ICTV- Side Story 6

I change The Villain

"Now, please eat it."

How can her heart not pound when she sees that person?! It's so adorable from head to toe that she's dying?!

Mera looked at Damien pouring tea with ecstatic eyes.

"How about Serenity Mansion?"

"Okay, everyone is nice."

"Lady Pale, no, no. I can't call her that anymore."

Damian looked at Mera's eyes.

"Can I call her Duchess Serenity?"

"Yes, you can call her that."

"She's a Duchess, so I still can't believe it. I even attended the wedding, but I can't believe they are already married and starting a family. It still feels like just yesterday when I suggested to the two of them about having their wedding at a temple."

"It's okay, right now we can still call her Ma'am."

Damian asked.

"How is the Duchess?"

"She cut down on her sleeping time because he had a lot to do."

"Oh my God, even if she cut down on other things, she couldn't cut down on sleep."

"The power of love is truly amazing. They're using the little free time they have to spend with their spouse whom they love so much."

"They must be happy."

"Yes, she looks really happy. It makes me want to get married."

Without realizing it, Mera started chatting like she did with her friends.

"Until now, I was only interested in dating, not in marriage at all. But after seeing the two of them living such a beautiful life, the thought of getting married grew. If I get married in the future, I want to live like the two."

"Is it so?"

"Yes! No matter what happens, I am as sweet as the two... "

Mera belatedly realized that the atmosphere had calmed down. She covered her mouth, but it was already too late.

What should I do?

Mera broke out in a cold sweat. It was never her intention to do so, but what she just said seemed like she was trying to understand what the other person was thinking.

They've become a lot closer than when they first met, but they're definitely not at the stage to have this kind of conversation yet. Mera hurriedly called Damian.

"Damian."

"Hey, Mera."

Damian said with an apologetic look on his face as he put down his teacup.

"I'm sorry, but can you please leave for today? I think I need to reorganize the store soon."

"..."

"Oh, and tell Mouchet that he can hang out some more."

Mera helplessly closed the store door and went out. Iris, who was playing tag, suddenly came running towards her.

"How was it?"

"... I think I made a really big mistake."

"Yes?"

Iris became puzzled by Mera's helpless confession.

"What's wrong. Mera?"

"He'll think I'm a pathetic person who fantasizes about getting married even though we're not even in a relationship yet."

"What happened?"

"... I'll get you something to drink."

Mera took a step. The moment Iris looked at Mera's back with worried eyes, Taksha and Mouchet approached cautiously.

"Iris, you're a tagger, what are you doing here?"

"What's going on with Sister Mera?"

Iris looked at the two in silence, just like before. The two stepped back, startled. Iris turned her head again and looked at Mera's back. She can't believe Mera, who was always full of energy, suddenly became like that.

Iris muttered.

"Of course, the most difficult time is before you become lovers."

"Iris, what's wrong with you too?"

"... Why?"

"Yeah, it's really hard."

Iris sighed once more, and Taksha became confused.

***

"Miss, love is so difficult."

I, who was sitting by the window and enjoying a break with Belle the weasel, opened my closed eyes. As Mera set down the box of cakes she had bought on her way in front of me, she weakly took off her hat.

"What happened?"

"... That's it, Lady."

Mera briefly explained to me what had happened earlier. Mera grabbed her head.

"It's not enough that we haven't become lovers yet, and it hasn't been long since he quit being priest. But to say something like that... Damian will definitely think of me as a burden for even thinking about marrying him."

"...."

"This guy's true chatting instinct. What happens if we chat like we chat with a friend? The atmosphere was really good until those words came out."

Mera buried her face on the table.

"I want to explain!"

"You just need to explain."

"But how do I explain it? Will he give me a chance to explain? What if he thinks I'm a weird person and avoids me because of what happened today?!"

Mera clutched her face.

"The person who was so kind just kicked me out of the store!"

"Maybe it's because he really needs to clean up the store."

"But Mouchet clearly said he was almost done organizing the store..."

