THYU - Chapter 123

After Hayel got a little excited and left, Violet finished her statement to the officers in a calm manner. Only then did she feel like resting and entered the hospital room where Winter was.

Even though Hayel paid for the best hospital room, she was not satisfied, and due to Jen's insistence that she could not let her little lady sleep on a makeshift bed, they even bought a new bed and placed it in the hospital room. The bed was going to be donated to this hospital when she left, so the medical staff did not stop her.

Winter, who seemed ready to wake up at any moment, was unable to open his eyes for three days, leaving Violet withered.

Hayel briefly entered the hospital room and reported to Violet.

"Little madam, I found the document Lord Carlson mentioned."

"Thank you."

Hayel shrugged his shoulders and spoke in a deliberately cheerful voice.

"But I don't think the little lady has the energy to worry about this yet. How about keeping the documents at Kanik until the CEO wakes up?"

"Is that okay?"

"Sure."

After Winter fell, Violet, who always cherished the people around her, felt even more grateful for them.

In addition to Hayel, Jen, and Flip, who couldn't have survived without him, Winter's subordinates have been coming in and out of the hospital non-stop for the past three days. The hospital rooms were filled with the fruit baskets they brought, and unknown donations came in day after day, making the hospital more luxurious in real-time.

She said with a smile.

"My husband needs to know how much he is loved."

"It may not be love, but I would be grateful if you could pass on our hard work to the little lady."

Hayel wanted to comfort Violet, so she left the hospital room feeling anxious. When the room became quiet, Violet felt anxious that Winter would never wake up, so she sat down on Winter's bed and cupped his hand. She muttered, looking at her hands.

"Look at this, Winter. There is such a difference so... You have to be strong. That makes sense."

After saying that, Violet leaned down and looked down at Winter's face with kind eyes. Every time she spoke to him, she felt her pulse heating as strong as the setting sun of winter. Everyone would say it was an illusion, but Violet knew it and believed It.

"Wake up. Because I'm lonely."

She complained about something she rarely did.

"You always tell me you sleep a lot, but you sleep all day."

She murmured and gently kissed Winter's forehead.

"Get some sleep now, Winter Blooming."

Violet said that and went back to bed. After that, Violet, who had her head in Winter's direction for a while, fell asleep.

***

At first, most people kept quiet thanks to Hayel, but as Winter spent longer in the hospital, people began to have questions one by one.

At the northern villa where the succession ceremony ended, the party continued for several days. About a third of the people there were the southern nobles, the Warhosons, and their leaders were the Duke and Duchess of Blooming.

Like the Heston family's succession celebration party, parties where nobles from all over Rockround gathered together also became a place for power struggles. Aside from the fact that the Lawrence family and the capital nobles centered around Ash Lawrence were centered around the royal family the southern nobleman Warhoson and the northern nobleman Bowness had a sense of rivalry with each other.

When it came to the question of which had more Influence, the two groups' answers differed. Warhoson, whose wealth was centered on fertile territories, and Bones, who iner eased his power by protecting the northern frontier where wars were frequent, tended to look down on each other.

However, it was the nobles of Rockkround who never showed that on the outside. The fun of the party was to laugh when they ran into each other and wonder if there was anything they could find fault with.

During this power struggle, a servant whom James had sent to the hospital came running to the Duke and Duchess of Blooming.

"The little master is still not awake."

"Still?"

James felt a little sad because he felt that Winter was his bloodline. Catherine, on the other hand, had to barely hide her joy. The people of the Blooming family, who were trying to make a profit by appointing Winter as his successor, had no reason to make such claims once he lay down. Only then will her son, Diev, be able to continue the family line.

Catherine, who realized the joy on her face at that moment, put down the teacup she was holding to fix it.

"I have to go see Winter, James. I might never see his face again."

Then the servant said with a puzzled face.

"But little madam... She told me that even if you came, you wouldn't be able to enter the hospital room."

Catherine looked shocked at those words and spoke as if people far away could hear them.

"How can she never let the parents see their son's face?"

Then a nearby Warhoson man spoke.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm sorry to say this, but given the circumstances, I have to say it. It's all a legacy issue."

The woman next to him cautiously agreed.

"That's my opinion too. Otherwise, why would parents not be able to see their children's faces?"

"She has no shame, she left her husband for a year on your own."

Arms bent inward, the Warhosons began to whisper, coming to a conclusion to suit the Duke and Duchess of Blooming's tastes.

The Duke and Duchess of Blooming were very pleased with this situation. Catherine said to her friends.

"I don't think they will let the mother who came to visit go in. I want to come see my son right now."

