TAPGB - Chapter 94

TAPGB - Chapter 94

 The Abandoned Prince's Ghost Bride

"It looks like at least some conscience remains."

From the moment Lilith spoke of love. Lucian felt like he wanted to twist that thin neck right away.

"Lilith is the prettiest and most adorable child I've ever met! So you should never fall in love with her, got it?"

When Lucian thinks back to the time when Leopold showed off his love for his fiancée, he goes beyond hating Lilith and starts resenting Leopold for loving her.

'You don't have eyes to see, brother.'

His brother's fiancée, whom he said he loved so much, is whispering to Lucian that she loves him.

If she saw 'Leopold' rather than 'Lucian' in him, he was willing to accommodate that.

However, the worst unfolded.

What was in front of him was neither his brother's lovely fiancée nor the Emperor's only fiancée, but an ugly woman who knew everything but pretended not to know and was trying to satisfy her desires.

"If you want to love like that, go out and tell the guys who are wagging their tails at you. They will give you everything, including their liver and gallbladder."

"Your Majesty..."

"It's better. Now I don't have to look at you anymore. The only reason I've maintained this engagement until now is because of you. However, if something like today happens again, then I will really break off the engagement."

Lilith widened her eyes. In the future she envisioned, there was no life other than an Empress's.

"Wow, do you really think Leopold will just watch that?!"

Lilith struggled as her path to the future was suddenly cut off.

Just a minute ago, she whispered her love to Lucian, not Leopold, but now that she was cornered, she turned to Leopold.

Lucian was shocked at that sight.

"If you kick me out, Leopold won't be quiet! Even though we're like this, we've been seeing each other since we were kids."

"Even if he finds out the truth, I don't know if he will take you back as his fiancée. If it were me, no matter how much I liked you, I would probably lose affection for you."

Lilith's eyes wavered. Lucian saw it and was convinced. That he knew Leopold's feelings long ago.

He really couldn't believe that she had Lucian in her heart even though she knew so clearly.

Does this woman have absolutely no remorse?

Lucian didn't want to be in the same room with her anymore.

"I don't mind you stirring up social circles as the future Empress and spreading the lie to others that you are in my favor."

Lilith blushed with embarrassment.

"But, next time, if you touch me without even knowing the subject..."

Lucian opened the door, glanced back, and glared at Lilith with his beautiful golden eyes.

"At that time, it will be an oath, and I will make sure that you will never enter the imperial palace again."

Lilith's lips trembled and eventually, her eyes filled with tears. Lucian, who saw it as nothing more than a pretense, left her alone and left the parlor.

Lucian closed the door and let out a deep sigh.

It was to calm the anger boiling inside.

"You spoke too harshly, Your Majesty."

James, who was guarding the front of the living room, said.

"I think this is a lot of consideration."

"But aren't she a Princess? She probably hasn't heard anything that she doesn't like even once, but I don't know if it's taking a toll on her mind and body"

As soon as the board was laid out, James was so shameless in his ignorance that it made Lucian laugh for a moment.

Lucian, who felt relieved for a moment, massaged the back of his sore neck.

"Anyway, I'm tired after meeting that woman."

"But you gave her a warning today, so I don't think something like this will happen again."

"Well, that's fine."

"Is something stuck?"

James tilted his head at the meaningful reaction.

"My threat may work right now, but as you said, there is a good chance that she will forget about it later as time passes since she is a no-nonsense person."

"When did I say that?"

"Well, if she forgets my warning and goes on a rampage. I'll be grateful. I can use that excuse to break off my engagement, right?"

Lucian raised the corners of his mouth and walked lightly, saying he had to go see Leah.

James, who was watching the scene, had that thought for a moment.

'It seems like the Princess is hoping for an accident.'

James thought that Lucian was also a cruel person and felt pity for Lilith.

***

"With a temper tantrum."

"Are you talking to me now?"

Unable to resist Caesar's anger, I followed him out of the room and raised my eyebrows when he suddenly muttered.

Caesar narrowed his eyes with a mysterious expression.

In fact, Caesar had just come out after finding out that Lucian's fiancée had come to the imperial palace and was curious about how Leah would react if she saw the two of them together.

However, Caesar, who realized that there was a problem between the two with the dragon's excellent hearing, lost steam in an instant.

'Rather, if I go now, I think only good things will happen to Lucian.'

Caesar thought for a moment and shook his head.

"No, nothing."

"You've been strange since a while ago."

As Caesar listened to Lucian and his fiancee, his behavior felt unnatural. Leah, who didn't know that fact, just felt that Caesar was strange today.

"Let's just look at the garden."

"Weren't you planning on going to Lucian?"

"I was going to do that, but I guess he's busy right now. He's being really stressed out by Harry?"

"Okay, you shouldn't interfere with work."

Fortunately. Leah didn't find the vague remark strange.

The two, whose destination changed midway, wandered around the vast imperial palace garden.

Perhaps because the place where the two were staying was the Emperor's Palace, there was no one except the employees who had seen their faces a few times.

"I feel it again, but it feels so desolate."

"Here?"

"Yes, I know I shouldn't meet too many people, but a place this large is empty."

"I don't know. If you think about it that way, isn't the place you lived in more desolate? It's not as big as here, but the mansion is quite big, but you've been living alone."

"That's what I'm saying. I know how lonely and lonely it is to be alone in that big place."

