THYU - Chapter 31

The vineyard was in turmoil due to the sudden rain. Everyone shook off the moisture, but it didn't look the same as the first, elaborate outfit.

Violet also had to shake off her wet hair with her hands, but she still looked happy. She dried her hair with a dry cloth brought from the monastery and talked to the people.

Winter didn't understand most of the conversation, but he could tell from the other person's reactions that although Violet spoke little, she was intelligent and an interesting person to talk to.

Since his wife's new appearance was interesting, Winter, who had been devastated by Carlson's appearance, felt much better.

Violet, who was talking with the Gray couple from the capital, ended the conversation shortly after because she was concerned that the conversation was getting longer without Winter being able to join in.

"I forgot that I was planning to take a walk around the vineyard with my husband."

"Good! Shall we go together?"

"It's so muddy that your dress will get dirty again. I brought a lot of extras, so I'll be right back."

"Wow, it was really fun."

Mrs. Dougray seemed to have enjoyed the conversation with Violet so much that she looked disappointed. Winter stuffed his hands in his pockets angrily as he headed towards the vineyard with Violet.

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"There are 100 books you must read and 15 plays you must see to communicate well in the Rockround social circle."

"You took advantage of the time I was working like a dog."

Violet stopped at Winter's sarcastic words and turned her head slightly to look at him. Then Winter spoke nervously.

"I'm not angry at you specifically, so don't ask me if I'm angry."

"I really can't tell the difference."

"I don't know what the hell you're thinking. What does that expression mean now? Does this mean you don't feel anything?"

At his words, a bit of disappointment spread across Violet's face.

"I thought it was fun walking through the vineyards with you... Doesn't it look like that?"

At her words, Winter's temper, which had been bouncing around like a rubber ball, fell to the floor. Violet said as Winter, who froze for a moment, quickly wrapped Violet's arm around hers and crossed her arms.

"I know. Yes, it seems. I was teasing you because you looked so happy."

The corners of Violet's eyes were slightly bent as if his calm lie had worked. To change the subject, Winter took out the envelope the monks handed out earlier from his jacket pocket. The envelope had fresh flowers attached to it, and inside was a card with the donation amount written down. Violet asked curiously.

"Have you paid yet? I heard they were all taken away earlier."

"I was wondering how much I had to write so the monks would think I wrote It wrong and let me into the monastery. Is it okay if it's about 100,000?"

"If it's just that much, they'll probably think I'm paying it."

"No matter how much it is you..."

"I'm not the kind of person who deserves limitations like 'no matter what."

"You are truly blind to the world."

"What do you mean?"

"It means you are really dark about things in the world."

As Winter repeated the same words as if there was no way to explain, a scream was heard from across the table.

"Someone call a doctor!"

I saw a monk collapsed between the tables.

As Violet hurriedly ran, Winter suddenly followed her. He was more interested in the fact that his wife, who rarely ran, was running than in the fact that the monk had fallen.

As Violet got closer, she saw that the monk's body was convulsing.

Violet bent down to check the young monk's condition. The poison was spreading blue from the monk's hand, and in his hand was a bundle of donation envelopes with fresh flowers returned from his benefactors.

As she checked the flowers in the envelope one by one, she put one envelope aside.

It looked almost identical, but it was a different flower with spots on the back of the petals. The name Lancia Jon Reyes was written on the envelope.

Violet immediately untied the ribbon around her waist and tied it tightly around the monk's arm to prevent the poison from rising any further. Then she took out an antidote from a small pocket inside her sleeve.

She kept it because she was worried that if she swallowed poisonous plants while pregnant, they would remain in her body.

Violet gave the monk an antidote and made him drink lukewarm water. The antidote for the poisonous weed was so effective that it soon stopped spreading. It was only after a while that a doctor who came from nearby told them that there was no danger to life, did people relax.

Winter finally relaxed and asked, supporting Violet's staggering arm.

"What did you feed him?"

"It's an antidote to poisonous plants."

"Why are you carrying that?"

Then Violet answered with a nonchalant expression.

"I like flowers. I plan to use it if I accidentally touch a poisonous plant."

Although it was a bit suspicious, it was true that Violet liked flowers, and other than her explanation, there was no reason for his wife to carry the antidote, so Winter accepted it anyway. Still, he wasn't completely convinced.

