SPMB - Chapter 167
My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone
The next morning, the doctor came to check on Kallen.
"What are you doing all of a sudden?"
Kalen said as he bit them.
"Go out and see. I have to go see my sister."
The doctor's eyes widened at those words.
"What did you say just now, Kallen?"
"I said I was going to see my sister."
"Unbelievable."
Kalen frowned. Why are you doing this?
But he had no time to worry, so he hurried into the bathroom. He planned to go see Kanna after getting clean.
But the moment he looked in the mirror, everything stopped.
"..."
In the mirror, a white-haired young man was looking at him in surprise.
"My hair.....,"
His red hair is as white as a snowflake.
Kalen was shocked. He couldn't believe it. How can his hair change like this overnight?
'What on earth?'
Kalen stumbled out of the bathroom. He then ran into Isabelle who was waiting for him.
"Brother, are you crazy?"
"Isabelle."
"I heard you said you were going to see Kanna? What does that mean?"
Isabelle's face turned pale. Kalen couldn't understand that reaction.
What's wrong with going to see his sister?
No, more than that.
"Isabel, my hair has turned white."
".... Brother."
"Where are the doctors? I guess I'll have to call them again. I guess I ate something wrong. My hair changes like this...."
As he grumbled, Isabelle's shoulders began to tremble. She mumbled with tears streaming down her face.
"Kalen Addis, you are so crazy."
"What?"
"The hair changed that way because my brother was so shocked."
Isabelle said in tears.
"I? Why?"
"Because Kanna is dead."
"You saw sister Kanna commit suicide, so that's why it happened. So please stop talking nonsense and come to your senses!"
In an instant, a memory struck him like a thunderbolt.
Beach at night. The sound of waves.
And...
"I'd rather die."
Huh.
Kalen took a sharp breath. Dizziness struck his head. He stumbled and placed his hands on the wall. In an instant, sweat gathered on his forehead.
Yes. His sister died.
He killed her.
The moment he realized, his eyes became hot as if they were burning.
Kanna committed suicide.
She was stabbed in the chest with a dagger and died before his eyes. His own selfishness drove her to her death.
He did not consider Kanna's wishes at all. He valued his own desires over her thoughts, her heart, and her position.
The result is this.
His own excessive greed pushed Kanna to the edge of the cliff, and eventually, she fell down.
And then it was lost forever.
“Kalen.”
At that time, a voice like a breeze passed by his ears.
Kalen's blurred vision suddenly becomes brighter. It seemed as if light was pouring out of the darkness. He slowly raised his head.
Kanna was leaning against the doorway and smiling. Kallen muttered, staring at her blankly.
"Sister?"
Kanna giggled and ran out of the room as quickly as a cat.
"Sister!"
Kalen hurried after her. Isabelle hurriedly grabbed him from behind, but he shook her off.
"Sister, wait a minute!"
At the end of the hallway, Kanna was running, her black hair flowing.
Kalen hurried after her.
"Wait, sister!"
But Kanna did not wait. She left the mansion, ran down the street, and entered the cathedral.
"Sister!"
Kallen shouted as he ran through the crowd of people. To his voice, Kanna never looked back. She climbed the stairs of the cathedral until she reached the top of the spire.
"Sister."
As Kalen stood there, the wind blew past his cheeks. Kallen looked down. A tall spire overlooking the capital of the empire. Beyond the precarious railing, Kanna was floating in the air. Kalen's eyes heated up at that sight. His tears streamed down.
"Sister."
He said while crying.
"Sister, I was wrong."
Kanna doesn't answer.
Why doesn't she answer?
He would give anything to hear her voice one more time.
"I was really wrong. Please forgive me."
Then Kanna smiled brightly. She whispered, extending her hand towards Kalen.
"Take my hand, Kalen."
"Sister."
"The coffin I'm lying in is too narrow and cold, right? Besides, it's dark so I can't see anything. I'm really lonely and scared. So please stay with me, huh?"
Those words made Kalen's heart feel painful as if it were split into several pieces.
How scary it must be. How lonely it must be.
When he thought of Kanna, who would be lying alone forever under that dark earth, he felt so pitiful that he couldn't breathe.
"Don't worry, sister."
Yes, he should stay by her side. He needs to hold her hand. He must tell her not to be afraid anymore because no matter where she goes or wherever she is, he will be by her side.
