SPMB - Side Story Chapter 14

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

The knights of Addis were brought into the mansion to transport Raphael.

"Marquis Alswein? What's going on all of a sudden?"

"Your Excellency, I have a moment to tell you. This is a very important story."

"I'm busy right now. Make an appointment later...."

"It is truly urgent, Your Excellency."

What on earth is happening? Then Largos spoke.

"After work, Duke. I'll wait here."

Sylvien trusted Largos Addis. No, he believed in Addis. The honor of being a descendant of a Holy Knight, the brilliant history that has continued since ancient times.

"All right. I'll be back for a bit."

So he left for a while.

It was really just a moment.

Really, really, really.

It really was just a moment.

It was only for a moment...

***

“Kanna?”

When he returned, the Valentino mansion was in ruins.

It was a sea of blood and a field of corpses.

Addis, Valentino, every knight, every hired hand, every living thing that was breathing was dead. And Kanna...

"Open your eyes, Kanna."

She was in Raphael's arms.

Just her neck, lumpy.

Sylvien thought blankly.

'Kanna's body is missing.'

Where is it?

Sylvien rolled his eyes and looked around.

And found her. In front of that door. Largo's body. The delicate body of a woman held by the corpse...

'Wait a minute, what?'

Kanna is dead?

What kind of nonsense is that?

Sylvien felt dizzy. His thoughts wander here and there. It was broken into pieces, connected, and then broken. He started laughing, then it cooled down, and then he started shaking like crazy.

Sylvien couldn't believe all of this.

"You're wrong."

At that time, a woman approached.

"As expected. Valentino and Raphael alone cannot protect Kanna."

The woman looked at Kanna's neck and said with a sad face.

But this damned Addis always becomes a black apostle...

"Unless Addis joins, it won't work either."

"You?"

Sylvien pursed his lips.

Everything that was happening now felt like a dream. It didn't feel real. So he stayed calm.

"Me?"

The woman laughed bitterly.

“Kanna’s mom.”

"..."

"Kanna died again. Well, it's natural."

"..."

"Son't worry. You can turn back time."

"..."

"Then this incident will never happen."

Suddenly, the woman bites her hand.

"It becomes something that never happened, something that never happened."

Then she lifted her finger, which was dripping blood. She muttered quietly.

"I'll have to find another way. How to save Kanna......."

When she draws something in the air, blood drops begin to form along the trace.

Sylvien looked at the scene calmly.

And came to a conclusion.

'This is a dream.'

Yes.

Of course.

Could this be reality, could it be real?

It was strange too.

After all, this is a dream.

There was no way Kanna would be killed by Largos Addis, right? Kanna, his younger sister, his Kanna.

This is a dream...

Sylvien burst out laughing.

This damn dream. This damn nightmare, when he opens his eyes, it will be nothing.

Sylvien hopes he wakes up quickly. Hurry...

Hurry....

Hurry!

***

"Huh!"

Sylvien opened his eyes. He bounced up like a spring.

"Huh, oh oh..."

He quickly looked around.

This place.....

Office. Whiskey hanging on the table. An unbuttoned shirt.

Yes. He fell asleep while drinking,  therefore...

"Ha."

Sylvien burst out laughing and covered his face with both hands. His fingertips were trembling convulsively.

Yes, it was a dream.

That can't be possible. Kanna... Kanna...

"..."

After a while, Sylvien slowly lowered his hand.

'What were I thinking just now?'

The face, which had been distorted as if it had been hit by a storm, soon became as calm as a windless sea.

He looked at his palm and though

'What did I dream about?'

It was empty.

Like grains of sand blown away by the wind, nothing remained. Even small fragments of memory.

Sylvien wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

It certainly seems like he had a very terrible, truly terrible nightmare...

He doesn't remember anything, nothing.

“Haha.”

Suddenly, laughter came out. Before going to sleep, Sylvien drank alcohol for the first time in a very long time.

Kanna Addis, his ex-wife, whom he recently divorced, committed suicide.

