TAPGB - Chapter128
The Abandoned Prince's Ghost Bride
Leah came today again to check on Leopold's condition but was caught by him and had a conversation for about an hour.
"Ahahaha! Really? Lucian said that? So what next?"
Knock knock.
While Leopold was laughing excitedly, there was a knock on the door.
"Your Majesty, Princess Sevans has arrived."
Leopold smiled brightly after hearing Lilith's name.
"I think Lilith is here."
"Do you think your fiancee comes here often?"
"Huh. She comes almost every day. For your information, Lilith came on her own even though I didn't tell her to come. I can interpret this however I like, right?"
Leah couldn't respond in any way other than smiling.
Meanwhile, the door opened and Lilith came in.
"Leopold, I heard you can eat normal food now, so I'll give you your favorite dessert..."
Lilith, who came in with a relaxed expression, froze when she saw Leah.
"Lilith, welcome! The dessert is really nice. Leah, you should eat too."
"No. I'll just go now. You two have a private time."
Leah smiled at Leopold and turned her back on him.
Lilith seemed taken aback at first but then glared at Leah with venomous eyes.
"I thought you might have given up on it because you said you would come visit me every day, but I guess that wasn't the case?"
The two explored each other for a moment, then turned their heads and went their separate ways.
Leah left and Lilith walked up to Leopold with a smile on her face.
"How are you feeling today?"
"It's absolutely the best! What dessert did you bring?"
"Do you like dessert better than me, now?"
"No way, absolutely not!"
Lilith, who had a pouty expression for a moment, smiled and presented the dessert she had brought.
It was Leopold's favorite piece of cake.
"I deliberately brought it in various flavors. The most popular thing these days is this cheesecake."
"......Are there any scones or biscuits?"
Lilith, who was confident, was somewhat taken aback by Leopold's disappointed reaction.
"I bought it because you like cake... I guess your taste buds have changed?"
"Maybe it's because I suddenly grew five years older, but something that isn't sweet makes me cringe. It will still be delicious."
Leopold told his servant to serve the dessert that Lilith had brought on a plate. Lilith tilted her head as she saw Lcopold humming at the sight of the cake.

"Oh, they're both here."
Leah, who had escaped from Leopold's room, had come to a room on the first floor of the Emperor's Palace to ask where Lucian was.
Coincidentally, Caesar was also there.
Leah looked around the room only after spotting the two people and paused for a moment.
There was a large portrait of Lucian hanging right nearby. Not only that, there were people lined up next to him wearing the same clothes but with different faces.
"This is a gallery with portraits of past Emperors".
Just then, Lucian approached.
"So your face is here?"
"First of all, I am the Emperor, and my face is not much different from my brother's."
"But you're the one here."
Lucian widened his eyes for a moment and then smiled lightly.
"Leon, Odell's brother said the same thing. I think Leah has a really good sense of insight. When Caesar saw this, he was confused as to whether he was drawing me or Leopold."
"I am normal and he is strange."
Caesar grumbled, asking why he risked his life and fell.
"Well, since you're the most recent, right next to you..."
Of course, Ruber's face was on the line. Leah stopped when she saw the face of his youth.
"Your twins are exactly like your father."
How come they look so similar?
When I first saw Ruber, I thought they looked a lot alike, but when they were younger, it wouldn't be strange to call them brothers.
Next to him was the figure of Julius. The body that housed the first Emperor before Leopold.
"This person was also sacrificed, right?"
"Maybe so?"
It was unsettling to think that more than half of the portraits here had all been sacrificed to Leon.
The more I walked, the more the person in the portrait changed. There were old people, there were young people, and there were people with non-white hair.
"..."
"You bastard."
Before we knew it, we had reached the very end. This is where the portrait of the first Emperor is located.
In the portrait, he was much older than I remembered, his brown hair had already turned gray, and his golden eyes that used to sparkle with curiosity had become sharp and cold.
Perhaps that portrait is a painting that Leon left just before he died. It was heartbreaking to see Leon, who had changed completely from what they knew.
Caesar regained some of Carcerine's memories and looked at Leon with hatred, but I, who had not yet recovered all of my memories, just looked at the portrait with complicated feelings.
"Tsk. At times like this, my past life is annoying."
Caesar fully accepted the memories of his previous life, Carcerine, but did not identify his existence with himself.
So, I tried to calmly understand the situation from Caesar's perspective as much as possible, but Carcerine's emotions that suddenly rose up interfered with his reasoning.
"If Leopold's awakened soul is Leon, he will just blow away the thrush. How are you today? Do he still look like Leopold?"
Lucian reacted to Caesar's question by trembling. I said without knowing Lucian's reaction.
"Yes. I think it's whiter today than yesterday. Ha. I don't know if I'm doing a good job right now because I haven't had any doubts for three weeks."
There was nothing to be reluctant about during the conversation, and he still seemed like a fool who cared about Lucian. Above all, isn't his soul very bright?
If Leon had disappeared, we could rest assured that a disaster like the past would not be repeated in the future, but for some reason, I continued to have doubts and couldn't let go of the tension.
"What did you talk about with my brother?"
I came to my senses when I heard Lucian's voice coming from next to me.
"He didn't say much. Just how we met, how we fell in love, what I like about Lucian, etc. It just looks like your older brother is an idiot, right?"
It was a little troublesome to ask him what he was so curious about, but overall he seemed interested in me and Lucian's love story.
'I guess it's surprising that your younger brother is dating. A little while ago, I.......'
'Are you planning on marrying Lucian?'
I paused at Leopold's words which suddenly came to my mind. Caesar and Lucian tilted their heads.
"What about a little while ago? What did he say?"
"Oh, it's nothing."
