TIPHLMD- Chapter 1 < Prelude To Revenge >

“It’s blinding.”

The old Emperor stared at the woman sitting in the bedroom, his mouth open.

She was a very beautiful woman.

She was a woman with soft silver hair and clear green eyes that seemed to fit comfortably in his hand. Her white and pale skin seemed to glow, and her lips were as red as freshly bitten pomegranates.

Even the Emperor, who was tired of looking at women, was dazzled by her beauty and lost his mind.

After appreciating her for a moment, the emperor lost patience, moistened his tongue with his dry lips, and placed his hand on her dress.

“I heard you are twenty-one this year. It is when a woman is most beautiful.”

Seliya felt like all the food she had eaten yesterday would come up as he was wriggling her neck and trying to take off her clothes.

He's seventy and he's bringing a twenty-one years old woman into the bedroom.

Seliya smiled faintly as she watched the Emperor fall asleep only when he held the young woman in his arms, even if she was about to die.

She doesn't think his lust has died down just because he's older. Seliya had a sneer on her lips as she saw his lower body sticking up towards the ceiling.

Her family, blinded by money and power, sent Seliya, only twenty-one years old, to the Emperor's bed chamber where she revealed her feminine side.

Since they weren't related by blood, they weren't even a real family.

'The reason they collected me the day I was wandering the streets was purely to sell me at a high price.'

Seliya laughed quietly.

Beasts dressed as family members. They will probably never know.

Even though she knew, she pretended not to know anything and pretended to be obedient, it was all for today.

“Rumors don’t even reach the reality. I thought only your face was beautiful, but your body was...”

The Emperor tore off the thin dress that Seliya was wearing and ate her.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing what else is hidden inside this chemise.”

Seeing Seliya wearing only a white chemise, the Emperor grinned and bared his teeth. The dark, wrinkled emperor's hand traced her cheek, her delicate neckline, and her collarbone, one after another.

Seliya smiled brightly. The Emperor, fascinated by her laughter, tried to kiss Seliya. But Seliya turned her head and refused to kiss him.

“...How dare you disobey me?”

Seliya shook her head and rolled her eyes.

“How could a lowly person like me disobey Your Majesty?”

The Emperor's spirit became dizzy at the sound of her soft and quiet voice. The voice of the Siren, who seduced the sailors with her song and ate them, would be nothing more than an unpleasant noise compared to the voice of this beautiful woman.

“You know my situation well. Then, please try to satisfy me.”

Seliya nodded her head slightly at the arrogant Emperor's words.

Seliya smiled softly and tumbled the emperor onto the bed. Then she lowered her face onto the Emperor's torso and placed one hand on his body.

Seeing her tiny hands clinging to his bare skin and Seliya looking down at him from above, the Emperor let out a sigh of relief.

Seliya put her hand on the headdress. She took off her flower-shaped headdress, and her fine silver hair flowed down, tickling the Emperor's wrinkled forehead.

At the same time, he was struck by the scent of hyacinth flowers, which completely enveloped the room.

The emperor's eyes, which had been shining with desire, lost their focus and became blurry as if they had never happened before.

Seliya looked down at the Emperor and tugged at the corner of her mouth.

“I have been waiting for the day to meet you, Your Majesty.”

There was a small clicking sound. It was a sound that came from the headdress that Seliya held in her hand, but the Emperor, who was dazzled by Seliya, did not hear the sound.

Seliya spread her hands holding the headdress. What she held in her hands was no longer the headdress.

It was at most a little smaller than the palm of her hand, but it was clearly a sword, emitting a sharp light.

The sharp, well-forged blade was sharp enough to take the life of one person.

Without any hesitation, Seliya brought the blade in her hand to the Emperor's neck.

The Emperor with a dull face had a sword hanging at his throat, but instead of resisting, he just kept his mouth open in an idiotic manner.

A look of deep disgust appeared on Seliya's face.

“Even when it’s time to go, you have to feel the pain.”

Seliya muttered softly and immediately took in the hyacinth scent that had invaded the room. As the scent disappeared, the Emperor's mesmerized eyes returned to focus.

“...Ho, escort!”

The Emperor belatedly called for an escort, but Seliya's hands moved faster than the escort bursting into the room.

Sigh!

Red blood spurted out from the Emperor's neck along with the sound of skin being split. Bright red blood soaked Seliya's entire body.

His body trembled, as if the emperor was mortified, as he watched Seliya slitting his own throat with a face that was completely devoid of her laughter.

“Kuh, kuhuhuhuh!”

The emperor vomited red blood and died with his eyes closed.

After confirming the Emperor's death, Seliya looked up blankly at the golden ceiling.

She finally killed that disgusting Emperor with her own hands. How long had it been since she was lying flat on the floor and hiding her true feelings?

The past days, which were worse than death, briefly passed through her mind.

'If you're going to be the wife of a man from such a family, wouldn't it be nice to be held in the arms of His Majesty the Emperor?'

The words spoken by the Viscountess, Hariel Brillion, rang in her ears.

