ICTV - Chapter 71

I changed The Villain

I didn't take it. Instead, I confessed.

“I tried to make any excuse to put off meeting you even one more day.”

Belial almost dropped his fork.

“...Then now.”

"Yes."

I nodded.

“I wanted to meet you sooner, no matter what excuse I had.”

I'm glad I put down my fork right away. I almost looked ugly. Belial hurriedly turned his head to the left.

“Why are you doing this?”

“Don’t look. I look really ugly right now.”

“Who? You?”

Until now, many people have tried to escape from Belial's expectations by any means possible, but none of them succeeded. However, for me, breaking Belial's expectations was like everyday life.

Belial took a slow, deep breath and finally made eye contact with me again.

“...I don’t know what happened in those few days.”

I confessed honestly.

“Well, I met Edgar at the festival.”

“...Him?

I nodded.

“Yes. That Ed.”

“Why was he there?”

“That person takes care of a child named Iris. He said he came because he wanted to show the child the festival.”

“I have heard of Iris. They say she is a very bright child.”

The conversation stopped for a moment. I looked at Belial's thoughts.

“Last time, you said it would be okay if it were Edgar, so I went to see him, so if you’re displeased...”

“No. Why would I do that?”

Belial threw up his hand.

“You don’t have any selfish interest in him. You just wanted to get help.”

"That's right. He doesn’t have any interest in me at all.”

Belial responded in a slightly dry tone.

“Of course it is.”

Edgar is a person who treats everyone equally, regardless of gender or age. Even though Edgar contacted so many people, he never caused a scandal.

“He listened to my concerns for a very long time.”

Because everyone knows just by looking at the atmosphere. How does Edgar treat people?

Belial has seen it himself right now. Edgar standing face to face with a Young Lady

'It's okay, Young Lady. Eat comfortably.'

The Lady was constantly rubbing the area around her eyes with a handkerchief, and Edgar was comforting her affectionately.

Belial could not help but be impressed by that sight. No matter how bad you tried to think of them, they were nothing more than a believer and a priest going to confession.

Even if you think about it in a bad way...

Belial looked at Rose in front of him. Rose was only focused on herself. That feels so good to him.

Belial passed the matter over like last time.

“I’ll definitely have to say thank you at the charity party. It must be thanks to him that your expression became so relaxed. What should I do in return..."

“Belial.”

Rose suddenly called Belial. Belial stopped what he was saying.

“Why are you doing that?”

“Where is that veil from last time?”

Veil? Why is she suddenly looking for that?

Belial was puzzled, but he continued to tell the story.

“It’s still in my room. Should I ask someone to bring it?”

Rose shook her head.

“I want to go get it myself.”

“Then let’s go together.”

The two headed to Belial's room. Belial squinted at Rose. It was the same expressionless face as usual, but the feeling was completely different. What on earth did they talk about that made Rose change like this?

Belial was impressed.

“It’s amazing how people can change in such a short period of time.”

“I don’t think that’s what you want to say.”

"...I haven't changed. I'm just..."

As always, the moment Belial was about to respond humbly, Rose grabbed his arm. And she said it clearly.

“It’s true that things have changed.”

"..."

Rose's hand holding his arm gained strength. It didn't hurt, but he could feel the will. The will to never miss it again.

Belial could not say anything. So he slightly bent his upper body and looked into Rose's eyes.

As expected, he could feel the vitality in the eyes.

It was a moment when Belial once again realized how great Edgar was.

Rose suddenly opened her mouth.

“I feel bad.”

“...It can’t be. Why do you feel bad? This is how you changed.”

Belial tried to step back but couldn't. This was because Rose was still holding his arm.

“Belial.”

Rose called his name often today. It was a pleasure to have those petal-like lips call his name, but today he couldn't be purely happy.

She must have called Edgar’s name with those lips too. Belial is jealous.

“You said you knew a lot about me.”

“...Yes, I did.”

“Because you watched me from the closest place.”

Rose took a step closer to him.

“What on earth do you want to say, Rose?"

“But there is at least one thing that no one in the world can notice.”

And took one step closer. Rose had been sitting motionless in one place, was approaching Belial of her own will.

Rose said, holding close to him so that they could feel each other's breath.

“Now I’m going to tell you why I couldn’t tell you, but I could tell that person.”

With just those words, the disgusting feeling subsided in an instant. Belial could only nod his head like a meek sheep.

