EIITAB - Chapter 72 < Why Do I Have To Endure It All? >

Even if it is Trampled and Broken

The tears that were welling up in her blue eyes were unable to withstand the weight and eventually rolled down her cheeks.

"Ha."

Aslan frowned at her. Then, in front of her, she let go of Hestia's shoulder and took a few steps, as if it was difficult to watch Dulcinea's tears.

At that moment Hestia shrugged her shoulders. Of course, it might have been her mood, but as Aslan walked away from her, she felt like she was overcome by a terrible chill.

"Lady Dulcinea, stop now."

Her inferior, Lady Philippa, stopped her, calling Dulcinea's name in a low voice.

"Aslan, you are the master and Duke of the vast Kalati. Please show appropriate courtesy."

Her voice seemed soothing, but she was scolding Dulcinea for repeatedly crossing the line. Dulcinea's anger, which could not reach Aslan, was directed towards Lady Philippa.

"Lady Philippa! That's not important now! And since when did Aslan and I become polite! I mean, we're not in that kind of relationship!"

Even though Dulcinea was angry, she was constantly conscious of Hestia. So she put it between the lines as if to show off that she and Aslan had a very special relationship.

"You know it too! How much I and Aslan rely on each other!"

Hestia's eyes naturally turned to Aslan. She didn't even know why. She just wanted to see. What would the man's expression look like after hearing Dulcinea's words? What will be the reaction?

Purple eyes fell on Aslan's back. He walked away, but then he turned back towards Hestia and Dulcinea, probably thinking he had gained a reasonable distance.

And Hestia sighed. He seemed fine, to the point where she felt like all her nervousness and anxiety were in vain. There was no discomfort to be found at all.

Hestia quietly let out a laugh without realizing it.

What. Is she even hoping for him to deny it? Or was she hoping he to at least yell at her to stop saying unnecessary things?

She was foolish and kept mocking herself. Hestia felt like burying her face in her hands. Meanwhile, the war of words between Dulcinea and Lady Philippa continued.

"Why should I speak up when you two say that in private? But aren't there just the two of you here right now?"

Madame Philippa was very noble and gentle, and without getting excited, she once again reminded Dulcinea that Hestia was in this space.

Dulcinea's lips closed as if she couldn't find anything more to say.

However, she continued to huff and puff because of the person who could not be completely eliminated. The gaze glaring at Hestia became quite angry.

"Why do I have to put up with it?"

She seemed to be getting angry again, and her voice seemed to be getting louder.

"Why on earth do I have to listen to things like this? What on earth is that woman?"

Lady Philippa reflexively glanced at Aslan. She could see the golden eyes suddenly sinking into darkness and darkness. Madame Philippa, who noticed this fact before anyone else, became anxious.

'If I leave it like this, it's going to be a real disaster.'

She felt like stroking her head. Lady Philippa was just as out of her wits as everyone else in this castle.

Aslan suddenly got married!

Not hearing anything from hi., her embarrassment reached its peak.

'Well, he should see the heir as well, and since he has been struggling alone all this time, someone should be by his side now.'

However, because his age was not something that could be ignored, she hid her agitation and calmed down the other confused employees. Madam Philippa understood Dulcinea's curiosity, but she had already warned her not to cross the line, and as soon as the leash was pulled, she came up to the room.

After calmly saying hello, she secretly looked at the atmosphere, and she noticed that the relationship between the couple, who was more friendly than expected, was strange.

However, Philippa did not attach much importance to that part. Who is Aslan?

He is a man who hastily became the master of the North, following in the footsteps of his predecessor, Wayne Kalathi.

It was even more unimaginable to see him change 180 degrees. Aslan was the one who brought this icy land, which would not be surprising if it collapsed at any time, into one and is still holding on to this day.

Although he was merciless and determined from a young age, Aslan's personality became even more ruthless when he returned to the North to inherit the title after the Great War.

Of course, he was a human being too, so there was a time for him to redeem himself.

'Be a little generous to those who feel like they are your own people.'

