THYU - Chapter 23

Winter, who was ready first, stood in front of the carriage waiting for Violet.

Meanwhile, he received news from Hayel, who had returned to the mansion, that there was another recipient of Violet's rent.

After hearing the explanation, Winter frowned.

"Carlson Rowe."

Winter had also seen him a few times on work-related occasions in the capital. Carlson was popular wherever he went because of his pretty face.

Hayel spoke from a step away, not knowing when Winter would explode.

"Well, there are many possibilities. For example, tax issues?"

"Why would the property be divided into royal property? There is no tax on royal property."

"Still?"

"Yeah, still."

However, even if it was a tax issue that divided it into private property and royal property, it was unclear why there was one more recipient.

It was illegal to secretly find out about his wife's private property, so he couldn't hastily ask Violet.

Winter didn't know exactly what kind of person his wife was yet. It was a result of ignoring her for the past three years.

He definitely doesn't see her as someone who would commit an affair, but who knows. Winter has seen countless people commit evil deeds with angelic faces. The same was true for Violet's older brother.

Ash Lawrence. With a face that resembles his wife's, he has done nothing but disturb Winter.

As he lived, he became filled with distrust towards humans. Winter quickly erased the thoughts from his mind.

If his wife committed an affair because she couldn't bear the loneliness of the past three years, wouldn't it be okay to kill that guy named Carlson Rowe or chase him down?

Winter could at least forgive his wife for wasting money on another man. After all, her love isn't something that can be exchanged for money.

Even if they got involved, he would turn the family upside down and watch his wife for the rest of his life, but he would forgive her anyway.

All he has to do is not love. As long as she wasn't so deeply in love that she decided to leave him, he could somehow forgive her..

At that time, Violet was seen walking out from beyond the door.

"Did you wait long?"

When Violet asked, Winter just stopped the carriage without answering.

His relationship with her had finally improved a little, and he had no intention of getting angry at her without knowing anything.

***

From the moment their son and his wife entered the dinner table, Catherine and James noticed that their relationship had clearly changed. This is because they have rarely seen the two people move together.

Winter's attitude, which was usually polite but dripping with rudeness, also changed slightly.

After finishing the meal and drinking tea, he did not lift the teacup with his index finger on the handle like he always did, nor did he stir the tea with a spoon. The couple's thoughts were complicated.

Catherine said in a soft voice.

"If we branch out, there will no longer be positions like this."

Then James spoke soothingly.

"It's not like we're leaving right away. I'm so sorry. Catherine."

"I know that, but..."

Catherine looked embarrassed and cupped her cheek with one hand.

"Still, I would like you both to stay home a little longer if possible."

Violet's mouth went dry as Catherine and James openly expressed their discomfort about the split. It was because she was afraid that this persuasion would change Winter's mind.

Over the past few days, Violet has been suspicious of the fact that the Bloomings have not even taught Winter the simple etiquette of tea time.

In the meantime, she thought it wasn't because he was a stubborn person, so he didn't change. However, Winter immediately accepted what Violet said.
Violet thought that maybe his parents didn't love him as much as Winter thought. But it was impossible to say such harsh words. Because he had no doubt about his parents' love.

Catherine continued.

"More than that, Violet, how is your health these days?"

"Health..."

Violet was about to answer with a pale face when Winter interrupted.

"Not good. To be honest, it would be hard to even come and sit here. It's not surprising if she suddenly collapses."

They thought about bringing up the story about the trickster, but when Winter answered with a firm tone, the Bloomings stopped. Winter continued, unable to hide his irritation.

"The doctor said she has a severe headache. That damn quack."

Winter, seeing the surprised eyes of his parents, cleared his throat and continued.

"They said the incompetent doctor was using bad quality medicine that is no longer used. That medicine causes headaches. It's clear that the quack paid for the drugs, so we're going to put him in jail somehow."

"Oh my god, did you do that? I didn't even know that!"

Catherine was surprised, covering her mouth with both hands, then cupped Violet's hand and asked.

"Baby, are you okay now?"

Violet's hands trembled slightly. Every time she met the Bloomings, she felt like she was going crazy. In the early days of marriage, she thought she was sane and the world was crazy, but gradually her thoughts changed to the idea that the world was sane and she was crazy.

Violet barely managed to smile with her trembling mouth.

"Yes, I'm okay now."

Catherine held Violet's hand tightly with both hands and continued stroking it as if she was worried.

Persuasion to stop the branch continued, but contrary to Violet's concerns, Winter did not change his mind at all. Then James asked Violet to bring up the main purpose of today's meal.

"So."Why do you want to separate your home so much, Violet?"

"Father, I belong to the branch..."

"There's no need to cover it up, Winter. As your father, I know better than you, who have lived here since you were twelve, would not have said you would leave first.
Violet, could you continue."

James paused for a moment and then.

"Did you think the capital would be a better place to have and raise children?"

Violet stopped at his words and looked at Winter.

Then Winter said.

"I already said I won't have children."

"Winter."

When Violet called his name with a bitter face, Winter pretended not to hear and said.

"If you finish eating, let's get up first."

Violet let out a trembling sigh as she watched him get up and leave. Then, after confirming that Winter had left, James asked Violet with a slightly angry expression.

"What is this talking about? He doesn't want to have children?"

