ICTV - Chapter 66
I changed The Villain
I looked around the room. It was a truly luxurious and comfortable room. I especially liked the softness of the bed.
As I looked around the room, I also found a small bell that could be used to call an employee. I thought about ringing the bell and calling the employee but shook my head.
I just want to be alone today.
The dress that Belial chose for today was one that I could take off by myself. I was glad.
I stood up, removing the pin that held my hair in place. I need to take a quick shower and go to sleep.
***
How long had I been asleep when I heard the sound of something piercing me? The sound was so clear and eerie that I couldn't help but have no choice but to open my eyes.
I lowered the blanket I was hovering over my head. A fishy smell was felt at the tip of my nose.
I lay down and just turned my head. The terrace door, which had obviously never been touched, was wide open, and the wind blowing through the crack made silver hair flutter like a painting.
“Rose, are you alive?”
I narrowed my eyes. Belial was standing in front of the bed. Belial asked in a dry tone, flipping his hair. I nodded.
“Yes, I'm alive. And just fine.”
Belial spoke while still holding his sword.
“You were so quiet that I thought you were already dead before I came.”
“Once I fall asleep, I sleep like I’m dead.”
I studied Belial's face. Drops of blood were splashing on his cheek.
"What happened?"
Belial was holding the card in his other hand. He dropped it. It was the card that was placed with the wine.
“The receptionist assigned me the wrong room. Why didn’t you say anything?”
“I thought it would be okay since it’s the next room anyway and security is sensitive here.”
“This is absolutely not okay. If only I had come over a little later.”
Belial's words were interrupted. I asked puzzledly.
"What's wrong?"
“Why don’t you at least pretend to wake up?"
"..."
I belatedly realized that I was still lying down. I just straightened my messy hair.
"Sorry. I was so comfortable lying down right now that I forgot I had to get up. I’ll wake up now.”
With those words, I raised my upper body with great difficulty, like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis.
I once again realized why I was born as a human and not an insect. It was the same. If I were an insect, I would have lived in a chrysalis for the rest of my life because I would have been too lazy to turn into a butterfly and fly.
Seeing me clearly showing that I really didn't want to get up, Belial had no choice but to say something.
“It’s done. Just lie down and talk.”
“It’s nice to hear that.”
I lay down again like a knife.
“I’m going to be scolded by my family and Mera. I thought it was okay because it was an academy."
“No matter how sensitive a place is, the enemy inside cannot notice it.”
I pointed at the assassin, who was lying dead on the carpet with only his arms out of the blanket.
“Did that assassin try to kill me because he mistook me for you?”
“Yes. I had no choice but to misunderstand. This is my room, and you had the blanket all over your head.”
“But shouldn’t a skilled assassin know right away?”
“Normally, I would have noticed just by hearing the sound of my breathing.”
Belial glanced sideways at the corpse.
“But that person was very nervous. Nervousness ruins everything, Rose."
“He’s an assassin good enough to hide in the academy, why is he nervous?”
“Because I am the one who has to be killed this time.”
Belial sat down on the edge of the bed.
Belial lightly touched my cheek with his finger, as if teasing me. With the same hands that just killed someone. But I didn't care about that.
“Why did that person receive the request? Because he thinks he can kill you?”
“Is there anyone in this world who would dare think like that? That person probably had no choice but to receive it. A weakness was discovered. A lot of money was needed. By the way, Rose.”
“Yes, Belial.”
“I arrived a little late. If I did, you would be dead. Aren’t you scared?”
“Not really.”
It's just a shame. I missed another opportunity to end my life comfortably and without pain.
I just pulled the blanket over myself.
“Thank you so much for catching the assassin. You too, go to sleep now.”
“Where?”
“In the next room.”
“So you’re saying you’re going to sleep in this room?”
“Then why not?”
In the room where the body still lay, Belial asked seriously.
“...Nothing can’t be done, but are you serious?”
"Oh right. There’s a body here.”
I rubbed my awkward forehead.
“That won’t work.”
“Yes, even if it’s you, of course that’s not possible.”
Anyway, I don't want to sleep in a room with a dead body. It's definitely a dream spot. Because it will come out.
“I guess I should go to the next room too.”
“Then you really have no choice but to get up now.”
"..."
Blanket, I’m sorry. He says we have to break up.
I touched the blanket affectionately and then got up. However, while wearing slippers, my foot got twisted and my body leaned forward. Belial immediately opened his arms.
“It wasn’t intentional.”
With my face buried in Belial's arms, I made an excuse. Belial nodded.
“I know. You are really as delicate as a flower.”
