TPITT - Chapter 7

''That's right!''

What Cedella chose was a soft cream-colored silk material, which was used as a skirt.

It was a dress with small leaves elaborately embroidered at the ends of the sleeves.

The dress with green accents with a slight lime color.

It went well with blonde hair.

''The key is what you do with your hair. I'm worried. The 3rd Princess overflowing with her elegance and the 8th Princess armed with loveliness. You have to confront them at the same time, right? Because if you lean towards one side, you will definitely be compared to that side. I think it's important to strike a balance between elegance and loveliness in the middle.''

''Yes. I have no intention of going toe-to-toe with one side yet.''

Although each person's field of thought was different, the solemn feelings with which they approached the morning greeting were the same.

I actively cooperated with Cedella, unlike usual, where I preferred to keep decoration to a minimum.

In the imperial palace, the center of the political and social world, dressing up was a duty, and how well that duty was fulfilled was determined.

Accordingly, the way I see my surroundings changed.

'I have to work hard at whatever is necessary.'

I decided to conform to the physiognomy of the imperial palace.

So, I searched through my past memories and pulled out information that could be used for decoration.

''Hmm, Cedella. Brigitte has thick braids. I think she will wear her hair in a bun, and I think Rosie will wear voluminous twin tails tied down."

"Shall we trust your intuition? If you have hair that can accommodate both feelings without overlapping the styles. How about braiding the side hair into a half ponytail and adding waves at the bottom to emphasize its loveliness?''

''Yes, good."

On top of the whitened skin, the area around the eyes, cheeks, and lips was dyed a light pink color.

After finishing her makeup, the beautiful Princess, looking fresh and healthy, blinked her amber eyes in the mirror.

Lastly, it was time to choose accessories.

Normally, I would have finished decorating with just a light green garnet necklace and earrings, but not today.

''On days like today, I need to borrow some help from my mother. Cedella, bring me her mother's treasure chest. Let's decorate with that.''

''Yes. Let’s decorate it properly today, Your Highness.’’

A treasure box the size of a small cookie box was filled with cute stones and accessories neatly stored.

I picked out only the gems that had a pomegranate color, almost pink.

''Insert as many hairpins as possible.''

Like a person whose goal was to make my body as heavy as possible, I wore many accessories here and there.

There was something to do next.

''I think His Majesty has a bad headache these days. I need to prepare some tea that is good for relieving headaches.''

''Your Majesty will really like it. The tea you made is really delicious.''

Combining tea, or ‘tea blending’, was my hobby.

I went to the pretty wooden workbench that looked like a combination of a dressing table and a bookshelf.

There, various tea leaves, flower petals, fruit pieces, etc., carefully dried and cut by myself, were preserved with magic.

It was placed in a hanging tin case.

In the cupboard under the workbench, a tea-blending recipe that I consider as trivial as an alchemy research book is stored under a security spell being guarded.

''There's not much time left, so I need to make it quickly.''

Among the recipes that were said to be effective in relieving headaches, I chose the one that caught my eye first.

I weighed and mixed the ingredients as instructed in the recipe.

The tea, with its faint scent of lemon balm, was placed in a pretty glass bottle and wrapped in a velvet bag.

''Let's go now.''

The eastern palace where my room was located was where the Princesses stayed.

Emperor Desmond II had 10 daughters. Thanks to this, as soon as I went out alone, I was able to meet the Princesses often.

''Evienrose greets Isel. Did you sleep well?''

''Hello, Eve. Why did you make it all up? I almost didn't recognize you because you didn't have that stupid pigtail.''

When more than two digits of people gathered, order and rules were bound to arise.

According to the laws of the imperial palace, the lower-ranking royal family in the line of succession to the throne is given priority first.

I had to approach, say hello, and receive a reply before I could leave.

I was thirteenth in line to the throne, so whenever I encountered someone, I had to be the first to bow.

''Meet Stefania. Good morning...''

''Uh, hi. I'm busy so I'll go.''

By this time, I had already become an outcast in the imperial palace.

It was routine for the older Princesses to pass by without even receiving a greeting.

I remained unfazed and waited for the Princess with blonde, wavy hair to move away from behind me and then raised my head.