I, who couldn't bear to bring up the topic of marriage, gave it a vague answer.
In fact, I was unable to give a proper answer to Leopold's question.
'What do I want to do?'
Ever since the topic of marriage came up the other day, I've been vaguely thinking about marrying Lucian, but it never seemed like a reality.
It was different from the time when I was worried about whether to accept Lucian's heart or not.
'For now, let's just focus on checking on Leopold.'
Feeling embarrassed for no reason, I turned my thoughts elsewhere. It's already been three weeks since I checked on Leopold's condition. As of yet, there has been no situation that would make me suspect that he is Leon.
'It would be nice to have something to confirm more clearly."
While I was wondering if there was a better way, Caesar's ears perked up.
An unfamiliar sound is heard. It is not a noise heard daily.
in the imperial palace, but rather a very foreign sound.
And that sound...
Caesar's eyes flashed and he momentarily hid me and Lucian behind him.
"Caesar, what's wrong?"
"It's an intruder."
"What?"
Caesar took two steps back, telling us to step back. As a result, the two people had no choice but to step back.
Soon, Caesar pointed to the flame in one hand and the portrait in front of him with the other.
The portrait he pointed to was that of the first Emperor. The portrait rattled under Caesar's touch. Soon the portrait fell from the wall and something appeared.
"Oh my God......"
"It's a door, right?"
There was a hidden door behind the giant portrait. Soon the two also sensed the sound that Caesar had heard.
The sound was coming from right behind that door.
Just when he thought someone was breaking in through that door, Caesar suddenly stopped and let his guard down.
And then he walked up to the door and opened it without hesitation.
"I knew it, Master Caesar?"
It was Javier and the priest who appeared inside the door.
Javier was shocked by the suddenly opened door and was preparing to use black magic.
Soon he looked around in confusion and figured out what was going on.
"That's what happened."
"How are you here?"
"I was investigating an underground tunnel according to His Majesty's orders."
With those words, Lucian immediately understood what was happening.
"No way!"
"It wasn't on the drawings, but it seems like the imperial palace is connected to an underground tunnel."
Javier and the priest and his party first came out of the door and explained what had happened in the underground tunnel.
"There was no fork in the middle. I haven't been able to tour everything yet, so there may be other places connected to the tunnel besides this one."
"If I hadn't looked around the tunnel, I would never have dreamed that something like this existed in the palace."
"These bastards have dug a very disgusting hole. Anyway, I guess they are a bunch of shady bastards."
"It could be used as an air raid shelter or surprise route in case of emergency. We will check all routes as quickly as possible."
Lucian was lost in thought for a moment.
"Javier, you know that Leopold has already woken up in the old world, right?"
"Yes, so I have recently been planning contact with His Majesty Leopold."
"If Leopold is not the first Emperor they followed, what will happen to the warlocks?"
The collusive relationship between the imperial family and the temple. It was actually a collusion between the first Emperor and a warlock.
However, now that it is almost a given that Leopold is missing Lion, what will happen to the temple that has lost its leader?
"Well. The reason warlocks followed the first Emperor for a long time was because they were able to hide their identities and blend in with the people. But if they lose their focus..."
Javier, who was imagining the future, swallowed his saliva.
"It's probably one of two things. Either they are still holding their breath and hiding their true identities from being revealed, or they are taking revenge for their lost leader."
The latter was truly a terrible thing that should not have happened. After chatting briefly, Javier and his group entered the underground road tunnel.
You cannot wander around the imperial palace without being allowed to enter the palace.
A gloomy chill lingered in the tunnel where the priests had left. Caesar, who was staring at it, said.
"You said there was only one road here, right?"
"Yes, I said go straight from the underground tunnel to here."
"Then...... Yellow-white flame bloomed in Caesar's hand. A yellowish flame that is backward compatible with a white flame. Although it is not as strong as white flame, it has the power to purify evil.
Soon he created a magic circle with the flame extracted from the yellow-white flame. And they were installed here and there inside the entrance and on the tunnel side.
"What are you doing right now?"
"Setting a trap. This is the path used by the warlock, Leon. If they manage to sneak into the imperial palace through this route, we will be able to prevent them to some extent. I intentionally made it to only respond to black magic.
If an ordinary person passes by, it has no effect, but if the slightest hint of black magic is felt, the magic circle will activate on its own.
"Oh, I guess I'll have to tell Javier later."
If Javier passes through here, he will be caught in a trap.
Lucian was surprised that he could only detect black magic, so he asked how it was made.
Unfortunately, rather than a detection ability, the power of purification took advantage of the nature of reacting to black magic, so it had the disadvantage of not reacting unless black magic was used.
Moreover, this power was an ability passed down from generation to generation within the Red Dragon clan, so it was not something that a mere human could learn.
Leah, who was quietly watching this, remembered something.
"Caesar, did Leon learn black magic?"
"Ues? Leon? He has no talent for magic. What is black magic?...."
Caesar, who was trying to speak casually, remembered something and stopped speaking.
A vision he saw in the basement. Leon clearly used black magic there. Above all else, he couldn't get close to Carcerin, who was burning with white flames.
"Could it be that Leon learned black magic?"
"Javier, who has no talent for magic, learned it, so Leon would have been able to become a warlock. Caesar, please do me one favor."
What Leah asked him to do was to install the same magic in the imperial palace that was installed in the underground tunnel a little while ago.
"Okay. I will install it around the Emperor's palace."
Now, we only have one week to check Leopold's body. During this week, Lia planned to check in more earnest whether Leon's soul existed.
"And come back to the mansion with me."
"Why are you there?"
"I have to go and take care of something."
To do that, she had one more thing to prepare.
