IDEFYEM - Chapter 6

IDEFYEM - Chapter 6

Black Man, I'll Do Everything For You Except Marriage!

"Is there anything special you need to pack?"

"Oh, no. However, as for dresses and personal items that I will be wearing right now..."

"There's a maid coming over there just now."

The Duke's maid, whom I had never seen before, was walking carrying a large bag.

Wow, it really comes this way.

"Good work."

When Kael handed her a silver coin, the maid's expression brightened.

After leaving a thank you note, she quickly returned to the Duke's residence.

I immediately opened my bag and checked it, revealing some familiar items of mine.

As for clothes, unless it was for a banquet, the only clothes were a few old, plain dresses.

I didn't have a lot of accessories, so even though it wasn't that big, there was still room in my bag.

"No, it's all my luggage, but... Do you want us to go to the Count's mansion right now?"

"Is there anything that can't be done? We have promised to marry without permission."

'Well, that's right."

I almost nodded at what he said made sense, but soon came to my senses.

'You shouldn't give in easily, Enrica!'

Meanwhile, Kael began a full-fledged explanation in a trustworthy voice.

"You can think of it as a slightly luxurious inn. I don't spend much time at home anyway because of work."

"..."

"I plan to hand over the entire second floor to you. If you're uncomfortable, we won't meet face-to-face."

I, who had been gaping at the overwhelming amount of consideration, finally opened my mouth to speak.

"It's suspicious. That's too much favor for a woman you saw for the first time yesterday."

Those words came with an unexpected answer.

"Because I didn't see you for the first time yesterday."

I asked back, even more surprised than when I was told to go to the Count's mansion.

"We've met before?"

"I think it would be good to explain that part over dinner tonight. Of course, if Enri allows it,"

Kael spoke with his usual cool yet gentle smile.

"What if I don't follow?"

"The explanation will be delayed."

If this happens, you have no choice but to follow along, even if it's just out of curiosity!

Before I knew it, the man held out his hand. The veins are prominent, the fingers are long, and the hands are large and sturdy.

As I just stared at it blankly, Kael asked.

"Aren't you going to catch it?"

And I suddenly grabbed his hand as if I was captivated by that voice.

Wow, I didn't mean to do this.

As I tried to slowly pull my arm back, Kael's face changed strangely.

He held me tight like a trap for prey and wouldn't let me go.

I felt like I needed to think about it more, but my legs were already moving with him.

"Wouldn't my father be very angry?"

"I will solve that part."

Even when concerns were constantly brought up, Kael responded without any signs of annoyance.

"What about the Grand Duke? What if he came to kill us in the middle of the night?"

"I don't think you need to worry about that anymore."

***

When I came to my senses, I found myself holding his hand and getting into the carriage.

Although there was no family crest, it was a luxurious and large carriage.

The hair is black, the carriage is black, and the horse pulling the carriage is black.

The clothes he wore were achromatic, so the blue eyes that shimmered like a lonely lake were very noticeable.

"Do you like black?"

"I don't have a particular preference, though. It just happened to be like this."

He also raised his eyebrows as if he knew what I was wearing.

We were making small talk together and were about to ask about the arrival time.

"How many hours does it take to get to the Count's mansion..."

For some reason, I couldn't finish the sentence.

It was because I felt like I was missing something very important.

Oh, what on earth... The moment I did that, a flashing feeling passed through my mind.

"Wow, Sarah!"

Oh no, what have I done!

Miss, go to the Count's mansion! Sarah wants to stay at the Duke's house!

It felt like auditory hallucinations were ringing in my ears. I shouted urgently.

"Wait a minute, we have to turn the carriage around! I left Sarah behind!"

“Um, Enri.”

“Hurry!”

Even in this situation, Kael, who was relaxed, pointed toward the carriage hh vb window as if to look to the side.

That's not important now!

I turned my head with a frustrated expression. Soon my eyes widened.

“Aaaah!”

"You're looking for me so quickly, Young Lady."

A beauty with flowing red hair and a healthy face. Everywhere I looked, it was Sarah.

She was riding a horse, holding the reins, riding leisurely alongside our carriage.

"Oh my God, how did you get here?"

"Even if you forget me, I can't forget you. It will follow her for the rest of her life."

"Sarah...."

I was truly moved and almost cried as I looked at her.

Sarah smiled lightly at me and looked across from me.

What's there?

I followed her with my eyes and immediately had a puzzled expression on my face.

Kael and Sarah were looking quite unhappy at each other.

Right. Sarah didn't like Kael. I said while looking at him.

"Is it okay if I go with Kael?"

"Even if you sleep on the streets, it's better than living face to face with those bastards. It was hard to bear it."

