 TAPGB - Chapter 99

The Abandoned Prince's Ghost Bride

"Your Majesty, where are you going!"

A little while ago, Lucian suddenly announced that he would be leaving the party, leaving the party in disarray.

Harry couldn't control the commotion and had to follow him out.

"My work for today is done. I don't know why I have to please others on my birthday."

"But still. If yiu leave it like that, what will everyone think? Aren't there already rumors going around about Your Majesty these days?"

"Actually, they are the ones who can't even keep their mouths shut in front of me, so I don't have to worry about them."

"Your Majesty!"

Lucian turned to see Harry's voice rising.

"Harry, I'm not in the mood for pranks."

Lucian's eyes sank. When Harry saw that, he realized that he wasn't just complaining.

"I haven't seen Leah's face even once in three days. I've never even heard from the person I wanted to say happy birthday to, but if I've endured it until now, isn't that amazing of me?"

No, correct me. That's just complaining.

Since Lucian hadn't seen the woman he loved for three days, he was experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

"Besides, the Princess kept scratching my insides. Please let me get some rest for the last two hours of my birthday."

Ugh, do whatever you want!

"Don't bother me until tomorrow. Because we're going on strike."

Is that something that would come out of the Emperor's mouth?

However, Lucian never showed any signs of being bothered or annoyed during the three days, so Harry thought he should at least accept this level of complaining.

Then Harry suddenly remembered what James was preparing for tonight.

Now is the time...

In a way, it would have been finished by this time.

Harry was already planning to take Lucian out separately. Should he feel good about how things have turned out this way?

To give the perfect surprise, Harry decided to take some time.

"Are you going to go see Leah right away?"

"Huh. I need to see her face right now."

"Wouldn't it be better to change your clothes and go?"

"Why? I look cool now."

Lucian was dressed up nicely in a ball gown for the ball. It was true, so Harry couldn't refute it.

"I've dressed up a lot of times so far, but I haven't been able to show it to Leah, so I have to show my cool side just this once."

"What are you going to do by showing me?"

"I have to entice you. Leah doesn't push me away these days. Since it's already like this, should I at least bring a bouquet of flowers?"

Seeing Lucian saying this, Harry automatically narrowed his eyes. His friend's salting was so difficult to watch with both eyes open.

"I heard from James that Leah is in the imperial palace garden."

"Yes?"

"Yes. He said Leah was too busy to spend time in the garden with Caesar."

"I'm sure that they've been busy these days, so I haven't been able to pay attention to either of them."

Now that they're done being busy, shall they at least spend some time together?

Seeing Lucian muttering, Harry suddenly had a question.

Not only other men, but even himself and Dio, who were close friends, hated being around Leah, but Caesar actually allowed her to be by her side.

"I'm not particularly jealous of Caesar."

"Is it?"

"Honestly, there is no one closer to Leah than Caesar."

"Hmm..."

Lucian thought about something for a moment and then laughed.

"I know what you're trying to say, but that's not how the two are."

"How can you be sure?"

"Well, if something was going to happen, it would have happened a long time ago. And while I've only known them for 15 years, they've known them for over 250 years. How can I be jealous when I'm caught in the middle?"

Above all, Lucian knows better than anyone else that Caesar does not view Leah as the opposite sex.

He remembers when he was a child who didn't know anything about things. Lucian felt anxious and tried to think about it, but it came back as a subject of teasing.

'/"Khahaha! Woman? Hey! I'm a dragon. Would you view humans as rational? Leah is just a friend, a friend! And I tend to be a bit cute when people are close to me."

This is not an empty remark. Caesar tended to tease and tease Lucian as much as he did with Leah.

Actions that may have been misunderstood by others were simply Caesar's expressions of affection.

"And Caesar is like another older brother to me. He rather knows my heart and tries to push it, so is there a need to be on guard?"

Lucian's trust in Caesar was so strong that no one else could shake it.

On the contrary, seeing the friendship between the two made Harry feel a little sad and jealous.

"Still, there are very occasional times when I get annoyed... I can't show my ugly side in front of Leah."

It was Lucian who was making a fuss about whether he seemed to be too attached to Leah these days.

"Huh? What is that?"

As soon as Lucian arrived at the imperial palace garden, he noticed that the garden was different from usual.

As Lucian narrowed his eyes and craned his head, Harry checked the signal the knight guarding the imperial palace was sending him.

"It looks like Leah and Caesar are together. There will be fireworks soon."

"Oh, that's right. It just so happened."

Lucian was about to run away while wagging his tail for a while, then he played with his hair and checked to see if his clothes were out of order.

A man in love doesn't miss a single detail.

After checking his condition, Lucian put on the smile that Leah liked and headed towards where they were.

"Leah! Cae...sar?"

The corners of his mouth, which had been smiling widely, gradually lowered. Soon Lucian dropped his raised hand and stared blankly in front of him.

His golden eyes began to tremble slightly.

"B-already?"

Leah's urgent voice was heard.

Soon, a beautiful woman wearing a white dress mixed with gold thread with a bell design turned around.

The design left her back clearly visible, and her black hair was twisted upward, revealing the pure white nape of her neck.

Just by looking at Leah's back, Lucian felt as if his world had stopped. But the moment he saw Leah's face, his world turned upside down.

