IDMH - Chapter 36
I Decided My Husband
The drawer contained various accessories, including hairpins and brooches.
I picked up a large brooch and returned to bed.
Perdes, who still couldn't get used to wearing a slip, glanced at me from the corner of his eye and asked.
"Why did you bring that?"
"I brought it because I had a place to use it."
"What are you going to use it for?"
Instead of answering, I stabbed my fingertips with the sharp pin of the brooch.
"What are you doing now!"
Perdes, who saw that, screamed and grabbed both of my hands tightly. The brooch he was holding flew away due to his somewhat ferocious actions.
At the same time, the blood droplets at the end formed a parabola and fell onto the pure white blanket.
It wasn't intentional, but its appearance was similar to the 'thing' Chernosor was talking about.
If there was more blood here, it wouldn't look like 'that', so I curled my bleeding fingertips and squeezed them.
When I applied force, the injured area became sore. It also seemed like there was a little more bleeding.
"I need to stop the bleeding, so can you please let go of my hand?"
"Why did you stab yourself if you were going to stop the bleeding?"
"Because of this."
When I answered by pointing to the blood on the blanket with the tip of my chin, Perdes frowned. It seemed like he didn't understand what I was saying.
After all, he's young. I smiled slightly and explained in more detail.
"It is often said that after a chaste woman spends her first night, there is blood on the bed."
Perdes' eyes widened slightly as if he didn't know the story at all. Judging by the expression on his face, he seems to have understood everything.
"If you understand, can you please let go of my hand? I need to stop the bleeding."
Despite repeated requests, Perdes looked at my injured finger in silence. The blood that flowed from the fingertips pooled inside the palm and slowly flowed down.
It shouldn't fall on the blanket. I was about to curl my hand a little more, but Perdes stuck his thumb between the cracks of my curled hand.
"Your Highness?"
"I'll stop the bleeding."
"Yes?"
"If you wipe it with something like a tissue, it leaves a trace."
That's right. I was also wondering what to do with the blood-stained tissues.
"So, let me stop the bleeding."
"What and how...?'
After he finished speaking, he put his bleeding index finger into his mouth.
"Your Highness!"
I was startled and tried to pull my finger out, but I couldn't because Perdes was holding onto my finger so tightly.
"Please let go!"
I panicked and pushed him away with my free hand, but he remained steadfast.
Perdes licked and cleaned not only the wound but also the blood that had accumulated on the inside of my palm before it fell.
Even if it was really done to get rid of blood, without any dirty intentions, this was an action that went too far.
"Next time, don't do such useless things."
When I gave a stern warning, Perdes responded by licking the remaining blood from the tip of his lip with his tongue.
"If you promise not to do such useless things, My Lady, I promise to do the same."
"I didn't do anything useless. I did it because I needed it."
"Then stab my hand instead."
"How could I stab Your Highness's hand?"
"Then tell me to stab you."
"That's not what I meant."
"Then what does it mean?"
I felt like this strange conversation wouldn't end like this, so I took a deep sigh and spoke clearly.
"If you had seen blood, I would have felt guilty and worried about you."
I feel guilty that someone else got hurt because of me. Even if it was just a minor injury, I didn't want to see anyone get hurt because of me.
"So if it's necessary to get hurt, it's okay for me to get hurt."
"... Then what about the Young Lady?"
"Yes?"
"Don't you think I'm worried about you and feeling guilty?"
Wow, is that how the story goes?
It may seem a little strange, but if you think about it, it's true, so I couldn't refute it.
At that time, a knock was heard.
"Your Royal Highness, Lady. It's time to wake up."
It was Sophia. Instead of answering, I looked at Perdes.
Meanwhile, Perdes, wearing the mask of an idiot Prince, smiled innocently and crossed his arms around me. The mysteriously sparkling golden eyes were saying, 'Can we do it like this?'
Seeing his naturally virtuous expression and attitude made me laugh.
I completely forgot about the strange argument we had just a little while ago. When he's so good to me, I can't make a mistake.
I answered, slightly messing up my overly neat hair and the end of my slip, considering I had just woken up.
"Come in."
***
"Yeah, he definitely had a great first night."
A satisfied smile appeared on Daimon's lips after receiving the report. I was worried that Perdes, who was an idiot deep inside, would be able to play the role of a man properly, but it seemed my worries were for nothing.
Well, it didn't make sense for him to fail even though he had the Crown Prince give him medicine.
"It would be difficult to have a child just once, right?"
The chamberlain answered Daimon's question.
"It's hard to give an answer because having a child is something made in heaven, but I think it will definitely be difficult once you have it."