"It's almost finished, but not completely finished."

Mera paused.

"...That's right."

"But honestly, there's a good chance that your prediction is correct."

Mera's mood, which had been rising little by little, sank to the ground again. She sat down and screamed.

"... Also!"

"Because we are still more than friends and less than lovers. And in some ways, that person is more decisive than me."

I remember when Damian quit being a priest.

"Because once he thinks it's not right, he boldly gives up on that path."

Mera's face went pale.

"If you boldly gave up because you thought it wasn't a relationship with me...!"

"That won't be it. And in a way, this is just my prediction, so don't jump to conclusions."

"... Thank you, Lady."

Mera buried her face in her knees helplessly. And she blurted out.

"Miss, sorry."

"What?"

"When you two were dating, I urged and encouraged yiu like that. I think I know how you feel now."

I looked at Mera in silence.

"The reason I've been able to take an active role in their problems so far is because it's 'someone else's story."

"..."

"Everyone has times when they don't know the answer, and there are times when they can't do anything. I don't think I understood it at all."

Mera spoke again with her face buried in her knees.

"I'm so sorry, Miss."

"No, Mera."

I hugged Mera from behind.

"I was actually grateful."

"... Really?"

"Huh. Sometimes it takes someone nearby to instigate it to get something started."

I stroked Mera's hair with my palm.

"I was able to gain courage thanks to you and your encouragement. So don't feel guilty, Mera."

"..."

Mera still didn't move, with her face buried in her knees. Then someone knocked on the door.

I asked Mera.

"You don't want to be seen by others right now, do you?"

Mera nodded. I pointed to the dressing room. Mera immediately hid in the dressing room, and I shouted.

"Come in!"

"Excuse me."

As the door opened. Taksha stuck out his head. I woke up.

"Hello, Taksha. What's going on here? I thought you went straight back to the Pale family mansion."

"Damian asked me something."

Damian? I became puzzled.

"Why ask you instead of Iris?"

"I don't know. I don't know the details, but I think Damian is still having a hard time with Iris."

"... But."

Damian, who was once a priest, knew that Iris was a prospective Saint cherished by the priest. Although she still regularly receives training at the temple, Iris hides her status as a Saint outside of other eyes and wants to fit in with everyone.

Mouchet also had a hard time at first because he knew how she felt, but he succeeded in becoming a good friend to Iris.

But it wasn't Damian. He still had a hard time with Iris. Taksha looked around and asked.

"What about Sister Mera?"

"Oh, not now. She was away for a while."

"Is it so? Then, could you please tell Sister Mera for me?"

"What do you mean?"

"Damian said he wants to have tea with sister Mera again tomorrow. If it's okay, he'd like her to come to the flower shop again tomorrow morning?"

"..."

I glanced at the dressing room. And I nodded.

"Okay. I'll make sure to tell her."

"Then I'll just go back to the mansion. Oh, My Lady. You didn't forget to have dinner with me this weekend, right?"

"Of course. Oh, before you go, grab some snacks from the kitchen."

"Wow, thank you, Miss!"

Taksha jumped up and ran out of the room. I said as I sat back down in my chair.

"Did you hear?"

"This isn't a dream, is it?"

Mera asked with a puzzled look on her face.

"Of course not."

"Can I do well? If you make another mistake...."

"Mera. I said it earlier."

I said, gesturing to Mera.

"Sometimes something needs to be encouraged by someone around you to get it started."

Mera approached me cautiously. I held Mera's hand tightly.

"I guess I'll have to instigate it this time."

"Miss..."

"Come back, Mera."

Mera, who was staring blankly at me, was filled with determination in her eyes. Mera nodded her head loudly.

"Yes, Miss! I'll be back!"

The next day, Mera took a deep breath while standing in front of Damien's store.

"It's okay, I can do well."

She chose the neatest clothes she could wear, and she made a fuss with Rika and Becky to style her hair and makeup to best match her clothes.

Mera opened the store door.

"Damian, I'm here."
