THYU - Chapter 34

"What more explanation is needed here? Of course, you know that Carlson Rowe's name is on it."

"Not really."

"Hayel confirmed. Don't try to insist."

"Really. Let me show you the documents."

Violet struggled to get up and stumbled. Winter grabbed her arm and tried to help her, but she shook him off and opened the safe in the closet.

There were several documents inside, one of which was Long Leewood's land document.

Violet held out a document.

"Here you go. The only thing written is my name."

"Not this. The remaining 4,500 Katashan lands."

"It's royal property, so I don't have the documents."

"Then who..."

Winter, whose voice was raising, thought for a moment and then asked.

"Did you only receive 500 Katashans of land from your brother? From the beginning?"

"Yes."

"All of the 5.000 Katashans were given to you to use for dress or others, either by selling them or receiving rent."

Violet's eyes widened at the words spoken with a distorted expression. Winter immediately asked interrogatively.

"How can he turn your private property into royal property without your permission? It doesn't make sense."

"... Ash enjoys playing polo with high-ranking officials, and the group includes the head of the capital's central bank, which manages the royal family's assets."

"Shit!"

Winter was truly going crazy. The high society his wife described to him, who had crawled up from the bottom, was often so unreal that it felt like a lie. As Winter continued to curse harshly, Violet covered her ears with her hands. She couldn't let her child know that his father was such a foul-mouthed person.

Winter, who covered his mouth with his hand as if covering his mouth at his actions, then let go and continued speaking.

"How can a Princess like you maintain your dignity with just that? Isn't it strange? Shouldn't yiu have asked a long time ago what to do with that much?"

"It wasn't strange. I was grateful that you cared so much, and what strange? Did I have time to ask anyone who thought it?"

Violet looked like she was going to cry while speaking, so she closed her mouth and pressed her hands between her breasts. These days, she gets emotional easily. She finally got her emotions together and continued speaking.

"I have to go to the central bank and check."

"How can you ride a carriage that shakes like that in the early stages of pregnancy? I will come back, so stay home."

"It's not a big deal if I ride the carriage for a while. I need to go and find out what's going on. It's my job."

Violet spoke firmly and headed toward the door, but Winter blocked the door with his body.

"You have to take the train for seven hours, so how can it only be so short? Don't do anything dangerous. I'll check it out right away."

Violet couldn't leave the bedroom because a man as big as the door blocked it. A resigned Violet said.

"Then please make sure."

Seeing her strengthened eyes filled Winter's heart with relief. The things he was afraid of, her eyes that seemed like she had given up, were filled with overflowing vitality from her heart that wanted to protect her child.

Winter wanted his wife to hold fast to her first attachment to life, whether it was an affair or something else. It was clear that for that to happen, he would have to have the child born safely and placed in Violet's arms.

***

It wasn't his money that he gave to Violet anyway, so it wasn't a waste of money for Winter. However, he was just shocked that Violet had been living with one-tenth of what he thought.

As Winter headed to the capital, his mind was a mess.

As soon as the train arrived in the capital, Winter headed to the opera house where Carlson was performing.

Anyway, if the central bank is on Ash's side, he will not give the land back to him, even if Violet comes, making various excuses.

Even if it were any other opponent, Ash, who was in power even after the dissolution of the royal family, could not be confident that he would win the legal dispute.

Winter decided to start with the most easy-going of the people involved.

He entered the singer's waiting room at the opera house with determination. When he kicked in the door, he saw Carlson, who had just finished performing, drinking alcohol without even removing his stage makeup.

"Hey."

When Winter called, Carlson turned to look at him.

"Lord Winter! You are always so rude."

"Long Leewood. What happened?"

"Ah, you know that now."

When he made a sarcastic look on his face that wasn't serious at all, Winter couldn't control his temper and grabbed him by the collar.

"Why on earth are you collecting rent for that land? My wife has no idea."

Perhaps because he was drunk, because it was just the two of them, or because he felt Winter was being too rude, Carlson lowered his tone as if he were speaking to a servant.

"Isn't the more money the better? I took good action and received it."

"What?"

"I wrote it. Not a single penny left."

"Do not be ridiculous. Ash, it must be that bastard's doing."

