TAPGB - Chapter 12
The Abandoned Prince's Ghost Bride
About a month has passed since Lucian gave her the name 'Leah'.
"Leah, you're done!"
At first, there were times when I didn't know if they were calling me and I couldn't understand them, but now I'm gradually getting used to my name.
Currently, we are preparing dinner together. Leah looked at Lucian in silence.
"What's wrong? What's on my face?"
[That's not it. are you all right?!]
"Me? Why am I having a hard time?"
[That's right, you worked out right before.]
Just 15 days ago, he was walking around shaking like a newborn fawn after exercising. Where on earth has gone?
"Uh? I know, right. I feel very light today."
The boy, who was skinny and short and looked younger than his original age, has suddenly become a dashing child.
Plus, I felt like his body was getting stronger these days.
[I guess you gained some muscle. It seems like your stamina has improved.]
"These days, it's not hard to exercise. Of course, there are some difficult things, but should I say that I feel refreshed after doing them?"
[Now that I think about it, today is exactly one month. How is it? Is it worth doing some exercise?]
"Yes! I am okay!"
[Then can we do more in the future?]
"Uh..."
Lucian trailed off. Regardless of the fact that he is used to exercising, he doesn't seem to want to do it anymore.
"I... Are you going to continue to train my body from now on?"
An unexpected question was asked. I quickly answered, wondering if there was still hope.
[No. Physical training is just preparation to lay the foundation. As soon as your body is equipped to a certain level, I will begin sword training.]
"Can you teach me how to bow?"
[Of course. You saw the things in the warehouse too. I will teach you how to use the weapons there.]
Lucian's face widened. He said it was good and expressed his positive intention that he could do more in the future.
[But why did you suddenly change your mind? You didn't want to do it just a month ago.]
"That's cool!"
[Huh?]
"In the book, it said that all heroes were very strong. I'm going to be like a hero!"
Ah, I never thought there was such a disrespectful intention.
Actually, it would be much better to be motivated and motivated than to explain it a hundred times.
[What about the witch? You said you like witches the best.]
"That's right, Leah will be the witch."
[Huh? Are you talking about me?]
"The name came from a witch, she was very pretty, and she was good at using magic! It's the same with Leah."
I had no idea he was thinking like that. He somehow said that when he was asked to give a name he came up with a witch name.
Leah suspected that there was a formula in Lucian's head: 'Witch = Leah'.
"Because Leah is a witch, I will become the first Emperor and be with Leah for the rest of my life!"
Lia was dumbfounded by the sudden bombshell.
[Lucian, do you know what you just said?]
"Of course, I know! It means living with Leah."
Leah wiped her face. Of course, that's true. What does a child know?
[Are you talking about something you saw in a children's book?]
"Yes, that's right."
[Lucian, what they say about being together means that they love each other, get married, and live together.]
"We are already married."
Where should I begin to explain this? Although I felt dazed for a moment, I immediately grabbed my head.
[Yes, we got married, but it was just a joke. This was done without either of us consenting, right?]
"Yes?"
[Usually, marriage is when an adult man and woman fall in love with each other and promise to be together for the rest of their lives. We didn't get married because we just got married without any intermediate procedures.]
They call each other "bride" and "little groom", but it's almost like a joke. What's the point of getting married when there's no documentation left in the first place?
Lucian's expression became mysterious as if he had vaguely understood my words.
"Then we can love each other too."
Oh my gosh. Why on earth would it go there?
[Love should be with someone else, not with yourself.]
"No, I do not want. I'm going to do it with Leah."
[Why? Do you really want to be with me like that?]
"Yes! I don't like it unless it's Leah."
[It's because you don't know anything yet. Later, when you grow up, you meet pretty girls your age, and if you get along well with each other, your thoughts will change.]
"How does Leah know that?"
[At least I know this well because I have lived longer than you.]
Lucian puffed out his cheeks as if he didn't really like my words.
"It's not that, but Leah doesn't like me?"
[What?!]
Despite my bewildered expression, Lucian did not relax his expression at all.
***
'Leah is stupid. She doesn't even know my heart.'
Lucian grumbled as he recalled the situation from before.
[No, why does the story jump three?]
"I'm right! Are you saying you can't continue living with me because you don't like me?"
[Ha... Lucian calms down a little.]
Lucian's sigh filled with annoyance made him cry without even realizing it.
"That's Okay! I hate it now too! Leah, I hate you!'
Just like that, Lucian rushed out.
So he doesn't know where it is. It's probably one of the mansions. He wanted to hide himself in a place where Leah wasn't around, but he couldn't because he knew full well that he had nowhere to go. He will never leave this place until Leah finds him.
"No, why am I waiting? I will live here now."
Hmm, why is he thinking of living with Leqh again?
Now he can read to a certain extent, and thanks to regular exercise, he has gained a lot of stamina. Plus, since he can look over his shoulder when it comes to cooking, he should be able to do the basics. Now, even without Leah, he can do it all on his own.
"But why is it so dark here?"
He just went wherever his feet took him, but he felt like he was in an unfamiliar place. It was dark and cool, just like the first day he stayed at the mansion.
A fear that he hadn't felt since seeing Leah crept up his ankles.
"Eh, Ay... But this must be a mansion too."
