 TAPGB - Chapter 135

The Abandoned Prince's Ghost Bride

“So what is this situation now?”

Javier's face became serious as he heard a low voice coming from in front of him.

“It was a trap. Meanwhile, the first Emperor was deceiving us and imitating His Majesty Leopold.”

“...Do Lucian and Leah know about this?”

“No, I also found out that it was true after I fell into the trap, so I have to tell the two of you right away. And I heard a while ago that some warlocks were heading to the imperial palace.”

This was information leaked by those who were torturing Javier in an attempt to make him give up and confess.

"Shit!"

Caesar cursed and cast teleportation.

Tung-

But the magic didn't work. Instead, Caesar frowned at the feeling of resistance as if he was being bounced by something.

Even though he tried again and again, the teleportation did not work. Just like preventing someone from entering the imperial palace...

“Seeing as the teleport is not working, the warlocks may have already arrived and set up a barrier.”

“It’s a barrier...”

It's not wrong. This feeling of repulsion is similar to trying to enter a lair with a barrier in place.

“I’m dying because I don’t have time, but it’s so annoying...!”

If the barrier had already been opened, it was safe to say that the imperial palace had fallen into Leon's hands.

‘Lucian and Leah are in danger.’

An ominous energy kept passing by the back of his neck. If things didn't work out, Caesar planned to break the barrier with his body. Of course, if that happens, many humans will know of the existence of dragons.

“Caesar, let’s go this way.”

Javier led Caesar's arm. When he came out, he saw a group of warlocks.

“What...!”

“It’s an intruder! Support right now...!”

Caesar took care of those warlocks in one go. The two entered the dungeon to avoid people's eyes.

"Here is... ?”

“This is the entrance to an underground tunnel. The barrier will not interfere even underground.”

Javier hurriedly handed over the underground plan he had drawn to Caesar.

“You can just follow along like this. Go quickly!”

"Thanks."

Caesar gave a brief greeting and hurried into the underground tunnel. As he disappeared into the distance in an instant, Javier turned back.

“Javier!”

Just then, one of the new sect priests heard the commotion and approached Javier.

“Call the wizard right now. I need you, Sebastian!”

Sebastian was temporarily dispatched to a local area due to interference from the old faction. He was the only one who could use his holy power to fight against the warlocks.

If he were there, the situation would definitely change 180 degrees.

“The warlocks are starting to move! On behalf of His Majesty, I hereby declare a state of war! Call the priests together right now!”

"Yes!"

Here, Javier began preparing to fight against the warlock in his own way.

 “...Is there something strange?”

After Leopold left, I lingered in the garden waiting for Lucian to return.

However, a little while ago, I felt as if the entire palace's tone had changed.

It was quiet as usual, but tension hovered throughout the palace as if it were the eye of a storm.

“Is it because of my mood?”

Maybe I feel that way because I'm nervous. But I still felt uncomfortable, so I wanted to get out of there as soon as Lucian came.

“Leah, you’ve waited a long time, right?”

At that moment, I heard Lucian's voice. I smiled and turned my head towards him.

"You're here?"

I naturally wrapped my arms around Lucian's waist and hugged him.

Lucian smiled and hugged me tightly. Then, brushing aside my hair, he gently kissed my forehead.

I, who had my eyes closed, was confused by a sudden discomfort.

‘Unpleasant?’

We always do skinship, but I don’t know why I’m so reluctant about it.

I wondered if it was because the place was open, but even as I was hugging Lucian, an unpleasant feeling crawled up my ankles.

It gave me goosebumps as if a snake had climbed up my leg and wrapped around my entire body.

A shiver ran down my spine, and I reflexively walked away from Lucian.

“Leah?”

His hand wrapping around my shoulder felt sticky.

It was an unfamiliar yet very familiar feeling. It already happened once 300 years ago.

Leah's eyes sank coldly.

"Hey."

Lucian's eyes widened at the sudden harsh tone and he looked back at me.

“What about Lucian?”

My hair fluttered in the air, and then purple mana spurted out from my body. I had a vast amount of mana that could not even be compared to Lucian.

The corner of Lucian's mouth twitched when he saw that, but he immediately responded with an absurd expression.

“What are you talking about? I am Lucian.”

"Ha... Do you think I don't even recognize my lover? What did you do to Lucian?”

The gold eyes that sparkled by reflecting the sunlight changed color as the clouds blocked the sun. Soon Lucian, or rather Leon, smiled crookedly.

“You really... Even though it's annoying, you have a good sense of humor. This time I wasn’t as sloppy as last time, how did you know?”

I opened my eyes wide and in an instant hurled a spear made of my mana at him.

Leon chuckled and with a single gesture of his hand turned the spear into dust.

“Try to touch even one of Lucian’s fingers. Then I will kill you.”

“Arya, I guess you forgot, but this body is the body of Lucian’s beloved older brother. And yet you kill me?”

“As long as Lucian is safe, it doesn’t matter what happens to Leopold.”

Leon's expression hardened in response without the slightest hesitation.

‘She's serious.’