"..."
It cannot be refuted because it is true. Compared to Belial, I was really as weak as a flower. Is this a human arm or a rock?
I remembered Beryl, who had been begging me to exercise, so I changed the topic.
“Do you have the key to the next room?”
“Of course there is. The key from the receptionist. I brought the whole package.”
“How did you get it whole?”
I got away from Belial as I asked that question. No, I was about to fall. However, I was unable to do so because Belial was pressing my back.
“...I changed my mind. I think it would be best if I just picked you up and carried you.”
I couldn't help but be surprised by those words.
“Wow, really? Why all of a sudden? It was a hassle to walk, but it turned out okay. Could it be that you even read my mind?”
“Don’t you usually feel embarrassed or reject something like this? Oh, sorry. You were no ordinary person.”
Belial, who was answering himself, so easily picked me up. I automatically wrapped my arms around Belial's neck.
I seemed to understand why Belial had bothered to move me. Just seeing the assassin's body lying in the middle of the room was shocking, because there was also a man drenched in blood lying near the door. Not even dressed in hospital attire.
I looked at Belial, indicating that an explanation was needed.
“He was the one who told the assassin where the room was. But then he realized too late that he had been assigned the wrong room, so he rushed over and opened the door. So I dealt with this person as well.”
Belial dropped me off only after he had passed the corpse and left the room. I stared at my feet on the floor.
“Why is your face so sad? Did you feel so comfortable in my arms?”
“To be honest, yes.”
"Then...."
The moment Belial stretched out his arms again, I continued.
“More than anything, I still find it difficult to walk. If you move the bed to this place-"
“Walk directly.”
“As expected, I was shameless. Sorry."
Belial opened the door to the next room.
“Other rooms are used by other people.
Since we’re going to be sleeping, we have no choice but to share a room.”
“I know.”
I entered the room first. Instead of wine, there was a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates in this room. How can they prepare a gift considering the tastes of the person who will be using the room?
They're really attentive.
I admired the academy's attention to detail while holding a box of chocolates. I can eat this when I return tomorrow.
While I was looking at the box of chocolates with happy eyes, Belial took off his coat and asked mischievously.
“What should I do when my lover is in the same room?”
“I need to sleep well for tomorrow.”
“...You are so pure. So it's fun."
Belial pointed to the bed.
“I’ll sleep on the sofa, so you can sleep on the bed.”
"Why?"
Belial's steps as he entered the bathroom stopped. I said as he looked like he didn't know where to start explaining..l
“You worked harder than me. I’ll sleep on the sofa.”
“That’s what you meant. It's okay. That is your standard.”
Belial gathered his hair into one piece and held it lightly. The smooth neckline was clearly exposed.
“By my standards, this isn’t even a hardship.”
"..."
“Then I’ll take a shower."
The bathroom door was closed. I lay down on the bed. But I couldn't sleep.
By that time, I had suddenly lost sleep.
O tossed and turned. I counted the sheep one by one, but my mind became clearer as time went on. This is a really big deal.
My face became serious. In the original world, if you couldn't sleep at night, you could just use the computer or smartphone, but not here.
“I’m starting to get bored already.”
There is nothing to do here at night. I need to somehow fall asleep before I get more bored.
Just as I was about to count sheep, the bathroom door opened.
“What are you doing now? It’s clear you weren’t waiting for me."
Belial appeared, thoroughly washed and even changed his clothes. I opened my mouth.
“I couldn’t sleep so I was counting on you.”
"Yes?"
I immediately started counting Belial as if I were counting sheep.
“One Belial, two Belials, three Belials.”
“If possible, would you please number one person, two people, three people?”
The moist and wet Belial was so beautiful that I couldn't say anything, but Belial, who had become accustomed to my antics, passed it over without any hesitation.
Belial dried his hair with a towel. I, who was still struggling with boredom, suddenly asked.
“Would you like me to dry your hair?”
"Yes?"
I stood up.
“I’m bored.”
“You’re probably the only person who dries someone else’s hair just because you're bored.”
“What’s wrong with that?”
“Have you tried other people’s hair like this before?”
"No."
“...Then that’s it. Come here.”
I stood behind the sofa and dried Belial's hair. His already dazzling silver hair became even more shiny now that it was still wet.
“It’s really pretty.”
“I think your hair is prettier.”
"No. Your hair is much prettier.”
I gathered his hair into one piece and lifted it lightly.
“Look, it shines even brighter when I put it all together...”
My words trailed off. This is because Belial's neckline was completely exposed as I lifted his hair.
