RV - Chapter 6

Rosalyn Vogart

In fact, although the exterior of Somer Palace was a mess, the interior was quite neatly organized.

Rosalyn thought later that the plan was to cause an uproar by just looking at the exterior of the building and asking what this was all about.

If Rosalyn had shown such an attitude, she would have been accused of insulting those who had prepared to greet their master with all their sincerity, even though the surface was less organized.

Of course, by their standards, this might have been a worthy treatment.

“How would you like to eat?”

Madame Clotty approached Rosalyn, who had changed into an indoor dress.

“It doesn’t pull much.”

“Don’t you like where you live?”

Madame Clotty asked with an expressionless face as if trying to guess Rosalyn's reaction.

Rosalyn, who had been seriously answering all of her questions, raised her head.

“Why do you think that?”

“Didn’t I see with my own eyes how magnificent the Vogart Mansion was? I was wondering if you were skipping meals because you were upset.”

Mrs. Clotty spoke to her quite kindly, as if to comfort her. But the inside was obvious. Madame Clotty was waiting for the moment when Rosalyn would agree and reveal her true feelings. Then she will add a flesh and convey everything about her to the Queen.

A commoner girl who flaunts money and ignores the royal family. What a great subject to talk about behind the scenes.

“No, it’s comfortable. All I have to do is bring in new things that I need.”

“Then why are you not eating...”

“It’s a new place, so I need time to get used to it.”

Rosalyn answered softly. Even Mrs. Clotty had no way of forcing such a euphemistic refusal.

“Then take a break and if you need anything, ring the bell. The maid will come.”

"Okay."

Rosalyn watched with a smile until the end as Mrs. Clotty hesitantly left. The smile that had been framed disappeared in an instant with the sound of the door closing. The muscles near her mouth tingled as she tried to force herself to smile.

It was only when she was left alone that she felt at ease. Because it was the same everywhere, there was no place to lean on.

Rosalyn got up from the chair she had been sitting on the whole time and lay down on the bed with new bedding. At least the touch on her body was soft and he seemed to feel a little better.

Suddenly, she remembered Robien's face looking at her with a somewhat embarrassed expression. Rosalyn didn't know whether he was surprised that he had been caught with Marianne, who had broken off the engagement, or that Rosalyn had appeared on the spot.

Maybe he had feelings for the girl who broke off the engagement.

Even if that were the case, it would be of no use now.

Rosalyn consciously broke the chain of thoughts. She fell asleep because her fatigue took precedence over her alertness to unfamiliar spaces.

***

It was impulsive. Even though the temperature at night was so cold that his hands felt cold without his outerwear on, Robien chose to take a late walk.

Rosalyn, who would become the Crown Princess, entered the palace. It also meant that he was not really close to getting married to her. Even during the rest, his mind was distracted by various thoughts.

It's not like he had any specific criteria for who would be his companion. However, he just accepted it because he had no choice, and Rosalyn was not a bride that Robien was interested in.

It's like parallel lines that should have never touched from birth. Is this fate or a trick of God?

Although he happened to see her face today, he still had no idea what kind of faces he would see in the future, what attitude he would have towards her, and what kind of life they would lead.

Was it because he kept thinking about Rosalyn?

Jane, Rosalyn's maid, stepped into the eyes of Robien, who was looking at her far away. Late at night, a maid walking around the palace on her own, when she should obviously be attending to her master.

“Bring her.”

The servant who had been following Robien's orders hurriedly ran to Jane. Not long after, Jane with a nervous face stood in front of Robien.

“Did you call me, Your Highness?”

“Where do you go like that?”

“I have something the Queen told me to do...”

“Isn’t your master now Miss Vogart?”

Jane's face blushed at Robien's vague question. Although she wasn't scolded out loud, it was clearly a criticism that she didn't know who the owner was and what she was supposed to do.

“Better get back to position.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.”

Jane bowed deeply and bowed.

"Dor a moment."

Pretending not to notice her trembling steps as she tried to escape, Robien's voice grabbed Jane's ankle.

“Where is Miss Vogart staying?”

“Somer Palace.”

It was a palace that had been abandoned for nearly 10 years, as it was far from the center where the King and Queen stayed. The palace couldn't have been properly cleaned or prepared, and he would have known why the Queen had mentioned it several times, asking why she had said so little about the palace.

“Is everything prepared properly?”

“What are you talking about...”

“Cleaning, furniture, organizing, and people.”

Jane, who was trying to pretend not to notice Robien's point, kept her mouth shut.

There's no way anything could have been done right. Robien sighed softly.

“Move Miss Rosalyn’s residence to Pellier Palace.”

"Yes?"

“The spare room is full, so she won’t run out of places to stay. Can you get ready right away?”

Robien asked the servant who was following him behind him.

