IDMH - Chapter 70

Chernosser's plan was this:

Adele sends champagne laced with laxatives as an aperitif before dinner.

Then Adele will be in agony, going in and out of the bathroom all night.

It was fun just imagining that. It was a shame that he couldn't see it right away.

However, an unexpected problem arose: it was difficult to persuade the stubborn imperial court.

The palace magistrate, who knew that Chernosser was often involved in accidents, made excuses to avoid giving him diarrhea medicine.

“Are you refusing my orders right now, Prince!? It seems you have ten lives left!”

Chernosser, who was angry at this, even offered him the title of Prince, and the palace doctor had no choice but to give him laxatives.

When the doctor gave Chernosser the medicine, he gave him a few precautions.

“You should never exceed the appropriate amount. If you pass over, something terrible will happen.”

"Yes."

“And you must never play around with this, Your Highness.”

“I said I understood.”

Chernosser returned to his room, making a promise he would not keep.

It was already well past dinner time as the imperial court was holding on in vain.

If an aperitif isn't an option, you can just drink something that helps you sleep!

He can make any excuse, and that role was played by the maid they saw earlier in the Palace of Spring.

Chernosser sent champagne laced with laxatives, thinking that if he failed to do it properly, he would take his anger out on the maid.

First, he made an excuse to apologize so that Adele could receive the champagne.

Leopold Young Lady said that if you want to apologize, you should be more sincere.”

Then, annoyingly, Adele sent the champagne back.

How dare you have the temerity to refuse a gift from the Prince.

He wanted to run over there and say something, but he held back for now because he thought the Empress wouldn't stay still.

Instead, he added more laxatives to the champagne than the doctor had recommended.

He had long since forgotten the precautions that the royal palace doctor had given him while vomiting blood.

“Be sure to tell that to her this time.”

“But Your Highness..."

“If you don’t tell her, I’ll hold you accountable.”

Chernosser even passed the blame on to the servants.

The attendant, who knew his ferocious personality well, had no choice but to write a fake apology letter with tears in his eyes.

The handwriting was perfectly copied as if Chernosser had written it himself.

But Adele had already gone to bed.

If he carried the champagne again, he would really be scolded this time, so he passed it on to the maid and lied to Chernosser, saying that he had handed it to Adele himself.

Chernoser, who completely believed those words, waited to hear news of Adele suffering in and out of the bathroom.

But even after a whole day had passed, no news came.

It was clear that the maid had not done her duty.

Adele alone is irritated, but to think that even a single maid is ignoring him.

Chernosser, who thought he had to show an example, gritted his teeth and went to the Palace of Spring.

“No?”

Adele and Perdes, as well as the maid in question, had already disappeared.

“Where did they go?”

“They returned to the Duchy of Leopold, saying their business was finished.”

"Ha!"

You knew what I was going to do and you backed away.

Chernosser twisted his lips.

“But did that maid go with her too?”

"Yes. The Lady said she liked the way she played with her hair and took her to the estate.”

“I guess my mother wouldn’t have given her permission?”

All maids who entered the palace were under the Empress's control. To take a maid with her, the Empress's permission was needed.

“I understand that Her Majesty the Empress has already given permission.”

"Yes?"

Given the Empress's personality, she would not have just given permission, and she must have received something in return.

Did you give the maid away as a condition for solving the problem at the top of Max?

If that were the case, the Empress's anger would have subsided, so Chernosser headed to the Empress' palace to see his mother for the first time in a long time.

It was almost time to arrive at the Empress's Palace.

“Your Highness the Second Prince.”

The Empress's maid greeted him politely.

“I was already on my way to see His Highness the Second Prince.”

"Me?"

“Yes. Her Majesty the Empress has summoned you.”

As expected, you've calmed down! My prediction was right!

A smile as bright as a full moon appeared on Chernosser's face.

On the other hand, the maid's expression was mysterious, but Chernosser, who was in a mood, did not pay any attention to the maid.

"Let's go!"

Chernosser entered the Empress' palace more courageous than ever.

He was going to meet the Empress and tell her how sad he had been, and how she could treat him so badly just because of a single young lady.

Clang-

As soon as he entered the room, ceramics flew at him, so he couldn't say anything.

Is it just pottery?

Starting with tea cups, even jewelry boxes came flying in.

Chernosser was struck by a bolt from the blue and crouched down, clutching his head.

Thud, thud.

The Empress threw whatever she could get her hands on at Chernosser.

In the end, when she ran out of things to throw, she decided to throw the sofa as well.

“Please stop it, Your Majesty!”

