Chapter 53 - Zanobi, Human Waste

Chapter 53 - Zanobi, Human Waste

Sister, I'm The Queen In This Life

In the tent where the leadership was gathered, tension was palpable. Everyone was holding their breath and just watching.

"Hahaha, it's hard to send my son off to get married."

Leo III smiled brightly and captured the crowd.

"Let's leave the complicated things, like language and all, to the practitioners and have a big drink together as a nation. First of all, we need to understand each other before we can negotiate! Let's talk about something fun!"

The San Carlo nobles all laughed loudly along with Leo III. When the King himself stepped forward to lighten the mood, the envoys of the Kingdom of Gallico no longer let go of their objections and just laughed along. They all raised a glass of champagne from Gallico and moistened their lips after toasting, but their palms and armpits were already damp. It seemed like it would be a difficult negotiation.

Without knowing Prince Alfonso's situation, Ariadne was in a depressed mood and drove her horse and walked aimlessly along the path outside the hunting ground. She was good at horseback riding, but she wasn't good at hunting or enjoyed hunting, so she had no intention of going deep into the forest. She was just circling outside because in order to get inside the tent and sit down, she had to spend time sitting with Lucrezia, Isabella, and Zanobi.

"I'd rather die than get sick."

Ariadne was now planning to turn her nose around and return to the tent. However, it seems that one piece of trash that was thought to be well stored in the trash can escaped.

"Hey, let's talk."

It was Zanobi. He was covered in dust as if he had been chasing Ariadne earlier. Zanobi came closer, riding his horse, which was small and muscular like him. Ariadne frowned and took a step back.

"I have nothing to talk to you about."

"If I said talk, let's talk!"

He came out rough from the beginning as if trying to gain the upper hand by showing off his power. Ariadne pulled the reins to further increase the distance between herself and Zanobi.

"Be careful. There are a lot of people watching the hunting competition, but this time, you don't want to cause a fuss in a public place, let alone inside the house, right?"

Zanobi's face darkened as he thought Ariadne had discovered his previous mistake. It was referring to the whistle-blowing after seeing a costume accident at Ariadne's debutante ball. At that time, he was always ashamed of having been stared at by the capital's nobles, thinking he was a country bumpkin, and he blamed Ariadne for making him think about that incident again.

Because he was angry, he pushed Ariadne even harder.

"They say there's no one here. Even if I bury you now, no one will know."

Zanobi rode his horse closer to Ariadne as if threatening. Even though Ariadne's horse lagged behind him, Zanobi's pony overlapped Ariadne's brown horse as if crossing her path.

"I heard you have a very dirty mouth? Are you going to soak it? Is that something a Lady would use?"

Ah, it looks like Isabella was holding on to Zanobi and whispering to him, Ariadne thought, raising her head and glaring at Zanobi vaguely. She decided to let go of her pretense for now.

"What do you mean? I don't know anything about it."

"Ha! Look at this girl. Look at the little bastard who lies with a rag in her mouth and without conscience!"

Zanobi's voice became louder and louder, and he was now yelling at Ariadne. He shouted and seemed to feel a sense of superiority and joy. There was a reason for this expression of violence. Zanobi felt like he was a knight for poor Isabella.

"If you mess around without knowing what's up or down, you could end up in the goal without even a mouse or a bird knowing! This brother Zanobi won't let you go if you bother poor Isabella one more time!"

"Ha!"

Ariadne snorted loudly. Ariadne was able to understand more and more why Zanobi was so boastful every time he spoke more. He did it for Isabella's sake, more precisely to impress Isabella. There was no way Zanobi and Isabella could ever share a true friendship, and there was only one reason why Zanobi was acting out to impress Isabella. After realizing that, Zanobi looked even dirtier.

"Look, even if our mouths are crooked, let's speak straight."

After finishing assessing the situation, Ariadne changed her tone of voice toward Zanobi. After doing her calculations, there was no harm her Zanobi could have inflicted on her. Ariadne has power, but she chooses to hide it and not bow down to it.

