TAPGB - Chapter 33
The Abandoned Prince's Ghost Bride
After 10 seconds, the light slowly turned off. Only after the light completely disappeared did Caesar and Lucian blink their eyes.
"My eyes are sparkling..."
"Wow, my eyes still hurt."
They both rubbed their eyes, suffering from the aftereffects of the magic.
I was dazed, but unable to overcome my excitement, I rushed at Lucian.
[Good job, Lucian! It was the most perfect and gigantic magic light I've ever seen!]
"Really?"
[Okay! This is by no means the level of light that 2 Circle can produce! Ah! How is your mana circle now? Have you calmed down?]
In response to my question, Lucian stuttered and checked his mana circle. The two mana circles were spinning tightly. It didn't overload and was fairly stable.
"Yes, I'm really fine now..."
Lucian's eyes slowly closed as the tension went away. Before Lucian fell to the floor, Caesar supported him.
"Ha, you made a big deal out of this kid."
Even though he grumbled, the corners of Caesar's mouth went up.
[How is your condition?]
"I'm fine except for the fatigue. He suffered some internal injuries, but I treated it, so there won't be any problems."
[It's a shame that everything went well, but I was worried that there might be a mana runaway. So you should have put in the right amount of mana.]
"I put in less than I initially thought. What can I do to absorb everything this bastard puts in?"
[Huh? Really?]
"Okay. Usually, you can't absorb about 30% of other people's mana because of the repulsion. But if this guy was 100, he absorbed all 100."
Is that possible? It's not anyone else's mana, it's the dragon's mana?
"When I saw it... He has a natural talent. Otherwise, how would a kid who can barely sense the flow of mana be able to create not 1 but 2 circles on the first try?"
[But... I thought it was almost like gambling, too.]
"Furthermore, when I created the circle a little while ago, the mana channel grew drastically. At this level, he will be able to reach the 4th circle without difficulty later on. It must have hurt a lot..."
I opened my mouth when I saw that Lucian's eyes were kind.
[You said you were so cruel, but you're more worried about Lucian than me?]
"Who, who was worried! He's barely a human...!"
Caesar is excited! He got up and said he had done his job. But even after he went outside, he continued to hang around the door and spy on Lucian.
I thought it might be a matter of time before the two reconciled.
***
Lucian, who achieved the second circle in one go, suffered from a fever for two full days from that day. It is a type of growing pain that occurs in order to adapt to sudden changes in the body.
While Lucian remained motionless in bed, Caesar did not even touch his nose in front of him. Although he didn't show it, Lucian continued to look for Caesar by snooping around the door, and Caesar also continued to check Lucian's condition through the window, door, or eavesdropping.
They both want to get closer to each other, so when they come across a subject, they are both anxious to get close to, they are like enemies.
Even when Lucian recovered and started taking magic and swordsmanship classes again, there was no progress between the two.
I sat sullenly and watched the two.
Today's training is that Caesar will cast a spell and Lucian will defend it with a conflicting magic.
Caesar lit up fire in his left hand and threw it at Lucian. Lucian swallowed and cast his magic.
"... Aqua!"
"Slow down!"
Although he succeeded in creating Aqua, it was faster for Fire to reach Lucian.
"Wow, Caesar is too fast!"
"It's so fast! Was it at the level of slowness? If this were a real fight, you would just be dead! Even when you fight someone else later, you're going to say something nonsense about how they were too fast and didn't see them?!"
This situation has been repeated for a while.
If Lucian didn't do well, Caesar scolded and scolded him. If he thought he did a good job, he scolded him and asked him what he did well. If he did a good job, he nagged him to work harder.
There was absolutely no praise.
I know you don't want to do anything like the basement again, but isn't this too Spartan?
I, who couldn't see anything, came forward.
[Caesar, how can I use the magic I learned yesterday correctly? Besides, I'm not only doing that now, but I'm also doing swordsmanship as well.]
Okay, this wasn't just magic training.
When Caesar throws a stone, Lucian must hit it with his sword, and when he uses magic, he must use the opposite magic in an instantaneous reaction.
Lucian is only 8 years old, and it's been less than a week since he created the mana circle, so it makes no sense to do it right away.
"Then at what time will you learn everything? All you have to do is master magic, master swordsmanship, and achieve it, right? Like you said, if you know how to do the basics, both dogs and cows will already be strong! Go out into the human world with these skills! No matter what, you won't last long before you die!"
[No, what I'm saying is, let's take it easy.]
"Leah, you clearly said you would entrust me with his education. If you complain any longer, I won't do anything."
[Ah, really, that old bastard...]
Why are you so obsessed with the hatchling topic? Is it really that difficult to be more flexible?
"Leah, it's okay. I can do it."
[But Lucian...]
"Do you think I can't even do this? I'm going to make sure to press that nose, so watch Leah."
When he no longer called Caesar his brother, Caesar's eyebrows twitched. Even at the birthday party, they used to give each other compliments and laugh, but now they were staring at each other like they were going to eat each other.
"You're confident, right? You only succeeded 5 times out of 50."
"Now that I'm used to it, I can do it faster. Why? Do you think I can't even do that?"
"Oh, let's see how much confidence you have."
Caesar started the class by increasing his speed a little more. Lucian stuttered at first, but soon clenched his molars and showed great concentration.
[Oh oh?]
Lucian seemed to be getting the better of his teeth.
Caesar also raised an eyebrow as if he was inwardly surprised. And then he erased his smile and started to get serious.
"Now it's like a real game. I won't even tell you what I am going to send out, and I'll attack while moving. You, too, try to defend yourself in the most optimal way."
When Lucian nodded, Caesar, who had been standing still throughout training, finally moved. With his eyes full of spirit, Caesar grinned and started muttering something.
