THIBV - Chapter 137

'Poisonous, poisonous.'

Isaac couldn't believe that Briget hadn't really helped the Florence family.

No way, no way, he was waiting, and he became impatient and went to the Florence family on the day of the changeup.

"Help me! Evil! Let go of me! Older brother! Help me!"

Chloe screamed as she was dragged away by the thugs.

"Chloe! Chloe! What the hell is this, what... hell! Ugh!"

Lauren grabbed the back of the neck and fell.

"Mother! Hurry up and... the security forces!"

Josh rushed to fetch the security forces and was caught by the thugs.

Passers-by hid or turned around for fear of sparks flying at us.

Isaac, who had been hiding in a corner, was afraid that Josh would find him, so he quickly left and ran straight to Bridget.

"Are you sure you're going to do this? Chloe was taken away!"

Bridget was idly arranging flowers.

You wouldn't be able to do that without seeing how desperate your sister had been!

Bridget's swollen eyes didn't seem out of his mind. Luckily for Bridget.

"Isaac, the next time you come, I'm going to ask you to decide whether to get a divorce by agreement or meditation."

"Is that a problem now?"

"If you don't want to talk about it, leave."

Bridget called the soldiers, and Isaac didn't have time to think too much.

Unprepared, he slammed out the last of his hand.

"I actually know your secret! I've heard it all from the Duke of Linchester!"

"...?"

It was then that Bridget's gaze turned to Isaac.

Isaac laughed, trying to feign relaxation.

"Three years ago, it was Josh who sold Julian Blake to Queen Josephine."

"..."

Looking at Bridget, who couldn't say anything, Isaac smiled in repentance.

When he asked the Duke of Linchester to help, the Duke revealed the secret to Isaac.

"You may not have noticed, but I'm hanging out with the Duke of Linchester these days."

Look at it. How can she cover up Josh's guilt to protect her family, and still not know her own family?

"If Josh's life is at stake, will you be as calm as you are now?"

Bridget could see into Isaac's sneaky smile.

Bridget let out a small sigh.

But that's not all, her gaze was on the flower again. Busily trimming the rough thorns of the roses with flower scissors, she cut off the long stems.

"Tell him."

"...What?"

"Go tell His Majesty."

Bridget scowled at Isaac with an unwavering gaze.

"I'll go and talk to His Majesty. Still don't you realize that I didn't save Chloe? Now I don't care if Josh dies. If you've done something worth it, you'll have to pay for it. I've seen it so many times so far."

"Bridget!"

"It's ridiculous that you trust the Duke of Linchester, who is too afraid of His Majesty to go into politics, and who greedily hides near the capital and aims for the royal palace."

"...!"

"If he knew about it, why didn't he threaten me and keep it hidden until now and then hand it over to you?"

"That's..."

"Because he knew it would be hard for anyone to survive."

Isaac was speechless.

'Is that so?'

Bridget seemed to have a point.

Bridget clicked her tongue at Isaac's wavering gaze.

From the moment she learned that Isaac was in league with the Duke of Linchester, it was to be expected that the secret would trickle into him.

The Duke of Linchester did not detonate it himself, because it was useless.

Josh's death doesn't hurt Julian much.

It might have caused Bridget pain, but it would have been hard for the Duke to predict what would happen next.

It would have been difficult for the Duke now to know what would happen next, whether the secret would deteriorate Julian and Bridget's relationship, and if so, to what extent, or whether Julian would leave Josh alone for Bridget's sake.

That's how strange the relationship between Julian and Bridget is.

There was no way the Duke would have dared to take a great risk to cause a little distraction.

"You're being taken advantage of by the Duke of Linchester. Thoroughly and ruthlessly."

Isaac smiled. It was a distorted laugh.

"Are you doing this on purpose because you're afraid I'm going to tell the King about it?"

"Yes, you want to know the truth? Go back to Eli right now. Someone who will tell you the truth will be at Winston Manor right now."

Isaac's eyes widened at the sudden appearance of Eli's name.

"Eh, what are you going to do to Eli! Are you going to kidnap that poor kid again? If you put a finger on him, I won't let...it!"

As he did so, his eyes rolled back and he ran out of the parlor in a frenzy.

Bridget left Isaac alone.

But that didn't mean she was just looking at him.

Today's cube would rob Isaac of his last hope.

***

"Eli! Eli!"

Isaac hurried back to Winston Manor to find Eli.

On the other side of the hall, he could hear the baby's laughter.

It just so happened that Cedric found Isaac.

"Master, the man who is called Eli's biological father has come to visit."

"What are you talking about? Eli's biological father? You've got a scammer in my house?"

Isaac frantically made his way to the nursery.

It was amazing how these crazy hires had taken Bridget's scammer to the nursery.

"Damn you! How dare you take a scammer to my son? If only he put a finger on...!"

Isaac swung open the door to the baby's room.

By the way.

"...!"

Eli was giggling in Wen's arms.

He looked just like Eli.

"What, what are you?"

Surprised, Isaac smirked and compared Eli's face to the man's. He wasn't wrong.

He snatched Eli away, but he couldn't take his eyes off the man's face.

The man obediently handed over the baby.

Tears welled up in his eyes.

"My lord... Please give my son back. I can't live every day because I'm anxious."

"What are you talking about?"

"I've been told that my son is going to be a nobleman, that if I keep my mouth shut, no one will know, I'm sure that's what I've heard... Every time a lot of people come to me and ask me to do this or that, I get so nervous... Ugh!"

The man burst into tears.

Isaac was embarrassed by the situation.

"If I don't reveal the truth, God will punish me! I want to stop now. I was wrong. It's my fault for not being able to dissuade my foolish wife. My wife is missing. I must have been judged by God for that! Ugh!"

The man revealed that he was the nanny's husband.

Shocking stories came out of his mouth.

The story of Penelope coming to visit her one day, the story of the nanny telling him that his son was going to become a nobleman, the story of swapping his son with a nobleman's baby, and the story of how she suddenly came back and hid his son by saying that if she made a mistake, she would die...

Isaac couldn't understand what he was told.

It was a language he knew, but he couldn't make out what it meant.

'The nanny was recommended to her by the Duke of Linchester out of pity for Penelope.'

Isaac was horrified from head to toe.

Penelope's accident of going to the Hudson mansion and giving birth flashed through his mind.

Eleanor was suspicious of the baby and Penelope.

And the suspicious words of the doctor Bridget brought in.

Isaac compared himself to Eli in the mirror.

No matter how long he showed his face, Eli didn't look like him at all.

Rather, he looked exactly like the nanny's husband, whose face he had never seen before.

Isaac didn't want to admit it.

"Don't talk nonsense, get out!"

So Isaac kicked him out.

But doubts once sprouted took root deep in his heart.

The way he looked at Eli was completely different than before.