"My husband doesn't want children."

"Then you'll have to convince him, right? If that kid had a place at home to focus on, would he have said something like that?"

Then Catherine stopped next to him.

"You know Winter is stubborn. Once he makes up his mind, he won't listen even if anyone persuades him. Violet, what do you do? Go out and comfort him."

"... Then I will wake up first."

Violet said goodbye and followed Winter out.

James said once they both left.

"It certainly seems like Violet still doesn't know that she can't have children with Winter."

"It seems so."

Catherine agreed.

***

She thought that if it was Winter's personality, he would have gone first, but surprisingly, he was waiting for Violet in front.

Violet stopped in front of Winter and looked at him blankly. When it came to the matter of the child, he had no intention of backing down, so he did not open his mouth first.

She couldn't figure out why he hated children. Besides, he didn't even explain why. As soon as the topic of children came up, he just shut his mouth and that was the end.

The two people looked at each other quietly, and Winter spoke first.

"Nо."

"..."

"You said you wanted to live separately, so I listened."

"I will convince you."

"I won't stop you from that, but it won't change my mind."

Winter responded.

Still, Violet's heart softened a little when she heard that he would not stop her from persuading him. Besides, thanks to the doctor who criticized her earlier, she won't be accused of faking her illness for the time being.

Violet asked.

"Are you going straight to the capital?"

"I have to go. Rather, you kept the land I gave you without disposing of it at all? This is why not a single piece of jewelry is in good condition."

"So are you saying that all the things I have from the royal family are not correct?"

"Yes. It's all outdated. It's out of fashion."

Violet's eyes narrowed at Winter's fierce and cold words.

Whenever Winter saw that look on his wife's face every time he said something. 'rude by Violet's standards,' he would get so hot that he would go crazy.

She's watching it out of disgust, but he doesn't know why that expression is so disgusting. It was to the point where he began to wonder if he really had an abnormal sexual desire.

He, who was so shameless that no one could match him in the South, said while avoiding his wife's gaze.

"Anyway. So, buy something new today. I don't need anything. Not things. There is something I really wanted to try."

"Wait."

Winter still had the trauma of the first time he asked his wife to talk to him and she said she had something she wanted to say.

What did you say, it was similar to something you don't want to keep but a waste to throw away. This woman has no conscience. What idiot would endure such terrible anger?

Pain, joy, and depression over something that would be too wasteful to throw away in the world?

While he was avoiding, Violet carefully reached out her hand and cupped Winter's hand. Then she looked up at him and smiled faintly.

"I want to hold your hand."

Winter, whose trauma disappeared so quickly and pathetically from that action, glanced at Violet.

"What is this?"

"When I first held your hand at the wedding. You don't know how nervous I was at that time. The man I met for the first time was my husband and I didn't know what to do from now on, so I held your hand first. I was amazed at how big your hands were."

"So."

"But that day, all your money was lost because of my brother. So, I was sad that I missed it that day."

Violet regretted that.

She'll hold on to it a little tighter that day. She should have followed him. If so, would he have hated her a little less?

Winter asked, looking at the held hand.

"Therefore. Is this all you want to do?"

Winter's expression was on the verge of explosion as if something had upset him. Anyway, it was surprising how she had not known about that fiery personality for the past three years. Violet had never seen such severe hot-headedness in her life.

She still couldn't tell when her husband was angry and when he wasn't. He seems angry, but the corner of his mouth seems to be twitching a little.

"Now. You're angry, right?"

When Violet asked, Winter shouted.

"It didn't work! Why can't we hold hands like this? You just have to catch it like this!"

"Well, it was hard to find a time when you weren't busy."

Winter, who had lost his temper at Violet's calm words, suddenly stopped. Winter was no stranger to Violet holding his hand even Just a moment ago.

As she said, Violet held his hand at the wedding, held his hand to ask him to give her a moment, and last time, on his father's birthday, she held his hand with her scarred hand to ask for a chat.

This was not unfamiliar to him as she was always the first to hold his hand.

Whenever his wife held his hand, he always let go of it first. Because his time was always geared toward work.

The more he looks at it, the more he sees that there is nothing in common between him and his wife. She tries to buy her everything she wants, but why does all she wants is to hold his hand?

If this is the case, what kind of love can the two have?

People have different expectations of each other.

Winter took her hand away first this time. Violet seemed familiar with this and tried to pull her hand into his arms, but Winter held her tightly again. Violet's hand was held in Winter's hand.

"Let's go."

"I think you should go to work. Hayel is getting restless over there."

"Tell them to figure it out. If it doesn't work without me, is that a company? It's a local corner store."

Winter replied, dragging her towards the carriage. Violet was worried about Hayel, who was stomping his feet behind her, so she kept looking back, but she couldn't overcome Winter's insistence and got into the carriage.

However, the direction that Winter, who had been throwing out old, outdated items and buying new items, asked the coachman was not towards the downtown area outside the estate, but towards the mansion where the two people lived.

Violet asked after getting out of the carriage.

"Weren't you planning to go to the downtown area?"

Then Winter said as he headed to the largest living room on the second floor of the mansion.

"Do I look that leisurely?"

"For the past few days."

Anyway, where does he have time to go around and buy everything?

"We should call the downtown area here."

He grumbled and climbed the stairs.
