 SPMB - Chapter 85

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

"Uh."

On the way to Sylvien's room, Kanna encountered a man wearing black priestly clothing.

"Raphael."

"..."

Raphael had just left Sylvien's room and was closing the door. He spotted Kanna and stopped in his tracks. It was almost like a knee-jerk reaction.

"Good morning."

Kanna slowly approached with her hands stretched out on purpose. This was to show that she had no intention of harassing.

"Did you get in well then?"

At that time, when the trial was over he appeared with the carriage.

He left after dropping off Kanna in front of the house, but he was so distracted that he completely forgot about it.

'I only asked Count Debord to say thank you, but I didn't say thank you to Raphael.'

In any case, Raphael carried out the Count's orders.

"Thank you. I should have offered you a cup of tea, but I was in no mood at the time."

"No."

Of course, even if such an offer had been made, Raphael would have flatly rejected it.

Raphael gets nervous when she's with him. He was like a man faced with a rabid dog who never knew when or where it would attack.

"Don't do that, but give me a chance to treat you properly later. Just like at the pharmacy before, I feel like I only get help every time."

"You don't have to do that."

"It's because I want to do that."

Kanna's eyes sparkled.

'Because Raphael seems to be quite close to Count Debord.'

So, he must have personally driven the carriage and done Count Debord's favor.

'Perhaps we can connect with Count Debord without Sylvienne in the middle?'

In the end, she was thinking about money. Kanna had quite a bit of information that she could sell to Count Debord. When it comes to information on plants and medicinal herbs from the Eastern Continent, there is no authority like him, at least in this world.

The same thing happened yesterday. That plant toxicity and antidote formulation are not known, right? Count Debord, who deals with medical herbs from the Eastern Continent, would be very interested.

However, there is no way to reach him except through Sylvien. But if she becomes friendly with Raphael, maybe she will have a chance.

'Besides, there are many things I'm really thankful for.'

How great is it to get a chance and express her gratitude? When Kanna got reasonably close to him, she stopped in her tracks. And she made the most gregarious laugh she could muster.

Ask the other person, 'Do you have a crush on me?'

It was a smile that created an illusion.

"Even later is fine, so give me some time. Okay?"

When she looked closer, Kanna noticed that the back of his neck was stiff. How much had Joo-hwa tormented him so far to be so nervous?

If that was going to happen, she should have taken appropriate measures to prevent Joo-hwa from doing bad things

'Because I just suffer in silence like a fool'

So the Joo-hwa was more excited and ran wild. Kanna smiled brighter than ever.

"I'll be waiting, Raphael."

'Going, going. I'll go, so just stay still.'

Kanna passed him by. It was only a few steps to Sylvien's room.

***

Sylvien was standing at the window and looking out.

"How are you feeling?"

He answered without even looking at Kanna.

"It's okay."

"I'll take a look."

Kanna approached and held out her hand.

Sylvien put down the newspaper he was holding in one hand on the windowsill and held out his arm.

"..."

The pure white shirt that wraps around the long sleeves is neatly toned down to the cuffs.

'Do you want me to walk?'

Kanna looked up at Sylvien with bewildered eyes. But Silvienne faced her with his carefree ease. The eyes, which were as calm as a clear lake, seemed not to know what was the problem. Or he's pretending not to know.

Either way, it was a natural and deserved right that Duke Valentino could take as if he were breathing. Kanna was appalled by his inherent arrogance.

'It's okay, I don't even want to protest.'

She's going to get divorced soon anyway.

Kanna took off the cufflinks on his sleeves and rolled them up rather roughly. Then the veiny forearm was revealed. It was an arm that Joo-hwa had admired for a long time.

The arms, whose firm texture can be felt just by looking at them, are so elegant and masculine that Joo-hwa dreamed of one day being able to sleep with her head resting on those arms.

'I've never touched it except when I was forced to hang on to it.'

She felt strange thinking that this was the arm that Joo-hwa wanted to touch so much.

"Let me check your pulse."

Kanna gently placed her finger on his wrist.

