THIBV - Chapter 126

I received word from Cedric that Isaac had found Eli.

'How did you find it?'

They said the nanny ran away with him.

Isaac, who had no way of finding the baby and was just sobbing and bringing a letter of reflection, could not have found it with his own abilities.

After much thought, I came to the conclusion that the Duke of Linchester had been involved.

Since it was the Duke of Linchester who had introduced the nanny to him in the first place, it would not have been a problem for him to find where he had hidden Eli.

'You abandoned Penelope, and now you're trying to use Isaac?'

Just as I was hovering around trying to get rid of the Duke of Linchester, he was also hovering around Bridget.

'You can't confront Julian head-on, so you decided to target me.'

I had the same doubts when I used Penelope, but seeing him use Isaac as well gave me confidence.

That the Duke of Linchester had established himself as Julian's weak point.

'That's what I was hoping for.'

I have been exposing myself all along.

I continued to get noticed by appearing in gossip magazines, becoming a government official, and taking bribes.

It was to become a target.

A hunter who goes out hunting hides himself secretly.

However, the moment I decide on a target and launch an attack, my presence is revealed.

The Duke of Linchester may have quickly cut Penelope off to prevent her from standing trial, but it was clear that he still had ambitions for the throne.

Also, even though I wasn't bitten on the neck, my arms and legs were torn off, causing bleeding.

Well, how about this time?

'Move. Duke of Linchester. I'll make sure you get a good breather.'

Through the events that have occurred, my gaze has become much sharper and fiercer than before.

Today was Eric's last day of purification.

Although it was sad that it was the last, Eric entered the palace to meet Bridget.

But when he actually entered the reception room, he was greatly disappointed.

"You have a good complexion, so you must be faking it."

Julian, sitting with Bridget by her side, greeted Eric with a swaying of his crossed legs. He had an arrogant look In his eyes and a crooked smile.

Eric replied sullenly.

"I'm just pretending to be sick? I'm feeling much better thanks to Mrs. Winston."

However, he was secretly relieved to know that Julian had forgiven him for the last time and not taken it to heart. Eric was also feeling sorry for what happened back then.

But the two hid their true feelings and bickered.

"You don't even know shame, and you say with your own mouth that you lost to a magician."

"I meant to say that Mrs. Winston has great purifying powers, but Your Majesty is now belittling her abilities."

"You are overestimating the influence of Magi. And I know better than anyone how great Bridget's abilities are."

"I've been purified so many times already that I know enough now."

"You know what? Bridget pours her energy into me almost every day."

The spears and shields clashed rapidly.

"Your Majesty."

If Bridget hadn't stopped Julian in shock at his last words, either the spear or the shield would have been broken or pierced.

Fortunately, Eric had no idea what that meant.

Bridget fanned her flushed face with her hands.

Julian felt superior at the fact that he and Bridget had something in common and he wrapped his arms around Bridget's waist.

'You two are close.'

Bridget never knew that Eric could make such a cold expression.

Besides, it was the first time she noticed that Julian liked and welcomed Eric so much.

She could tell by the way Julian's magi were avoiding Eric on their own.

Eric was weak to magic while Julian was the type that emitted magic...

So she was secretly worried about having Eric and Julian meet, but Julian was so happy for Eric that his magi wasn't attached to Eric at all.

"I didn't know you two were this close."

As Bridget clapped her hands slightly in approval, the two looked at her with trembling faces.

"Don't be shy, just admit your love for each other."

"..."

"..."

"Yes, then. Now that we're done with the greetings, shall we get to work?"

Bridget placed her hands on Eric's body and purified him while Julian watched.

Eric's expression softened as he felt her power enter his body.

He couldn't help it. Bridget's power was so good that he couldn't control his expression.

Julian glared at it and then picked up the mirror next to him.

Eric, who saw his absent-minded face reflected there, flinched and changed his expression.

Julian grinned mischievously.

Eric bit his lip and glared at Julian.

"You look like a fool."

"It's just a part of the healing process. Why are you here? Are you free?"

"There is enough time to watch your disgrace."

"Is that right? Are you jealous?"

"I?"

Julian snorted.

"Do you think you can be the object of jealousy? You don't know your place."

"If you really think so, then I am glad. I am sure you will not prevent me from showing my sincerity to Mrs. Winston."

Eric smiled provocatively and held out the gift he had brought to Bridget.

"Oh my, what is this?"

"Please open it. I have prepared this as a token of my gratitude for the treatment you have given me."

Bridget, who had been leisurely watching the two people's love fight, opened the box Eric had handed her.

It contained perfume and a cute-looking brooch.

Julian, who was glancing at it from the side, laughed at the gift.

"Are you grateful? For something like that, the gift isn't that great."

He thought it was a trivial gift, but Bridget's reaction was otherwise.

"Thank you, Sir Eric. How did you know I liked perfume?"

"Whenever you come near, there's a faint scent. It doesn't spread like perfume, but it has a special scent, so I knew it was essential oil. Do you enjoy taking essential oil baths?"

"You are so delicate. How could you..."

"Haha, what is it? I'm glad you like it. It may be small, but I put a lot of heart into it."

"..."

Julian's eyes narrowed.

"Hmmm. It's good."

He took the bottle of perfume out of the box and looked at it.

"Thanks to you, my bed will be filled with fragrance tonight."

"Julian!"

"..."

Bridget lowered her voice to stop him. This time, she was so flustered that she unconsciously called out Julian's name.

But that had the counterproductive effect of making Eric imagine even more intimate scenes between the two.

Eric took a deep breath and shook his head to shake off the thoughts.

"...I can put the brooch on myself.."

"Did you buy it to match Bridget's hairpin? They look similar."

Julian picked up the brooch faster than Eric.

Bridget often wore a hairpin with many small white flowers on it. She still does.

"This is my gift. You've chosen my taste well, Eric. I like the way Bridget looks when she wears something like this."

"..."

Julian smiled and placed the brooch on Brigitte's chest.

Eric clenched his fist.

Bridget looked back and forth between Julian and Eric.

She doesn't think it will work.

"Me too. I should have brought out the refreshments a long time ago. Excuse me for a moment. You two go talk."

Bridget could have had the maid do it, but she did it on purpose.

She knew Julian had been acting childish all along.

She thinks it's because he was used to bickering like this since he was young, so she thinks that's how he acted back then.

'Maybe they fought over Millea's love.'

Anyway, it seemed like she had to let go so they could stop the childish fight and have a proper conversation.

The reason Julian brought Eric along was probably because he wanted to talk to him.

Bridget stepped aside slightly.
