7MIP - Chapter 89

When the consul general of Nobilis, Jasha, heard that Agatha was coming down with Enoch, he led a group of soldiers out to meet them.

“I see you, madam.”

Jasha was very happy and welcomed Agatha.

“I heard the news. I can’t tell you how relieved I am that you’re safe.”

He heard.

Of course. The commander-in-chief and Marquis of Aratus suddenly left the battlefield. Some of his vassals had to be informed.

“Jasha has worked hard while I was away.”

“No. The knights of Aratus are doing a really good job.”

Jasha also greeted Enoch.

“I am so happy that you came with our ma’am safely.”

“I just did what was expected. By the way, you brought more soldiers than I thought.”

Enoch looked around at the soldiers that Jasha had brought.

“Is there something going on around here?”

“There is a high possibility that there are enemy forces nearby.”

Jasha explained what had changed while Enoch was away.

“The armies of Marquis Crescent and Baron Elibus have gathered together and are attacking the territory border together.”

“Are you saying the attack has already begun?”

“It’s already the third day.”

Jasha divided his forces, half to guard Count Asulau's territory bordering Nobilis' territory, and half to deal with the combined forces of Marquis Cresent and Baron Elibus who had invaded the other side.

“And I confirmed that Baron Henry Insidio is in the Allied Forces.”

Jasha lowered his voice and spoke only to the leadership.

Although some of the articles did open their eyes wide.

It was somewhat expected.

Where would a criminal who escaped from exile go? He must have come to a place where he could at least hold on to hope.

“It seems like he's decided to stake his fate on this territory.”

Enoch muttered softly. It had started out as a deception, but it seemed as if they had decided to pursue common interests, just as they had promised to the first five families.

I saw that they were planning Operation Bucket, and it was an adaptation of what happened in the capital.

Agatha smiled coldly.

“I think Baron Insidio has informed them that I am away. And that I will not be at the negotiating table.”

That must be why they moved the army so hastily.

It was a moment that explained why the armies of each family, which were difficult to unite, had come together.

Enoch answered indifferently and affirmatively.

“That’s a good thing. We might be able to minimize the fighting.”

Enoch asked Jasha where his temporary commander, Hubert Carwen, was.

“We are facing off against the combined forces of Marquis Crescent and Baron Elibus.”

The Asullou territory was taken care of by half of the remaining Knights of Aratus and the captain of the Nobilis guard.

Jasha was full of praise, saying that he had personally witnessed the knights' battles.

“There were several local battles in three days. If it weren’t for the bravery of the Knights of Aratus, it would have been dangerous.”

It was news that Hubert was doing his job properly. Enoch nodded briefly.

“Then it’s not an urgent situation yet.”

Getin Jennings' army had already been defeated by Hubert and disintegrated, so only Baron Moyes' army remained.

“Are the nearby troops that the Consul General spoke of Baron Moyes’ troops?”

“Yes. Baron Moyes is moving to join the Allied forces. He should be nearby.”

That was the reason why Jasha had taken out 500 soldiers and rushed here.

After hearing the whole situation on the battlefield, Enoch opened his mouth.

“We must strike Baron Moyes before he joins the Allied forces.”

It would have been better in many ways to strike down each of the three clans before they could unite. Jasha added his words with concern at Enoch's decision.

“It is difficult to withdraw any more troops.”

There was still fighting going on at the front lines. If we reduced our troops here, we might end up allowing an invasion.

Enoch had no intention of withdrawing more troops from the front lines.

“The troops we have here are sufficient.”

He calculated that with the 500 knights and soldiers he had, it would be enough to put up a fight.

Jasha turned to Agatha after hearing Enoch's words.

“I trust my husband’s decisions.”

“If you think so too, Madam, I will follow your wishes.”

Scouts were dispatched immediately. Most of the soldiers of the Nobilis family were natives of the territory and had lived in the Nobilis territory their entire lives.

“Go and check exactly where Baron Moyes is.”

“Yes. I will be back, Commander.”

Three or four men in suits, charged with reconnaissance duty, broke away from the group.

Agatha looked back at Enoch.

After the battle was decided, Enoch held a strategy meeting with the knights.

