 TAPGB - Chapter 118

The Abandoned Prince's Ghost Bride

Seeing Carcerine and Leon talking seriously. Arya quietly spoke to Odell.

"Are you okay like this?"

"What?"

"You were reluctant to bring in new colleagues."

Odell blinked and then burst into laughter.

"Ha ha ha! That's only for people who don't know. Carcerine stayed with me for four days. At least he's not the one trying to stab us in the back. It might be better to just ignore it and act alone."

That's definitely true. It's not another race, it's a red dragon.

"And it's been a while since I've seen you so excited. Oh, of course! Arya, I was excited when you joined."

Odell looked at Leon with a happy smile.

"I always felt sorry that I was a burden to my brother. When my parents passed away and it was just the two of us left, my older brother must have had a hard time leading me, was a coward."

"..."

"I'm glad I was able to help my brother in this way!"

The smiling face was pure. Life must not have been easy so far, but it was amazing that he still maintained his innocence.

Well, that's why it caught my eye.

Arya watched Odell's profile as he looked at Leon happily.

"I will kill not only the Lord but also all the humans there. If you don't agree to this, there is no alliance."

"Great. Please do so."

"Now, wait a minute! What do you mean! You're killing them all!"

However, for a moment, as a scary deal was exchanged between the two, Odell got scared and intervened.

"No matter how bad it is, is it still necessary to kill an innocent person?"

Odell even puts a blood vessel on their neck to persuade them.

"No, I preached."

Arya laughed as she saw the two of them being scolded by the weakest human here.

A month later, news spread throughout the country that the Lord who had been engaging in profiteering and tyranny had been overthrown by a man named Leon who appeared riding a red dragon.

It was the first mark left in Leon's biography.

Ah...

Leah.

Leah!

The small sound gradually became louder. Leah, who had been struggling in unconsciousness, wriggled.

Leah!

"Huh!"

Leah's eyes flashed at the sound of a voice reaching her ears. Caesar's face appeared right in front of her nose.

"You finally woke up! Come to your senses, Leah!"

"W-what......"

Leah stood up in confusion and looked around.

"It was definitely in the basement."

"This is not the time! Leah, we have to go back to the imperial palace quickly!"

"What?"

Leah was dumbfounded when she saw him desperately pulling her hand. Right in front, Age was performing a teleportation magic circle.

"What's going on!"

"I'll go and talk to you, so let's go back to the imperial palace first."

"Now, wait a minute!"

Leah was wondering what kind of lightning this was, and as she was wandering around, she found some materials lying around. And in between, one different thing stood out.

"Just take this with you!"

What Leah picked up was a painting by Henri Reifle. Holding it in her arms, Leah instantly teleported to the imperial palace.

After a moment of dizziness, Caesar grabbed her hand and started running. Age also ran side by side.

"He was the first Emperor."

"What?"

"Please explain what's going on!"

"The soul in Leopold's body! The first Emperor has been living by stealing the bodies of his descendants!"

Leah's heart sank.

"If we continue like this, Leopold is in danger. It's too late for us to do anything, but we have to find a way somehow!"

As Age spoke urgently, Leah keenly felt that the current situation was critical.

"It will be difficult to identify the first Emperor because his memory is not yet complete, but we will try to find Leopold and other souls as much as possible..."

"No, that's okay."

Caesar and Age turned around at the sound of Leah's calming voice.

"Some of my memories have come back. I can tell them apart."

With those words, Leah took the lead. Caesar and Age looked at each other, nodded, and followed behind Leah.

Before long, they got closer to the room where Leopold was. However. when they saw the knights and servants gathered outside, the three stopped and looked at each other.

"No way."

"Something happened, right?"

The blood drained from Leah's entire body and she approached where they were.

When the knights saw the three men, they raised their spears.

"You cannot enter from here."

"What happened inside?"

"Get out of the way. There is something important that needs to be checked right away."

The knights hesitated for a moment at Age's words, but they did not easily give way.

"Why are you making such a fuss when you tell me to get out of the way?!"

When Caesar, who had no patience, exploded and tried to enter, the knights pushed him with a spear.

"Get back! No one is allowed in without His Majesty's order."

"No, but these bastards..."

Caesar's spirit rose unusually. For a moment, the atmosphere became an instant confrontation.

"What's the fuss?"

The door opened and James appeared. He opened his eyes wide when he saw Leah and her group confronting the knights.

"James, I need to check something right now. Let me in."

"Of course, of course. Take away your spear."

When James gave permission so easily, the knights were dumbfounded and put down their spears. Going inside, Caesar didn't forget to shoot the knights.

"How is Leopold doing now? Maybe something goes wrong..."

For a moment, Leah, who spoke quickly out of urgency, froze at the scene unfolding before her eyes.

