ICTV - Side Story 8
I change The Villain
"The security guard will go with him for a moment and interrogate him. Of course, I was dumbfounded. He shows up at random times and tries to drag me away without telling me why. So I was arguing with the security guard, and at some point, people started clicking their tongues when they saw me."
People had already concluded that Mera was a thief. She still gets angry when she thinks about what happened back then.
It was the regret of her life that she did not hit those people one by one at that time. Mera continued while wheezing.
"I felt deep disgust at the people who treated me like a monster without knowing that they were the ones making things really big. Just as I was about to lose my temper again, two people appeared. They came to look for me because they were worried that I was too late."
But at that time, she felt more embarrassed than grateful. It was as if they had discovered how much she was hated in the village. However, the two people's expressions did not change at all and they talked to the security guard to resolve the misunderstanding and took her away.
And throughout the meal, Rose said nothing. She would have asked Mera at least once if she was okay or if something was wrong, but all she did was eat her food. So Mera was internally relieved.
"I didn't want to say that I was the village's official monster. But before we parted ways, the Young Lady spoke to me clearly. 'Aren't you interested in working at the Pale family mansion?"
"..."
"I didn't know why she made that offer to me. There were a lot of well-behaved kids in the village other than me. But the Lady pointed me out and made that suggestion, and I, who was short on money, quickly accepted the offer. That's how I left the village."
Mera tapped her arm with her finger.
"But even if I leave the village, the fact that I am strong doesn't change, right? The people around me were very shocked to see me carrying heavy loads and beating up bullies I encountered on the street."
So Mera was anxious because she thought she wouldn't be able to get along here either. But Mera soon realized that it was a useless worry.
"No matter what other people said about me, she reacted angrily and said, 'I see.' Because the Lady who was the center of the mansion accepted me so casually, other people gradually began to accept me casually as well."
Thanks to this, Mera's personality became brighter and she had more friends. She said the best thing was not having to see the faces of her haters. Every time she realized she had left the village, she felt so happy that she couldn't control her body.
But one question remained. One day, Mera asked Rose when no one was around. She asked why she picked on her and encouraged her to work at her mansion.
Damian asked right away.
"What did she answer, Young Lady?"
"Well. I don't know the details, but it seemed like she was reminiscing about old memories when she saw me. So she just gave me a chance to leave a place I didn't like. And she also said this. 'The person who will curse will curse no matter what you do,' so if possible, I should act in a way that is more comfortable for me and in the way I want."
Mera still remembers it clearly. The Lady's advice. Mera said with a bright smile.
"It's such a waste to keep suppressing your emotions and giving up on things you want to do because you care about people you don't like."
Damian muttered with a blank face.
"The one I'm more comfortable with and the one I want."
"Yes. So, I hope Damien doesn't pay too much attention to me. No matter how much people swear and swear, I can get a feel for it when I walk in the direction I want to go. Isn't that also true of me, who is right in front of you?"
Mera said, still smiling warmly.
"Damian can do better than me."
"... You're right."
Damien nodded.
"You shouldn't give up on what you want to do because of people you don't like. The person in front of me right now is you."
"That's right, that's the position."
"..."
Damian hesitated as he looked at Mera's face, but then he made a decision.
"I know, Mera."
"Yes, Damian."
Damian said, pointing to the empty glass bowl.
"I'm going to bake cookies again. Do you want to come for tea again tomorrow?"
"Yes!"
Mera nodded without hesitation. The two looked at each other and smiled brightly.

"..."
Belial and I lay side by side on the bed and looked up at the ceiling.
Both of us were very tired because they were busy from morning till night.
But I was too sad to just fall asleep. Belial glanced at me. My eyes were already half closed. Belial pondered and called out to me in a low voice.
"Rose."
My eyes immediately opened.
"Yes, what's going on?"
Belial started laughing without realizing it. No matter how busy she was or how sleepy she was, Rose was so cute and lovely that she answered right away when he called.
Belial asked while gently stroking my head, as if stroking a cat much smaller than himself.
"How about spending some alone time outside tomorrow?"
"Wow, I guess you don't have much work tomorrow?"
"Yes. If I get through tomorrow well, I'll be able to comfortably stay at the mansion for a while. Have I been neglecting you all these years? No matter what happens tomorrow, I'll come home early."