***

Although it was a small incident, it was a big incident when a person almost died. In the end, the sponsorship party was stopped, and everyone turned around feeling worried and disappointed.

While Violet and Winter were also waiting for the carriage, a monk ran up and invited them to the monastery.

When she entered the monastery, she was greeted by a pale, young monk who fortunately woke up quickly and was lying down.

"I heard that the Lady took immediate action and I was safe. He collapsed and if it had been 20 minutes, his life might have been in danger."

Violet responded, her face pale as she heard the news that his life was in danger.

"I'm glad, but I guess it's not a coincidence that the flowers were mixed together. The mixed flowers only grow in alpine areas. If you don't bring it on purpose, there's no reason for you to be here."

"Yes."

"The envelope with other flowers on it had the name Lancia Jon Reyes written on it."

Then the boy answered with a bitter expression.

"This is my brother. My brother is already in critical condition... If my brother, who has no children, dies, I will Inherit the title..."

The boy, who was accustomed to etiquette, did not want to lie down in front of the Lady, so he did his best to sit up.

"Thank you. My name is Lancia Jon Reyes, the second son of the Lancia family."

Backward names were a feature of some areas in the western part of the continent. Violet answered politely as well.

"This is Violet Blooming."

"Oh, I see! The Lancia family never forgets the blessings they have received, so my parents will definitely help you..."

The boy raised his voice a little, then stumbled and fell. Winter said as if he was dumbfounded.

"Just lie down, kid."

"What a kid. You're rude..."

Winter shook his shoulders, probably because it was funny to hear Reyes' young voice, even though he couldn't even control his body.

While other monks gathered around worrying about the youngest hoy, Winter took his wife out into the hallway. He whispered in Violet's ear.

"Thanks to you, I infiltrated here. I came here by invitation, so why are we sneaking in? We're going to take a wrong turn and enter the brewery. When that kid collapses and everyone is distracted, we'll take a spin and come out."

"Are you a more heartless person than I thought? A person has fallen."

Winter responded as if she was rather surprised by Violet's words.

"You're colder than I thought. You've overestimated me."

"I didn't think anything bad would happen. How can you become rich with your bare hands without doing anything bad? How naive do you have to be to think something like that?"

Winter clicked his tongue as if he was shocked.

"You don't know me that much, so why bring up divorce?"

"Divorce won't hurt you financially."

"It would be more likely that this marriage would turn into a profit If you were there rather than if you weren't even there."

"Ah, that could be so."

After saying that, Violet kept her mouth shut.

Thinking the conversation was over, Winter tried to walk again, but Violet grabbed his wrist.

"I have a question."

"What do you want to know?"

"The child. Do you not want to have children with me, or do you just not like it?"

"I Just hate it."

"I really want children. So the word just is not a compromise solution."

Looking at his wife's earnest expression, it seemed like just saying no would not solve the problem, as she said.

"I don't have time to worry about my child."

"I will give birth and raise him on my own. Your child will grow up before you know it."

Violet said as if pleading. Of course, If Winter shakes it off and starts talking about the title, she will give up.

From what Winter had learned recently, his wife had a strong sense of responsibility. Although she had not heard from Ash about the dissolution of the royal family, she was willing to take responsibility for her brother's actions. But today, when he met a man who had been talking about getting married to her, Winter couldn't just break her heart.

He thought he could just get over it for now. When his wife, who seems to be cracking and falling apart at any moment, becomes a little more stable. After she did what she wanted. After buying her what she wanted and letting her do everything she wanted, she found something she would enjoy more than being born his child.

After that, he thought it wouldn't be too late to tell her that he couldn't have children.

Winter, who had been thinking and thinking for a while, spoke in an uncharacteristically shaky voice.

"It might happen someday. If birth control doesn't work properly."

"Then what should we do?"

"You have to give birth."

Violet's eyes widened like a child's as she was so happy about what he had said to avoid the situation.

"Thank you."

Violet was satisfied with his answer. Then, as if she wanted to make Winter aware of her joy, she clasped her hands.

Violet's s brief and clear joy made him feel like a criminal abandoned in the desert, but she soon suppressed her passion with calmness.

He managed to soothe his anxiety by saying that there was nothing to worry about since there was no way she would have a child anyway.