Rose opened the door to Belial's dressing room.

She's sure Belial brought out the veil here at that time.

Rose went into the dressing room. She saw a box of veils placed on a shelf. Rose reached for the shelf.

Before she could even turn on her heel, Rose's vision rose. Belial grabbed Rose by the waist and lifted her up.

“Hurry and take it out.”

“Thank you, Belial.”

Thanks to this, Rose was able to take out the box very easily. Belial and Rose came out of the dressing room holding the veil.

“But why do you really need that?”

Instead of answering, Rose tapped Belial's arm a couple of times. It meant to ask him to take it down. Belial put Rose down in front of the bed. Rose sat on the edge of the bed and placed the box on her lap.

That was the moment when Belial was about to sit down next to her. Rose gestured. It meant to get closer.

"... Rose?"

He thinks it's close enough.

Belial blushed but stayed close to Rose without a moment's notice.

But Rose wasn't satisfied there. With one hand, she leaned Belial's head against herself.

Belial was almost ecstatic at the smell of Rose's breath, but he struggled to control his mind.

Rose held the veil with both hands.

“Belial. Can you write this in front of me one more time?”

“It’s not difficult, but…”

Belial trailed off and paused. When he thinks of veils, there is only one thing that comes to mind.

Belial looked at Rose blankly.

“Rose, no way...”

“I understand it means acceptance.”

Rose personally veiled Belial. A thin veil was drawn in front of the face, but it was still clearly visible. Emerald eyes filled with determination.

Belial could not help but be enchanted by the two eyes that were more beautiful and sparkling than any other jewel.

“You did that back then.”

Rose threw aside her veil.

“Usually at weddings, people kiss after removing the veil.”

He changed, and she changed too. There is no reason to insist on the original anymore. Because they both got what they wanted.

Rose covered Belial's face with both hands.

“It might be too late to say this, but I’m going to do it anyway.”

Belial reveals his dark side. It was the first time he spoke out loud about why he didn't want to become a person.

He could tell without having to touch his chest. His heart, which once wanted to be so cool, was beating so hard as if it was laughing at his former self.

Has her heart ever beaten so passionately and intensely?

Belial's body leaned back.

Rose sat down on Belial and whispered.

“I love you. That’s why I couldn’t say it. I was so scared that I was going to fail.”

Belial's eyes grew as big as they could.

“I came at you for death, but not anymore.”

Belial had said this hundreds or even thousands of times, but she had only said it once today.

Rose continued.

“Like I said before, it may already be too late, but won’t you give me a chance?”

So that she can say that I love you exactly as much, no more, no less.

With those words, Rose looked at Belial's reaction. Belial's expression was as cold as any lakeside in winter.

“That’s impossible.”

Is it too late after all?

The moment Rose was about to give up, Belial spoke.

“You can never tell me you love me as much as I do.”

"Yes?"

“Every time you tell me you love me.”

Belial places his finger on Rose's head.

He handed over the knife.

“I’ll say it three times.”

At the same time, something fell on Belial's face. Belial smiled and looked up at Rose.

Tears were falling down Rose's cheeks. But they were not tears of sadness. They were tears of relief and joy.

“Rose, listen to me carefully.”

Belial lightly tugged on Rose's arm. Rose and Belial's bodies overlapped. Belial is on Rose's back.

“When it’s really late, you don’t even think it’s late.”

Rose buried her face in Belial's arms and just nodded.

“I feel so foolish and foolish for missing the opportunity, so I don’t even regret it.”

She doesn't even have the will to find another way.

Belial made eye contact with Rose.

“But now your eyes are full of regret and will.”

Belial wiped Rose's eyes with his fingers.

“I guess it’s not really too late.”

Belial's hand, which was embracing Rose, gradually gained strength.

"Rose. Thank you so much for saying that.”

Rose and Belial's faces slowly became closer. Belial said with satisfaction.

“It’s worth it for me to kill myself so desperately.”

Because he has her intact.

But Belial could not talk back.

It was because he felt something soft on his lips. The two swallowed, coveted, and savored each other's lips endlessly.

As if Ros wanted to make up for all the years she lived indifferently and coldly. The two monopolized each other like that for a long time.

Without even realizing that shackles were fastened to each other's ankles.

  1. Um... I've been having this suspicion since the beginning, but Belial probably experienced some sort of regression?