To be held in the arms of an enemy who wouldn't mind tearing me to death. Does she even know what she was talking about?

“Ha..”

A new sneer escaped Seliya's lips.

Hariel always tried to squeeze out her soul, which was a thorn in her eye, and exchange it for money. Seliya doesn't know how much she took from the dead Emperor, but her mouth is probably hanging over her ear by now.

She never dreamed that she would kill the Emperor, and by now she was probably harboring vain hopes that she would be loved by the Viscount like she once was.

Hariel had dark blue hair, and Seliya had silver hair.

Only Hariel did not know that when the Viscount went to the bar, he only picked out silver-haired women.

Is she not only the Viscount? His two sons, who inherited his unclean blood, also looked at Seliya with lustful eyes.

Even though they didn't have a single drop of blood, they were truly a disgusting family.

In fact, one of Viscount's sons broke into her room while she was sleeping by opening the unlocked door.

He would have thought that if Seliya had no powers, she would not have been surprised no matter what happened to her.

After that incident, Seliya began to have insomnia. She fell into a deep sleep very rarely.

Seliya has never once forgotten her true identity and her purpose. She couldn't bear to be humiliated by those who were worse than animals.

And...Gabriel.

That woman, the Viscountess's youngest daughter, was her biggest problem. Gabriel's influence must have played a role in Hariel selling herself to the old Emperor.

However, there was one thing they never knew: Seliya had been waiting for the day when she would kill the Emperor.

Seliya let out a pouty laugh as she saw the corpse of the Emperor in front of her.

Angry sounds of shoe stomping were mixed in between the clear laughter. Soon, the sound of the door opening was heard, but Seliya didn't even look at the door.

Only Seliya's sweet laughter echoed in the blood-stained room.

“...How dare you?”

It was a voice as cold as frost. The voice, which was as cold as blood, was clearly filled with murderous intent.

At that voice, Seliya stopped laughing and slowly turned her head.

The man was completely black from head to toe. Even his hair and the uniform he was wearing were pitch black as if the darkness had taken the shape of a person.

“...”

As Seliya followed his chiseled jawline and the sharp bridge of his nose, she saw a blood-red eye.

It's a clear red eye.

She had seen many people, but this was the first time she had seen a man with such great looks.

But he would be no different from any other man she had. Even the priests who had protected his virginity throughout her life were taken aback by her smile.

Seliya smiled serenely at the man.

“...”

Despite her eye smile that seemed to mesmerize even the dead, the man just looked down at her with a cold face. No. On the contrary, it seemed as if his murderousness towards her had become more intense.

The man standing in the doorway came closer to Seliya, radiating his ferocious murderous spirit.

With a look on his face as if he were going to kill her, he snatched a blood-stained dagger from Seliya's hand and threw it on the floor.

Cheonggang!

The sound echoed in the room.

The man grabbed Seliya's collar with his blood-stained hands. The woman in front of him was naked, wearing only a chemise, but the man didn't seem to notice anything like that at all.

“Why did you kill the Emperor?”

Seliya could sense a clear anger from the man who asked that question. Instead of answering, Seliya let out a grin of her own.

Abelon destroyed her Kingdom first, so he had to pay the price he deserved.

Every time she closed her eyes, the heartbreaking cries of the people and the blood-stained faces of her family came vividly to mind.

'What a fool to be this angry about the death of a worthless Emperor.'

However, if the man in front of her was truly angry about the Emperor's death, wouldn't he have tried to collect the Emperor's body first?

She felt that the man was shaking at her hypocrisy.

Seliya narrowed her eyes as if sizing up the man before her.

Instead of reflecting, the man felt eyes searching him and furrowed his eyebrows.

Seliya's lips parted almost at the same time that the man who couldn't stand it took his mouth off her.

“Cough!”

Seliya let out a bloody cough. The man's expression hardened when he saw red blood dripping from the corner of her mouth.

The person who vomited blood did not change her expression at all. It seemed like it wasn't the first time she had vomited blood, and it even seemed familiar.

Seliya felt the man's grip on her collar loosen and spoke in a calm voice.

“The Emperor is trying to take me by force.”

“...”

“I only killed him to protect myself.”

Dietrich did not believe a word of what Seliya said.

It is said that the purpose of murdering the Emperor from the beginning was to completely hide the blade and enter the bed.

Seliya smiled softly at Dietrich, who had a cool face. Her eyelids fluttered shut and her body leaned to one side.

"Damn."

As her delicate body swayed, Dietrich picked Seliya up, swearing at her. She was as light as a feather. The knights who arrived late found the Emperor's body and were frightened.

Dietrich glared at the unconscious woman in his arms as if he were going to kill her. The knights who followed their superior's gaze almost lost their minds for a moment.

The one in the leader's arms was a woman called the Angel of Brillion. Her beauty, which did not fade even when she was covered in blood, was truly giving them goosebumps.

Dietrich, the Emperor's closest confidant and leader of the Imperial Knights, gave orders to the knights who stood dumbly.

“Let this be known throughout Abelon. His Majesty has passed away.”
