KFBRV - Prologue

 Prologue

If you were to ask who the most beautiful woman in Barceha is, all the people of the empire would unanimously answer Odette.

If you ask who the most wicked woman is, the answer would be Odette.

As the sole Purifier of the Empire, she enjoys all sorts of privileges but never purifies the Transcendent.

She is the greatest villainess in the Empire.

***

Pale white skin that makes your veins shine through. Turquoise eyes that resemble a midsummer beach. Platinum blonde hair with a lemon tint.

A beauty wearing a silk nightgown covered in lace looked out the window with lifeless eyes.

As the ecstatic sunset turned the sky red, Odette felt more miserable.

"...It's okay. You held on yesterday too."

The most glamorous flower in the social world, the greatest villainess in the empire. However, compared to her reputation, her monologues were quite insignificant.

She is in a situation where she has to try to overcome her fear, even if it means muttering intimidation.

Because her father will be coming up soon to give her an injection.

"It won't be hard."

She tried to pretend to be calm and fool herself, but it didn't work.

Because of her limbs. remembering the pain Mengele inflicted, were already beginning to tremble.

The green poison, which mimicked the scent of the Purifier, tasted like a wasp.

If she takes that medicine, her whole body will swell up and it will itch unbearably as if she had been stung by a poisonous wasp.

How long were the nights when she begged to die in such terrible pain? Mengele's suffering never got used to her and only worsened day by day.

"Don't shake... please..."

But she had no other choice but to endure it.

A that moment, thump, thump, she heard her father's footsteps coming up the stairs.

Odette wrapped her arms around her skinny shoulders. Fortunately, the trembling subsided before the door opened/

Bang!

Count Albrecht opened the door without knocking or saying hello and entered with a displeased expression.

"....You're here, father?"

Odette, who raised her body. bowed deeply toward him. It was an attitude more likely to be taken by a lowly maid than a daughter.

"Be quiet. I', not in the mood to be greeted by such insignificant things today."

The Count scolded her and nodded to the butler who was standing behind him.

Then the butler rolled up the sleeves of Odette's pajamas.

"There's nothing I like about you. Aren't you ashamed to see your brother?"

The Count, having said so, plugged a long needle into her arm.

Her thin arms flinched in pain at the reckless action.

Boom. Boom.

The green liquid flowed stickily through Odette's veins.

She gasped and bit her lip as her milky white arm swelled up and turned blood red.

'The pain is worse than usual.'

"Ugh..."

The Count raised his eyebrows as a groan escaped her lips.

"You're faking it again! It's annoying to have bad habits."

'It's strange. The pain is different than usual...'

Odette couldn't' hear her father's words clearly.

She's been taking this medicine every day for three years, but today her reaction was different.

All the heat rushed to her head, and her limbs felt like they were falling apart. Her lower abdomen boiled and froze, and a cold sweat ran down her entire body.

Odette's consciousness gradually faded. Her heavy breathing gradually became quieter, and eventually, with a thud, she lost consciousness and collapsed.

The Count looked down at her with a look of disgust on his face and said.

"Tsk, I guess you can't hide your shallow bloodline."

It was at that moment that he was about to order the butler to drag Odette away.

"Cough!"

Odette, who had been as quiet as the dead, came back to life, breathing heavily and spitting out blood.

"Cough, cough!"

Odette, who had been spitting up blood for a long time, caught her breath and slowly raised her head. The Count, who met her gaze as she looked up at him, couldn't help but hesitate.

Odette's turquoise eyes, which had always been timid, were filled with indescribable emotions.

As if she was someone else.
