SPMB - Chapter 136

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

The memory she got back is hazy.

As soon as Kanna arrived at the mansion, she went down to the underground laboratory. Then she stopped.

"..."

In front of the lab door, a huge shadow was leaning diagonally.

“Kalen?”

Kanna stared at him in surprise. The man in the dark was Kalen. He was still wearing his party clothes and was standing there with a very disapproving expression. Since when has he been here?

"Where have you been?"

Kanna looked up at him and sighed.

Tired.

It's tough.

She didn't want to talk to anyone right now.

"Later."

"..."

"We'll talk later, Kalen."

Kanna passed him and opened the lab door. But the next moment, a long arm stretched out from behind. He lightly brushed her cheek and pushed the door open.

Snap, close.

"Later?"

Kalen muttered in a low voice.

"When on earth does that later come?"

"..."

"You've been avoiding conversations with me like that lately."

His voice floated through his hair. Kanna stared helplessly at the door and slowly turned around. She then pushed Kalen's chest, which was visible right in front of her.

"Go back, Kalen."

One step, he is pushed away. But that was it.

"No, sister. Not today."

He grabbed Kanna's hand that was pushing him away and gently lowered it.

"You disappeared in the middle of the party. Where have you been?

"..."

"There is a story going around that you had a secret meeting with Prince Argon. Is this true?"

Kanna doesn't know what to answer.

No words were ready in her mouth. Her head also felt empty.

A man and a woman meet at a party and then secretly disappear. Such things were not uncommon.

Most of them disappeared into quiet places in the garden, empty rooms, or dark hallways. It was obvious what men and women were doing in a place with few people.

"Yes, it's true."

Kanna didn't feel like making up lies, so she just answered like that.

She's sure Kalen will misunderstand. Does not matter. Either way.

"It's true, Kalen. I had some alone time with His Highness Prince Argon."

Kanna answered while staring at his shoulder. Nevertheless, she felt that his eyes were very fierce.

There was a short silence.

"I beg your pardon?"

The surrounding temperature plummeted.

"What did you say?"

"I secretly met with His Highness Prince Argon and escaped. And on the way I was caught by my father and brought in."

"Why on earth are you dealing with such a person?"

Surprisingly, his voice was calm. He was so calm that it was almost ominous.

"Prince Argon is a man who is not on your level."

"..."

"Are you very heartbroken over the divorce? Or were you even lonely?"

Kanna answered with a sigh.

"Okay."

"..."

"I was heartbroken and lonely. And I don't feel very good about having my time interrupted by my father. So, I want to be alone."

While she was muttering that answer, Kanna realized something.

It won't work either.

She can't live. She has to leave even if it means running away. This place. Addis.

She will never be happy as long as she is chained to this place that is marred by evil beyond her imagination.

'The method of creating hell is simple. You just have to hate the people close to you.'

A phrase she heard somewhere suddenly came to mind.

An empty smile appeared.

That was right.

Her world was hell. She didn't trust anyone around her and she didn't love anyone.

It's all just hate, hate, and hate.

She's tired of this too now. She doesn't want to live like this anymore.

'Let's run away.'

She will leave this place. And she will never see Addis again for the rest of her life.

"Sister, please raise your head. Look me in the eyes and talk to me."

The moment Kanna made her decision, all the knots came undone. One by one, the ropes that held them together disappeared.

There is no need for Kalen Addis anymore.

She's done imitating a good older sister.

"I'm bothered."

The laughter flows out thickly. Kanna lifted her head as he wanted. And she showed him.

Her face, and her sincerity.

"Don't bother me and get out of there, Kalen Addis."

Kalen clearly witnessed that moment.

Cracks appear on Kanna's beautiful face and picturesque mask. Rainwater is scattered. Beneath the ash-crumbling shell, old contempt shines grey.

Kalen endured that moment with an expressionless face.

It hurt.

But it wasn't surprising.

Looking at her like that, he realized that he had realized her sincerity right away. So he just asked calmly.

"Now that you've come?"

Kanna stared at him.

