SPMB - Chapter 229

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

Why is he asking her that?

Kanna frowned. But soon she thought rationally.

Even though Lilienne was not a Black Apostle, she was the perfect person to be used by them.

'It actually was like that. They even gave him strange medicine.'

Thanks to that, they almost ruined the job.

"It would be better that way. It could be related to that woman, the Black Apostle."

Then Kanna twisted her wrist and escaped his grasp.

"I forgot to tell you, but the spirit is planning to visit soon."

Orsini's face crumpled slowly but surely.

"Divine spirit? That sneaky guy who was following you around?"

"You're being sneaky, be careful what you say."

"Did I say something wrong? Why is that bastard...."

"He is a precious person to me."

Orsini's lips stiffened. At once, his eyes twitched slightly. Kanna turned away from him and stood up.

"I know that because I'm going to stay for a few days."

After saying those words, Kanna left the room.

This morning, Raphael sent a messenger.

< I have something to tell you about the curse that Alessandro Addis received. If you allow me, I will visit you soon. >

Kanna found out how to break the evil spirit's curse.

However, there was no trace of the curse of sleeplessness or the curse of eternal life. Maybe Raphael had found the clue.

'First of all, I want to lift the curse of seeing evil spirits.'

Kanna suddenly felt anxious.

'Sir Claude, come back quickly.'

***

"Sorry. Alessandro refused."

Kanna couldn't believe her ears. She couldn't believe it, but Alessandro refused even this!

Kanna stared at Claude.

"Sir Claude."

"Yes?"

"You know how I feel, right?"

"No, I don't know... Miss?"

Chi-ik!

Kanna sprayed a hypnotic scent on his face.

After a while, she looked at Claude who had lost focus, and gave an order.

"Tell me where he is."

***

Kanna, who extorted the address from Claude, immediately got into the carriage.

"...Here?"

A small coastal town. Alessandro's house was located in a place with a panoramic view of the emerald sea.

'You've been living in a place like this?'

Of course, by commoner standards, it was okay to live alone. But Alessandro Addis, the owner of the largest mansion in the capital, lived in a place like this.

He even planted sunflowers beautifully in the small garden...

'Didn't Claude give me the wrong information?'

While Kanna was in doubt, the door to the house burst open.

"Then I'll just go."

A young woman came out.

Kanna looked blankly at the woman who came out of the house and then noticed the man standing behind her.

It was Alessandro.

The moment their eyes met, Alessandro's face hardened.

Kanna smiled coldly and approached.

"Long time no see."

"Why are you here?"

Instead of answering, Kanna lowered her gaze and glanced at the woman.

"Who are you?"

"Yes? Oh, I-I......"

The woman muttered, looking at Alessandro and Kanna alternately. Kanna was really annoyed by that stupid attitude.

"Can't you hear me now? I asked who you were."

“Kanna.”

At that time, Alessandro softly called her name. Kanna glared at him with heated eyes.

"..."

A strict gaze.

When she met those eyes, strangely enough, all her fighting spirit dissipated.

Alessandro sighed, grabbed her arm, and pulled her into the house. And he said to the woman.

"Go and see."

Why is it polite?

Who on earth is that woman?

The other person seemed to have the same doubts.

"Well, but who is that....?"

"This is my daughter."

Alessandro closed the door, leaving the startled woman behind.

Silence descended.

Kanna looked down at his hand holding her wrist. It was rougher, harder than the last time he touched her.

But it was only for a moment.  Alessandro let her go and then stepped behind her.

"Come inside."

It was unexpected. She thought he would give her a warm welcome at the door, let alone let me inside the house. He led Kanna into the living room.

"Why did you come here?"

"I want to see you."

"I should have warned you earlier. Speak clearly."

"Why? What's wrong?"

"You are my......"

"What about your daughter?"

Kanna snorted, cutting him off.

"Did you see that woman's expression earlier? When you introduced me as your daughter, I looked like a psychopath."

Kanna sarcastically leaned back on the sofa.

"She will think it was a joke. I'm daughter, I look like that, there's no way you would have a daughter like me. She might think if I'm your lover."

Kanna, who was glaring at his face, noticed it too late.

'Have you gotten younger?'

The face had clearly aged by a few years, but it was back to how it used to be. To a time when he was stuck at the same time his entire life.

"Or were you dating someone under the guise of being a divorced man with a child? Then you deserve to be criticized."

"It's not like that."

Alessandro rubbed his temples as if his head was pounding.

"That woman is my cooking teacher."

What?

"She runs the only cooking school in this town."

