ICTV - Chapter 54

ICTV - Chapter 54

I Changed The Villain

I suddenly burst into laughter. Because the current situation is funny.

“It’s not the world in the book, so is there any need to be the main character? I know that the protagonist is the most important role, but I don't necessarily want to be one. In the end, the main character is also a person created by someone, so the future is completely predetermined.

A world that is much wider and freer than here.

I, who have lived in the world, firmly believe that I'm a supporting role, while Taksha, who lives in a much narrower and more restrictive world, firmly believes that he can be anything. Ah, it was such a contradiction.

“Here, you can be special even if you’re not the main character... Miss, what’s wrong with you? Are you hurting again?”

I thought it was boring to say that everything depends on one's mind, but it was true. Some people think shooting stars are special, while others think stars are special.

There are people whose dream is to live a luxurious life, and there are people whose dream is to just live with a warm stomach and a full stomach. If you had to choose who is special among these four, you would never be able to choose me. It would be the same even if you were asked to choose a main character. Because the standard of thinking is different.

I thought, still covering my face.

If you think about the problem by putting others, not yourself, into the problem, you can quickly figure out what is wrong and what is right. It's such an amazing and strange thing.

It was only then that I began to think that I had been wrong in evaluating my own life as a supporting role while not evaluating other people's lives carelessly.

“More than anything, I’m still good enough.”

“It’s the same thing every day, isn’t it boring?”

“Boredom is something you can feel when you are at peace. Things that are not special are just as precious as things that are not special.”

"..."

I found myself reflecting on how quickly I got bored with everything here. After all, children are sometimes wiser than adults. Taksha urged me, pointing to an alleyway that had become quieter.

“Miss, it seems like it’s coming to an end, so make a wish quickly and go.”

"Okay."

Me and Taksha closed our eyes tightly. Taksha spoke out loud.

“Please allow this daily life to continue.”

When I was Ji-hye, I prayed thousands of times without hesitation for a miracle to happen and give me talent, and not long ago, I prayed hundreds of times for a quick death.

What wish should I make now?

I still want to have talent and I also want to die, but I don't think I can wish for either properly with my half-hearted mind like now.

Because I can't keep Taksha waiting. I ended up muttering the same words as Taksha.

“Please allow this daily life to continue.”

Pop.

At the same time, there was a loud noise. My eyes opened reflexively. A large, colorful flame appeared in my eyes, which were like a quiet swamp.

"Fireworks?"

“Wow, I had the same wish as you!”

Taksha suddenly fell into my arms. I watched the fireworks explode in the sky without stopping. Beryl, who was coming out of the alley, clicked his tongue, wiping the liquid that had splattered on his face with the back of his hand.

“I missed the fireworks because of these guys."

“Are you okay, Master? I can see it clearly from here!”

"Really? It's a blessing in disguise."

Beryl and Mera stood behind the bench.

“After this, let’s buy some cotton candy and eat it at the dorm.”

“Young Master, you’re the best!”

“Do you understand now? From now on, never go out alone at night.”

The four of them gathered together and watched the spectacular fireworks display.

It was a strange night, but not dark.

***

“Come on, cotton candy.”

"Exciting!"

Taksha smiled brightly and accepted the cotton candy offered by me. Taksha immediately took a piece of cotton candy and gave it to me.

“A bite, Lady!”

I took it and ate it. Taksha held it out to Beryl as well.

“Take a bite, Master!”

Beryl also took the plan, folding it in half.

“Finally, Sister Mera!”

“Thank you, Taksha.”

Although the amount of cotton candy decreased, happiness increased. Taksha filled his mouth with cotton candy.

Although it tastes monotonous, he can't stand this mirage-like taste.

“It’s really delicious!”

“I’ll buy you dozens if you want.”

“I just need one. There is no training ground here, so I can’t exercise properly.”

“It’s okay if you don’t exercise. If you keep up with that person, you’ll lose weight.”

I pointed to Beryl. Beryl, who had enjoyed a precious day, was on fire. If she thought about it, it was only half a day, but Beryl thought that since one piece was out of place, it was as if the whole thing had been rolled up.

“I stayed up all night and revised my plan to make up for yesterday.”

Beryl clenched his fists resolutely.

“Everything is perfect again.”

Beryl shouted, holding my hand.

“Let’s go, pumpkin flower!”

"...Okay."

I, who is being dragged away like it was yesterday. Mera looked at me with pitiful eyes.

“Wouldn’t it be better for Master Beryl to carry Lady Rose?”

“I thought that too for a moment.”