A tent was set up and a map of the South and surrounding terrain was laid out on the table.

Agatha did not go to him and waited quietly for the meeting to end.

After a while, Enoch returned to Agatha.

“Aren’t you tired?”

“The battle is coming soon. I feel more energized when I think that this situation is finally coming to an end.”

If we win this territory battle, the danger around the Nobilis territory will disappear.

Potential threats, including Baron Henry Insidio, will also disappear.

'Just hold on a little longer.'

Now, for him and for Agatha, nothing would be this difficult anymore.

Enoch held Agatha in his arms and patted her lightly.

“The battle will end in one go. Even though it’s scary, please endure for a little longer.”

“I’m fine, Enoch. Even outside of a full-scale battlefield, there aren’t many nobles who have been ambushed as much as I have.”

The man smiled slightly and quietly buried his lips in Agatha's forehead.

“That will be fine.”

The scout who had left the camp soon returned and reported.

“A force carrying the banner of Baron Moyes was passing through the Empire Way.”

“It’s 3 o’clock north, one hour away.”

Baron Moyes was much closer than they thought. Close enough that they might have spotted their allies first.

“Thank you for your hard work. Your contributions are great. When this battle is over, I will give you a great reward.”

“Thank you, Commander!”

After congratulating the scouts, Enoch called for Jasha and the senior knights.

“Prepare the troops.”

“Yes, my lord!”

And then he looked back at Du-un, one of the senior knights.

“Du-un. Stay by my wife’s side. I’ve marked a place to hide, so move there.”

“I will obey your command, my lord.”

“I’ll be back, Agatha.”

The man who held her lightly left the barracks.

Outside, knights and soldiers were lined up, building up their momentum.

Enoch, mounted on a horse, lifted up his hand and cried out.

“Let’s go!”

“All, deploy-!”

The flag was raised high. Enoch was followed by hundreds of knights and five hundred soldiers.

Agatha just stared at his back for a while.

The senior knight approached her cautiously, Du-un urging her on.

“Madam, we need to move to the other side now.”

“Yeah, I understand.”

Agatha also left the barracks and mounted her horse.

Du-un took her to a place that Enoch had instructed in advance, a place where the battle would never be fought.

The small hill was outside the battlefield but had a clear view of the path where the battle would take place.

Agatha sat on a large rock and waited for the armies of both sides to appear at any moment.

Soon the troops of Baron Moyes from the right.

Enoch's army began to appear on the left.

Even though they were far apart, the tension between them was palpable. Agatha held her hands together and held her breath.

Enoch stood before the army, and Baron Moyes stood before his own army. The masters of the armies that stood at the forefront conversed in a conversation that could not be heard on the hill.

They were probably telling each other their names and urging them to surrender.

Of course, no one would accept the offer to surrender.

The clash was bound to ensue.

The leaders of each army were seen entering the army, and the knights and soldiers were seen lining up in formation.

It's starting soon.

Even if no one said anything, it was impossible not to know that a battle was coming.

The beginning was the knights' charge. Agatha saw Enoch standing at the very front of the Knights of Aratus.

The man, completely covered in armor from head to toe, had a lance tucked at his side.

Agatha's heart was beating louder and louder. The moment she thought she would stop breathing if she continued like this, the assault began.

Oh my God, my God.

Having faced countless assassination threats throughout her life, the sight of swords and arrows flying was a familiar sight.

But this was the first time she had seen the Knights and the army clashing like this.

The distance between the knights was closing very quickly. Just before Enoch and his opponent’s lances clashed, Agatha could no longer watch and closed her eyes tightly.

The view grew dark and the shouts of the soldiers in the distance could be heard on the wind.

How much time has passed?

As Agatha still could not open her eyes, Du-un and the knights who were looking down at the battlefield from the side shouted.

“My Lady! The Lord has destroyed the enemy knights. He has broken through!”

Agatha was able to open her eyes when she heard the results.

The Knights of Aratus, including Enoch, were not at all disorganized. They were tearing apart the ranks of enemy knights just as they had been when they first started the battle.

The Knights, moving as one body, were like a fierce storm that no one could stop.

And the person who created that wind was Enoch.
