ICTV - Chapter 20

I Changed The Villain

“I am a person who can accomplish more than you think.”

"..."

“What do you think? Are you ready to talk to me now?”

I, who was making eye contact with Edgar, realized something again. Edgar's eyes are red, the same color as his hair. I moved her lips.

“…Yes, of course, it happened.”

"Thank god. Then right now...!"

“But I’d like to talk from a little distance.”

He was puzzled.

“May I ask why?”

“I have a fiancé. I don’t want to get caught up in some unnecessary scandal.”

It's a shame there's no one around, so it's a perfect situation for misunderstanding. Edgar must have felt the same way and immediately lowered his head.

“Oh, you have a fiancé. I’m sorry. I was rude.”

“No, I wish you knew now.."

I pointed to the other side of the hallway.

“Then go over there right now, please."

"Yes."

Edgar faithfully walked towards it.

“Is this enough, Lady?”

“No. Please step back further.”

Edgar gradually withdrew from me. I continued.

"More. More. More."

Before I knew it, Edgar was at the end of the hallway. Edgar trumpeted his hand and asked.

“Lady, how far back of...!”

The reason I opened the distance was to risk gaining momentum. At that time, I turned my back and ran away.

"Lady? Lady?!"

Edgar's panicked shout was heard, but I didn't even turn my head. That much with Edgar.

Because it was painful to be there.

I felt pain in my foot as if I had been hit, but it didn't matter. I can just get treatment later. I ran towards the Hall of Silence.

“Ah, Rose, you were there.”

At that moment, I saw Belial waiting for me in front of the hall.

“I’ve waited a long time... .”

I flex my arm. Got it.

“Don’t say anything for now. Run, baby wolf!"

Belial blankly looked at my back. Although I was wearing a loose dress and high-heeled shoes, the current me was more powerful than any knight Belial had ever seen. Who would dare disobey you? Cried Belial obediently.

“...!”

And the priests who happened to witness the scene thought at the same time. Why are those two escaping from love in the temple?

***

Today, I had an uncharacteristically diligent day. I helplessly entered the mansion, supported by the maids.

“Are you okay, Miss?”

“It’s not okay....”

“Miss, what kind of date are you on?"

I want to lie down in bed quickly. I must never go to the temple again. Just that thought made me climb the stairs. It was when I was going up.

“Oh, Miss.”

Taksha, looking as exhausted as me, appeared at the top of the stairs. His blue hair was neat as if the maids had just trimmed it, but his golden eyes, like those of an eagle, were lifeless.

You had a hard day too... I felt sympathy for Taksha.

“Taksha. How was today?"

“... It was very good.”

“I’m telling you that your expression wasn’t good? Go quickly and rest."

"Thank you, Miss."

Taksha stumbled down the stairs. Beryl will soon appear. I had a hunch. Beryl and Taksha are now like one set.

“Pumpkin flower!”

Well then. Beryl suddenly popped out his face from around the corner. I don't know what we're going to talk about today, but I hope we can finish it quickly. I prayed earnestly.

Beryl approached me with his back to me

“You said you came on a date? I heard from the maids”

"Huh... I went to the Temple of Harmonia.”

“That won’t be fun. Anyway, that guy has no sense either.”

“I said I would go.”

There was silence for a moment. Beryl was so surprised that his eyes popped out.

“Did you decide to follow your parents’ lead and believe in the god Harmonia?!”

“It’s not like that. I just went there because I wanted to see it once. The temple of Harmonia is famous for its beauty.”

“Was there really no other reason?”

“… I thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea to say a prayer sometimes.”

I remembered Edgar, whom I had met in the prayer room. Ah, I feel exhausted just thinking about it. I was fed up.

“Of course not. I must never go to the temple again.”

“Then I’m glad. I also thought you went there to scout for the engagement ceremony.”

“That can’t be possible. Are you done with what you want to say now?”

“No, there are still some left.”

I asked with sincerity.

“I don’t know what it is, but please do it quickly. I'm tired... .”

“I came and picked it up.”

Beryl somehow gave something into my arms. I made a dumb sound.

"...Huh?"

It was very warm, fluffy, and soft. The moment I lifted it high, Mera was astonished.

“Miss, isn’t that a weasel?!”

Mera immediately questioned Beryl.

“Master, what if you pick up a weasel from the forest?!”

Beryl picked his ears and accepted shamelessly.

“Are you ignoring the weasel now? How cute is he?”

“ He's cute and you know how vicious weasels are...! A guy I knew had his finger bitten off by that guy!”

Just thinking about that time makes me shiver. When I met him, I liked him because he looked cute. But one day, when a weasel suddenly attacked the village, my mind completely changed. The weasel was not only excited about biting the man next door but also biting all the chickens in the chicken coop to death. A petite crab with the temperament of a wild boar, a vicious animal, that was the weasel.