Shooooo...

The wind blew, causing Leah's black hair to flutter in the air. For a moment, her appearance seemed to overlap with when she was a ghost.

"Lucian, does that guy think that even if everyone else in the world disappears, having you is enough?"

"Are you comforting me now?"

"Rather than comforting, I was telling the truth."

When Caesar added that Lucian was only looking at her, Leqh burst out laughing. She had a lonely expression on her face, but she looked better than before.

"No, Caesar. Wouldn't Lucian like you too?"

As Leah spoke, wiping away tears. Caesar's eyes widened.

He automatically pictured the three of them together, including himself, like they did when they were kids.

Caesar had a smile on his face.

Heng, how wary is the kid of him these days.

"I'm glad I don't have to kick him out just to be alone with you."

"Oh, no way."

"Tsk, tsk, you still don't know Lucian."

Wow. He's pissed.

"At least I don't want to hear that from you."

Caesar protested, asking what that meant. The two were bickering as usual.

The employees who were doing their jobs from a distance glanced at the two.

One was an unidentified woman brought in by the Emperor himself, and the other was a man who was presumed to be in a high enough position to be spoken of highly by the prime minister.

They know that they are both honored guests of the Emperor, but they have one more thing in common...

"It's great for the eyes."

"I thought Your Majesty was the most handsome in the Empire, but that wasn't the case."

"Honestly, it is no exaggeration to say that I entered the imperial palace to see His Majesty's face."

"Is it just His Majesty? Prime Minister Harry, Captain Dio, and even Master Age, who are by his side, all possess a beauty that is not easily seen anywhere else."

"Ha, I want to be among them too."

"Oh my God, you'll turn to dust in an instant?"

The job satisfaction of maids working in the Emperor's palace was the highest compared to other palaces. The reason is that many things are good for the eyes.

After seeing the Emperor and other handsome men once a day, the fatigue of the day was completely gone.

Moreover, the difficulty of the work was relatively easy compared to other places.

Due to the nature of the imperial palace, there were many things to take care of, but since their superiors were not as strict as ordinary nobles, there was not much stress.

In addition, when a new handsome man was added this time, the happy smiles on their faces did not disappear.

In particular, Leah is such an outstanding woman that they can't help but stare at her, so they do their best not to lose their attention without realizing it. If they lose their mind and even stare...

"What are you doing now?"

"D-Captain Dio!"

This is because sharp criticism is flying in.

A new recruit who was assigned to the imperial palace for the first time today caught Leab's attention without even knowing that Dio was coming.

As Dio looked at him with a low expression in his eyes, the rookie felt his sweat cool down.

"Rookie, keep your head straight. If it were Your Majesty who was here instead of me, your head would be blown off right now."

The newcomer's face became thoughtful at the sincere words, without any hint of laughter.

"I'm sorry, Captain! I will correct it! "

Since you're new, I just look at it this once. But, you shouldn't do that again. In particular, don't pay unnecessary attention to Leah over there."

Don't look, don't listen, pretend you don't exist, and just focus on what you have to do.

"If you see Leah having wrong thoughts, I think you know even if you don't say it."

"Yes! Captain! I will keep this in mind!"

Dio looked at the newcomer, sweating profusely and speaking with enthusiasm.

He headed toward where Leah and Caesar were and cleaned up the mess of employees.

As Dio walked away, the newbie let out a sigh of relief. The senior next to him clicked his tongue.

"That's why I told you to be careful."

"Well, it's not because I want to do that either. What should I do if my eyes keep getting caught?!"

"She certainly looks like a goddess who has descended. But, she is His Majesty's woman. His Majesty would be displeased just by looking at someone like us. You don't want to lose your head over something like this, do you?"

"Yes."

The newbie became sullen. But it wasn't that he didn't know his feelings.

"At times like this, I envy you, Captain."

Hearing the senior's words, the newcomer raised his head. Dio was seen approaching Leah and Caesar in the distance.

It was only possible to get that close to the two people when everyone else was watching them from afar.

Dio was also a man who stole the hearts of many maids, but when he stood in front of them, he felt like he had been reduced to an ordinary person.

At that time, Leah and Caesar were laughing as if they were playing a prank on Dio, and Dio was seen sweating and struggling. Seeing that, the senior let out a laugh.

"Even the captain is like that. How dare we even talk to them?"

"... This is the first time I've seen him so upset."

Even though Dio was a commoner, he was trusted by the Emperor and was an example to many knights due to his outstanding charisma and skills.

That's why it's such a mysterious being that knights want to get close to it, but they can't treat him carelessly.

When he saw them like that, he thought they were the same person.

"Still. I envy you, Captain. Since he's at the level of a captain, shouldn't he be able to say something in front of them? If I were there, I wouldn't even be able to open my mouth."

"I admit that."

The senior shook his head. The two people looked at the three people in the distance with curious eyes. What on earth are they talking about?

It unleashed many imaginations.

***

"Wow, that little kid is now acting like an adult?"

"Sigh. Caesar, stop teasing me. And then I'm going to cry."

Caesar was in the middle of teasing Dio after hearing him scolding the new recruit. Next to him, Leah tried to stop him,  but he couldn't stop the corners of his mouth from twitching.

Caesar thought it would be better to laugh openly.

"I want to go home."

Contrary to the knights' imagination, the reality was that Dio was treated like a child by Leah and Caesar.
