SPMB - Chapter 144

 SPMB - Chapter 144

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

"Because I want to be forgiven even if it means doing this."

There was only clear sincerity in Kalen's eyes.

"Of course. I don't think that the mistakes of the past can be forgiven to this extent. I just hope that my sister's anger will go away, even if only a little."

"Fuck it."

Kanna put the box down on the table.

"Kalen, I have no intention of getting along with you. Don't force me to forgive you."

"But we will have to continue living together."

Still, living together? That sounds funny.

'I won't be here even after a month.'

It was funny that he made such an affirmation without even knowing that.

"I wouldn't dare ask for forgiveness with just words. I want to pay for my sins."

"That's amazing. Even the sky will be impressed."

Kanna muttered sarcastically.

Doesn't this make she feel like a bitch for not forgiving?

"You said you wanted to pay for your sins, right? I think that was my punishment for being deceived and taken advantage of by me not long ago."

"But even then, you couldn't forgive me. The punishment for the crime was not enough. So please punish me until you're satisfied."

"I don't want to do that."

"Sister, please."

For a moment. Kanna felt very annoyed. Does that kid not understand what to say?

She said she didn't like it, but she clearly said she didn't like it!

'Don't my words sound like words?'

Damn forgiveness, damn punishment.

She her self don't have the slightest interest in such things, but Kalen craves it again and again.

Kanna's feelings and will are not even taken into consideration.

What was important was always Kalen's will.

When he hates her, she suffer, and when he wants reconciliation, she have to try to forgive him.

Kalen Addis hasn't changed one bit from before, even a little.

Kanna silently stared at the face of a man who had lived selfishly his whole life. Then she suddenly had these thoughts.

She hate hum so much that she want to kill him, but what's wrong with hitting him?

They're going to break up forever soon anyway, so it's okay to vent her anger like this, right?

"Good. If it's your wish. I will grant it."

But this is not a punishment or anything like that. It was just an expression of pure anger.

"Take off your shirt."

Still. Kanna felt like she couldn't do it in her right mind, so she poured herself a glass of whiskey and drank it in one go.

Meanwhile, Kalen had taken off his shirt and stood up.

"Stand facing the wall."

Kalen leaned against the wall with his hands on it.

Kanna glared at his wide-spread shoulders and tightly muscled back as if she were about to tear them apart.

'Damn.'

Kanna chewed her lips while holding the whip. When she actually wanted to do it, she hesitated.

It wasn't easy to damage someone's body with her own hands.

If she hit him, Kalen will be satisfied. With each stroke, his guilt will decrease.

And one day, he thought, she did this to him, but why don't she forgive him?

It was clear what he was going to say. Just like he did in the basement lab not long ago.

Thinking like that, her situation was infinitely miserable.

If ahe continue to stay in this house...

It's okay. She'll be leaving here soon.

Even my right not to forgive will be taken away. So he will never be forgiven.

This is not a punishment either. Kalen is not paying for his sins. It's just a moment of anger and anger.

Slap!

The whip passed over his back. Then a red mark appeared on his skin.

Pop, pop, pop!

She hit him with all her might, one after another, but Kalen's shoulders didn't even shake.

Kanna frowned. She thought beating up Kallen would make her feel better, but it ended up making her feel bad.

"It's okay? Do you think you've paid for your sins now?"

“Nо.”

"What?"

"Can I be honest with you?"

On the other hand, Kalen's voice was very relaxed.

"The whip I gave you is for killing. It's a weapon that tears skin an dbreaks bones."

A lethal weapon? This?

"But seeing as the pain is minimal, it seems like all I have is a scratch."

"..."

"Honestly, it doesn't hurt that much. Be stronger."

But Kanna completely lost motivation.

What if Kalen's body suffers fatal wounds?

If she accidentally injure hia spine, he may become paralyzed. What if that makes her feel guilty?

That's probably what Kalen wants.

'I don't him want to die.'

Kanna threw the whip into the fireplace.

"Sister, why are you stopping?"

"It's boring. I just feel dirty."

Kanna picked up his clothes spread out on the sofa and threw them away.

"Go away."

"Sister."

"Aren't you going out? "Then shall I go out?"

"..."

Kalen couldn't push it any further and quietly left the room.

Is it because she had a really crappy experience?

Kanna, feeling very displeased, poured herself another glass of whiskey and drank it.

'Let's hold on just a little longer. Then it's over.'

Sooner or later everything comes to an end. Soon she will say goodbye to this damn Addis forever.

***

The next day, the alchemy lab construction was finally completed. Kanna immediately began experimenting.

"Is this really going to happen..?"

Kanna was drawing a complex pattern on a palm-sized piece of paper.

