SPMB - Side Sory Chapter 11

SPMB - Side Sory Chapter 11

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

"Ah. I almost died."

Sylvien took a deep breath.

He barely survived. They arrived at a very small uninhabited island. Raphael was there.

"Thank goodness."

He was taking off his soaked clothes and wringing out the moisture.

"I thought you would survive, Sylvien."

"You too managed to survive."

"I was lucky."

"Is it so."

Sylvien took off his clothes. Then, like Raphael, he wrung out the water and hung it on a tree branch.

"Shall we light a bonfire first?"

"I'll do it."

Raphael said clearly.

"You rest. Your complexion is not good."

"..."

Of course.

Sylvien sat with his back against the tree. Then he watched Raphael breaking off a large tree branch. The tightly packed back muscles wriggle dynamically.

'His body looks like a weapon..."

While looking at the scene, Sylvien slowly closed his eyes.

Fatigue creeps in.

It was not physical fatigue, but mental fatigue.

'No, I'm fine.'

He's almost died more than once so far, but it's only like this...

'Oh yeah. It's like that too.'

Silvien admitted as he was overcome by a huge spell of drowsiness.

'I also hate water.'

He has nightmares just by looking at the water.

Down, sinking down so deep...

Yeah, like right now.

Because he's having this damn nightmare.

***

"Help me!"

He remembers it clearly.

That ice lake.

The tips of his toes were not touching anything. Cold water rushing in with every breath. The pain that pierced his head.

"Help me!"

And she was watching him on the ice.

The woman. His....

"Mother!"

Mother.

Ah, Mother...

"Mother, please save me!"

There's no way she can save him.

If she was planning on saving his life, she wouldn't have pushed him into the lake in the first place.

Every time he tried to rise above the frozen surface, his mother nudged his shoulder with the tip of a long sword and pushed him away.

Suddenly the scene changes.

This time, it was before his mother drowned him in the lake.

"Sylvien, my son My beautiful son."

His mother was always drunk.

"You really take after your father."

And a mother who is always crying.

"Are you going to love another woman like your father?"

A mother who poured out her anger towards her husband on him... Her mind was already dark and sick.

"Are you going to leave your wife and play with another woman in the future? Like your father?"

His father was kind to his mother. But he didn't love her. Moreover, after she gave birth to Sylvien, she did not marry.

"Your father likes Josephine, that wild girl."

It was common in aristocratic societies where arranged marriages were prevalent.

Marry a worthy partner, produce heirs, and fall in love with your mistress.

But unfortunately, his mother loved his father. It was the beginning of misfortune.

"Why? Why? With the daughter of that status family? Why?"

His mother was going a little crazy day by day, filled with anger and jealousy.

"If you disappear, he will find me again, right?"

Finally, she came to a bizarre conclusion.

"If the successor disappears, I have to recreate it, so if you disappear, he will look for me again, right?"

Those ugly eyes. He can't possibly forget it.

"Die. Sylvien. Please die!"

And she put the plan into action by dropping him directly into the lake. It was truly a miracle that he survived then.

Sylvien noticed.

This is a dream. It's a nightmare. And...

Someone is watching this.

***

Sylvien suddenly opened his eyes.

He met purple eyes. It was Raphael.

"..."

He knew it the moment his eyes met this guy.

This guy saw it all.

"You..."

That dream. That memory.

His weakness, his shame, his shame...

There wasn't even a moment to realize. When Sylvien came to his senses, he had just slapped the guy in the face.

"You."

He muttered in a creepy low voice and climbed on top of the guy's body. He slapped his cheek again.

Blood splatters. Raphael's head felt dizzy. Paralyzed reason spoke.

'Kill hi..'

No, this is not the reason.

It's just emotion. It was only anger

'I must kill him.'

He saw it. He looked at it and threw it away.

Raphael coughs out blood. The inside of his mouth was torn.

Without hesitation, Sylvien grabbed his neck. As he squeezed him tightly, Raphael's breathing became panting. His blood rushes and his face turns red.

Yes. Die.

Like this. If he pushes him a little more...

However.

So why don't he resist?

His hands would be free, and he wouldn't even push him away.

The other person's abnormal compliance restored his sense of reason.

"..."

The strength in Sylvien's grip slowly loosened. Sylvien blinked. Every time that happened, the heat that burned like a torch noticeably cooled down.

"So why......."

Sylvien stood up. He held RaphaeI's shoulder and smiled softly.

"Why are you looking into other people's dreams?"

The voice was so gentle that it was hard to believe that it was someone who had been as violent just moments before.

"Oh my, your lip is chapped. Are you okay?"

Raphael coughed a few times, caught his breath, and spoke.

"Can't you see it?"

"..."

"I didn't know. Sorry."

He felt completely drained for a moment.

Can't he see it? Of course. Besides, the guy who almost died by his hands just now, what? Sorry?

"Because you seem to be having nightmares these days."

Raphael mumbled, wiping the blood from his lips.

"If there was anything I could help with, I wanted to help."

"Yes? But looking at other people, or even their dreams, without permission is something only the worst people would do."

"Is it?"

"Yes."

"As expected, I was wrong. I won't do that in the future."

Sylvien narrowed his eyes. Strangely enough, he wasn't angry anymore.

What would he do if he were angry? He's a guy who can't even properly judge what's right and what's wrong.

"I knew you had some special ability, but I didn't know it would be this unpleasant."

"Sorry."

"No, that's enough now."