"Then we have to make it happen several times until it happens."
Daimon ordered the chamberlain to bring Perdes.
After a while, Perdes appeared hesitantly. Although his demeanor was neat, his expression was still stupid.
'That guy is my son.'
A sigh came out naturally. If Perdes didn't have golden eyes, there would never have been any recognition of him as a Prince. Because it was better not to have this kind of stain that brings shame to the imperial family.
So, after recognizing him as a Prince, Daimon thought about killing him, but he didn't want to get his hands dirty because he knew if he left him alone, he would die on his own, so Daimon left him alone.
But he's still alive?
It was truly a persistent vitality.
Daimon clicked his tongue on the inside but smiled kindly on the outside and praised Perdes.
"You did your job well. Good job."
Perdes blushed shyly and lowered his head as if he were happy about Daimon's praise.
"Okay, thank you."
"You can just nod your head as an answer."
Because Daimon didn't want to hear his stutter like an idiot.
By the same token, Daimon didn't want to look at his stupid face for too long, so he got straight to the point.
"You remember what I asked you before, right?"
"Yes yes!"
"I would have told you to just nod your head in response."
When Daimon pointed out with a frown, Perdes was startled and covered his mouth with both hands.
One of the things Daimon hated the most was not being able to understand what was being said at once, making him repeat the same words.
When someone did something like this, Daimon would get so angry that the other person would burst into tears.
However, he was only slightly annoyed by Perdes doing this, not angry. This is because Daimon did not expect him to understand what he said right away.
"I will ask again. You probably remember what I asked you before, right?"
Perdes nodded without speaking this time.
"What did I say?"
"..."
Even though Daimon deliberately set a trap, Perdes did not say anything.
Even though he stuttered, he learned how to say formal greetings properly. He wasn't as stupid as he was made out to be. He was intelligent enough to do what Daimon wanted.
Yes, all he needs is this level of intelligence.
Daimom is thinking about it now, but it would be better to leave this mission to Perdes rather than a half-assed and stupid guy like Chernosor.
Daimon smiled in satisfaction and took out a small bottle from the drawer. The bottle contained an unidentified red medicine.
Daimon said as he placed the vial down in front of Perdes.
"It is a medicine that makes it easier to have a baby. Take this medicine before you sleep with Lady Leopold."
***
Perdes showed me the unidentified medicine he had received from the Emperor and asked.
"He says it's a medicine that will help me have babies easily. Is it a weak medicine? Or the hallucinogenic drug I took before?"
"Well. It's my first time seeing this drug, so I'll look into it."
I asked Sir Aldor to secretly find out the identity of the medicine. After about half a day had passed, Sir Aldor returned and reported.
"It is said to have no narcotic or hallucinogenic properties and is simply a medicine that babies can tolerate."
"Don't women usually eat things like that?"
"They say there is a medicine that men can take."
I see It wasn't true the first time.
"Why on earth is the Emperor so obsessed with the child?"
Perdes crossed his arms and tilted his head.
"If the goal is simply to devour the Leopold family, wouldn't it be enough for one of the Princes to become a Duke?"
"Well. I'm really curious too."
If there was anything else he wanted other than Duke Leopold, he wanted to give it to him. I was curious about the Emperor's inner thoughts and tried to find out in each of my lives.
But each time it was in vain. All I found out was that the Emperor was persistently obsessed with Duke Leopold's position.
Considering that, it was clear that one of the things the Emperor wanted was the position of Duke Leopold.
'Do you by any chance want justification?'
Because then you can enter 'there'?
But even if you go there, there won't be anything special.
"..."
As I was thinking deeply, I suddenly felt eyes on me and turned my head. Perdes rested his chin and was looking at me intently.
"Why do you look at me like that?"
"I'm surprised that there are things the Young Lady doesn't know."
"Yes?"
"Until now, you've answered honestly when I ask questions, but this is the first time you've answered that you don't know."
Oh, was that so?
"I looked at it because it was fascinating. There are things that even you don't know."
"I'm also human, so it's natural that there are things I don't know."
"That's right, people."
Perdes muttered meaningfully but continued to look at me.
I felt burdened by those gazes and wanted to end this conversation, so I pushed the medicine bottle towards him.
"Take this medicine regularly as the Emperor orders."
"What?"
Perdes frowned.
"Are you serious?"
"Yes. I think it would be a good idea to take this type of medicine because, in addition to its abilities, it also has a tonic effect that strengthens your physical strength...Just take some medicine."
Ferdes grunted as if he didn't like my answer, but took the medicine.
