SPMB - Chapter 246

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

"Duke Valentino, why did you do this?"

After the funeral of Prince Cassil and Queen Theresa, the Marquis of Mercy came to visit him as a representative of the House of Nobles.

"I've been watching you since you were a little boy. You're not the type of person to do this for no reason. What on earth are you planning?"

"Well...."

Sylvien laughed and held up the chain wrapped around his wrist.

It was a natural question for them. Sometimes, a person who was so rational that people thought he was human suddenly ran wild like a crazy cow.

A little while ago, Orsini Addis came and asked the same question.

However, Sylvien gave him a different answer than the one he had given.

"Actually, there was a girl I was interested in recently."

"What? The duke?"

He narrows his eyebrows as if he heard something very strange. In response, Sylvien raised one eyebrow crookedly.

"I'm a man too."

"Oh, that's right."

"I did it because if I kept Prince Cassil alive, she could die."

"..."

"It's a joke. Smile."

"Yes? You are so mischievous. Even at a moment like this, it's a joke..."

Actually, it's true.

Sylvien laughed quietly. He found himself so funny that he couldn't bear it.

"Duke Valentino, please tell me honestly."

"The Marquis has been watching me since I was young."

"It did."

"So what do you think I will do now?"

Sylvien lowered his eyes and looked at the handcuffs on his wrists. The Marquis' face suddenly became pale, perhaps as if an old memory had passed through him.

"There was more than one bad adult who tried to take away what the little boy had. What are you doing now??"

He grinned.

"I guess everyone is resting peacefully in their graves, right?"

"Yes."

"I feel regretful because one of them is the Marquis's older sister. No. Is this something to celebrate? Thanks to that, the Marquis was promoted to title."

"Duke! Are you threatening me now?"

Marquis Mercy shouted.

"Don't be bluff! You have fallen! You are handcuffed and imprisoned without any weapons...."

At that moment, thud.

The handcuffs fell to the floor.

The Marquis' lips stiffened. Sylvien had an indifferent expression. He even ripped off his handcuffs with one hand and placed them on the floor.

"Weapons were not originally carried. I really hate useless things. It's cumbersome and breaks often."

Sylvien massaged her stiff wrists and stood up. He added bitterly.

"Should I say It's not practical?"

A long shadow stretched over the body of the Marquis Mercy. The Marquis hurriedly shouted to the knights guarding around him.

"What are you doing now!"

The Marquis' words became blurred.

The knights were watching everything.

They were listening.

They just stayed quiet and watched.

"..."

The Marquis swallowed dry saliva. His mind became clear as if water had been poured on his head.

It's already been bought.

"I'm going to report you. From what you did when you were a young boy to what you're threatening me with now, everything......!"

"Why do you say that? I'm sad."

Sylvien grumbled in a frighteningly kind manner.

"Then wouldn't I have no choice but to escape from here?"

"..."

"I'm sure you won't be able to sleep well, Marquis."

Marquis Mercy gritted his teeth.

"What on earth are you asking me to do? You murdered the royal family in front of people, even in front of the people of the empire! The moment I embrace you, I will all be accused of treason together!"

"I know. So please be quiet."

"What?"

"Be quiet and don't do anything."

Sylvien took a step back. He once again buried his body in the dark shadows of the prison.

"Please stay still."

***

The hardest moments make you the strongest.

Sylvien realized that boring saying once again.

It really was. He could have sworn that if he had been a fine master under his guardian's hand, he would have simply broken down at a moment like this.

Eleven years old. He was at an age when he was carrying a huge duchy called Valentino. And Valentino was too dazzling for a young boy to keep alone.

How many hyenas were mesmerized by that dazzling brilliance?

Even counting was meaningless.

In those days, Sylvien learned how to survive. He wasn't particularly difficult. Not if he becomes more vicious, mean, and ruthless than his own enemies.

From the noble ways of nobles to the vulgar ways of men in the back alleys, there was nothing they didn't try to survive.

'They say good people go to heaven, but evil people go everywhere.'

Sylvien hummed a bard's song. He had no interest in heaven.

So, this crisis would end if he showed his talent.

"So?"

Orsini glared at him with displeased eyes.

"Are you asking me to do something like that?"

"Preparations are already in place. All the Duke has to do is carry out the action."

"I'm appalled that you planned something like that. Aren't you really planning to start a rebellion?"

"Not at all."

Orsini did not answer. Instead, he glared at his opponent with harsh eyes.

"Hey, Sylvien. Do you think I would do something like that? No matter how much of a mess I am, I won't do something like that."

Sylvien leaned back against the wall at the harsh criticism. Then he laughed.

"Then don't do it."

There was silence.

"You are truly unlucky."

Orsini stood up.

"Don't misunderstand. You ended up like that while trying to save Kanna, so you're cooperating."

As he was about to turn around, he stopped and said something.

"And carry a sword with you. How long are you going to be so ignorant?"

Anyway, he feels a little relieved that the world sees that that bastard is more barbaric than him. Orsini left the prison grumbling.

It wasn't Just Orsini. Many people secretly visited his prison. Silvienne conducted every move one by one like an orchestra maestro.

Meanwhile, Valentino was steadily exterminated, his property was taken away, and he was sentenced to death.

He was satisfied. Now was the time to create dissonance.

"Well. Joo-hwa came to visit."

As expected, she came today too. Sylvien shook his head at the knight who informed him as if he were a servant.

"Kick her out."

He doesn't want to see her...

It wasn't for the same emotional reasons.

Sylvien planned to push Joo-hwa into a corner.

A little while after that.

"Lady Kanna Addis has come to visit."

