THYU - Chapter 56

It was a story that started out to be fun, but as it ended up being a sad story, Violet's expression became somewhat glum. Winter, who belatedly read her expression, immediately spoke to her.

"Still, there were many umbrellas that customers forgot and left behind in the restaurant. Instead of cookies and milk, I cut up the bread I received and left it behind."

"I see."

"When I woke up the next day, the bread was gone. When I was young, I thought a house elf took it and I liked it, but when I think about it, it was probably an opossum, which is common in the South, that took it."

"It's kind of you to cut your portion and give it to the house elf."

"I'm lonely, so if I catch a house elf, I'm going to raise it. It was bait."

Winter mumbled something, not sure if it was a joke or serious, and took a sip of alcohol to quench his thirst. And there were no words.

Violet crossed the door again and sat down in front of Winter, hugging her knees. Then Winter said, leaning slightly towards her.

"Stop feeling sorry for me and go to sleep.'

"I didn't say it was pitiful."

"But why are you doing that there?"

"Because you look lonely."

At her calm words, as usual, Winter looked at his wife for a moment, then silently emptied his glass and poured a new drink.

Then Violet held out her hand and asked.

"Can I have a sip too?"

Fortunately, Winter handed her the glass. Violet took a sip of the vodka and she handed it back to him.

After repeating this several times in turns, Violet, who was weak at drinking, quickly became drunk and buried her face in her knees. Soon Winter put down his glass and picked Violet up in his arms and laid her on the bed.

Her eyes were half closed as if she would fall asleep at any moment. Winter muttered as he looked down at Violet, who was adjusting her clothes, wondering if she might have become disheveled by such a topic.

"You're elegant even when you're drunk."

"I wasn't very drunk."

"You're drunk. It's a topic I can't even open my eyes to."

"I fell asleep..."

"Why did you drink so much in the first place?"

As Winter asked, Violet struggled to open her eyes and looked up at him.

"You drink too fast."

"..."

"I'm trying to make you drink it slowly."

While Violet was talking, she couldn't stand it anymore and yawned. And then she just fell asleep.

Winter looked down at Violet, who was breathing softly, with twinkling eyes. He felt fortunate to be here tonight despite the heavy rain.

When Violet woke up late in the morning. Winter had fallen asleep under the bed, and there was an empty bottle of alcohol in front of him. Violet picked up the bottle and shook Winter, freaking out.

"Winter, are you sure you drank all of this?"

As his body shook, Winter groaned in pain and turned away from her. Violet didn't give up and went to the other side and sat in front of Winter again.

"What if you drink all of this? It's strong."

"Drink as much as I should."

"Then it's a more serious problem."

Winter, who barely got up after hearing her nagging, checked the time and asked, squinting as if the sunlight was dazzling.

"Did you give me medicine by any chance?"

"No, once in a lifetime is enough."

"That's strange. I can't believe I slept so well."

"If you drink this much, you don't fall asleep, you pass out."

"You are very sincere in your criticism."

Winter literally got up and left the bedroom, listening with one ear and out the other. As he said, Violet followed him faithfully and continued to nag him.

"Don't run away, listen carefully. What if you drink all the alcohol in such a large bottle..."

Violet's eyes widened.

Winter suddenly turns around, bends down, and kisses her. It was a kiss so passionate that she couldn't even imagine it happening this morning, under this bright sunlight. Violet panicked and grabbed Winter's arm. Winter, who kissed her until her body relaxed, immediately made an excuse.

"Do not be angry. It was the first time I met my biological mother since I was five and I was sad."

Violet's clear eyes were instantly filled with all kinds of emotions as if what he had said casually out of fear of being slapped and asked what he was doing had worked well.

Winter's mouth widened at her expression. He finds it cute that she follows him around and worries him like this, but in a mean way, he just wants to make her worry more and more.

Violet pursed her lips and spoke.

"Are you okay? Anyway, we promised to kiss each other three times. Instead, there is only one left."

"I keep that in mind."

She barely resisted the urge to just keep looking and turned around to open the door. As expected, there was a basket of croissants, morning rolls, and biscuits in front of the door. Violet asked as Winter came in with her.

"You really got room service here?"

In this situation, it seemed like anything he said would only lead to more nagging, so Winter didn't respond, but took a silk tablecloth decorated with cream-colored lace from the basket and replaced it with Violet's tablecloth. Violet said in amazement as he skillfully adjusted the angle and set it up.

"Wow, you are good."

"What if the guy who runs the hotel can't set the table?"

Violet's mouth flowed over the soft, buttery croissants and morning rolls brought for brunch, freshly baked in the morning. In the center of the table setting, a centerpiece made of wild grass, which Violet always placed, was placed again. Winter said, setting down a plate of four Corsican-style iams with arched handles.

"From here, butter, honey, apricot and apple jam."

Lastly, a perfectly shaped white soft-boiled egg that Violet had not seen in the past year was placed on the table.

Winter drank boiled coffee with plenty of sugar as usual, and Violet drank black tea for breakfast. Winter beckoned Violet's cup, which had been deliberately brewed with black tea below boiling temperature.

"What flavor do you drink lukewarm?"

"So you have dull senses? You always drink it too cold or too hot."

