ICTV - Chapter 113
I changed The Villain
"I need to walk a bit."
I changed my clothes and started walking around the temple. Perhaps because it was early in the morning, the temple was very quiet. But then I noticed a little girl walking on the other side of the hallway. My eyes brightened.
"Iris!"
Iris' shoulders trembled. Iris, wearing a black dress, looked at me with a pale face as if she had met someone she couldn't meet.
U kept a certain distance from Iris and spoke comfortably.
"Hello, you woke up early."
"... Hello."
Iris lowered her head and refused to make eye contact with me. I asked.
"Don't you want to talk to me?"
"...No. absolutely nothing like that."
Iris mumbled.
"It's just that I don't know how to treat the young lady."
"I guess so. Then, please make room...."
"No!"
Iris shouted reflexively. Iris spoke desperately. You don't have to do that. Do not go."
"What's going on?"
Tears dripped down Iris' cheeks..
"To be honest, I was so scared because I was alone."
"..."
"Please stay there for a moment, okay?"
I approached Iris. Iris twitched her shoulder once more, but that was all. I got down on my knees and hugged Iris tightly.
Iris was held tightly in my warm arms. After about 10 minutes, Iris wiped away her tears with the back of her hand and said,
"It's okay now, you can let go now."
"... Yes?"
Rose immediately let go of Iris.
"Where were you going this morning?"
Iris hesitated and then confessed honestly.
"I was on my way to see Edgar."
"..."
I suggested, looking down at Iris.
"Shall I go with you?"
"Yes?"
Iris' eyes widened.
"Thank you, but do you mind?"
"Yeah, it's okay."
Anyway, I want to see him with my own eyes at least once. Is that person really dead?
I held out my hand to Iris. Iris held my hand tightly and started walking. The deeper we went into the temple, the closer Iris clung to me. I could see how lonely and scared Iris had been during this time.
I stroked Iris' head to reassure her.
"This is the place."
Iris pointed to a door encrusted with a large rainbow-colored gemstone symbolizing Harmonia. I put pressure on my palm and pushed the door. Iris called Edgar in a low voice.
"Mr. Edgar."
But there was no answer. It was natural, but tears formed in Iris's eyes, perhaps because she was sad.
I and Iris approached the coffin in the middle of the hall. Edgar was lying with his eyes closed in a pure white coffin decorated with flowers. The peaceful look made me chuckle.
"... Everyone is shocked and upset right now because of you."
I can't believe you're the only one with such a relaxed face. I clenched my fists.
"Isn't this really too much?"
I realized. I realized that Edgar, who had thought and worried about others so much during his lifetime, did not think about others at all when he died. In some ways, it was surprising. Even though Violet begged him to live selfishly, the person who couldn't do so did something like this.
Iris and I talked as they left the hall again.
"Thank you for coming with me. It must have been a really difficult decision."
"It wasn't that hard of a decision. You've done nothing wrong, so don't look at me."
"Yes, I will. I'll just go now. It's time for the morning service to start soon."
"Yes, do that."
Iris rushed over. I was about to close the door but then approached Edgar again.
"I said it before. I wanted to die too."
Without even thinking about what will happen after I die. Even now that I think about it, I was selfish and exhausted at that time. When people are tired, they have no choice but to become selfish. Yes, that is truly unavoidable.
But at least I shouldn't have done that. I still feel dizzy when I think about how I almost died. I whispered to Edgar.
"You are so selfish and too much of a person."
With those words, I closed the door. So Edgar was left alone in a dark space. Feeling relieved now, I took a deep breath and went upstairs.
"Now I have to go back to my room."
I think Belial woke up too. It was as I was walking down the hallway to go back to my room. A welcome voice was heard from the garden.
"Miss, look who just arrived!"
"Lady Pale, a welcome guest has arrived!"
I turned my head. Damian and Mera exclaimed with wide smiles.
The moment I tried to wave my hand, a brilliant silver hair blew in the wind. Belial, who had just woken up and finished grooming himself, was sitting at the table drinking tea.
The moment I saw Belial, the corners of my mouth automatically went up. I exclaimed.
"I am coming!"