"..."

"I'm uncomfortable interacting with people, so I'm learning Individually."

At that moment, all things to say disappeared.

Alessandro is learning how to cook? Is he getting tutoring because he's embarrassed to go to a private academy?

"Why are you learning to cook?"

Then he spoke confidently.

"Because I can't."

"..."

Well, if he's good at it, he won't need to learn it. He's learning because he can't do it....

'No, I can't be fooled.'

Kanna held on tightly for a moment, almost losing her mind.

"I can't believe it. Why bother learning how to cook when you can just hire a chef?"

"It doesn't matter whether you believe it or not."

However, Alessandro cut off her curiosity with a single cut.

"Even if I meet that woman in private, there is no reason for you to get involved."

Kanna felt like she had been slapped in the face by those words.

It's no big deal. It really wasn't a big deal, but it felt like all the thorns had been broken off.

Like an idiot in the world, she couldn't say anything and just grabbed both hands.

"I came to lift the curse."

It was only after a while that Kanna finally managed to speak.

"You said you see evil spirits. I discovered the magic trick that breaks the curse. So...."

"Not need. The curse is gone."

The curse is gone?

When? How?

'No, that can't be happening.'

Kanna can not believe it. Alessandro is obviously lying.

To push her away.

'Why?'

Kanna bit her lip.

'Why are you pushing me away?'

Anxiety and similar emotions swirled around me.

Alessandro's sandy eyes, his dry voice, all of them were pushing her away, out of his life.

"I don't believe it."

At those words, Alessandro tilted his head as if puzzled.

“Kanna.”

"Yes."

"Are your beliefs important to me?"

Kanna was completely speechless. Her tongue seemed to have been cut out. She was that shocked.

"The curse has been lifted. So you don't have to feel guilty or indebted to me anymore."

"Alex."

For a moment, a look of displeasure appeared on Alessandro's face. He said slowly.

"I would have warned you not to call me that."

The air suddenly became sharp. Is that why? Kanna's whole skin was throbbing and painful.

"The conversation is over. I have nothing more to say to you."

Alessandro got up from the sofa.

"Don't come looking for me now. I would be grateful if you could just forget about me and live your life."

"..."

“Go back, Kanna.”

Alessandro finished.

The end of decades of painful waiting.

"Go and live your life."

Heat gathered in Kanna's eyes.

How can it end like this?

These were too precious memories to be cut out carelessly. It was still vivid. It was so close that she could almost touch it.

Those moments. The remaining time is so clear that the burning heat is still there.

It's natural. Because it was a while ago for her

But not for Alessandro. It was a distant past for him. It happened decades ago.

Moreover, there was no promise or object in his waiting. It was a time of longing for an illusion that could never be reached like the shadow of the moon reflected on black water.

"I'm tired. Stop."

But if he doesn't want to, isn't it right to get out of here?

He really didn't seem to want anything more. He just felt sick of everything.

So shouldn't she disappear for him?

Alessandro would have suffered because of her all his life...

The tip of her nose felt sore. Kanna swallowed down her fiery emotions with difficulty.

But...

'Is this really true?'

If he doesn't have enough regrets to cut it off with a single knife, why has he endured such pain and kept his promise?

"Has the curse really been broken?"

"Yes."

"Is it so...."

Kanna stood up. She then passed Alessandro.

'Bedroom, where is the bedroom?"

She knew it was rude, but Kanna walked into the bedroom without hesitation.

"Kanna."

She ignored the footsteps following her.

Bed. And the nightstand next to it. Kanna approached with long strides.

“Kanna, stop.”

She opened the drawer. And saw dozens of vials.

Kanna suddenly let out a shaky breath. She lowered her gaze to the trash can under the bed. There were several empty medicine bottles piled up.

Sighs and laughter flowed out.

"Despite this, the curse has been lifted?"

Kanna turned around. Alessandro was standing outside the bedroom. However, as if a strong line had been drawn, she was not allowed in.

Kanna sneered as she lifted the vial.

"You're hoarding so much, but you're lying and saying the curse has been lifted?"

She approached.

As she got closer, step by step, she saw Alessandro's eyes hardening.

"Why are you afraid of me and avoiding me?"

"There is no such thing."

"Lie."

"Get out."

"No, I do not want to."

"Do you want to be forcibly dragged out by my hand?"

The low voice is threatening. But it wasn't scary anymore. It just hurt.

"Don't you remember?"

Kanna laughed. Raised her arms.

It was the wrist he had grabbed.

"You were the one who dragged me here."