"Therefore. What does it taste like to drink lukewarm food?"

Since the two couldn't come to an agreement on their drastically different tastes, they decided to just accept it even though they couldn't understand each other.

Moreover, Violet was feeling generous to the freshly baked bread she had not seen in a long time. First, she cut the small croissant in half and took one in her mouth. She took a sip of her tea and ate the other half, then smiled happily. On the other hand, Winter put down the bread as if he couldn't eat it anymore. Then he immediately got up and got ingredients from Pim's house. He didn't say much because Violet now knew that the family next door would have enough money to cover one month's expenses.

However, she was curious about what he would make.

"What are you going to do?"

"Southern style seafood stew. It's usually eaten during hangovers in the South. I haven't tried it."

"It's spicy."

"I wonder."

Violet couldn't eat spicy food at all. The slight sting on her tongue was painful and she pushed the plate away. The Southern-style steamed seafood made with spicy peppers was sure to be spicy for her.

Southern-style seafood stew was quick to make because it was the main dish at the restaurant where Winter was being exploited. At that time, he ate so much that he stopped eating for a while, but as he got older, he started to look back on the things he used to eat when he was younger. In particular, when southerners drink alcohol, they eat spicy Southern seafood stew as a hangover.

As Winter began to expertly prepare the seafood, Violet watched with a curious face.

After the cooking was over Winter started peeling the shrimp with gloves on, Violet said.

"It's food that requires a lot of work."

"I'm having to do a lot of work because you can't do it on your own."

"I can do it if you let me know."

When she answered with a prick, Winter narrowed his eyes and scolded her.

"I'm proud. I can't even call you Princess like this."

For the first time, Violet was left spee
chless at the sound of a Princess.

After a while, the prepared seafood was filled with the pot. Violet, with round eyes, looked inside the pot and admired it.

"You're really good at cooking."

"Even after living alone for a year, you still have no interest in household chores."

Winter was determined to drag this Princess to Rockround. He thought she would know how to do anything after living alone for about a year, but she didn't do any housework, not even during Winter, whose secret hobby was to iron his clothes meticulously.

Winter clicked his tongue and for some reason, he brought two pasta bowls and put some steamed seafood in them. He confirmed in advance that he bought two since they were only sold in sets.

Violet was somewhat full, but for some reason, she had an appetite, so she tried a little bit of the red soup with a spoon and said to herself in surprise.

"Oh my God, it's spicy."

Then, blinking. Winter picked up the shrimp he had prepared to eat and put it in her mouth.

"Wow, it's very delicious."

"I know."

Winter found Violet's surprised reactions one by one cute and laughed, but tried to keep a firm expression. Violet was as quiet and polite as always, but her lips were bright red and her eyes were watering. She'd never swallowed anything stimulating before, so it was erotic and lovely to see her whole body react right away.

In the end, Violet, who finally calmed down after drinking milk because it was too spicy, opened her mouth.

"You're the one who should cry, but I'm crying."

"I'm thankful you cried for me."

"You cry too."

"I cried all the time. It's enough."

Winter muttered as if talking to himself.

For the past year, he felt like he was living on a thin board in the deep sea. The board was ready to split at any moment, and the ocean of death continued to wrap around his ankles. Yesterday, when the board completely broke and his body was sinking, Violet held his hand. She was always on top of her, she liked holding hands, and she wasn't the type of person to leave someone drowning.

There were enough arguments, both physically and theoretically, for her to hold his hand.

There was silence between the two for a moment, and then Lina came running into the house. When the child found the two people, as if it were natural, she brought over her own chair and sat down. She asked.

"I came because I was curious about what the scary man-made. Is this it?"

"Yes. Oh, it's going to be spicy for Lina, so would you like some bread?"

"No! I can eat!"

Lina spoke excitedly and ate a spoonful of steamed seafood with a spoon. She then tilted her head and said.

"It's only a little spicy? Delicious."

"Yes? It was very spicy..."

"Violet, you can't eat spicy food?"

When the child asked, Winter said teasingly.

"She can't even eat spicy food, she can't even eat shrimp."

"Even though you're an adult?"

Lina looked at Violet as if asking how she could do that. In response, Violet gave Lina bread and milk with an embarrassed expression and changed the subject.

"Lina, do you like bread too?"

"I like it."

Lina answered like an adult and began to munch on the bread. Lina asked Winter, as if she suddenly remembered while was eating something so delicious that she was so absorbed in it.

"But what is your job, scary man? All the adults in the neighborhood are curious. Uncle Coron says you're probably rich because of your profession."

"That's accurate."

"I think you're the Prince."

Winter, who was looking at the child with his chin resting on Lina's serious analysis, laughed.

"That is sorely wrong."

Lina's eyes widened at his cold answer and she looked at Violet.

"No? Even though he's scary and cool?"

"Hmm."

Violet thought about the answer for a moment, let out an exclamation as if she understood, and spoke.

"Could it be that his identity is a secret?"

"Ah! I guess so!"

Lina was convinced and nodded. Then Violet, as she often did, cupped Lina's chin with both hands and looked at Winter, and she said.

"For your information, being rich is not a type of job."

In the meantime, because it was so wifely to point out mistakes, Winter burst out laughing while resting his chin.
