ICTFF - Chapter 65

You, be my colleague (4)

The smile disappeared from Baba's lips as he listened to the explanation. He soon pointed to himself with his finger.

"Why would I do that?"

"You have to pay for the meal."

"Tell me after giving me some food."

"Then consider it as payment for letting you stay here."

"Fuck."

He spat out a curse and laughed again, a bizarre smile that seemed completely out of place in the situation.

But he didn't refuse. It was clear that he thought it would be fun.

There were currently four types of herbal concentrates prepared. It was just the right number for four men to each spray one bottle.

Unfortunately, I couldn't help it. To be honest, I couldn't even leave the villa because of the stench coming from the monster.

The four men took turns spraying the herbal essence on their bodies. and then approached the monsters they were each assigned to.

The results were all failures. Even though they sprayed the herb essence, the monsters recognized it accurately and showed their killing intent.

During the process, there was a commotion where the rope of the demon that Baba was in charge of broke, but it was quickly resolved.

"Can I kill it?"

"No! Knock him out!"

After the experiment was over, the monster was tied up tightly and left in the snow.

The ones who had been getting hit by the falling snow suddenly became quiet. It was as if they had gone into hibernation.

Only then did the four men enter the villa, emitting a terrible stench.

"Ugh, oops, sorry, oops!"

Unfortunately, they couldn't hold back the nausea. The three men quickly dispersed to the bathroom.

Baba, who had been holding out on his own, was unable to overcome the murderous Intent of the three men who had just washed up, so he went into the bathroom for the last time.

"What's wrong with his nose? How can he just sit there and smell like that?"

"I've heard that there are surprisingly many assassins who can't smell. If you have a keen sense of smell... it's because you live in an environment where you can't stand it, so it's degenerated."

When I told him the story I had once heard from Oslo, Rahon's expression relaxed a little.

"Well, that's the point. You know we all failed today, right? Let's try again tomorrow with different combinations."

"As long as you guys are okay with it, I'm fine with it."

While we were talking for a while, a man I had never seen before came downstairs into the reception room.

The man who appeared with a towel carelessly placed on his head was a delicate beauty with platinum blonde hair and blue eyes like Oslo.

However, while Oslo was splendid enough to focus everyone's attention, the man's impression was strangely vague.

Even though he clearly had a striking appearance, strangely, I didn't pay much attention to him. Rahon opened his mouth slightly.

"Who are you?"

"What are you saying?"

He was surprisingly Baba. I could not have imagined that such a handsome face was hidden under that gloomy mask.

Rahon narrowed his eyes with a suspicious look.

"Why are you an assassin with that face?"

"It's like you're a guardian with that face."

Baba tried to slip away naturally, but it didn't work on Rahon.

"I'm not curious about your personal life either, so I'll skip that, but I need to know this. Where have you been for the past few days?"

"I have to think carefully when changing owners."

"It's not a worry, it's a calculation. So, you must have appeared because you decided to transfer from the Third Prince to Millenia?"

"This one looks more fun. But there's one thing that catches my eye."

"What is it?"

"I don't think this owner will live long."

The three men's expressions immediately turned fierce. Baba raised his hands as if surrendering.

"Wow, look at those fierce eyes. I got goosebumps."

Then he rolled up his sleeves and made a fuss, Ian coldly slapped away his arm, which was full of scars rather than goosebumps.

"Explain it clearly. What do you mean?"

"A few outsiders have trickled into Eldern City. They look familiar, so I took a closer look and found out they're in the same profession as me."

"Are they an assassin?"

"Why do you think they came all the way from the capital to here? It seems to me that these two people are their targets. What do you think?"

Baba, pointing to me and Kalit, continued speaking while lowering his sleeves.

"They are not a small group of elites like us, but there are quite a lot of them."

"More than twenty of you attacked me. Are you a small elite group?"

Baba shrugged his shoulders at Rahon's grumbling.

"This incident was special. Normally, we would move one at a time. But they are the type of people who just push forward with numbers. They have no confidence in their abilities."

It was called the Assassin's Guild, but in reality, it was a criminal group comprised of a small number of assassins and thugs who acted as wind catchers.

They did not hesitate to betray and did not hesitate to do any dirty work as long as they could make money. That is why they were said to be ostracized in that world.

"If we have to compare, we are poison and they are shit. Do you avoid shit because you are afraid of it? You avoid it because it is dirty."

"Did you come back to warn me about that?"

"We can't just sit by and watch our master be in danger. Rahon, why are you looking so scared? Are you that scared?"

"Does this look scary to you?"

"Don't worry too much. As long as you're here, nothing will happen. How could they get here?"

Baba giggled with excitement.

He didn't show up to warn me. He just showed up to see how I would react.

"You've been researching me for a few days, is that all?"

"It's a minor issue. I want my master to live longer than me so that I can have fun until the day I die."

"Baba, lying is difficult."

"Lie?"

"How did you get to and from the city when the snow was up to your waist? It must have been difficult to ride a horse. Are you saying you walked there and back?"

"No, I climbed a tree and moved."

I was momentarily speechless. I had no idea if it was possible to climb a tree and move around when the road was cut off.

It seems like it's not completely impossible, seeing as Ian and Kalit are still there.

"Can you do it again?"

"If necessary."

I can't completely trust Baba, but I'm sure he wants me to survive.

That's why he's telling me the information. If I die, there will be no one left to entertain him.

"Yes. Rahon, please heal Baba with your power."

"Huh? Is he hurt?"

"I smell blood."

Baba blinked his eyes a few times and let out a soft exclamation.

"Oh, is it because of the shoulder wound? It still smells even after I washed it?"

"Yes, get well soon. I hate the smell of blood."

"What a pity... This is a token that the little Duke left behind. He was the first person to hurt me like this, so I planned to keep it forever."

Baba smiled faintly, patting my shoulder as if he was trying to imitate me. It was still a smile that seemed to be imitating someone else.

"I don't make sick people work."

"What are you going to make me do?"

"If you're curious, get healed first. Then I'll tell you."

"Hey, try treating me."

"Have you entrusted yourself with the power?"

Rahon nervously placed a hand on Baba's shoulder.

As a white halo of light seeped into his shoulder, the smell of blood mixed with the scent of soap gradually faded.

"What should I do?"

"Please inform Duke Eldern that the demons will attack Orquidwood at the end of August."

"Is that all I need to do?"

"And please check how many assassins have entered Eldern, where they are, and what they are doing."

"You want me to do it all by myself?"

"You can mobilize your guild members."

Baba stared blankly for a moment before making a pitiful expression. It was just as awkward as his smile.

"Our guild is ruined. You killed everyone, so there aren't many left."

'Instead, the Information Guild remains. It's even bigger than the Assassination Guild.'

The expression disappeared from Baba's face.

"I don't know what you're talking about. It's an information guild."

"How are you, Daphne?"

"..."

This happened in my last life when Baba was being dealt with by Oslo.

A new inmate had been admitted to the cell right next to mine.

Her name is Daphne Malone. She was an employee of a fairly famous information guild in the capital, but she complained every day that the boss was killed and she was trapped there because of the sudden incursion of knights.

At the time, I thought it was just a random story, but it wasn't until later when I heard the truth from Oslo that I realized it.

Baba's Assassination Guild is just a part of the Intelligence Guild.

This was the main reason I wanted to capture Baba. To use his information guild.

"Wow, I can't hide it since I have a guardian as my master. I feel naked now."

"You don't know what that feels like."

"That's right."

Baba's lips quirked.

It was a twisted and cruel-looking smile, but at least it didn't seem like it was imitating someone else's expression.