Sylvien closed the book he was reading. He looked around.

The finest blankets, wine, etc, that comfortably filled the floor caught his eye.

***

“Sylvienne.”

Kanna couldn't believe the sight before her eyes.

She thought he would be leisurely reading and enjoying the articles by now...

"Silvienne, come to your senses."

He was sitting with his back in the corner of the cell. His chains were wrapped around his upper body, and red blood was flowing from his lips as if he had been assaulted.

"Let me go inside and treat you."

The knight glanced at Sylvien's face without answering. Kanna urged.

"He's tied up anyway so he can't do anything. Please open it."

After a while, the thick iron bars opened.

“Sylvienne.”

As she got closer, he lifted his eyelids. Kanna whispered quietly.

"Are you awake?"

She can't believe that arrogant Sylvien is acting like this. There wasn't even a blanket in the prison. It was an unusually sad sight, so one side of her heart throbbed.

"I brought some medicine just in case... Just wait a moment."

Sylvien watched her work with half-open eyes. A hint of amusement formed on his lips, but it quickly disappeared the moment she raised her head.

"Ah..."

The moment she applied the medicine to his chapped lips, a soft moan escaped his mouth.

"It hurts."

"It's not that I'm being rough, it's that the wounds burst open so badly. This...."

This Kanna trailed off her words.

It looks like a wound that just appeared.

Kanna was silent for a moment and whispered to him.

“Sylvienne.”

"Yes."

"Are you acting by any chance?"

He's planning something, but he doesn't want to arouse suspicion. That may be why he is acting by quietly Ieaning in, pretending to be such a pitiful patient.

"You don't have to act in front of me. I will keep your secret."

Sylvien stared at her. He somehow looked unpleasant. But it was only for a moment, he said with a grin.

Was that guy in on the same thing?

"Did Orsini tell you?"

"No."

"But how did you know?"

"That......."

Kanna was about to say, "I found out by kidnapping your knight and spraying hypnotic scent on his face," but swallowed it.

"It's a secret."

Tap, tap.

The chain that wrapped Sylvien's body broke like a piece of taffy. Kanna was shocked by his calm face.

'Orsini said he was just like me..'

It was true.

Kanna hesitated and then asked quietly.

"What do you plan to do now?"

"That....."

Sylvien continued speaking and then narrowed his eyes.

"It's a secret."

"..."

"Why did you come here?"

"I heard it from Joo-hwa. First of all, I would like to say thank you. I didn't know you thought of me that much."

Kanna spoke clearly.

"But may I ask why you did that?"

"I did this to protect you."

"It's okay, so tell me honestly. Or do you have something to ask of me?"

It was a natural question for Kanna.

Has Sylvien ever helped her for free?

Not even once. There was always a corresponding reason.

Something like responsibility, or something to ask for.

But to save her by taking such risks for something that had no obligation or reward....

How on earth can she believe that?

She's grateful but at the same time. She can't help but feel uneasy.

"I have no other intentions. I just did it to protect you, Kanna."

"So why? You hate me, right?"

"Who says that? Just the opposite."

"The opposite?"

Kanna was taken aback by his rebuttal and muttered.

"What.....So you're saying you like me?"

Sylvien looked down at her in response to the question she asked as if she were talking to herself.

"Of course. No man would turn down a beautiful woman like you.'

Did he think it was a joke?

Kanna responded with a faint smile on her face.

"You refused, you."

Who was the person who chased Joo-hwa away when he took off his clothes before?

When she gave him that look, Sylvien responded seriously.

"It was Joo-hwa, wasn't it? If it were you, I wouldn't have refused."

"I beg your pardon?"

Kanna looked like she had heard a very strange story.

"Don't you know what it means to not take no for an answer in the bedroom?"

"Well. You think I don't know?"

"..."

Kanna stared at him with suspicious eyes. She seemed to have no doubt that the other person did not have such a desire.

It was very funny because it was an unusually naive illusion. So Sylvien laughed.

"Why don't you try it out?"

Kanna opens her eyes wide. She seems surprised.

However, Sylvien pretended not to notice and lowered his head. He whispered mischievously in her ear.

"I told you, right? There is no comparison to that little Prince."

Kanna narrowed her brows.

Little Prince? What is that.....?

'Oh, really Lorenzo?'

In an instant, a memory came to mind. The party hall that faced catastrophe in the Kingdom of Yalden.

At that time, he uttered obscenities that could not be put into words in the ears of those who were dancing together.

'With that face, saying those words.'

Kanna's face heated up as she remembered the memory.

"Sylvienne, where on earth did you learn such vulgar words?"

Then he brushed up his disheveled silver hair and muttered.

"It's more vulgar than you think. Especially in bed."

"Now stop playing with words and talk seriously!"

Sylvien burst out laughing. As she said, it was a joke mixed with half-seriousness, and it was surprisingly fun to make jokes.

Does he like it?

Of course, he likes it.

Kanna was the most attractive woman he had ever seen. She was the fiercest, the fiercest, the most intense.

And Kanna was the most dangerous woman. Even the miasma that seemed to threaten destruction if he was not careful was a great attraction to him.

So, does he love her?

Well.

That was questionable.

However, what is clear is that one day, at some point, Kanna threw a seed into his chest and walked away.

Since it was a barren land where nothing had ever grown, he was just curious about the identity of the seed she had planted for the first time.

What is this? What will it bloom into?

He thought that if he nurtured it carefully under the rain, wind, and sunlight, it would become something very beautiful...

Isn't it natural to not want to lose?

"Well.... What do you think?"

Sylvien smiled lazily and muttered.