I smiled so brightly that I couldn't see my eyes and walked out into the dazzling sunlight.
"Belle!"
I spread my arms and shouted.
"...Can't you see me!?"
Beryl, who was holding Belle in his arms, got angry. I immediately held Belle in my arms.
"Please welcome your only brother like that too."
Beryl said while grumbling.
"I brought some snacks for Belle here."
"Thank you, brother."
Beryl and Belial, who were handing a bag of snacks to me, met their eyes. Beryl bowed his head.
"Thank you for your hard work protecting Rose."
"No, brother."
"..."
Beryl looked at Belial in silence and then lowered his head again.
"Thank you for saving my sister."
"It's natural, older brother."
" Is it so. As a fiancé, it's only natural."
Beryl said, barely able to keep his hands and feet from shrinking.
"I hope someday I will get used to being called that damn older brother."
I asked while patting Beryl's arm.
"Brother, what about my friend and your friend?"
"Excuse me."
Beryl pointed behind him. Arshan was walking with Violet. I immediately looked at Violet's face. Violet's face was a little gaunt, but not as much as I had worried.
"I told you to go a little slower! No matter how much you miss your little friend, why are you running around like that?"
"Noisy. Hurry up and give me a gift for my friend."
"Yes, yes."
Arshan held out the basket he was holding.
"It's a snack basket. I added fruit cheese, and other things. You know that you have to eat well when things are hard, right?"
"Thank you."
"I wanted to bring other things, but I didn't have time. Next time I come, I'll bring a better gift. And this one..."
Arshan trailed off. Belial and Arshan exchanged an unknown look. Arshan held out his hand in a friendly manner.
"Haha, this is our first meeting, right? You're really handsome, just like I heard."
"Yes, nice to meet you."
"I heard a lot about you from my friend."
"Oh my, it looks like you praised me again. My brother loves me so much."
"..."
Beryl's body trembled. This means that he is truly a limit now. I pushed Beryl's back.
"Brother. I'm going and playing with my friends. I'm going to talk to my friend."
"Don't talk too long. There are a lot of things I want to ask too."
"I think it will take a while."
"What?"
Arshan narrowed his eyes at me and put his arm around Beryl's shoulder.
"Oh, buddy. Don't be too impatient. Let's wait leisurely with me."
"How can I relax when something like that has happened?"
"Then I'll distract you. Today's clothes really don't suit you."
"My mother chose this for me."
"No, the clothes are so cool and classy that they don't suit you. Why don't you try changing your hairstyle?"
"My mother also chose my hairstyle."
"I didn't plan on doing this. Just hit me."
"Oh, I will do as you wish."
Beryl walked away from the group, putting Arshan in a headlock. Belial whispered to me.
"Your brother has made a great friend."
"Yes?"
"This man, Arshan, is a member of the royal family of Ravian."
"... Royalty?"
"I've seen the portrait."
"Why does that person bother to hide it? Is there some political reason?"
"No. He just wants to surprise your brother by telling you at a critical moment. He is widely known among close people that he has a playful personality."
"He really is the perfect match for my brother."
Belial kissed my cheek and then stood up.
"I'll just get up now. There was still something left to talk about with the minister. I hope you have a good time with your friends."
"Thank you, Belial."
With Belial gone, now only I and Violet are left. I looked at Violet and then stood up. And I hugged Violet with both arms.
Violet's eyes turned red.
"I worried a lot. Is it okay for me to appear in front of you?"
"What do you mean by that?"
"I always seem to be a bad influence on my friends."
"You just let him know what he really wanted. Just like you did to me."
"This is really my fault."
"It's not your fault."
"I have to be careful with every word you say in front of someone who is having a hard time. As I said last time, it's like I handed you the hilt of a sword."
"Just because it's given to you doesn't mean everyone will wield it. I'll put the knife down because it's too much trouble to hold it, and you'll put it down because you say this isn't right. But Edgar wasn't like that."
He tried to kill others for his own desires. Even if it wasn't for Violet, something like this would have happened at some point.
I hugged Violet tighter. Violet asked after burying her face in my arms for a while.
"How are you doing for the time being?"