"Then I will finish everything I have to do before you come back. We eat together at a restaurant and drink tea at a pretty cafe."
"Great. Is there anything else you want to do?"
"I also want to go to the bookstore. What about Belial?"
"I want to take a walk somewhere quiet. I really want to talk to you."
"Then I guess I should wear comfortable shoes tomorrow."
The two excitedly made plans for tomorrow.
How long has it been since this date? I said with an excited face.
"I'm so excited for tomorrow that I can't sleep. What else do we do? Should we just watch the play?"
"Rose, I'd like to talk to you more, but I can't."
Belial said with a stern expression.
"I don't want to see you struggling in the morning."
"... I want to refute it, but I can't."
I said as I hugged Belial.
"Sleep well, Belial. And if possible, please appear in my dreams as well."
"That's what I'm going to say."
I fell asleep in Belial's arms.
There were times when I couldn't sleep because I was so excited, but when I was held by Belial, I started to fall asleep easily.
I quickly fell into a deep sleep.

"Miss, wake up! Miss!"
The next morning, Mera exclaimed as she pulled back the curtains. As the dark room became brighter, I had no choice but to get up.
Mera spoke quickly as she opened all the windows.
"Just wait a moment. Becky will bring you a glass of vegetable juice right away. Once you finish drinking that, I'll prepare breakfast right away."
I turned my head and looked at the empty bed next to me. And I asked.
"What about Belial? Is he out already?"
"Yes, he left early in the morning. I think the Duke is really busy these days."
"..."
My expression darkened. I failed to see Belial off for work today as well. It was because I slept a lot in the morning, and I was obsessed with helping Belial get ready and leave without a sound.
I wanted to start my day by seeing Belial's face.
That was the moment I thought so. There was a small note on the table next to the bed.
"What's this?"
"Ah, that's what the Duke left behind."
I quickly opened the note and checked its contents.
'You were sleeping so soundly that I couldn't wake you up. See you later.'
I, who had been reading the note over and over again, suddenly called Mera.
"... Mera."
"Yes, Miss."
"Belial is really amazing."
He makes my heart flutter with just one note.
I buried my face in the note. I don't know what Belial eats and why he's so friendly. Still, tomorrow I will definitely start my day with seeing Belial's face.
I gulped down the juice Becky prepared for my health. The maids looked at me with their proud eyes.
"You're really enjoying it, Young Lady."
"Whenever you say you don't want to use it and eat it."
"Because I now have a reason to live healthy and long."
"This is a truly desirable phenomenon. Come on, Miss. Now you have to eat breakfast."
Mera said cheerfully.
"Are you going to have a hearty breakfast today? Tell the chef right now...."
"No. Prepare a sandwich for me.$
I stood up.
"And drop it off at the office. I want to eat while working."
"Wow, are you that busy?"
"Besides, I decided to go out to dinner with Belial. I have to somehow finish all my work before then."
The three maids' eyes immediately sparkled.
"Wow, it's been a long time since you've been on a date."
"I think you can do it, Lady."
"Cheer up, Lady!"
After changing my clothes, I headed to the office while being cheered on by the three. I then laid Belial's note on my desk so I could look at it whenever I worked, then opened the papers.
The Serenity family's mansion was different in size from the Pale family's mansion, so no matter how much time was spent, there was no end in sight. But for today, no matter what happens, I have to see the end. Everything for a date.
I moved my quill quickly.
"Miss, shall we prepare lunch soon?"
Just as my eyes were getting sore. Mera came into the office and asked. I asked with disbelief in my eyes.
"Is it already lunchtime?"
"Yes. Umm, by the way, Lady. Are you okay? How about getting some rest?"
"No. If that happens, I won't be able to enjoy dates with peace of mind."
"So what are you going to do for lunch?"
I glanced at the plate of sandwiches Mera had left behind in the morning. There was still one piece left. I immediately pointed to the sandwich.
"It's okay because I'm going to eat this."
"Miss... "
Mera covered her mouth. I, who loved sleeping, idling, and eating, had given up on everything and was focusing only on work. The power of love is truly great.
Mera couldn't help but shed tears of emotion today as well.
"I'm done!"
And an hour before Belial returned home, I finally succeeded in finishing the work.