He was upset about that, so he turned to alcohol.

Was it that shocking that Kanna committed suicide? Yes, it seems like that.

So, he probably still had nightmares that made his heart hurt.

'That's pathetic.'

Sylvien pulled on the disheveled cravat. He thought as he tied it neatly again.

"This is the end of my quest."

Kanna is dead. And Raphael disappeared.

Upon Kanna's death, he disappeared without saying a word.

The woman he was interested in died, and the man he opened his heart to disappeared.

But he is still here.

The life he loved most was still perfect. So that was it.

"Your Excellency the Duke, may I come in?"

The aide's voice is heard. Perhaps there is a backlog of reports. Sylvien straightened his hair and stood up.

"Please come in."

Now it was time to get to work. He was Sylvien Valentino. Valentino's matriarch.

***

Not long after that, Raphael appeared before him. He became a spirit who purged the Great Hall with blood.

"It's been a while. Raphael, how have you been doing?"

Sylvien welcomed him warmly.

"Sorry."

"What?"

"I disappeared without a word."

"Don't apologize. I'm just glad you're safe."

"Is it."

"Huh. I am just as happy as when you returned safely from your expedition to the East Continent."

To some extent, it was sincere.

Afterward, Spirit Raphael consulted and communicated only with Sylvien Valentino.

Everyone said that Duke Valentino was the only one who could control the crazy spirit that tore all the priests to death.

As expected, he thought Raphael would be a golden egg.

In this way, Raphael became the power of Valentino alive.

The Valentino family shone like a full moon, more brilliant than ever.

It was the brilliance that Sylvien wore.

Occasionally he thought of his ex-wife who committed suicide, and sometimes he felt frustrated, but that was it.

Time passed like that again and again.

One day, Sylvien found out that his dead ex-wife was serving as Crown Prince Yalden's mistress.

"This is outrageous."

In this way, he was reunited with Kanna, killed the Emperor, and began a long journey to find the pieces of Kanna's soul that had flowed into the cracks of the world.

It was a very long journey.

***

"What are you thinking?"

Sylvien quietly looked at Kanna sitting across from him.

“Sylvien?”

Kanna, unable to bear that gaze, frowned.

"Why are you looking at me like that earlier?"

"Ah. Excuse me."

Sylvien smiled and raised his teacup. He asked as he fondled the sugar.

"How are you feeling, Kanna?"

"Very good. Thanks to you... But is it okay to eat that much sugar?"

"There's no reason it shouldn't be okay."

"It's amazing every time I see it. You feel like a sugar addict."

"That's right, addict."

After a long journey, Sylvien's taste changed.

It was a journey that was bound to change. He has traveled across countless worlds and met pieces of Kanna, each living a different life under a different name.

They had only one thing in common.

'She was short-lived."

Is it because it is a torn piece of soul?

The lifespan of the soul fragment was extremely short.

After watching each piece die, Sylvien retrieved its soul.

That's why he remembered her countless deaths.

But why...

Does he feel like he's forgotten some kind of death?

"Sylvien, today is strange. Why are you so dazed?"

"Well."

Sylvien muttered, feeling an inexplicable feeling even to himself.

"I clearly saw something a long time ago, but I feel like I forgot...."

"I guess it's not important since you don't remember it."

Sylvien laughed at Kanna's words.

"I guess so."

"It becomes something that never happened, something that never happened."

It happened as she said.

As the moment became a non-existent moment, that dream never came to mind.

Sylvien never remembered that time again. He drifted beneath the dark depths, never to rise again. Forever.

Forever.

  1. The twists and turns even in the side stories is just too much!! Anyway, I can't wait to read the next ones! I hope there will be side stories about Alessandro and Kanna after they got reunited again 😭😭

  2. I see. Remember that in main story soenhee said she went to countless futures to save kanna so the previous 2 chapters must be one of it. I seems if there's more chapters that don't align with the main story, it might be another reality in which kanna always ended up dead