It was a natural thing. Crown Prince Robien's Pellier Palace was as large as the King and the Queen's palace as there were many assigned users, and ample space was provided taking into account the situation during subsequent maintenance.

“But the two of you are not married yet, and the Queen took her into consideration and gave Somer Palace to her.”

“She will soon be my wife anyway, so what does it matter?”

“...”

“Even if there was, your job as a maid would be to follow my orders.”

Robien reminded Jane of his authority in a merciless voice.

Jane, who had been biting her lower lip in embarrassment, was now crying. Although Robien had a reputation as a gentle and well-mannered person to others, he was born and raised as the King's legitimate son.

“If you can’t do it, I’ll have no choice but to escort her myself.”

“...Your Highness."

Jane was embarrassed and raised her head, but when she met Robien's cold gaze, she unconsciously lowered her head.

“Jane Liberty, since you are no longer Miss Rosalyn’s maid, you had better go back.”

The last time was when Robien, who had driven the wedge, passed by Jane, who was frozen in place like a stone statue.

“Rosalyn, the second daughter of the Vogart family, meets His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.”

The moment Rosalyn, dressed in an indoor dress and shawl, approached him and greeted him, he realized that she had been watching the scene from before like a spectator.

“Isn’t she maid anymore?”

Since the name is unknown, the position of a third party or bystander is correct. Robien sighed and nodded his head in affirmation.

“If you were offended by me arranging your maid at will...”

"No, thanks."

Just as Robien was about to apologize, Rosalyn answered neatly. On the contrary, her face looked very refreshing, as if she was thankful that she had sorted out something that had been difficult and could not be resolved. Even though the number and rank of maids in the palace were meant to make their masters stand out.

“It’s still cold, why did you come out here late at night?”

He didn't know if Rosalyn knew or not, but it was none of his business. Their relationship was just like that.

“I wanted to go for a walk.”

“Without any followers?”

Even if that wasn't the case, wouldn't it be true to say that when the one maid was cut off and she opened her eyes, there was no one around her? Rosalyn gnawed at her ear with her ambiguous face.

“It’s because I’m not used to having people next to me all the time.”

Rosalyn answered as if it was nothing, but Robien, who had lived his entire life in the royal palace, did not know. He is not ready to accept superiors of a lower class than himself, and Rosalyn is a commoner who does not yet have a title in the family.

Jane Liberty, who had just been laid off, was probably not the only one who had behaved unruly.

“You're moving to Pellier Palace.”

He doesn't deserve Rosalyn either. But he had no intention of watching the person who would soon become the mother of his successor be ignored. In any case, she was the one who would become his wife.

"No, thanks. There might be some unnecessary talk going around.”

But Rosalyn rejected his goodwill. Anyway, He didn't know that her mere existence was causing all kinds of malicious rumors within the palace.

“We’ll talk again once the sun rises.”

Rosalyn was not a person who was afraid when dealing with him. If so, the intention conveyed by her slightly trembling body and her white fingers under the shawl widely wrapped around her shoulders was clear. It was too dark and cold to persuade Rosalyn right now.

Robien was a well-mannered gentleman and could not pretend to be unaware of the situation. Instead of pressing Rosalyn for an answer right now, he decided to send her away first. Rosalyn seemed to want that too and obediently followed him.

The walk, with no common topics to discuss, was very quiet, except for the occasional sound of bugs chirping. Under the gently falling silence, their steps stopped in front of Somer Palace, which had been abandoned for nearly 10 years.

“...It’s worth seeing.”

It was half a sigh. Even when Robien saw this, he pretended like nothing happened. Nevertheless, he couldn't help but acknowledge Rosalyn's patience as she greeted him with a smiling face and even came to ask for his permission.

“Everyone please stay back.”

Robien gave a brief command. Everyone following him took a few steps back, and one guard who recognized Rosalyn and Robien straightened up.

“Where is the other one?”

It was standard for two people to guard the entrance to each palace, but there was only one guarding the entrance to Somer Palace.

The guard, taken aback by Robien's question, hesitated. Rosalyn, who just wanted to go in and rest, took a step forward to make an excuse.

"Ah! Faster, more... !”

A faint moan and the sound of wet bodies hitting each other in excitement.

In a space filled with darkness and silence, even Rosalyn could not tell any lies to the sounds of pain that were occasionally heard.

It was common for subordinates in their prime to make eye contact with one another. However, unless he was looking at the owner funny, it was not something that could have happened while the owner had his eyes open.

Robien, who was standing still as if speechless, finally burst into laughter.

“Miss Bogart.”

“Yes, Your Highness.”

“You're moving to Pellie Palace.”

The voice was soft. As if it wouldn't matter if she refused again.

Rosalyn lifted her head slightly and looked at Robien. An expressionless face that shows no significant change.

"Right now."

But that was no longer a recommendation but an order.