Beryl looked back at me, still walking quickly. I straightened my refusal, adjusting my wide-brimmed hat.

“I hate it too. It stands out too much.”

“Miss, your leg must be sore.”

“It’s okay. Let’s go quickly. Where are we today?”

“We're going to take a quick look at the market and then go to the exhibition when it opens. Every year, at the festival, a nobleman’s mansion exhibits works of art with the theme of Lovenica flowers.”

“What are you going to do at the market?”

“Of course, you should browse the stores and buy what you want. Do you need anything?”

At that time, a bookstore caught my eye. The bookstore, decorated with a Lovenica flower wreath on the door, looked quiet from the signboard, unlike the noisy market.

I pointed to the bookstore.

“I want to go there.”

"Okay."

The four of them entered the bookstore. The owner, who was dusting with a cleaning tool, spoke politely as soon as the group entered.

"Welcome."

I took a deep breath of the smell of the book. This friendly smell and atmosphere. It's still so good that it makes my heart ache. I stood in front of a bookshelf that displayed only my popular works.

“What are you looking for, Lady?”

“I just remembered that mystery novel.”

“Oh, that’s it. The Young Lady really liked it.”

“According to rumors, that author is preparing the next novel. When will that novel be published?”

Then the owner said again while shaking off the dust.

“I think it will be difficult for a while.”

"Yes?"

“Miss, you are talking about the author who wrote this mystery novel, right? Because this is the only mystery novel.”

The owner held a book high. I nodded and asked.

“Why is it difficult? Maybe there was a problem with writing.”

“The work has been completed for a long time. There are just no publishers that will accept it.”

"Why?"

"That is."

The owner lifted the glasses he was wearing with his fingers.

“They say it’s not fun.”

My heart ached again at the extremely obvious but cruel words. The owner shook his head.

“It is more difficult to continue publishing works than to debut as an author.”

"..."

“I heard that it has undergone major revisions, so I recommend that you take your time and wait while reading other authors’ works. Coincidentally, the hot new book that was sold out the day before yesterday is back in stock.”

“… What is it?”

The owner pointed to the bookshelf with a cleaning tool.

“In the first compartment there, is a white sign.”

The white spine of the book stood out immediately among the dark spines. I read the title written on the spine of the book.

'A window with sunlight coming in.'

I looked up who the author was, but no matter how hard I searched, all I could find were the initials 'B.S'. Rose pulled out the book.

“Read it. Not only nobles but even royal families enjoy reading that book.”

“Royalty?”

"Yes. He said that the royal family from the neighboring country was a big fan during the tea party. I read it once and it was really fun.”

I took the book and went to the counter. The owner said, still smiling.

“If you visit our bookstore one more time during the festival, we will give you a Lovenica flowers bookmark made as a service.”

“Bookmark?”

"Yes. So, if you have any more books to buy, you must come to our bookstore?”

The group left the bookstore despite being puzzled by the owner's strangely desperate attitude. And immediately I understood why the owner was so desperate.

“There was another bookstore.”

Just by looking at the shiny sign, it was clear that the bookstore had been built recently.

“You can’t believe they’re building a bookstore so close. There is no commercial morality.”

"I know."

I looked down at the book in my arms. There is no job in the world that is not difficult, and everyone lives in fierce competition behind the scenes. Once you finally get over one hurdle, another hurdle comes as if you've been waiting for it. As long as each person has their own goal, whether it is survival or success, this fight will continue. Regardless of whether you have talent or not, the need to live fiercely is the same.

At that time, my shoulder collided with someone.

"Sorry."

“No, it’s my fault.”

I, who had been pulled by Beryl at the sound of a familiar voice, strengthened my body. The person who was trying to pass by with the child also stopped. The two looked at each other at the same time.

“Lady Pale?”

“Lord Credian?”

The two looked at each other with surprised eyes.

***

Edgar cares for Iris very much. So much so that he takes time to go shopping with Iris at Burn Painter and take her to festivals. I remembered that description, but I had no idea it was a flag.

“This is the first time since then...?”

"Yes."

“How have you been?”

"Yes."

There was a short silence. Edgar spoke in a bright tone.

“Did you receive the invitation safely?”

"Yes."

It was a concise answer this time, but Edgar didn't mind.

“How can we meet each other at a festival with so many people?”

Edgar continued while scratching his cheek.

“Can we really call this a coincidence?”

I nodded immediately.

“You could say it was a complete coincidence.”

“Haha, actually, I thought that too. When you live in this world, all kinds of strange things happen.”

Edgar laughed cheerfully and hurriedly walked away from me.
