EIITAB - Chapter 58 < Brawl >
Even if it is Trampled and Broken
Of course, those words were not directed at Hestia.
"Hey, maid."
Aslan reluctantly called Angela.
"... Yes?"
"You too. Don't come out."
"Yes? Ah, yes, yes...!"
Despite her frightened state, Angela nodded her head quickly even in her panic.
"It'll be over soon, so there's nothing to worry about."
Meanwhile, Hestia realized it easily. The words Aslan put into his mouth just now were directed at her. A small smile appeared on her lips for a moment. After Aslan heard Angela's loud answer, he gave her a small nod.
He quickly turned around. He applied so much force to his hand that the entire carriage vibrated as soon as the door slammed shut. Kalathi's carriage was made thick to block the wind. As a result, when the door was closed, most of the noise from outside could not be heard, as if it were sound insulating. There were sharp sounds at times, but even those sounds were muffled, so it was less scary.
However, the downside was that the inside of the carriage was so dark it was practically dark. Angela moved closer to Hestia, moving her body forward with her hips.
"Okay, Princess. Shall I turn on the light?"
The earnest voice was filled with fear.
"No. Let's not do that."
Although Hestia understood Angela's fears, she decided that it would not be a good idea to turn on the lights to appease her in this situation.
Hestia swallowed her dry saliva. The sound of knights cheering was heard from outside. Eventually, something came and hit her with a 'thud!'
The carriage shook slightly with a loud noise.
"Aaaah!"
Angela buried her head, clasping her hands on either side of her head. Hestia pulled her maid to her side, hugged her, and comforted her.
"It's okay."
Her voice was calmer and unwavering than she expected.
"It will be fine. Because he said it would be okay."
Her deep faith held Hestia's balance so that she would not waver.
'Please don't hurt him.'
Hestia held her breath, praying for luck, something Aslan wouldn't want.

Aslan's face hardened as soon as he closed the carriage door. As he let out a long sigh, his complicated thoughts cleared up like a lie. The important thing now is to protect the carriage Hestia is riding in from the monsters. It was nothing more and nothing less. Only then did the golden eyes look at the group of snarling demon beasts hidden in the darkness.
"A wolf-type demon beast."
His bow clenched his tongue. Aslan pulled out the sword from his waist. When a sword body as black as his hair appeared, the wolf demons simultaneously let out a low howl. With that low, fierce sound, the demonic beasts began to get excited. Aslan clicked his tongue and commanded his knights.
"I say it again. Make covering the carriage your top priority."
Aslan lightly turned his sword in his hand. The wolf-type beasts seemed to feel threatened by the movement, revealing their teeth even more.
"Krrrrr! Kung!"
The fierce barking made each knight more nervous. The wolf-type demon beast was an opponent that could not let down its guard. Their massive size and ferocious temper alone make them a threat, and they even move in an organized manner as they travel in groups. In short, they were brainy guys.
"It looks like you've been hungry for a long time."
The lack of food was the same for both people and demons. It seemed like these guys couldn't find food, so they came all the way down south.
"Seeing as he was avoiding Wharton's eyes, he clearly took a detour. The captain is quite a smart guy."
He quickly and sharply grasped the opponent's condition.
"These guys have tasted people, so they shouldn't be left alive."
All the knights' heads nodded simultaneously as if in agreement. Aslan adjusted his sword and held it. At that moment, the demonic beasts kicked off the frozen ground and rushed at once.
"Krrrrr!"
Saliva flowed from the maw of the attacking beast. The magical beast's saliva dissolved everything it touched like hydrochloric acid. The knights intuitively realized that close combat would not be easy.
"Shit! We should have opened the streets first!"
It would have been most efficient to shoot them one by one with Dean's great bow. However, it was not feasible as it was difficult to occupy high ground and the distance had already narrowed considerably.
“Kung! Kung! Krrrrr!"
The red-eyed demons continued to threaten and attack. Soon a fierce fight began. The horsemen attacked without mercy, and the knights, who had to protect themselves while guarding the carriage, could hardly find the time to attack.
"Just take cover! The attack will be done by me and Martin!"