Her first priority was to be kind and polite to everyone, a habit that Ariadne had not yet been able to shake off from her last life. But that was not a superior strategy. Sometimes you have to step on a bug, but then it realizes that it is a bug, and it doesn't bother you anymore.

Ariadne had a bewildered smile on her lips and a cold look in her eyes, revealing her true feelings that she rarely showed outside of herself. As soon as she revealed her true colors, she pulled on the reins of her horse and turned her rider. She had no intention of being alone with Zanobi on the narrow path.

"I guess you were anxious to impress Isabella, but that doesn't mean anything. Even if you sacrificed all of your gallbladder, do you think Isabella would take care of me instead of an unemployed bum like you?"

She was planning to shake off Zanobi and run back to the tent. Zanobi's horse was a pony for him to walk long distances, and Ariadne's horse was a course for her to run fast. There was no way she would be pushed back by Zanobi at her speed.

"And I know why you're acting like this, but she's your real cousin. You're such a dirty bastard."

Ariadne's horse's head broke through the gap blocked by Zanobi's pony and went out to the other side of the path. Ariadne's horse was a powerful course, and she could easily beat Zanobi's ponies, either by strength or speed. Now all I had to do was put my spurs on and run.

Ariadne, feeling safe, turned and looked at Zanobi with disgusting eyes. Ariadne looked Zanobi up and down and added one word.

"Before you act mean to others, take care of yourself properly. A leech that sucks other people's blood. Don't you feel sorry for Aunt Lucrezia?"

This time, Zanobi was so excited that he snorted after being stabbed in the painful spot. The fact that he was incompetent was one of the two biggest weaknesses he tried to ignore, along with the fact that he was ugly.

"You fucking bastard! Shut your mouth!"

However, Ariadne's harsh words did not stop there, as she was once again enraged by being cursed by trash.

"Have you ever earned even just one ducato with your own hands? You look like incompetent human trash!"

This hurt. Zanobi dreamed of a life in which he would always be successful, the gold of the world would flow to him like iron is attracted to a magnet, and he would be liked and respected by everyone.

But the reality was a gutter. Of course, the world was bad and the knights did not recognize his outstanding talent, but it was true that he was not making money anyway. The longer the period went on, the more horrified Zanobi became by the thought that he might not be the great hero he had imagined himself to be, and he became proportionately vicious.

Zanobi, who was very excited, approached Ariadne with a huff. When Ariadne saw that Zanobi's face had turned red, she quickly pulled the reins to change the direction of her horse's head and spurred him to run toward the tent.

Normally, it would have definitely succeeded. Even if Zanobi returned to the tent and got angry at Ariadne, he could not be arrogant towards Ariadne because he was only a guest of the de Mare family.

Even if he whined at Lucrezia, Ariadne ended up receiving her expenses directly from Cardinal de Mare. Shee largely escaped Lucrezia's influence.

Zanobi had no connections in the capital, so no one would believe his words. He had no worries about his reputation. In other words, there was nothing Zanobi could do to Ariadne as long as she avoided this situation. He was arrogant and irreverent, believing that the bastard who had nothing was hanging between his legs. He was the most hated type in the world. But there was something she didn't expect.

Zanobi took out the hunting crossbow he was carrying on his back. Ariadne shouted in surprise when she saw the bright blue arrowhead loaded in the crossbow.

"What are you doing! Are you crazy? Shooting a crossbow at people?!"

If I turned around and ran away, it would be the same as giving the entire back tonZanobi to use as a target. Ariadne drove her horse and ran into the nearby grove. She was looking for cover.

But Zanobi was too close. He aimed the crossbow and shot at Ariadne's back.

"Take a taste, you nasty bitch!"

If he had to choose between the horse's butt and Ariadne's back, Janobi would have shot closer to the horse's butt, but he thought he had no choice if he got hit on Ariadne's back.

Boom!

The arrow, which was fired from such a close range that it was embarrassing to use a crossbow, flew quickly and fortunately lodged deep in Ariadne's horse's buttocks.

Hee hee hee!

