IELNDMH - Chapter 4 < I'm Divorcing You >
I Ended Up Living Up Next Door With My Ex-Husband
Episode 4. I'm divorcing you
That wasn't the only thing that was suspicious. That was just what the aide said this afternoon.
"Her Highness has appointed a maid to be her personal maid."
It is said that she stays in the same room the entire time and even chats affectionately. Cedric, who heard those words, let out a bitter sneer. Rebecca was terrified that there was a woman in the same mansion as Cedric. Not only the employees but even Cedric's younger sister, Bianca, was no exception.
That was why the child had been taken refuge alone in a townhouse in the capital. She couldn't possibly be like that...
However, the aide continued to deliver strange news.
"It's not just that. She held up her arm as one of the maids changed her dress. She was putting on her shoe, and the maid's hand brushed it, and there was no bruise."
Cedric and his aide looked at each other with disbelief for a moment.
"And above all..."
At that point, the aide hesitated for a moment. He looked like he found it hard to believe what he was about to say.
"The maids say she seemed in much better spirits than usual.''
'Do you feel good?'
It was right after the divorce story came out. As usual, wouldn't this have been the time when Rebecca's obsession with 'imprinting' would have reached its peak? But she says she feels good?
The more Rebecca behaved inappropriately, the more complicated Cedric's mind became.
'What on earth are they planning this time?'
Rebecca Twins. She was someone I couldn't let down my guard until the end. Cedric felt like the calm before the storm. No matter what she has in mind, they must divorce this time. Cedric's eyes became harsh as he brushed his wet hair.
He got up that way, quickly put on his robe, and went out the door. Whatever Rebecca's intentions were, I had to find out this time.

"Ho, by any chance you don't like the scent? Should I add another scent?"
Mina, who was unpacking the lavender-scented oil in her bathtub, stopped and asked. He seemed surprised when I sighed. There were still times when she caught my eye and made a creeping voice, but Mina's expression still seemed much more relaxed than before.
"No, it's okay."
"Aha, you like it... "
Mina awkwardly raised the corner of her mouth. It must be surprising that Rebecca, who was always complaining and being mean-spirited, would say 'good'. The horns that had sprouted on her head had already disappeared. According to Mina, young mixed-race demons often sprout horns when they get emotional or are scared.
I stared at Mina's still girlish face. Then, suddenly feeling anxious, I narrowed my eyes and asked.
"You didn't mix the perfume with poison, right?"
"Oh, no. But, Because you're still the Grand Duchess. It's not the right time, really."
"Yes, not yet."
Mina laughed bitterly...
That kid has a knack for telling scary stories. I sank deeper into the warm, fragrant bathtub.
'Whoa...'
The situation has become more complicated than I thought.
'How should I survive in the future?'
If I didn't want to incur any more resentment from Cedric, I had to divorce right away. However, if I divorced right now and left this castle, I would be as good as dead.
Time was needed to gain the favor of the mixed-race demons.
'Is there a way to divorce Cedric and win the favor of the mixed race demons...?'
It was then. Another maid came in and bowed her head politely.
"Your Highness, His Highness the Grand Duke has come to visit."
"Cedric?"
I blinked in surprise at the unexpected visitor.
'I just started taking a bath?'
Mina seemed more surprised than me by Cedric's appearance.
"Uh, what should I do, Your Highness? Should we prepare the dress right now? No, no! First, let's wipe off the moisture and put on makeup right away... !"
Mina began to fuss, wiping her wet hands on her apron.
"What are you talking about? I just started taking a bath, so I should at least do it roughly before heading out."
"Yes? But Your Highness... Are you sure you don't mind?"
Mina had an expression on her face that seemed strange to me when everything was so peaceful.
"When His Majesty the Grand Duke comes, you stop all your schedules and rush right away."
".... Did I?"
Mina nodded her head with a puzzled look on her face.
"Yes, so we always had to quickly prepare for Your Highness to welcome His Highness the Grand Duke at any time."
"Oh no, I said that..."
"Your Highness, were the rumors that you lost your memory true?"
Mina asked worriedly. But I only caressed my cheek. Because my face literally got hot.
Maybe it would have been the original Rebecca, but now that I think of it as my past, I'm going crazy with shame.
Ugh... Rebecca seemed to run out of socks whenever Cedric looked for her.
'Cedric is fatally cool, but still...'
What kind of 5-minute waiting group? I didn't want to do that. I didn't want to waste the luxurious scented oil bath that Mina worked so hard to prepare, and more than anything else, I was not the previous Rebecca who only passionately wanted Cedric's love.
'Okay, starting today, Cedric will leave the 5-minute standby group. I winked at Mina as she hung her arms wide in her bathtub.
"Continue. I'll leave when I'm done."
Then Mina hesitated, rolling her round eyes.
"But it will take some time. I'm sure His Highness the Grand Duke won't wait that long...."