That's right, if the villainess loses patience, she'll be in big trouble. She nodded her head in agreement.

"Do not worry. Just wait for the right time, not run away. I won't forget yours."

Sarah said, tapping my cheek.

Actually, I don't think I would react that way.

My ears burned with gratitude, shame, and regret for having forgotten her, even if just for a moment.

The man was watching all of this with a very strange expression.

By the way, I said I would introduce her. Only then did I remember my promise and said.

"Oh, Sarah. Have you said hello yet? This is Count Kael Belbrington."

For some reason, Sarah, who held up the reins to him, nodded her head with an expressionless face.

"Hello. I can ride a horse well."

Hehe, I felt the blood draining from my face.

I was already wondering where you got it, but did you steal the Count's horse and ride it?

"Aha, haha. That's really kind of you. I never thought you would even lend my maid her horse."

Okay? I lent it to you.

Sarah didn't steal it.

I launched a strategy of appealing with my eyes.

Fortunately, it worked, and he smiled without saying anything.

However, I could see that it was significantly different from the smile he used to show me.

Soon Sarah walked away, and I quietly whispered into his ear.

"Kael, are you angry because of what I said?"

I'm sure I didn't make a mistake, but he narrowed his eyes and looked at me.

It was a look in his eyes that seemed to see all kinds of unusual creatures.

"Because of the words?"

"Then why do you do that?"

"Is there a problem?"

"The smile you make when you see me, and the smile you make when you see Sarah...No, that's enough!"

I didn't mean it that way, but when I thought about it, it was an embarrassing sentence to say out loud.

Unlike me, who was fidgety, Kael answered leisurely as always.

"Isn't it natural that the smile you have for your fiancé is different?"

"You know it means something different."

When I spoke as if I was crawling, the man made the sound of deflation once again.

Because of words... A repeated muttering sound was heard.

"I have chosen a nickname for you, Enri."

Suddenly he said something strange.

"You're already calling me Enri."

"That's a nickname, this is a nickname."

"What is it?"

I asked with deep anticipation, but the words I soon heard shattered my expectations.

"This colt."

I'm not even a dog...

"I beg your pardon?"

When I asked in shock, Kael covered his mouth and giggled.

"Didn't you ask, were you angry because of what I said?"

The sunlight coming in from the window poured down on his. black hair. Eyes filled with bright light sparkled freshly.

It looked just like a famous painting, so I sighed, having lost the will to get angry.

"Ugh, let's not talk."

"Enri, are you angry?"

"Yes."

"How are you going to forgive me?"

"I think it will be resolved if Kael shuts up for a moment and I take a nap and wake up."

With those last words, I crouched against the carriage wall.

Occasionally, a man's soft laughter could be heard, and then silence came.

My relaxed body gradually became tired, and I eventually fell asleep.

***

'You fell asleep quickly.'

In fact, she had no boundaries in front of the man she was trying so hard to avoid.

Pursing her lips while making a colorful little breathing sound... It was pretty cute too.

'It's like a little puppy.'

It wasn't that he didn't feel guilty at all that he happened to deceive her.

Raphael looked at her quietly, then opened the window and spoke to the coachman.

"Slow down, don't rattle."

And when he stretched out his arm to close the window again.

"Grand Duke Kronhardt."

Sarah called to him in a low voice.

"She may have grown up trapped in the Duke's mansion her entire life, but I did not."

"..."

"What on earth are you doing?"

The way she spoke was so rude that it wouldn't be surprising if she got stabbed right away.

"It's disgusting. It stinks. Where on earth did you get that curse?"

But the blue-eyed man just stared ahead with a relaxed expression.

"Did you recognize that right away? For a wandering warlock, you have decent skills."

She expected that there would be a background investigation.

Sarah, who had never thought he would say that out loud, flinched for a moment.

"Shut up. You sound like a Count, you marriage fraudster."

He opened his mouth with an emotionless face.

"Lower your voice. Your lady hears it."

"Well, you're the one who shouldn't be caught. I don't care."

"If you had, you would have said it as soon as you saw me."

Sarah clenched her fists at the words, which were infuriating but seemed to read her thoughts exactly.

A father who thinks of his daughter, a wizard, as nothing more than a convenient tool.

The servants were disrespectful to her Young Lady in order to serve such a Duke.

She had no choice but to keep her mouth shut because she thought anywhere would be better than there.

"I promise you this. I don't know why Enri is afraid of me."

Rafael stroked Enrica's hair with one hand and opened his mouth.

"I will dress and feed her with the best things in the world."

Although he spoke in a cold tone, the corners of his mouth were turning up.

"Because she is the only key to breaking my curse."