"What kind of trouble is this for you, Madam?"

A feeling of pitiful worry bubbled up. Catherine, being honest with herself, thought that it would be good for Winter if he could not keep his eyes open, and prepared to go to thr hospital.

Originally, she wasn't that kind to Winter. The reason she was tied to Winter was because Violet manipulated him into aiming for the position of successor, so Catherine was making it clear who she was responsible for.

***

Violet, who had barely fallen asleep, suddenly opened her eyes and raised her upper body at the sound of a distant commotion.

She wished the noise had come from her husband, but he was still lying down, and the noise was coming from outside the hospital room.

"Get out of the way right now. How dare something so lowly stand in my way?"

It was Catherine's voice. No matter how much Hayel tried to silence her, it was bound to happen that news of Winter's collapse would reach Winter's parents' ears, whether through an article or a police officer.

Violet didn't have the slightest desire to leave, but she couldn't let the employees suffer.

Without any choice, she knocked on the door and Flip, who had been blocking it with his whole body, opened the door. After Violet got out and closed the door again, she turned to face Catherine.

"My husband hasn't woken up yet. Please come back later."

"Violet, I need to see my son's face."

Catherine spoke in her elegant voice as always.

Violet looked shocked upon discovering the Warhosons she often saw at the tea party, who had come with Catherine. Even though the Duke and Duchess of Blooming lived on top of Winter's monumental tower, it was not meaningless for them to show favors by holding tea parties every week.

Then, when a man who would be detrimental to the authority of the Duke and Duchess of Blooming feII, people flocked to them as if something good had happened.

Violet's heart sank as she thought about her husband, who must have grown up surrounded by wolves wearing aristocratic masks, eager to take just one more hit.

Since Violet didn't move, Catherine continued.

"What are you doing?"

"Because my husband's condition is bad, we can't have many people in the hospital room."

"It's okay for me to go in. I want to see my son's face."

"When he wakes up, I will allow you to visit him then."

" How can you be so cruel."

Catherine said with a pitiful face. Then Violet continued speaking without blinking her eyes.

"You shouldn't come here like this. Everyone, please go back."

"Where can I go with a sick child? I guess I'll have to stay here for a while."

At Catherine's words, Violet faced her with a face where all emotions and even fear disappeared.

"If I, his wife, ask you to leave, wouldn't it be polite for you to leave?"

The Warhosons looked shocked at her words. Violet was so calm that no matter how she looked at it, she felt sympathy for Catherine, who had a hurt look on her face. Violet continued calmly.

"No Ma'am. She said she would kick her son out of her family, but she was afraid that she would harm her husband because she didn't want him to be the successor..."

When she said something that others should not know, Catherine's hand flew out and hit Violet hard on the cheek before she could finish speaking. At that moment the hallway became quiet, and Catherine opened her eyes and spoke.

"There are things you can't say, how on earth can you say that to your mother!"

Violet, whose head was turned, then did something she thought she would never be able to do even if she died and woke up again. Her hand fell from slapping her cheek just as Catherine had done. Not only the Warhosons but also her employees held their breath at Violet's actions. Catherine was shocked and cupped her cheek with her hand.

"Yes, how could you... For the entire three years after their marriage."

Violet was a plaything for Warhosons to chew on at parties. Even when people booed her, she just lowered her head like a criminal.

Catherine was more shocked than angry when she slapped her. In her Judgment,  Violet was never the type of person to use violence.

At that time, the silence in the hallway was broken and the hospital room door opened.

Winter, covered in cold sweat, stood with a painful expression. He opened his eyes like a ghost at the sound of his wife being hit, and since he was in no condition to walk from the bed to the door, he clutched his bandaged stomach and, unable to bear it, rested his head on the door frame.

Tears immediately poured from Catherine's eyes.

"Winter!"

She wrapped her hands around Winter's arm.

"Are you okay?"

Winter, who had ignored Catherine's tears and kindness that had captivated his heart over since he was twelve, looked at Flip standing by the door with a pained face.

"Who hit whom now?"

Then Flip reported right away.

"Madam hit Little Madam, and Little Madam hit back."

"Don't lie, our Princess used violence?"

"Yes."

"This is not the world I knew. It must have fallen."

Winter muttered in a rough voice, pushed Catherine away, and sat down against the door frame. He then pulled on Violet's stiffened hand.

"Are your hands okay?"

"..."

"They should all be fired. What did they do to hurt our Princess?"

Violet's shoulders trembled as she looked down at Winter, who was joking calmly while his blood vessels were popping out from holding back the pain.

"...You bastard."

Winter giggled at Violet's words.

"Look, you indeed got sick."
