouse.”

Ines nodded. The problem was just getting out of this room.

“Put the knife to his neck and keep walking. I will look around from behind.”

As she spoke, Ines worriedly looked at Marcus’s back. Although it did not pour out in a rush, blood continued to seep out wetly from his back.

Looking at the sight, Marcus shook his head as if to tell her not to worry.

“I’m a knight and a senator. I won’t die like this. I just don’t have the strength in my body.”

“Still, we need to stop the bleeding as soon as possible.”

“If you go to the warehouse, you’ll find the wagon I snuck into. For now, getting out of here is a priority.”

The two locked eyes and nodded. Anthony continued to move his body, but his movements were slow because the sword was close enough to his neck.

Ines whispered to him as if warning him. If he didn’t get out of there, she would definitely put a sword in his throat.

When he opened the door, the man guarding the door looked surprised. Fortunately, only one person was guarding the door. At first, he aimed his sword, but when he saw the sword thrust into Anthony’s throat, he hesitated and pulled back.

As Marcus had said, the security was not tight. Ines watched to make sure no one else would rush in from behind Marcus.

About ten men appeared here and there, but when Marcus put the sword to Anthony’s throat and saw the blood, they could not come any closer.

Feeling threatened for his life, Anthony shook his head desperately and blocked their approach.