As I was watching the situation wondering what was going on, I felt the ground shaking slightly and lifted my head up.
[Lucian! It's land! There's something in the ground!]
Lucian walked away. Then a hole appeared where he was, and flames erupted.
[Hey! What if he gets hurt like this!]
When I screamed, Caesar clicked his tongue.
"I'm sure I said it would be like a real fight, right? I've never used magic longer than 1 circle. I just applied it."
[You, this is really...!]
"You mean I can apply it?"
Lucian, who was blankly looking at the hole that Caesar had dug, raised the corner of his mouth.
"Wind!"
Lucian used the hole dug by Caesar in reverse. Caesar calmly avoided the pit. But that wasn't Lucian's purpose.
The wind that passed through the hole raised dust, blocking the vie.
“Hoo?”
The idea is good. But when he does this, he obscures not only his own vision but also Lucian's. How can he fight back here?
Tadda-dak-
The dust began to gradually settle as people flew around.
Boom-
Faintly, I could see the dust disappearing faster along with the sound of the wind to the left.
Caesar, who was trying to move to avoid the attack, looked down when his feet didn't budge.
"Suddenly......."
The ground rose up, trapping the feet and slamming them with ice to solidify them once more.
I was distracted by the dust and Lucian's approach and made the rookie mistake of giving up my foot.
"Ha ha ha... It's fun...!"
Caesar smiled and his eyes sparkled. He then raised his left arm to block an attack coming from his left.
Lucian swung his sword and attacked Caesar, but Caesar blocked it with his arm.
The dust completely cleared, and Lucian and Caesar appeared, glaring at each other.
[Up there!]
At that sound, the two looked at me.
[Lucian won this time. Right? Caesar.]
"... Well, it was great to block my vision, divert my mind, and tie my feet."
Caesar glanced down at Lucian.
"Let's assume you win this time."
Lucian's face brightened.
"Leah! I won! I finally won!"
[Congratulations, Lucian. To think of tying up one's feet in such a short period of time. How did you come to think like that?]
"It would be difficult to compete head-on, and if it ran away here and there, it would be difficult for me to catch it, so I thought I should tie his feet first. Because a tunnel had been dug, the soft soil raised dust."
[The same method won't work next time. You can still do well then, right?]
"Of course! "Caesar is no match for me anymore?"
Oh. I was so proud.
Caesar, who clearly heard Lucian's words, trembled.
"What? Are you saying you can't compete with me? If you think about it, you didn't even win. If I even fired my breath at you, you would die on the spot! Instant death!"
"Heng, then Lia would have stopped him in the middle. And it seemed like it would be too late to counterattack with magic, so didn't you block her with your arm?"
"OK. Let's stick together again. I'll press you down so you can never be proud again!"
"Why me? I'm having a hard time now. I've used up almost all my mana, so I can't do it anymore."
As Lucian turned his head and showed off his courage, Caesar held his back and trembled as if he was going to fall backward. Caesar screeched!
He screamed and started shooting at Lucian, and Lucian fought back without losing.
"Coward!"
"You idiot can't even read runes!"
"You're such a fool for losing to such a fool!"
Yikes!
A childish argument occurred between the two, appropriate to their mental ages. When the superiority and inferiority of the fight could not be determined, the two looked back at me with wide eyes.
"Leah! In Leah's opinion, who is better? Of course, I'm the best at it, right? I told you I was a genius who created 2 circles at once!"
"You're not going to raise your hand right now, are you? You know it well! I wonder what he would have been like if I hadn't looked after him!"
"Leah!"
"Leah!"
[Ugh! Shut up! Both are the same, so be quiet!]
When I screamed, both Lucian and Caesar stopped.
[Are they both the same? Caesar you! A child could say something like that because he or she is proud, but you are refuting it like an adult!]
"No, I thought he was saying nonsense..."
[And you too, Lucian! Even though Caesar teaches radically, it is an education that you can never learn anywhere else. I should thank Caesar, but what if he keeps teasing me!]
"I just teased Caesar first..."
[How long are you going to keep acting so awkward! These guys got along well as older and younger brothers!]
Both of them giggled and curled their tails at Lia's anger. But he also heard a grunt for a moment. They feel unfair.
"What did I do wrong?"
[What is it?]
"Oh, that's right! I didn't do anything wrong!"
They both pouted and said that they had done nothing wrong. Magma boiled inside.
I grabbed the backs of Caesar and Lucian's necks.
"W-what! Let go of this!"
"Leah?"
[Aren't you both quiet? You could starve!]
I took them to a small room in the mansion. Then I pushed the two inside and locked the door.
"Aren't you going to open this?"
"Please open, Leah!"
[No. Because I have no intention of opening the door until you guys reconcile. Whether you fight or makeup, it's up to you.]
"Hey! Where can I find something like this?"
Bang-!
Caesar huffed and kicked the door. I peered through the door, my face visible. Caesar and Lucian, startled, took a step back.
[I know you can never come out until you two reconcile.]
With those words, I pulled my face away from the door and cast a barrier spell on the room.
Caesar screamed, asking how something like this could be done, but once the barrier was completed, it immediately became quiet.
[Hmph, try it on the 100th day. Can you break the barrier?]
Since there was even a Caesar, they weaved and weaved advanced techniques. Wouldn't it be better to reconcile with Lucian before breaking the barrier?
[Ugh, what about Caesar? He still has the same mental age as Lucian.]
I thought Lucian was just like an adult, but when I scratched his insides, he showed a childlike side.
It's good for a child to be a child but having two children instead of one seems like a broken bone.
[I guess I can come back later in the evening.]
I stretched and left the front of the room with a light heart. Whether the two reconcile or fight is none of my business anymore.