However, Ariadne's horse was startled, let a long cry, and ran away from the trail, carrying Ariadne, into the deep forest of the hunting ground. Left alone, Zanobi spits out his phlegm, feeling a mixture of exhilaration and discomfort, and spat it on the floor.

“Tsk!”

It was a mistake for that bitch to criticize the great Zanobi first. His anger at the person who discovered his weakness was overwhelmingly greater than his guilt for shooting a person with a lethal crossbow. He didn't do anything wrong. Anyway. What if he gets caught? It will be fine. He got hit on the horse's butt anyway. He didn't even shoot at people.

 ***

Cesare was looking around attentively with his eyes wide open, looking for animal tracks in the dark forest. The beasts of the forest were so deeply hidden that one had to listen carefully to every sound of leaves shaking in the wind or rustling of fallen leaves.

Wasssss!

Hee hee hee!

In that sense, the brown horse rushing across the forest at an insane speed instantly stole everyone's attention.

"What is that, Count?"

A subordinate asked Cesare who was aiming at a running horse with a hunting bow loaded with arrows. Cesare was frightened when he saw the well-aimed arrow and stopped his subordinate.

"There's a human, you idiot!" Don't shoot!"

As expected, on top of the brown horse, a black-haired girl was holding the horse's reins tightly and clinging quietly as if desperately trying not to fall off. It seemed like she didn't even have the energy to scream. Her hair, which seemed to have been neatly braided, was messy and fluttering in the air every time the horse ran wild. Ariadne now seemed to be losing her stamina.

"I think she'll fall off her horse if I leave it like that."

Cesare looked in Ariadne's direction. It seemed like a battle to see whether the horse would get tired first or the person on the horse would get tired first, but it seemed like the person would get tired first.

"I came here to catch a game, but it turns out I'm going to catch people."

After contemplating for a moment, Cesare eventually spurred the horse to run forward.

"You! If you see a 'golden deer', don't catch it but wait! You must never catch it! You can't lose it to someone else!"

He couldn't give up his obsession with the 'Golden Deer'.

***

Ariadne was holding on to the reins with all her might to keep from falling off the horse. This horse's muscles continued to ache from the arrows stuck in his buttocks every time he moved, but he continued to run wild. After each jump, she expected him to calm down a bit, but her horse always made the next jump.

Ariadne was now feeling nauseous to the core. She was holding the reins so tightly that the blood stopped flowing through her hands, and the reins dug into the flesh of her palms, causing wounds that hurt every time her horse moved.

'Ah, it's too much now!

While she was thinking about whether she would get seriously hurt if she let go and fell, a familiar tenor-tone male voice rang in her ears.

"Miss, relax! You shouldn't try to defeat a horse with force!"

It was Cesare.

"Relax between your legs! If you put pressure on the horse due to your thigh strength, the horse will startle more!"

Following the voice's instructions, she relaxed her legs and held on with the strength of her feet in the stirrups.

"That's right, you're good! Pull your upper body forward! The center of gravity is now too far back!"

Although I was completely out of my wits, I tried to follow Cesare's instructions by leaning forward as much as possible. But Ariadne, for her skinny adolescent self, did not have the waist to relieve the pressure of her thighs and support the weight of her body, relying only on her stirrups.

Since Cesare was thinking by his own standards, he naturally thought that this level was possible, but the physical condition of a nobleman in his 20s, whose virtue was always training for war, and a teenage girl who was on an extreme diet was completely different.

Ariadne followed Cesare's instructions relaxed her thighs and supported herself only on her feet. Her arms then began to pull on the reins. Her bit was pulled even shorter and her words were uncomfortable in her mouth, so she struggled once more.

 Hee hee hee!

The place where her horse was running wild trees and protruding rocks and stones. Ariadne's horse whirled around, struggling, and then jumped towards the fallen tree. Cesare's eyes widened at her. Her horse was on the verge of tripping over a rock next to an old tree.

"Dangerous!"

As if to match the rhythm of the words, Ariadne's words stumbled greatly.