The sword Aslan swung split the air. The heads of the two demonic beasts that jumped up from both sides were cut off at the same time and they fell around. Meanwhile, the leader of the wolf beasts, who was watching the situation from behind, soon figured out the knights' weaknesses.
They realized that people were protecting the middle carriage and were unable to attack them. Its red eyes narrowed for a moment and then it cried out loudly into the air.
"Kung!"
At the leader's signal, their teams merged into one. The demonic beasts rushed towards Aslan at the same time. He had walked quite a distance from the carriage.
"Protect Your Excellency!"
The knights, thinking that their target had changed to Aslan, shouted urgently. Even for Aslan, it was difficult to deal with nearly twenty demonic beasts at once, so cover was absolutely necessary.
As soon as the carriage's defenses became weak, the leader, without missing the opportunity, quickly started running down the hill. What he was aiming for was the carriage. And the first to notice the action was not Aslan, Dean, or Martin.
"Shit!"
It was Jerome, the youngest knight. The boy, who was running to build a shield for Aslan, gritted his teeth and turned. Jerome barely got there before the leader attacked the carriage. The boy shouted, aiming his sword at him.
"Get out now! You damn bastard! "
But he didn't become the leader of this group for nothing. Unlike Aslan, Jerome was an easy opponent for him. The guy suddenly bit the shoulder of the boy knight who was blocking his path.
"Aaaah!"
Jerome's scream tore through the night sky. Smoke rose from the young knight's shoulder along with a hissing sound. The foul smell of burning skin reached his nostrils. The force of the leader's maw was so strong that it lifted Jerome's body with its bite and threw it away.
Jerome flew through the air crashed into the wall of the carriage and fell onto the snow field. Aslan and his lieutenants, who belatedly realized the situation, cursed harshly.
Aslan's golden eyes shone coolly.
"Dean! Martin! To Jerome!"
Aslan's heart became anxious. The thought of quickly sorting out this situation and checking on Jerome's condition filled his mind. His black sword slaughtered the demonic beasts even more mercilessly.
In an instant, the animals' blood splattered and flesh fell onto the white snow field. Dean gritted his teeth and picked up the great bow that had been dropped nearby. The arrow left the bowstring and got stuck right in the leader's body, but he did not die.
"Kaaaaang!"
The demon beast's red eyes glowed and it attacked Dean, who attacked him, with the intention of biting him to death. Meanwhile, Aslan, who had killed all the nearby demon beasts, kicked off his ground and jumped up. With his back turned to the cold white full moon, he plunged his sword into the mouth of the thing that was gaping at Dean.
"Keeeeek!"
With a sigh, the leader's red eyes slowly closed. After losing their leader, the remaining demonic beasts instantly lost their will to fight. Aslan ordered with a stern expression.
"Dean, take care of it..."
"Don't worry!"
Dean turned his body while holding the great bow. Thanks to the demonic beasts running away, the distance had widened significantly. Dean lit the arrows and began shooting them one by one. As the situation was quickly resolved, other knights rushed to the boy who had collapsed near the carriage.
"Jerome!"
"Come to your senses, Jerome!"
An earnest call followed. After defeating his leader, Aslan took a deep breath. Meanwhile, his men were desperately raising their voices to wake up the youngest knight. Aslan closed his trembling eyelids. The face of the young knight who followed him well and always smiled cheerfully came to mind so clearly that he clenched his fists without realizing it.
".... Jerome, please be safe."
Aslan called that name with a sigh and took a heavy step forward. He joined there, albeit belatedly. Then Aslan's steps suddenly stopped, and he looked back again.

The carriage moved.
"Has it been hijacked?"
"No way. How can an animal drive a carriage?"
Hestia was unfazed and answered calmly. It seems that the position of the carriage had changed slightly after the battle. Hestia intuitively sensed that the commotion outside had ended.
'But why doesn't Aslan open the door?'
To reassure herself, he would have opened the door as soon as the situation was settled. But there is still no news.
"If...?'
Could there be some problem?
Then, she thought, she couldn't just sit here forever. Hestia gave a stiff order with a stern expression on her face.