"Lucian."

Leah smiled with a slightly awkward expression.

She looked more lively with light-colored makeup on her beautiful drawing paper-like face, and the faint glitter powder sprinkled around her eyes made her amethyst eyes stand out.

The moment Lucian saw the lips shining like candy, he covered his mouth.

He barely managed to stop the momentary hiccup from coming out.

"Lee, Leah. What does that look like..."

"... James and Harry helped. I heard you said you wanted to see  me wearing makeup?"

"That.."

As Lucian looked around at those nearby with shaking eyes, Dio raised his thumb with a sinister expression.

It was just something Lucian said in passing, but he had no idea that what he said would come true.

While Lucian could not take his eyes off Leah, Leah did not know what to do with the current awkward atmosphere.

She asked those around her for help but only received happy looks. At least Caesar twirled his finger to ward the floor with a meaningful look in his eyes.

Seeing that, Leah bit her lip and despite her embarrassment, gently grabbed the hem of her skirt.

"Do you like it?"

As Leah spun around while holding the hem of her dress, Lucian saw an illusion of light particles popping out around her.

"So beautiful..."

It was clear at a glance that he was just spitting out thoughts that immediately came to mind, without any exaggeration.

Lucian was so immersed in Leah that he had no time to think about anything else.

That fact was clearly visible in Leah's eyes.

Leqh's heart began to pound little by little at the unaffected affection. And then she glanced at Lucian.

Well, he is definitely cool.

I don't know if it was because I had seen him for the first time in three days, or because he was dressed up more than usual, but Lucian standing like a painting, looked cool again.

As the pink atmosphere flowed, the surrounding clowns soared into the sky. I, conscious of the gaze of those around me, cleared my throat.

"Hmm. Actually, everyone helped with this. This is what I prepared."

I entered the gazebo holding L ucian's hand. There were snacks and cakes that Lucian wanted to eat so badly.

Although It was not as complete as the one made by the Imperial Palace pastry chef, seeing the cake lettering written neatly made him smile.

Happy Birthday Lucian

"Obviously my first cake had crooked writing."

"I practiced secretly. It was such a mess."

"But, I still vividly remember the taste of the cake back then. It was the first birthday cake I've ever received in my life."

Now that his taste buds have changed, he's sure it's sweeter, but at the time, it was the most delicious thing in the world.

"I don't think you did this?"

"Ahem! It is the work of this body!"

As Lucian tilted his head at some desserts that were strangely lacking in perfection, Caesar appeared proudly.

"Not only that, my hands went into everything here! Do you remember this? I do this for you every birthday."

When Caesar touched the light particles floating in the air, Lucian opened his mouth for a moment.

"Wait a minute, this...."

"I made it."

Lucian's face slowly turned red at Caesar's answer. Lucian said as he tilted his head at the completely unexpected reaction.

"I am... "

Leah was so pretty that he thought he was seeing a vision of her.

Three seconds after Lucian confessed conscience, everyone here burst into laughter.

In particular, Caesar and Dio broke down and wiped away tears.

"Ahahahaha! The bean pods should be just as good."

"Lucian, does he say things like that? Hahaha!"

Harry and James had eyes to see, so they couldn't smile openly but turned their heads and their mouths trembled.

"Hey, what is he saying in front of people!"

Why is the shame my responsibility?

I felt the heat rising to my face and fanned her hands.

"Now, instead of standing here like this, you should blow out the candles."

Lucian's face was still red, but he smiled as if he couldn't help it and blew out the candle.

"Wish! Did you make a wish?"

Lucian nodded to Dio's question.

"What did you wish for?"

Lucian said with a meaningful expression, saying it was a secret. Soon the cake was cut and everyone shared a piece.

Everyone was praising it for being delicious, but I was actually embarrassed.

"You would have eaten a lot more delicious food than this. Isn't mine too shabby?"

"What are you talking about, Leah? How delicious this is!"

"Don't even talk. Do you know how much His Majesty sang about wanting to eat Leqh's cooking?"

"It just tastes good. What's important is sincerity."

Even though Dio, Harry, and James were strong, I still did not get discouraged.

At that time. Lucian held my hand.

"Leah, this is the taste of my memories. And although I have tasted many foods so far, yours is the only one that suits my taste."

"Yes?"

I don't know how he speaks so beautifully.

"For a moment! A man and a woman are dressed up nicely, but are you going to throw a hat at me?"

Suddenly, Caesar burst in and looked at Lucian and Leah alternately. While everyone was confused, Caesar snapped his fingers.

Then, a circular stage appeared next to the gazebo. Then, instruments I don't know where they came from started floating in the air and playing accompaniment. Lucian realized Caesar's intentions.

He cleared his throat as he looked at me, who was looking blankly at the garden.

“Keuhum!”

I looked back at Lucian.

"Leah, will you please give me the honor of dancing with you?"

When Lucian offered his hand in the ingrained imperial etiquette, I didn't know what to do.

"I don't know how to dance."

"It's okay. You just have to follow where I lead."

"But..."

"Why are you procrastinating like that?"

Caesar, who was worse off, pushed my back and made me hold Lucian's hand.

Lucian grinned and led me to the stage prepared by Caesar.