Cedella whispered indignantly on behalf of me.

''It's too much. Where did she even reply? If the sisters pass by pretending not to see us, we have to stay still.''

In fact, in my last life, I was often harassed in that way by the older Princess or the Prince.

One time, the Crown Princess Brigitte seemed so determined that she spent half a day on me in the winter.

There were times when I left it alone.

It was said that it was possible to keep warm using magic, but it was very humiliating to punish me while the other Princesses were watching.

Beside me, Cedella continued to express her anger.

''Her Highness the 6th Princess says so, but even the maids who follow Her Highness follow Her Highness. It's too much for the maids to pass by without even seeing Your Highness.''

''How did you see that? You bowed your head like I did.''

''Even if I lower my head, I can see it clearly. When it comes to anything related to Your Highness, it seems like I have eyes in the back of my head.''

''That's amazing. It's an ability comparable to gaze magic, right?''

While I and Cedella were soothing our upset through small talk, we reached the entrance door.

As I went outside the palace, I was greeted by cool yet sunny spring weather.

It had been a long time since I returned from living in a closed room for a month, so it had been a long time since I felt the sunlight pouring down on my body.

I was momentarily lost in emotion as I took the monumental step into a new life.

It was time to walk down the wide marble road, stepping vigorously with the heels of my shoes.

Before I could even walk a few steps, someone was holding my ankle.

''Oh my, sister!''

"...''

''Sister Eve! Sister!

"..."

My expression almost hardened.

‘Rosie!

The person who desperately called for me in a voice like an oriole was Rosenit.

The time has come to face the killer sooner than expected.

'Phew, let's calm down.'

I took three deep breaths before I could calm my expression and look back.

''Sister!"

I looked back.

Rosenit wearing a light pink dress. Today too, she was showing off her beauty to the entire palace.

Cedella saw this and whispered a small admiration in my ear.

''Your Highness the 8th Princess really has her hair in pigtails. Your sense was correct.''

''...''

I stared at Rosenit, who was gradually getting closer.

''Sister Eve!''

Lovely from head to toe. As the honey-blond beautiful girl, who seemed to be herself, came closer, my amber eyes darkened.

'Did you die? Ah, you're finally dead?'

'Now it's just me. Michael and the Empress position are all mine! Ahahaha'

My shoulders trembled slightly because of the creepy voice that came from somewhere.

‘Rosie, you were loved by everyone and you had everything you wanted. You even had Michael's child. The position of the Empress was already yours.'

Rosenit, blinded by the desire for exclusivity, sought to solidify her position as the one and only member of the royal bloodline. She poisoned me. She murdered her blood relatives just to increase her own value.

'She pretended not to go into politics. She was a very political and scary kid.'

If I hadn't regressed, I might have become a demon out of resentment. It was such a relief.

Before we knew it, the real Rosenit was standing right in front of me, smiling brightly.

''Hello, sister?''

''...''

''Huh? Sister? Why are you looking so intently?"

I came to my senses and responded naturally.

''Why... You're so pretty today.''

''Oh my, thank you, you...You put a lot of effort into dressing up this morning.''

It was a vague compliment.

Come to think of it, Rosenit has never once called someone pretty or handsome, even if it was just an empty comment.

''Anyway, why are you walking so fast? I called you so many times, but you pretended not to know.''

According to imperial palace etiquette, it was rude for a lower-ranking member of the royal family to call from a distance of more than five steps.

In the past, I would have pointed this out gently with the heart of a sister wishing her younger sister well. For me now, there was no family affection for that.

I appropriately changed the subject.

''Rosie, are you on your way to say hello to His Majesty Father in the morning?''

''Yes. Today is the day you say hello too, right? Let's go together.''

"Yes. But there's a group of people I haven't seen before.''

I glanced behind Rosenit.

There was a young man with a polite yet expressionless face.

He was a handsome man with long silver hair wearing the uniform of the Imperial Guard.

'If it were a silver-haired homunculus knight...'

I felt like I knew who it was, but I waited for Rosenit to introduce me.

''My name is Sylvestian Millard. I am a homunculus knight of the Imperial Guard. I requested an escort to the main palace.''