She drew a hexagonal star inside a circle and filled it with strange characters that he did not even know. The ink used was also not ordinary ink. It was made by melting a magic stone and mixing it with a few drops of one's own blood.

'I don't think it will work.'

According to the book, alchemy is not a power of this world. In other words, it is knowledge from another world.

And this pattern is said to be a passage that brings the power of the other world.

'Is it like a magic circle that summons power? Is it okay to roughly think of it like that?'

It seemed to be of no use to ordinary people 'here' and could only be used by special cases, i.e. 'foreign substances', like Kanna and Seon-hee.

So this ancient alchemy book was hanging out like a folding screen while in the main temple, and is only being used properly once it is in my hands.

There was also a brief note written by Seon-hee like this.

"Is this really happening?"

After finishing drawing the pattern, Kanna glared at the paper with distrustful eyes.

It was said that if she rub her blood on this pattern, she can turn anything into gold.

'Is that possible?'

Kana feel like she's being scammed somehow. Still, with the intention of giving it a try.

She placed the fountain pen on the paper. Then, she pricked the tip of her finger with a needle, drew blood, and carefully rubbed it over the pattern.

“Ah!”

The next moment, Kanna couldn't believe her eyes. Black smoke began to rise from the pattern!

But it was like...

'It's like black fog, isn't it?"

After a while, when the black smoke disappeared, the fountain pen was flashing gold.

It's not just golden.

It's golden. Real gold.

"It really turned into gold."

The moment she realized this, the first thing that struck her was a strangely realistic feeling of relief.

This is it.

She can live her whole life with out worrying about money!

Kanna was so excited that she turned the pages of the book.

'But this is the most basic skill.'

Making gold was the most basic, and even more amazing and shocking knowledge was contained in this book.

There were also patterns that not only transformed materials into different properties, but also created elements such as fire and water. There was even a technique to create something like a living doll that was no different from a person.

A shiver ran down Kanna's spine as she read that part.

Convert matter, create, and create something similar to a human being.

In Kanna's view, ancient alchemy was no different from the realm of Gods.

'My blood, I should cherish it. I can't even spill it carelessly.'

The moment she thought that, a memory flashed through her mind.

Marriage annulment ceremony.

She remember the moment when blood had to be sacrificed to enter the temple.

'Such things should not happen in the future.'

Don't they know?

Some crazy psycho with a passion for alchemy might steal her blood and commit evil deeds.

Kanna firmly decided that from now on. she would never, ever allow blood to be spilled like that.

'But there are torn parts throughout the book.'

Where did the torn part go?

Kanna prayed earnestly that she would not fall into the hands of a psychopath.

It was then.

"Lady, His Royal Highness Prince Argon has come to visit."

Argon?

Kanna immediately closed the book. She placed the paper with the pattern inside the book and answered.

"Take him to the parlor. I'll go soon."

***

"I'm sorry. Your Excellency."

Duke Sylvien stared quietly at the butler. The butler's face was pale when he looked at him.

"Sorry? I seem to be hearing that word a lot lately."

"There is no shame."

"You will have to. You're making such a basic mistake."

Sylvien couldn't laugh. The butler made a mistake that could not be laughed at all.

"You left out documents needed for divorce?"

He burst out laughing.

"Did Valentino and Addis' divorce seem so light?"

"It's not that..."

The butler was about to make an excuse but then closed his mouth. Why did he make that mistake?

One of the documents required for divorce was omitted and delivered!

As the head of a great noble family, Sylvien had his employees do the chores. For example, miscellaneous tasks such as visiting the administrative office and receiving the documents necessary for divorce.

The butler distributed the documents received from the administrative office to Sylvien, and Sylvien distributed them to Kanna.

So, from Kanna's perspective, it was as if Sylvien had handled it incorrectly.

Sylvien was embarrassed by this situation. A lot.

"Is this the way the Lady of the Duke of Addis will not be mistaken? She might think I'm resorting to foolish measures because I don't want to get divorced."

"Since the documents were omitted by the administrative office in the first place, they said that it would never be an issue in your divorce."

"Of course it should."

The butler breathed a sigh of relief.

"Then I will go to Addis Mansion right away. Receiving a signature from the Duke's daughter...That's it."

Sylvien stood up. He said as he put on the robe he had draped over the chair.

"I can no longer leave work to the butler. I do this myself."

"Yes?"

"It means dismissal."

Sylvien said, putting on a gentleman's hat.

Because the tone was so soft, the butler did not understand it right away. But soon he sighed and lowered his head. Anyone can see that this was a feeling of dismissal.

"It was an honor to serve you all this time, Your Excellency the Duke."

After a while, Sylvien put the documents in his arms and got into the carriage. And he ordered the coachman.

"To Addis Mansion."