And it was the same for Age and Caesar who followed behind.

"Leah."

Lucian found Leah and stood up. Leah looked at Leopold, who had woken up with confused eyes, and Lucian, whose eyes were red.

"He's awake, Leah. My brother overcame it."

Lucian was happy with tears in his eyes. Harry and Dio were also smiling brightly.

'Has Leopold really woke up?'

Looking at the reaction, it looks like Leopold himself has woken up.

"Ha.... I took it a long time. Nothing happened."

Caesar sighed in relief, rubbed his chest, and walked over to the bed, while Leah remained frozen and looked at Leopold.

Leopold was also staring at her.

"Don't let your guard down."

At that time, Age whispered to Leah.

"There is no way that a mere young soul can easily defeat a soul that is over 300 years old. This means that if he lived by moving his body for a long time, he could act to the point where it could fool others. You have to check the soul yourself."

Leah met Age's eyes and nodded with a stern face.

And finally, she approached Leopold.

Leopold could not take his eyes off Leah.

When Leah, who had not let down her guard, narrowed her eyes at the explicit gaze.

"Ah..."

An exclamation came out of Leopold's mouth.

"Who is this person? You're quite a beauty, aren't you?"

Leopold's playful tone, which Leah often saw, came out.

Lucian chuckled and pulled Leah's shoulder.

"He's my lover. Brother, do you remember Leah?"

"Ah! Really, a ghost bride?"

"Yes, Leah is the ghost bride. I'm not lying when I say she's more beautiful than anyone else, right?"

"Wow, look at this guy..."

When Leopold teased Lucian by saying that he was great, Lucian smiled brightly.

Leah's heart was shaken for a moment because the two looked exactly the same as they did five years ago.

However, Leah calmed down when she felt Age's gaze behind her.

"This is my first time greeting you like this. Nice to meet you, Leopold."

"I'm really happy to meet you. Honestly. I used to not understand every time Lucian talked about Leah, but now I understand 100%."

The way he smiled showing his teeth was clearly different from Lucians.

"I'm sorry to tell you this when I just woke up, but do you remember anything about what it was like right before you fell?"

"Leah, that's later..."

Lucian tried to stop her, but when he saw Leah's determined expression and Age holding her arm, he sensed something was wrong.

"Before I collapsed... Honestly, when I opened my eyes, I was surprised to see that everyone's faces had changed. I just closed my eyes and when I opened them, five years had passed."

"So, you don't remember what happened before then?"

"Uh... I think I had a coming-of-age ceremony at the temple."

When the coming-of-age ceremony was mentioned, people's faces stiffened.

"What did you do. Ah, I think I was baptized by Grandfather and drank the wine that was poured for me."

"After that?"

"I don't remember anything after that."

'Well. since it is a ritual to change the soul, he could have been put to sleep with drugs.'

Leah flicked her lips and looked at Leopold, who was thinking deeply.

"Did you ever have a dream while you were falling down?"

Leah certainly encountered Leopold's soul once in his mind. If so, Leopold would be able to remember it in some way.

But Leopold shook his head.

"Sorry, I'm not sure about that."

"Okay. If it's okay, may I check on your condition? Even if I look like this, I'm still a wizard."

"Good."

When Leopold willingly gave permission, Leah held his hand and closed her eyes.

And so that he would not feel uncomfortable, she secretly infiltrated his mind.

Then, a landscape that was clearly different from before unfolded.

In the past, it was a dull color mixed with black and white, but now it was shimmering and radiating pure white light.

It was a much clearer and brighter white than Leopold's soul that she saw for the first time.

'Did Leopold really win?'

But, without a doubt, a clear answer lay before her eyes.

After looking around several times, Leah returned to reality.

When she opened her closed eyes, she saw Leopold looking at her with clear golden eyes.

"It's okay. You're healthy."

"Thank God. I'm still a bit tired right now. So I wondered if there was something wrong with my body..."

"It's been a while since you woke up, but I think it's because you overexerted yourself. Lie down first."

Leopold slowly lay down on the bed, supported by Leah and Harry. As soon as his head hit the pillow, his eyes began to blur.

"I want to see Lilith too...."

Lucian trembled at his mumbling words, but before he knew it, Leopold's eyes closed and a small breathing sound was heard.

Harry carefully covered the blanket up to Leopold's neck.

"Leopold needs a good rest, so everyone goes. I will stay here."

Since huddled together here wouldn't help Leopold, they left his room, leaving only Harry behind.

They moved to Lucian's empty office.

As soon as the office door closed, Age turned to Leah.

"How was it?"

"It was pure white."

"So you're saying it's Leopo ld?"

People who did not know the truth tilted their heads as they saw unknown words being exchanged.

In particular, Lucian recalled Leah's strange attitude from the moment she met Leopold.