“I am absolutely against it! How could you treat such a vicious animal, Young Lady?”

“Even though they are vicious, there are many nobles who raise animals of this color because they are unique. For example snakes or wolves. Oh, there was a tiger too. My friend wants to buy one right now."

“That's the problem! I also saw nobles who raised wolves and snakes! But I’ve never seen a nobleman raising a weasel anywhere!”

Beryl immediately pointed his finger at me.

“It looks like it now.”

"Young Master...!"

Mera burned brightly with the thought of protecting me.

“Is it okay for the Lady to be bitten by a weasel?”

“I won’t ask, darling.”

“Why are you so sure?”

Wild animals usually get crazily excited or rebel the moment they are caught, but Mera paused when Beryl said that that child was just curled up in the mud without any need to catch it.

“On the mud..?”

"Huh."

“Why were you in the mud? You still look young. Was your mother by any chance not with you?”

Beryl sighed deeply.

“You know that our territory hunters never kill animals with babies, right?”

Mera nodded. I was still standing with my weasel raised high.

“But would poachers watch and hunt like that?”

“Poachers..?!”

"Uh. I gave that warning last time, but poachers came in from another territory.”

“You bad guys.”

Mera's arms trembled.

“Then, are there any other animals… !”

"No. Since there was no significant income, I caught those guys out of anger. I caught it while waiting in front of the oyster."

"Weasel skin is very soft.”

I lowered my arms and took the weasel into my arms again. Beryl lightly stroked the weasel's head.

“The mother and other cubs were wiped out. This guy is the only one who survived. Still, as you said, weasels are fierce."

Because it's true, more details later.

“If it shows signs of deterioration, I will acclimate it to the wild and then return it to the forest.”

Mera's spirit noticeably softened.

“...You said that a long time ago. I didn’t even know that and just got angry.”

“No, as you said, it is true that weasels cry fiercely, so I am worried."

“Of course. Young Master.."

Mera's eyes grew bright. Beryl immediately turned his head and covered his mouth.

“Don’t look at me like that. I feel like I’m going to throw up.”

"..."

“Wow, it’s really disgusting to see a kid who usually beats up knights look like that.”

As expected, Beryl was merciless today as well. Mera, who only got hurt while trying to protect m, quietly retreated.

“Anyway, take care of yourself for the time being. Give it to me."

Beryl slapped my back painlessly.

“I have a feeling, he will never attack anyone.”

“Well, rather than saying I won’t do it.”

I made eye contact with the weasel. The weasel, which was not even moving, immediately lowered its head.

“It would be more appropriate to say that I can’t do it. Wouldn’t it?”

“...I see.”

I could clearly feel the weasel trembling through my skin. It was natural as I watched his compatriots being murdered by humans right in front of his eyes.

I didn't fix the weasel.

“But why do you have to leave it to me? Isn’t it better for brother, who knows a lot about animals, to do it yourself?”

“That’s right...!”

Beryl was about to shout in anger but stopped. Beryl massaged the back of his neck.

"It's because I don't have any time due to training. Give it a try and tell me if you can't handle it. I will take care of him except for training.”

“I don’t know how to take care of myself.”

Beryl took out a small notebook from his pocket and threw it away. Instead of me, who couldn't use both arms, Mera grabbed the notebook like a ghost. The owner and his dog throwing a frisbee... ? It was a terrible analogy, but it really seemed that way.

“I wrote down everything about weasels there. You can take care of yourself just by reading that.”

When did you write something like this again? I gave Mera a chin gesture. Mera quickly flipped through his notebook. I guess he wrote it in a hurry, so he wrote it from beginning to end.

Although it was written in writing, it was not difficult to recognize it.

“Then, I’m going.”

Beryl went down the stairs, swinging his free arms vigorously. Mera closed the notebook again.

“Where are you going again, Master?”

“I’m going to have a snack with Taksha.”

Beryl's face became serious.

“You want to join in too, but give up. ..No. What I’m saying is that I want to join in."

“We’ll have men’s conversations while eating milk and chocolate.”

Conversations between men alone are a mess. I immediately poured cold water on it.

“Stop harassing Taksha.”

“Where is this lie… ! Do you know how much he came to respect me while training together?! Perhaps in this mansion, Taksha trusts and follows me the most?!”

“It’s a common misconception among superiors.”

“It’s not a mistake...!”

Meanwhile, Mera shyly raised both hands. She made a heart shape.

“For your information, we sincerely thank you, Miss. I like you."

"Oh yeah."

“Can you feel our hearts?"

“Oh, it feels really good.”

"Thank God. I will continue to work hard to make you feel that way, Young Lady!!”

I answered half-heartedly and stared at the dresser in the middle of the hallway. Underneath the vase containing the crystal decorations that Belial had given as a gift, a lace cloth was spread. It smelled good like it had been freshly washed

“Can I use this?”