"Who wants to come to me without telling me? Does he have anything to do with me this evening?"
"Well, His Highness is Your Highness's husband, and Your Highness's is His Highness's wife..."
Mina suddenly stopped speaking and looked caught up in her imagination for a moment. Immediately, her cheeks turned bright red, and she curled up her lips, biting them, and twisted her body with an embarrassed expression. I don't know, but it was clear that something big had happened in that little head.
'Mina, Please calm down! it's not that!'
Rebecca hit it off from her first night. From then on, she consistently asked Cedric for marital intimacy, but Cedric, tired of her obsession, only rejected Rebekah each time. There's no way Cedric would have come to me out of the blue asking me to spend the night with him.
'I wonder why you came.'
After thinking for a moment, I gestured towards the maid who had come to tell me about Cedric's visit.
***
"Your Highness, I'm sorry, but Her Highness has just started taking a bath..."
After that, it was usually a message asking him to wait a moment as he would be leaving soon. Then, just as she said, Rebecca appeared right away. The problem was that every time she showed up in lingerie, she tried to seduce him.
Therefore, as soon as Cedric heard the word 'bath', he planned to leave immediately. However, the maid's next words were enough to make him stop.
"They say they will try their best, but it will take quite some time. So, if it's not urgent, don't wait and go back..."
The embarrassingly unfamiliar scorpions continued.
"And she told me to make sure to tell Your Highness to refrain from visiting the Grand Duchess in the future without giving me a message in advance."
The maid kept tilting her head as she spoke. The words coming out of her own mouth seemed unfamiliar to him. He tried to pretend that nothing had happened in front of such a maid, but at that moment, Cedric was extremely confused.
Since the last conversation about divorce until now, Rebecca's behavior has been beyond all of Cedric's expectations. If the other person had been someone else, Cedric might have accepted the sudden change quickly. However, the opponent was Rebecca.
His breath caught in his throat as if he were suffocating just thinking about her.
Rebecca's obsession and possessiveness became more extreme day by day, and Cedric reached a point where he couldn't take it anymore. It was obvious that no matter what she did, she would try to own him.
Even if, like now, she's a thorough performer. She said,
"My wife should have told me directly. Tell her I will wait."
So, for the first time in his life, he decided to wait for Rebecca. Because he had to meet her and gauge her intentions for herself. Only then would he be able to prepare a suitable divorce plan.
Cedric was so desperate for a divorce from Rebecca...
How long did that strange wait last?
A light shadow was cast over the teacup on the table. Cedric inadvertently raised his gaze and made eve contact with Rebecca who was looking down at him with a smiling face.
"Cedric."
It was definitely Rebecca's voice. But it feels so soft and comfortable. Moreover, she didn't have a face with desperately made-up on, nor was she wearing lingerie. Rebecca was wearing a neat off-white silk gown, and her face was only a little flushed, perhaps because she had been in the bathtub for a long time. Beneath her roughly pulled-up red hair, the white nape of her neck was still wet. A natural blush on makeup-free cheeks. It was a refreshing look he had never seen before in five years of marriage.
Cedric turned his head slightly without realizing it.
"What are you here for?"
Rebecca sat down on the sofa across from him, and she soon had a warm cup of tea placed in front of her as well. Eventually, Rebecca took a sip of her tea and slowly opened her mouth.
"It's not that I don't like it, but I didn't think you would come to see me this night without any business. You didn't even know how to wait."
It was as if she was criticizing his own waiting. At that moment, Cedric recalled a story he had heard from his aide.
'Have people really changed?'
For a moment, he thought that too. However, the wall of distrust that had been built over the years was strong.
"They said you appointed a personal maid."
"Oh, is it Mina?"
"Mina?"
Cedric's arched eyebrows arched high.
"... What a surprise. Didn't you hate any woman inside the Twins Castle? As long as it's close to me, even if it's a man."
"I'm going to stop doing that now. Because it only makes me look funny."
Cedric couldn't believe his ears.
'What does that woman say now.'
For a moment, Cedric frowned at the unbelievable words.
'Ah, is this also part of the plan?'
The woman in front of him was Rebecca. Surprised by the successive changes in her appearance, he forgot about it for a moment.
"What a pity. It would have been better for me if my wife's enlightenment had come sooner."
"I know, right."
Rebecca nodded her head obediently.
'You don't know how to quit.'
Grinding his teeth, small muscles appeared on Cedric's chin.
"What I mean is, even if you change now, I have absolutely no intention of backing out of the divorce."
At this point, it was clear that he couldn't stand Rebecca any longer. Soon all kinds of vicious acts and bullying will begin and continue all night long. It was a time when just imagining it seemed to take his breath away.
"That goes for me too."
An overly calm and clear voice. That was clearly a completely different answer than he expected.
Rebecca spoke once again with force as if she was mocking Cedric for doubting his own ears.
"I'm definitely going to divorce you."