Lucian tried to ignore his fear and looked around with a trembling heart.
"I'm sure I came this way, right?"
Lucian looked at where he came from. Seeing that there were stairs at the top, it seemed like he was in the basement.
"This is my first time in the basement."
It was too wide to be called a hallway, but rather narrow to be called a room. It feels a bit more eerie because it's empty, but whatever.
"There are three doors."
Lucian looked at the doors at the end of each wall. The door opposite the stairs was particularly extravagant compared to the other doors.
Lucian approached the door as if possessed.
"What is this?"
There is something engraved on the door. It looks like a painting or a letter.
Lucian tried to read the text with the skills he had recently learned, but it was not a language he could read at all.
What on earth is this if not an imperial language?
"Besides, there's no handle."
Lucian whined and tried to push or pull the door, but the door didn't budge.
After struggling for a while, Lucian finally gave up, panting.
"I guess it's no big deal, okay."
He immediately became interested in the other two doors.
Fortunately, unlike the previous door, these two doors had sturdy handles.
"Ugh! It's heavy!"
Lucian pushed the door with all his might.
The door was shaky at first, but once it started moving, it was easily pushed. It suddenly opened and If fell forward. Lucian, who had finally regained his balance, came to his senses and raised his head. And he froze.
Grooooooo-
An eerie sound rang in his ears. Stretching beyond the door was a long, long tunnel. He couldn't even think of going in there.
That was because the end was not visible, as if a ghost would come out.
"W-I'm scared Leah!"
Lucian instinctively looked for Leah, but when he saw that there was no one behind him, the blood drained from his entire body.
Only then did he realize that he had run away from Leah. Lucian swallowed his saliva and took a back step to close the door.
Squeak-Boom-!
"Woah. I'll never go in here again!"
He thought he was used to Lwah being a ghost, a ghost, a monster, etc., but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Lucian looked at the last remaining door. He was afraid that this might be similar to the previous door, but since he had decided to live here from now on, he didn't have many resources left.
This time, he was very nervous and opened the last door.
"Room?"
Fortunately, this time the room was fine. However. It was a bit dark so he couldn't see anything clearly. Lucian held the lantern and carefully looked inside. A small room like a warehouse. There was nothing in it.
"What, there's nothing. Ahh!"
As soon as he could relax, something tripped on his foot and I fell.
The lantern barely broke. However, his chin was numb because he was unable to protect himself while protecting the lantern.
"What!"
Feeling sad and annoyed for no reason, he checked his foot. He thought there was nothing, but there was a cloth spread on the floor. Lucian looked at the cloth that covered almost the entire floor and removed it. And let's light it with a lantern.
"Uh? It's the same as the one on the door."
There was a pattern carved into the floor that looked similar to the one he saw on the first door.
But for some reason, the more heooked at this, the more he got goosebumps. Lucian stumbled across the floor, feeling strange. There was something on his hand.
Lucian looked at his hand in the Iight of the lantern. It was an unknown color, either black or brown.
Starting from the point pointed out a moment ago, the center of the pattern was stained with something pitch black to the extent that the pattern could not be seen.
Feeling puzzled, Lucian went to the center and touched it. Unlike before, there was a lot of powder on it.
"Aya!"
At that time, he felt something spicy on my fingers. Lucian reflexively removed his hand and examined his own.
"Hey, it hurts. I think I got cut."
It looked like his finger had been cut by something. The cut was quite deep, and blood was dripping down his hand and onto the floor.
Lucian's hands were dirty due to the dirty dust from the floor, so he couldn't wash the wound. Lucian first wiped his wounds with his clothes. Still, the pain did not go away. The moment he goes outside and tries to wash his hands,
Ugh-
The dark room was bathed in blue light along with a strange sound.
Lucian looked around in confusion. He was glowing along the pattern on the floor. Only then did Lucian see what he had not seen.
Patterns that fill the floor. And especially, there are black marks only in the center of the pattern. He knew it instinctively. Those black marks are all blood.
The blood drained from his entire body. With that, the blue pattern turned red like the blood. And the basement shook slightly.
"I have to go out."
Lucian had a gut feeling that if he stayed here, he would be in big trouble. Lucian hurried out of the room. He gasped and looked beyond the door.
Kwasik, Kwasik-
He could see the lantern left behind being twisted into a strange shape as if it had been crushed. That wasn't all. The cloth that had been roughly put to one side was dragged into the center of the pattern, distorted hideously, and slowly disappeared.
It felt like he was being eaten by the pattern.
As if devouring both the lantern and the cloth were not enough, an ominous sound was heard from the pattern.
Grooooooo-!
Eventually, the ominous red light turned dark red, and a bloody vortex swirled throughout the room.
Even though he was out of the room, he quickly closed the door because he felt like it was going to be dangerous.
Bang! Bwang!
There was a strong gust of wind and the sound of something hitting inside the door. Lucian couldn't shake the feeling that that pattern was trying to swallow him up.
“Uh, uhm... I'm scared Leah!"
His body trembled like an aspen. Lucian cried out loud and repeatedly called out to Leah.
"Leaaah! Leah! Hehe! scared! Leah!"
He lost his lantern, so the basement was dark. It felt like he was going to die here if continued like this.