"I said no. I really did it on my own."

In addition to the smell of alcohol, Carlson had a pungent smell, and he didn't seem overly scared. Winter's voice lowered menacingly.

"Seeing as how you did this even backstage, you must be a crazy drug addict."

"But the performance isn't over. I'm also polite to my fans."

Carlson's body, which had been shaking in response, floated and fell to the floor. However, Carlson was so drunk that he didn't seem to feel the pain.

To interrogate him in earnest, Winter rolled up his sleeves, stood in front of Carlson, looked down, and asked.

"Ash Lawrence encouraged you, right? Say yes. Because he is not worthy of such loyalty."

"I really did it alone. I see. If it weren't for you, I could have married Violet. So she hates you, and you hate Violet. Winter Blooming, you're not interested in your wife at all if she hasn't known him for 3 years anyway. Does it make a difference whether I or she spends your unloved wife's money? It's better to believe that I wrote it and not someone from the Lawrence family."

Winter, who was about to kick again at Carlson's taunt, paused for a moment.

He didn't seem to think that Winter had even suspected an affair between the two of them.

"So what you're saying is"

"It's not like I agreed with my wife."

"Why did Violet do that. Oh, are you really talking about an affair?"

"Yes."

In the meantime, Carlson burst into laughter, probably because it was funny.

"You didn't notice me stealing money for three years, and now you're suspecting me of an affair? You sure you didn't say that to Violet, right?"

"What does that have to do with you?"

"It doesn't matter. If you said that, it makes me feel good."

Carlson continued, still unable to hold back the remaining laughter.

"Violet is a person with incredibly strong self-esteem, as much as she tries not to hurt other people's pride. She was a person who would have committed suicide rather than be sold and married for money, that Princess. But she bowed her pride and allowed it because she felt guilty that his father had put the country in his debt. Marrying a stranger like you."

"I know that."

"What are you talking about? You don't know anything. If you knew Violet, you wouldn't have said that to her."

Carlson continued with a satisfied expression.

"You will never be forgiven by Violet. She's that kind of person. Violet, whom I loved and tried so hard to be loved until you showed up. She will never forgive you for shattering her pride. No matter how much the world ruins that child, the basics of a person do not change."

Carlson seemed tired of sitting and lay down on the floor. He opened his eyes, which had been half-closed due to the pain and drowsiness that came later, and laughed heartily when he saw Winter's complicated expression.

"Oh, you're in real trouble."

The conversation didn't work anyway because he was drunk, but even if Carlson was of a clear mind, Winter couldn't afford to question him further. As Winter hurried out of there, Hayel urgently stopped him.

"Where are you going? Please help me clean up after him."

"I have to go back home."

"No! What if you beat up a popular singer like that and just leave?"

"Anyway, that bastard is so drunk that he doesn't even remember."

"Just give him a few pennies..."

"He has been stealing my money for three years. What kind of money are up giving him? Take care of the situation yourself. I'm going."

Winter hurriedly walked towards the carriage.

"You will never be forgiven by Violet."

I was suddenly swayed by what that crazy man said and he felt like he was going crazy with anxiety.

If there was no infidelity between the wife and Carlson as they said, then how on earth did she have a child?

There was someone he didn't guess, o

As the person he thought was certain was eliminated, another assumption belatedly emerged in his mind.

His wife may have never met another man.

As Hayel said something meaningless, the word "miracle" kept ringing in his head. Hope is unnecessary. Optimistic people fail. That was Winter's stubbornness.

However, no matter how much he endured in front of his wife, his stubbornness eventually gave way.

Even as he sat on the train heading south, Winter was anxious, crossing his arms and tapping his fingers.

Even when he thought about it again, he couldn't figure out how his wife lived with so little money.

He knew that asking why she didn't tell him earlier wouldn't work anymore. So this time he thought to ask how she had lived for the past three years. This time he will listen as much as she wants.

There was so much he wanted to tell her quickly.

She might not understand and would hate it. but today they had to talk about money even more.

Winter actually spent ten times more money than she thought. So, he loved her ten times more than she thought.

That's how he originally calculated affection. This is something Violet needs to know about him.

So she needs to know that. She needs to know. He had to tell his wife that as soon as possible.