"I will be by your side."
It doesn't matter whether she's dead or alive.
Kanna, who must have been lonely all her life, cannot be left alone even after death.
"I will always be by your side."
Kalen walked towards her and held out his hand. And he confessed.
"I love you."
Finally, his hands overlapped with hers.
Kalen thought they overlapped.
***
Many people witnessed Kalen Addis climbing the spire.
Not long after that, something crashed down. The floor beneath the spire was covered in red blood stains.
Everyone guessed that the owner of the blood was Kalen Addis. But his body was nowhere to be found.
As a result, all kinds of speculations and sightings were rampant. Among them, several theories were representative.
One theory was that street beggars stole the body.
The clothes he was wearing were very expensive. So they dragged his body away, took off his clothes, and stole them.
"Yes, my friend said he saw it. They say a group of beggars stole his clothes and threw his body in the river!"
Another is that the Black Apostles appeared and stole the body.
"Isn't he a descendant of a paladin? It is clear that he is trying to conduct dangerous experiments using sexual power."
And one more thing.
There was also a story that Kalen was seen getting up and staggering away somewhere.
"Really! I saw it clearly with my own two eyes! He walked somewhere with blood dripping from his head!"
However, because this was an unrealistic story, it was quickly buried. Amidst all sorts of disagreements, a funeral was held without a body.
A week after the funeral.
Orsini Addis, who went missing, has returned.
***
"You're here."
Orsini Addis entered the matriarch's office.
Despite being missing for several days. What was he doing all this time?
Orsini's complexion was haggard. He smiled crookedly.
"They said Kalen is dead."
"For now."
"Is he really dead? They said they couldn't even find the body."
Alessandro was silent.
All personnel in Addis were released to search, but Kalen could not be found. Both his corpse and his living body. That's why he had no choice but to say this.
"If he's alive, he'll come back someday."
"Damn you, you idiot."
Alessandro studied Orsini closely. It only took a few seconds for him to find out.
"You can't use your right arm."
"..."
Orsini did not answer. But when he realized that he couldn't fool the man in front of him, he just admitted it.
"You're right."
Alessandro stood up and walked towards Orsini. He stood right in front of him. As he approached closely, Orsini became nervous without realizing it. He had never been this close to his father before.
Alessandro silently lifted Orsini's right arm and examined it.
Orsini observed him like that. He was surprised once again. Looking at him up close, he realized that Alessandro really looked like a young man about his age.
He had smooth skin, and a sturdy physique, and anyone could see that he was full of the youthful glow of a twenty-year-old.
And then he discovered many things...
Everything that made up Alessandro, including his height, physique, the shape of his grip, and even the tendons on his forearms, was surprisingly similar to his own.
They really looked so similar that Orsini thought they might be twins.
"Why?"
"What do you mean?"
"Why can't you use it?"
Orsini averted his gaze in silence. The aftereffects of surviving after taking poison given by a damn witch. It was simple, but he had no intention of saying this much.
"It's an aftereffect of the poison."
How did he know that?
Orsini looked at Alessandro with suspicious eyes and responded bluntly.
"I'm ambidextrous, so it doesn't matter if I can't use one or the other."
"It will be more inconvenient than you think."
"Yes?"
"It feels like you're paralyzed from my shoulders to my fingertips, so whenever you move, it flutters helplessly like a string attached to your body. It will be especially annoying when using a sword."
"Shit."
Orsini frowned. Then he pulled out the sword from his waist in one motion. He struck his right arm without hesitation.
He was planning to cut off the arm that was in the way, this damned right arm.
But the next moment, Kang!
Alexlssandre's hand broke the blade.
Everything happened in an instant. Orsini opened his eyes wide.
"Don't be hasty, Orsini."
His father, who performed a ridiculous stunt, casually threw the broken blade onto the table.
There wasn't even a single scratch on his hand...
"Go to rehab. You never know. Maybe you can use it again someday."
"How do you know that?"
Alessandro raised the corner of his mouth.
"It's an experience."
"Yes?"
"Now that Kalen is gone, you should take over."
Orsini frowned at the sudden topic. It was something he had expected since he had heard Kalen's story.
"Of course, you don't want to. But there will be no escape, Orsini."
Alessandro placed his hand on his son's shoulder.
"Just like I did."
Addis is falling apart