Sylvien leaned his back against the wooden pillar.

Is it because of fatigue? It all became annoying.

Suddenly, the absurdity of this situation made him laugh. What are two black men doing on a deserted island?

"It's a common occurrence in aristocratic society. So don't pity me. If you pity me, I might actually kill you."

"I get it."

"No, I guess it's unpleasant. Should I just kill you?"

"Sorry. I can't die."

Sylvien giggled and closed his eyes. What he just said was a joke.

There's no way a joke would work on that guy.

'I don't know. Let it happen.'

Raphael might be dangerous in the future, but Sylvien decided to just leave him alone.

No, no.

This was not neglect.

This is...

"I won't tell anyone about this. I promise."

He knows.

Because Raphael is a quiet guy.

However, Sylvien did not bother to answer. He was very awkward with trusting the other person's true nature.

***

So Raphael and Sylvien were stranded on a deserted island.

Is it because he feels sorry for peeking into the past through a dream?

Raphael listened to anything Sylvien asked.

Sylvien gladly enjoyed the sincerity. What's there to complain about when his bad temper has already been revealed?

So he stopped pretending to be good.

"Raphael. Massage my shoulder."

“Yes.”

"Raphael. Aren't you hungry?"

"Wait a little bit. Let's go hunting."

"Raphael, it's cold."

"I'm going to make a bonfire."

He showed off his cruel temper to his heart's content, but later on, he started to get worried.

'This guy, is he being overly generous to the person he once gave his heart to?'

This guy will be in big trouble if he gets caught by a bad person later. Sylvien has to be careful...

After thinking about it, Sylvien smiled faintly.

'What do I need to be careful about? It's way too late.'

Because he's already caught on him.

Poor thing.

***

It was a week later that a rescue ship appeared.

"Duke Valentino! You are here! I'm glad you're safe!"

It was a moment to rejoice. But in that moment, what Sylvien felt was regret.

'I felt comfortable here.'

This remote island gave him freedom.

It was a place without any obligations or responsibilities, a wild land where there was no need to calculate anything.

It was a raw time devoted solely to survival. During that moment, Sylvien forgot the name Valentino for the first time.

He will probably never experience a moment like this again in his life.

"Thank you for finding me so quickly."

However, Sylvien got on the boat without hesitation.

"Let's go straight to Cretia Island."

Reality was waiting for him. And he loved his reality.

***

"Thank you for taking care of me all this time."

Raphael said goodbye when he finished his business on the island of Crethia.

"Let's separate from this island."

Sylvien couldn't understand those words right away. Because it was such a strange thing to say.

"Thanks to your teachings, I think I can live well."

Raphael continued speaking while peeling the banana that was served for dessert.

"I made up my mind while reading the East Continent book you gave me. So, I gathered information about the Eastern Continent here."

This is by no means an impromptu answer. This was the answer he came up with after thinking and planning on his own.

"If we pioneer new sea routes and conclude exclusive trade agreements, we will be able to accumulate considerable wealth. I will do that."

Haa...

Sylvien eventually couldn't bear it anymore and ended up laughing.

'I was foolish.'

He looked down on Raphael. He dared to do so.

The opponent is the heir of the spirit who stormed out of the Great Temple, the golden tower of wealth, fame, and power.

"Raphael. I'm not even sure if it exists or not."

"It exists. I can see."

"You can see it?"

"Yes. I can go there, Sylvien."

"Is that one of your abilities too?"

"Yes."

Sylvien clasped his hands and placed them on the table. And he was worried.

The reason he's gathering information related to the Eastern Continent is because he has the same thoughts as Raphael. Because he wants to be the first pioneer. He could really build a huge amount of wealth.

But if Raphael can go there with his unique ability to 'see'...

"I will support you."

The calculation was fast.

"It's going to be a long voyage, so we need to prepare, right?"

"..."

"I will support everything, starting with the ship, crew, and even food and resources."

"Why are you helping me so much?"

Well, if Raphael succeeds, he plans to demand a portion of the profits based on his investment..

"I told you. You should help your peers and live together."

"Is it? After all, you are a good guy."

Raphael believed again this time.

"Friends are good things."

Instead of answering, Sylvien just raised the corners of his mouth and smiled.

'Does this guy really think of me as a friend?'

Friends, that's not even funny. But he thought it was better to believe it, so he left it alone.

"Yes. Friends help each other, Raphael."

But since when did he start talking to Raphael?

***

They parted ways on the island.

"Then take care, Sylvien."

"You too, stay healthy."

Raphael shook hands with Sylvien. Then he got on the boat.

As he watched the ship moving away, he felt strange.

Raphael left.

They probably won't see each other for a few years.

No, they may never meet again. Exploring the New World is a very dangerous journey.

Thinking like that, a slight feeling of regret arose. It was so absurd that Sylvien laughed.

'It's a shame. It doesn't make sense.'

It looks like he was too absorbed in playing with his friends.

After all, isn't that guy a golden egg? It would be a waste to lose him like this, so Sylvien can only hope for his safe return.

Sylvien lowered his eyelids. The harsh sea breeze blew through his silver hair.

Sylvien looked for God in that huge breath for the first time in his life.

After all, he's a human being with no way to save himself, so nd have never asked for His mercy and do not wish for it, but still.

Still, isn't Raphael the closest person to him?

'So, please watch over Raphael so that he can return safely.'

It's not like they're friends, though.

Still, this much prayer...