Her heart is pounding. Her heart is pounding. A pulse pulsed beneath her fingers. It's still normal.

'What on earth did you grow up eating that doesn't work for you?'

After checking, she immediately removed her hand, but he did not lower his arm.

"If you've rolled up other's clothes, isn't it polite to put them down again?"

It was an unexpected criticism. Kanna let out a laugh.

"Duke, aren't you a noble gentleman who knows the etiquette of raising and lowering your sleeves yourself?"

Then he responded harshly.

"Then I guess I don't know manners."

Then he added with a grin.

"Or, contrary to what Miss Kanna thinks, I'm a ruthless person."

There was a strange sadism in that tone. It was impossible to not know, and it was an intention that was not even hidden in the first place.

'What? What did I do wrong?"

She didn't do anything annoying, so why is he being sarcastic like that?

Despite his outrageous behavior, his blue eyes were calm as always.

'How can I know what's inside that guy? 'I don't even want to know.'

Sylvien will soon take the lead in the divorce. In this situation, it would not be good if there was a falling out between the two.

"Is that so? But what?"

But for some reason, something different from what she had planned came out. Kanna stared at him belligerently and laughed.

"Because I'm also a very rude woman."

She knows it in her head. She knew that it was beneficial to obey Sylvien's wishes, but she still didn't want to give in.

"It will be difficult to show the courtesy the Duke expects from me."

Then, Kanna placed her fingers firmly on the hem of his rolled-up shirt and pulled it off.

"It would be better to have a servant or a polite lover to take down your shirt later. Or do the opposite."

Oh, she shouldn't have added the last word. It wasn't until Kanna lost her temper and started being sarcastic that she realized she had gone a little too far. Kanna quickly changed her tune.

"Anyway."

Hmm. She made my voice business-like.

"Now let me take your temperature. You had a mild fever yesterday, but I need to see if it goes away.

"Go ahead."

"..."

"..."

Although he said so, Sylvien did not show any kindness by bowing or lowering his head. Maybe it was natural. Just now, Kanna blatantly mocked his lover and blah blah blah.

"They said they started the fight first."

Why on earth did you start a fight? I didn't do anything wrong.

'Are you in a bad mood today? Did I get it wrong out of luck?'

She doesn't know. Kanna eventually gave up everything. She didn't even want to ask him to bow down.

So, she came close to Sylvien's chest.

Kanna was so close that if she leaned just a little, her face would touch his collarbone, which made her very uncomfortable, but she didn't want to show that discomfort.

She deliberately stretched out her arms, looking more carefree than ever, and a little bored. Since he had been rude to her first, she thought she would respond in kind.

So Kanna put her hand on his forehead in an unfriendly and somewhat aggressive gesture.

Body temperature and body temperature roughly overlapped.

Kanna breathed quietly as she felt the temperature beneath her grasp.

'Phew.'

A strange discomfort crept up her palms, past her wrists, and stiffened her elbows.

'Damn, this is uncomfortable.'

Getting this close, touching, and above all, Sylvien turning a blind eye to all of this.

Everyone was uncomfortable. It was even more so when she thought it was a situation that Joo-hwa had dreamed of.

Kanna lifted her head as if to shake off her suffocating feeling.

"..."

Suddenly, she made contact with the blue eyes that were looking down at her.

Kanna glared at those eyes defiantly. She was sick of the pressure he put on her.

"Surely."

So Kanna spoke more bluntly.

"Definitely, your fever has gone down compared to yesterday."

"..."

"Yesterday you said you had a feeling of tightness in your chest. How are you feeling now?"

Sylvien said while looking at the hand that was leaving him.

"It's okay."

"But for now, please take the persimmon soup and the medicine I prescribed yesterday. If you have any abnormal symptoms, please be sure to tell me."

"I will do so."

It was a laughing voice. Sylvien took a step back.

"You may return to Addis Mansion now."

He picked up the newspaper again. As if the business was over, he spread it out and read it.

"What about divorce?"

Sylvien flipped through the newspaper. Then he answered dryly.

"Miss Kanna's will will be done."