She thought it would definitely surprise him, but it didn't. As if he had already guessed her disgust.

"Huh."

"Have I become useless?"

"Huh."

"Why?"

"There is Prince Argon. I don't need you anymore."

"No, that's not true."

Kalen sharply denied her words.

"Prince Argon's status is just a facade. Rather than building up his own power, he is a person who deliberately destroys it. Not only is Prince Argon not interested in the throne, but I can bet everything that he will one day leave the imperial family."

"Okay?"

"Yes. This is a rope that will disappear in the future. It's like a rotten rope. I am disappointed in your discernment for choosing something like that."

"..."

"Catch me. I am more useful than Prince Argon."

He presented his value like a merchant selling goods.

"I will become the head of the family of Addis."

"..."

"If you want power, I will give it to you, and if you want wealth, I will put it under your feet."

Then he whispers as if to comfort her. It was a very seductive voice.

"I can make anything you want into reality."

"Everything?"

"Yes. Whatever it is."

Kanna looked up at him with unfazed eyes.

Kalen's face was confident. He had no doubt that Kanna would choose him in the end.

It was worth it. What can he not have?

Kalen Addis. The man who will inherit Alessandro Addis' position.

No matter where she goes in this world, it would be difficult to find a horse as powerful as Kalen.

So she got it. She massaged it to her heart's content. But now it is no longer needed.

It won't even be recycled. Even at the top of the spire built with money, fame, and power, she will never be happy if she are with Addis.

"No."

Kalen's face blurred.

Kanna smiled. And she spoke her true feelings for the first time in a very long time.

"Kalen, I hate you. I can't possibly like you."

His mouth tightened as if he had been hit.

"No matter how many good things you give me, it's no use. I will never be happy if I'm with you."

After a long silence, Kalen opened his mouth.

"Is it because of something that happened when you were young?"

It was a voice that barely scratched the surface.

"Huh."

"Isn't that why I'm treating you so well now?"

Kalen seemed to be in pain.

"I asked for forgiveness many times. And I did whatever my sister told me to do. But is it still not enough?"

".."

"How long are you going to be obsessed with the past?"

Kanna couldn't answer. Because even she had doubts.

Why can't she act like the kind characters in fairy tales?

If she's someone who forgives everyone in the end no matter how much she hurt, it would have been easier if she had that type of personality.

Still, she just can't forget it.

Kalen locked her in this basement until she was close to starving to death. He poured apple juice on her face and told her to go away because it smelled like sewage. Dropping things out of the window and asking her to pick them up was repeated all day long, which eventually made her pass out from exhaustion.

He watched the scene where his mother grabbed her by the hair, dragged her, and locked her in a closet as if he were watching a pig being dragged to a slaughterhouse.

So many scorns, so many insults.

His eyes then, expression, voice.

She just can't forget it. It's not forgotten.

'So what?"

What can he do if she ends up like this? Kanna smiled crookedly.

"Maybe it's because I'm a bad bitch."

"..."

"You fell for the wrong bitch."

After saying that, Kanna turned around again. It was the end of the conversation.

Kanna opened the door and entered the lab. Fortunately, Kalen didn't catch her anymore.

'It's dark.'

Because it was a basement, not even the faint moonlight penetrated. The moment she looked around to find a lantern.

Slam!

I heard the door closing.

At the same time, her vision became completely dark

"..."

Kanna turned her back in surprise.

When the door was closed, not a single speck of light entered the underground laboratory. Everything was pitch black.

And the voice that comes.

"You are truly self-indulgent."

Kalen's voice rang out in the black darkness.

"It's okay for you to use me. If you want, you can use me like a tool."

Kanna took a step back without realizing it and stopped when she hit the tabletop.

"But I am human."

She can't even hear the sound of footsteps. But his voice was getting closer, little by little.

"Did you feel like you could easily throw me away like a tool?"

For a moment, Kanna got goosebumps.

Has he already arrived?

In the darkness, a green light flashed from somewhere very close. Those ghostly fire-like eyes burned brightly.

"That won't work, sister."