Leopold is indeed an important person, but her zero priority is Lucian.

She was the one who didn't care what happened to others as long as she could save her Lucian.

Leon felt his feelings keenly, and old memories of her that he had thought he had forgotten began to come back to him one by one.

I’m in a serious relationship with Aria. We’ve been dating for a year now.’

An abominable younger brother who took the side of the woman he loved with a face identical to his own.

He wanted to tear him up on the spot when he asked him to support his own love with his innocent face that said he knew nothing.

But 300 years later, does he still have to miss the woman he loves like he did then?

“It will never happen.”

The golden interior, where the light had disappeared, brought goosebumps of fear to her entire body. Leah unconsciously closed her mouth and stepped behind.

Before she knew it, pitch-black mana was slowly flowing out of Leon's body.

"Aria."

“...Don’t come closer.”

“I lost you last time because of my foolishness, but not this time. After 300 years, you finally appeared in front of me. Do you think I’ll miss you this time?”

Leon’s eyes were literally filled with all kinds of emotions. Obsession, anger, love and hate, deficiency, etc. It was truly a collection of distorted love.

‘What is love... That's not even love.'

It's just an obsession to get what he doesn't have by any means possible.

“...That’s why you can’t do it.”

When Leah made a truly pitiful expression on her face, Leon raised one corner of his mouth and smiled strangely.

“Love is being considerate of the other person, giving for them, and waiting for them. It’s not about pressuring and extorting the other person like you do.”

“If you’re going to make me angry, you’d better stop. I’m sure you haven’t forgotten who I’ve been seeing, right?”

Leah frowned, then remembered Lucian and her face contorted.

“Leon!”

“Ah, it’s been a while since I heard that name.”

Leon was truly happy that his name was called.

It was so horrifyingly abominable to her that Leah unleashed her mana with all her might.

Leon also opened his own mana as if he had been waiting.

Quang! Kwaaaaang!

Jet black mana and purple mana clashed. In the aftermath, the garden surrounding the two was destroyed and a strong gust of wind blew.

Wow!

"It's a surprise attack! Someone has raided the imperial palace!"

"Protect Your Majesty now!"

All of the employees in the imperial palace were distraught. The knights were armed and running here, saying they had to protect Leon.

In their eyes, Leon will still look like Leopold.

"Witch! A witch is attacking Your Majesty!”

At that time, someone shouted at Leah, calling her a witch.

His words caused a huge stir as witch hunts were still rampant within the empire.

When Leah saw that the person whose voice was speaking had a calm expression, unlike his urgent tone, she realized that he was one of Leon's henchmen.

“Tsk, what a useless thing.”

Leon clicked his tongue with an awkward expression. It seems it wasn't the direction he wanted, but that didn't stop the rumors from spreading.

“Stop right now!”

“Get away from Your Majesty!”

Soon, the knights surrounded the two people. There was no time to worry about them in a situation where they were so busy dealing with Leon.

“Tsk!”

When Leah's concentration was broken, Leon took advantage of the opportunity and began to push.

As she began to lose ground, Leah refocused. However, once his  concentration was lost, it was difficult to return it to its original state.

“How can you have such power when you don’t even know how to use magic!”

Leah shouted urgently. Leon smiled softly at that.

“It’s a body that has lived like this for 300 years. You can’t think it’s the same as before.”

“Kill the witch!”

The knight, who had already narrowed the distance further, swung his sword at Leah. Leah bit her lip and managed to pull back. However, she must have been unable to avoid it completely, and her shoulder was slightly cut.

Leon's eyes widened as her clothes became stained with blood.

“Who are you touching now?”

Leon's voice echoed beyond the garden and throughout the imperial palace.

The knight who cut Leah was embarrassed and hesitated. Meanwhile, Leon sliced the knight's neck horizontally with his finger, separating his neck and body.

Other knights who were approaching hesitated when they saw the knight's head lying on the floor.

What about His Majesty?

What is that power now...?

His throat was cut...

“I will not forgive anyone who causes even the slightest scratch on Leah’s body.”

The knights felt fear at the sight of Leon giving orders with his eyes flashing eerily. However, there was no way the knights who had submitted their obedience to the Emperor would refuse his orders.

“What are you doing? Why don’t you catch her right away?”

The knights hesitated and grabbed Leah's hands and arms. Leah resisted as much as she could, but when she was captured by the four knights, she could no longer resist.

“Tsk!”

Her hands were tied behind her back, and Leah, who was forced to her knees, moaned. Leon came in front of her, who was bound. Thennhe bent down on one knee and looked at Leah with his eyes full of worry.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you. It must hurt a lot. Treat it quickly...”

Tsk-

Sticky saliva stuck to Leon’s cheek.

The knights who were restraining Leah and Leon, who had been hit by the needles, froze as well. Only Leah revealed her teeth and glared at Leon.

"Go away."

"Ha...”

Leon wiped the saliva off his cheek and let out a laugh. And then he looked down at Leah with his turned eyes.

Leon grabbed the back of Leah's hair. Leah let out a moan as she was forced to throw her head back.
