SPMB - Chapter 6

“Your Excellency, I have something to tell you.”

On the way to the office, Sylvien’s steps stopped abruptly.

“Is there a problem?”

It was a polite honorific, the same as when dealing with Josephine.

It was nothing new, so the butler was not surprised.

Duke Sylvienne Valentino was always like this. He was equally courteous to everyone, regardless of his status.

But for some reason, even then, Sylvien didn't seem like a friendly person at all. On the contrary, even the air felt arrogant, as if looking down on everyone from the thin summit.

“In fact…”

The butler explained what happened today.

Conflict between Kanna and Josephine. And now, the fact that Kanna’s legs were almost ruptured and boiling with heat.

Sylvienne listened to the end without raising an eyebrow.

“So?”

“What should I do? The injury is not light, so it will be dangerous if left alone.”

It was a no-brainer answer.

“The great and the small matters within the family managed by Countess Aleister.”

A death sentence to leave you alone, whether you die or not, whether you become an idiot or not.

That was it.

Sylvienne passed the butler as it was.

Josephine’s prediction that no one would care what Kanna did was correct.

Sylvienne Calention did not care whether his wife died or not.

‘Wow, it looks like she is really trying to kill me.’

Early in the morning, I barely came to my intensity.

And the anxiety that I might really die was intense.

That’s why the current situation didn't make sense. A cold sweat drenched her whole body, and a fever that rose like a ball of fire. More than anything,

“Oh!”

Ache.

A moan escaped spontaneously from the burning pain in her calf. Kanna was terrified and checked her calves discreetly.

The moment I put it in my eyes, I automatically stopped breathing.

As expected.

‘It’s terrible.’

If left as it is, inflammation will spread and her leg will fester.

“Is that all? If it is not disinfected, there is a high probability of infection with germs, and in the worst case, the nerves in her legs are completely damaged and crippled.

‘I could die.’

It is different from the earth full of antibiotics and various vaccines.

It is an era where you can die as it is if you are infected with germs left to grow inflammation.

‘But you’re just leaving me alone? No medicine, no one to take care of me?’

“It was really bad. After all, people in this world originally regarded human lives like ants.

I was so excited that the laughter was scattered.

I'm sorry, but I'll let them live up to their expectations. It’s about this much because you can heal enough on your own.

“Okay… Ugh, it hurts to death.”

I felt like i was about to fall down, but i got off the bed and crawled on the floor.

I desperately wanted to lie down, but…

‘There’s nothing that can be solved by lying down.’

After wandering around the room for a while, I found something useful. Clean pillow sheets, handkerchief, and whiskey.

‘First, let's disinfect the wound.’

Kanna leaned her back against the wall and grabbed the whiskey bottle. I’m sure it will hurt terribly. When you prepare your mind and take a deep breath.

‘Wait for a sec, what is that?’

Kanna’s eyes were fixed on the window.

Outside the large window, thick branches stretched almost to the front of the window.

A room with a tree outside the window, it was not a space that could be given to the Duchess. It was a room where Kanna’s location could be known in this mansion, but…

That’s not important now.

‘That tree, it sure looks like that tree.’

I was sure the moment I opened the window.

This fragrance from the tree. This leaf and its appearance!

‘It’s a camphor tree.’

A lump of medical herbs with nothing to throw away. from wood to stem bark and leaves. In fact, in Korea, it was a tree used as a herbal medicine.

‘In particular, the leaves of the camphor tree were effective in relieving bruises and inflammation, so they were the best medicine for first aid.

But just in time, that tree was growing in front of the window, this…

‘Have camphor trees grown on this continent?’

The camphor tree is a plant of the eastern continent.

But here, in the garden of an aristocrat family in the west continent?

‘Josephine, she said that she diligently collects plants from the east continent, and it was true.’

Recalling the memory from Joo-hwa, Kanna lowered her head out the window.

‘As I expected, I knew it.’

A black magic stone is embedded in the wooden pole of the camphor tree. The magic stone is probably entangled in the roots.

The power to live on a continent with an unstable climate, a land that is uninhabitable - If it weren't for that magic stone, the tree would have died right away.

Extending plant life with magic stones is a bad taste. That kind of thing is popular among noble ladies!

‘Still, it’s a good thing for me.’

Kanna collected the leaves. She then sat back against the wall and picked up the whiskey.

Now you really need to disinfect the wound.

She gulped and swallowed, titling the whiskey bottle over her calf. The alcohol spilled over the wound, and…

“...”

In an instant, a light flashed in front of my eyes, and a moan erupted from the mouth of the jaw. The pain was so great that it felt as if my skin was being burned by fire.

‘Be patient. Don’t faint.’

With whiskey-washed hands, she crushed the leaves of the camphor tree, and when the juice hand came out, she carefully placed it on the wound on her calf.

“Whoa.”

Ignoring the warm sensation, I tore up the sheet and wrapped it around the wound like a bandage.

That’s it. I did everything I could. Then comes a sigh of relief.

‘I was lucky. If I keep treating it like this, the wound will heal quickly.’

Suddenly, I leaned my head against the wall and closed my eyes

It was a really stormy day.

I was living in Korea as Joo-hwa until just before I fell asleep at night, and I was going to go to work the next day, but I had a date on the weekend.

‘Mom, dad, Son Hong, and my wonderful boyfriend.

In an instant, a huge longing hit my heart and passed. She was about to sob just a little, a little bit, but Kanna gritted her teeth and held on to it.

I will never cry.

Because now is not the time for that. Because it’s not the time to be weak.

“Joo-hwa, in a moment of crisis, tears don't solve anything. Rather, it makes you weaker.”

Josephine Ailester had tea time in the greenhouse.

A greenhouse full of plants from the eastern continent. This greenhouse maintained with magic stone was one of Josephine's pride.

“Mary, what happened to Kanna?”

It’s been quite a while since the fan kicked Kanna out, but I still haven’t heard that the corpse had been removed.

Besides, judging from the fact that she emptied the food that was pushed like dog food in her room, he didn’t seem to be dead yet.

“It seems she's alive, but.. I’ve left that much scar, so she will die today or tomorrow.”

“Okay. Are you sure no one is helping her?”

“Yes. I have told all the servants of the mansion that no one will enter her room, Ma’am.”

“Yes, I understand. Get out.”

Mary greeted Josephine and left the greenhouse.

‘Like a stupid girl, why are you hurting yourself by touching me?’

Kanna, the memory of hitting her calf is still vivid. Maybe that’s why the pain still hasn't been resolved.

‘I’ll be relieved when I see that bitch die.’

How dare you go against me, my beloved daughter in law!

“Ha, the maid!”

Just then, a maid came running in full panting. Mary frowned at her stump.

“Who told you to run so recklessly? If the madam sees it…”

“Miss Kanna.”

Huff, huff. Her words are interrupted because she is out of breath. When Kanna came up, Mary’s eyes widened.

“The girl is finally dead! Yes!”

Then, the face of the gasping maid turned pale.

“What? Why are you doing that?”