In a way, she didn't know that Dulcinea grew up to be more self-indulgent because of that.

Madame Philippa swallowed her sigh.

Aslan is now married. That meant that Hestia was now his person too. It was a simple proposition. However, if Dulcinea does not realize this and continues to criticize Hestia and appeal that she is superior and close to Aslan, the problem becomes bigger.

'You too, Young Lady. Because you've been by his side for so long.'

Philippa swallowed her sigh again.

She wishes Dulcinea had looked at the situation a little more objectively. Her arms were bent inward, and it was natural that she was more concerned about Dulcinea, whom she had raised since childhood, than with Hestia, whom she had just met for the first time.

'But the master is the kind of person who would enter into an arranged marriage.'

It wasn't.

Madame Philippa dared to assert. No matter how much the King pushed for Aslan's marriage, he was a great man who would never even lift an eyebrow if he didn't like him. So, even though she was pretending like nothing had happened, Lady Philippa thought deep down that Hestia might be someone who had special meaning to Aslan.

Every year, when winter waned, Aslan went to the capital. In fact, Aslan could have made an excuse not to go. Even though he only had to send his adjutant, he was willing to travel long distances every year anyway.

Madame Philippa, like everyone else, thought that the reason was to get a little more of his gifts. But seeing that the bride was brought here today, it occurred to me that maybe there was a slightly different reason mixed in with the excuse for the journey.

Anyway, things were going the way they were, and Lady Philippa felt she had to take matters into her own hands before Aslan came forward and held Dulcinea accountable.

The people of the North valued and cherished Dulcinea as much as Aslan. If Aslan punishes such an opponent directly, the problem becomes bigger.

'Kalathi, which has been united until now, may be divided.'

It may have been an extreme idea, but it was quite possible. It does not take a huge shock, but even a small internal crack, to break down people caught in an extreme situation. And the number of people who don't look kindly on the new madam will also increase. Perhaps even the solid support for Aslan may falter.

No matter how silent she is and don't talk about what happened in this room, if Dulcinea vents her sadness outside, she will be a complete idiot.

'The Master must not appear to be scolding Lady Dulcinea.'

Madame Philippa, who had finished calculating in an instant, quickly raised her voice and struck.

"Lady Dulcinea!"

"Why!"

There will be at least some signs of shrinking. From the looks of it, she was so excited that she didn't even notice that Aslan's mood had changed.

'How can you be so immature?'

Madame Philippa suppressed the urge to sigh loudly. It was clear that Dulcinea would be a thousand times better off than being scolded by Aslan, so she put her bitter words into her mouth without hesitation.

"I told you again and again that since you are no longer a child, you have to be very careful about what you say and do, right?"

"What other mistakes did I make? Can't I even ask questions?"

Not knowing Lady Philippa's speed, Dulcinea acted as she pleased, like a child with horns. She was already feeling uncomfortable, but today there wasn't a single person who was willing to lose to her and everyone was pushing her, which was why Dulcinea felt even more sad.

With Hestia in the middle, Lady Philippa and Dulcinea took turns raising their voices on either side.

Sometimes the sounds matched, making Hestia's ears tingle. Hestia looked quite troubled. She didn't know whether to stop them or walk away. If she leaves...

'Where are I going?'

There was nowhere to go.

Didn't he hear Aslan's warning not to leave the room just before they came in?

At best, the only place Hestia could move was the Duke's room across this room.

'But I don't think that would be a very good idea.'

Rather, it would only get on Dulcinea's nerves even more.

"Whoa."

At that time, a loud sigh came from Aslan's side.

Lady Philippa and Dulcinea, who were about to continue their war of words, closed their lips at the same time. In particular, Dulcinea rolled her eyes and watched Aslan's thoughts.

It was because she finally realized that his review was unusual.

"It's not your fault."

What? Lady Philippa caught her horse.

"I just did what I normally do..."

Aslan waved his hand as if he understood, then pressed his index finger to his lips.

Dulcinea, who understood the sign telling her to shut up, pouted her lips cutely but obediently shut her mouth, not wanting to hurt his feelings further.