“Your Majesty the Empress!”

The maids who saw that were surprised and tried to dissuade her.

Only then did the Empress seem to have calmed down a bit, putting down the sofa and glaring at Chernosser with cold eyes.

Chernosser, who was finally able to straighten his back, asked in a groaning voice.

“What on earth did I do wrong to make you do this, oh my God?”

“Is that a question now, Prince?”

Sparks flew from the Empress's blue eyes.

“I knew the Prince was crazy, but I didn’t know it was to this extent.”

“What on earth is Your Majesty talking about...!”

"Champagne!"

When the topic of champagne came up, Chernosser flinched and swallowed what he was about to say.

'Could it be that she told everything to Mom?'

The Empress was too angry to think that way.

It didn't seem like she was upset that Adele Leopold had been given a laxative.

So what on earth is it?

The Empress laughed as she saw Chernossor's eyes roll rapidly.

“It is true that the Prince did it.”

“...”

“Why on earth did you send champagne laced with laxatives to the debutante of the Lady of Marquis de Lanchot!”

"Yes?"

What the heck is this?

The Empress's sharp voice pierced the eardrums of Chernosser, who was half-conscious due to embarrassment at the absurd words.

“It is said that Marquis de Lanchot’s daughter drank the champagne the Prince sent her and collapsed, complaining of severe stomach pain.”

The absurd and shocking news did not end there.

“Is that all? The Marchioness and the others who drank with her also fainted!”

If he had just followed the dosage, it would have ended with a mild stomachache, but the problem got worse because he ignored the palace doctor's instructions and did as he pleased.

“When the Marquis of Lanchot found out that the champagne the Prince sent contained a laxative, he became furious and refused to sell any magical tools to the Max Merchant Association!”

Marquis Langchot is one of the most influential wizards in the Wizard's Tower, and if he doesn't sell out, most wizards will follow his lead.

The main business of Max's upper class was magic tools, and the strings were cut on both sides, it was her son who cut those strings, so it was an unbelievable situation for the Empress.

Only then did Chernosser come to his senses and stutter.

“Well, I didn’t send it. That champagne I...”

“Do you think such a ridiculous lie would work?”

Some too many people saw him receive anti-diarrheal medicine from the imperial doctor, mix it with champagne, and hand it over to Adele Leopold.

“Didn’t I ask you to just be quiet, even if you’re not as outstanding as the Crown Prince? Just be quiet!”

“Oh my....”

“Don’t call me your mother! I don’t want to hear it!”

The Empress's voice was torn as if cut with scissors.

“I feel resentful that I was happy to give birth to a Prince!”

Chernosser felt dizzy from the torrent of verbal abuse.

“I don’t want to see you, so get out now! And don’t take a single step out of the Prince’s palace for the time being!”

Chernosser, who was not only kicked out of the Empress's palace before coming to his senses but also imprisoned in the palace, became angry and threw everything he could get his hands on.

“Ahhhh!”

Just like the Empress did.

The court ladies of the Second Prince's palace bowed low and waited for Chernosser to calm down.

But he just couldn't calm down.

"Shit. Do you think I'll just stay like this? Don't leave anything alone. I won’t let you!”

On the contrary, it became more ferocious as time went by, and from the courtiers' perspective, it felt like walking on thin ice that seemed ready to break at any moment.

The court ladies desperately hoped that this hellish time would pass quickly, but their wishes were not granted.

“Chernosser de Vincent Athanasius!”

It was the morning of the fourth day since Chernosser was imprisoned in the Second Prince's palace.

A very indignant Daimon came to see him.

It was extremely rare for Daimon to come to Chernosser in person.

He has only seen the servant who has served Chernosser for over 15 years once.

That one time wasn't good enough, and now that Daimon's expression was so terrifying, the palace maids had a feeling something worse was about to happen.

And their intuition was exactly right.

“Perdes says he can’t sleep for a while because of that crazy thing you did!”

So, is this mean that Perdes drank champagne mixed with more than the appropriate amount of laxative and became temporarily paralyzed?

“Kick, it sucks.”

Puck-

When Chernosser inadvertently spoke the truth, Daimon struck Chernosser hard with the scepter he was holding.

Daimon was not satisfied with just one blow, so he swung Chernosser several times.

He was already anxious because they didn't have a child, but they sprinkled ashes on it.

Daimon's anger reached its peak.

The merciless beating only ended after Chernosser passed out.

Daimon exhaled harshly and gave orders to the courtiers who were watching without being able to breathe properly.

“Give this guy one meal a day, just enough food to keep him from dying, and don’t give him anything!”
