SPMB - Special Side Story 20

The Revelers of Addis (16)

“Well, I heard my wife is here.”

The Viscount Linz came to visit.

"Is Chloe okay?”

".."

Kanna was secretly impressed.

Chloe, you chose a man whose appearance is completely opposite to that of the Addis men.

'He looks like Yeon-woo.'

The impression of a lily of the valley on a foggy dawn was not at all similar to the red-faced Addis men.

“Ah. Is that my mom’s husband?”

Isabelle looked Viscount Linz up and down with her eyes as if she were looking at an insignificant small animal. Then the Vizier of Linz got scared and shrugged his shoulders.

“Yes, that’s right,. Nice to meet you."

"There’s no need to say hello. It’s unlikely we’ll ever see each other again.”

Isabelle glared at Viscount Linz and snorted.

“It’s similar to my style. Mom’s tastes are similar to mine.”

"..."

Huh?

Kanna thinks she just heard something amazing.

However, Isabelle walked away as if she had not said anything.

"Honey!"

At that time, Chloe came running. While being held in the arms of Viscount Linz, she glared sharply at Kanna.

“You haven’t done anything to my husband, have you?”

"..."

Well, what do I do? Funny.

Kanna turned around without saying a word.

At that time, Chloe's voice, which suddenly calmed down, caught Kanna.

“Kanna. Wait.”

When she turned around, Chloe was coming toward her, leaving her husband behind.

“There was something I wanted to say to you all along.”

Kanna narrowed her eyes. She can't believe Chloe going to come here and apologize now...?

“I don’t feel sorry for you one bit.”

Also...

That can't be possible.

Chloe stood right in front of Kanna and spoke with a confident face.

“I’m not sorry at all, really.”

It even seemed like she still had some anger left in her.

“Your biological mother is my enemy. Can you imagine the humiliation of raising you with my own hands?”

"..."

“If it were any other stepmother, I would have starved you to death. But I didn’t do that. You should be grateful to me for that.”

Those words made Kanna laugh.

Say, thank you? Are you serious?

'They say she demanded a huge amount of money from Alex in exchange for raising me.'

Kanna heard that it is a property that can be enjoyed by as many as three generations.

'She took everything she got and then brutally abused me, a disgusting child abuser.'

But what on earth makes it so unfair?

Kanna can't understand Chloe.

Or did she really love Alessandro? Is that why Chloe was so upset that she was raising a daughter from another woman?

“I see, Stepmother.”

Kanna walked closer to Chloe. She lowered her face to Chloe's ear and whispered softly.

“That’s good. I’m not sorry either.”

"What?"

“I not feel sorry for having the men of Addis whom you treated as treasures. I am not sorry at all.”

"...!"

Chloe opens her eyes. She clenches her fists and glares at Kanna as if she were going to kill her.

And at that moment, Kanna made a decision.

“Especially because you consider me...”

Kanna decided to give Chloe a nightmare she would never forget.

“I’m not sorry at all.”

Now that Kanna thinks about it, this woman is Alex's ex-wife.

This woman must have married him too, right? She must have walked down the Virgin Road with him in a wedding dress, right?

When Kanna thought about it, her heart suddenly twisted.

But, it's okay. Because...

“I don’t have to feel sorry for waking up in the morning with him, right”

Because Chloe has never been like that.

Not only Chloe, but no one else would be there.

No matter how many children he has, the only one who dominates his nights is her.

Feeling satisfied with that fact, Kanna pulled up her red lips and smiled.

"...Since when?"

Finally, tears welled up in Chloe's eyes. It flowed down her cheeks.

“Since when?”

I whispered. Crying, holding back howls.

“No, there’s no need to say it. I know everything. Since when did you come back to Addis Mansion? Since then? It was strange that he cared so much about you.”

She fired like a low, rapid-fire gun so as not to be seen by Viscount Linz, who was standing behind her.

"You are a true libertine. How on earth could you do that? How, where me and my children are!”

“Unfortunately, it’s after that.”

Kanna grinned.

“It would have been better if it had been like that from then on, as you said. It’s really a shame.”

“You, you bad, vicious bitch!”

“You’re a bad bitch too, Chloe, why? I guess it feels unfair to meet a bitch worse than you?”

Kanna was very sarcastic and laughed.

“Chloe Linz, you said you weren’t sorry to me, right? Please keep it that way until the end. I won’t be sorry to you either.”

And this put an end to this terrible relationship.

“Goodbye, Viscountess Linz, live with your new husband or not, and let us never meet again.”

A few days later, Kalen returned.

“Sister! Brother Kalen is hurt!”

Kanna was surprised. Kalen's right hand had turned black.

“Brother, my brother was trying to save me, ugh, that bad man used some strange power..."

“Lucy, speak calmly, what happened?”

Julian, a Southern Continent artifact dealer attacked Lucy using another Southern Continent artifact, a magic tool.

Fortunately, Lucy was safe and uninjured.

"It's okay."

Kalen got injured while rescuing Lucy.

“Don’t worry too much.”

"..."

“I’m fine, sister.”

He wasn't okay.

His right hand had turned black and he could no longer move it.

“How can you get better from this?”

“Well, little is known about the relics of the Southern Continent, so I’m not sure.”

Kanna burst into tears at Kalen's refreshing answer.

What does that attitude mean?! It's not someone else's hand, it's his own hand that has gotten to this point!

“It doesn’t hurt?”

“Yes. I can’t feel anything.”

"..."

It really was. After a simple diagnosis, Kalen's right hand did not respond to any stimulation.

The nerves had completely died.

'It's like his right hand is crippled.'

Fortunately, he was ambidextrous, but he still used his right hand more.

Besides, losing one hand to the prosecutor was like a death sentence...

“Where is Julian? I need to talk to him directly.”

Anger boiled over.

Kanna going to torture him. She'll pour out the most terrible drugs she has. She's going to give him all the pain in the world so he can figure out how to heal that hand.

“He’s dead.”

"What...?"

"I'm not used to magic attacks, so I was a little surprised. I couldn’t control my strength.”

"..."

He died.

If he died...

'I don't know how to treat it.'

If that's the case, Kalen might have to live like that for the rest of his life.

An ominous feeling struck her for a moment, but Kanna succeeded in controlling her expression.

“I see. But it’s okay. There are still relic dealers from the Southern Continent spread throughout the Western Continent. We just need to catch someone and find a cure.”

“Don’t worry too much, sister.”

Kalen smiled sweetly and soothingly.

“I don’t mind even if I don’t have any hands.”

Kanna is sad.

Kallen liked that fact.

Moreover, she seemed to feel some kind of responsibility for what had become of him.

When Lucy said she wanted to be bait, she didn't object. On the contrary, they complemented the operation and even added a tracking scent to Lucy's bear.

'If Lucy hadn't been the bait, I wouldn't have gotten hurt.'

As Kalen looked at Kanna's face, holding back the sorrow, a mean pleasure came over him. He laughed, feeling his lower stomach tingle.

It will be difficult to find a cure for the time being. Because to do that, he definitely cut off Julian's life.

His sister, who has a strong sense of responsibility as a member of the National Assembly, will take care of him until the end.

Because now he is her patient.

“It’s really okay.”

Finally.

As he hoped.
