SPMB - Chapter 90

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

“Ahahaha!”

The Empress laughed heartily.

"After all, she is my daughter. Isn't that so, Marquis Mercy!"

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"Okay. There's no way my daughter wouldn't be able to beat that lowly dancer's daughter."

For Amelia's first social debut, it was very successful. The Empress smiled with satisfaction.

"Please, Marquis, take care of the Princess. It's her first time in the social world, so she's going to be very awkward."

While laughter was blooming in the Empress's palace, the Queen's palace was full of sorrow.

"Teresa, don't do that, just get up and take a sip of water."

"Your Majesty..."

After Prince Cassil's scandal, Theresa suffered from anxiety. Then, when she heard of the humiliation that Lilienne had suffered, she fainted once again.

"It's because I'm not good at it."

Tears fell from Theresa's eyes.

"If I had been a woman worthy of His Majesty, neither Cassil nor Lilienne would have been so ignored."

The Emperor's face darkened. However, he was too hasty to comfort her.

Because it was true.

"Argon, that's why he gave up his throne long ago. Because he knows it won't work. He already knows that since he has a lowly mother, he cannot inherit the throne, so he must be leaving."

"Don't say that."

"Hu hu hu, my poor children."

After crying for a long time, Theresa eventually fainted again. The Emperor nursed her through the night and returned to his office in the morning.

How did this happen?

Not long ago, the situation wasn't this bad. Lilienne reigned as the flower of society. Cassil was to return once his exile was over.

'Kanna Valentino.'

It's hard to believe, but she was at the center of everything. The woman cured Amelia's skin disease, changed the course of her social life, and pushed Cassil to the brink, causing him to lose his wrist.

The Emperor was deep in thought. Then he suddenly found a letter on the table.

It was a letter from Orsini Addis.

***

One day when peaceful days continued. The news hit the mansion like a lightning bolt.

"What?"

Kanna, who was making medicine using magic stones in an underground laboratory, almost dropped the magic core containing condensed magic power.

"Leah, what did you say just now?"

"Orsini..."

Leah carefully concluded her words while observing Kanna's thoughts.

"They say Orsini has gone missing."

***

Orsini was, as always, handling matters related to the Black Fog.

The most recent destination was Paleon Island. A Black Fog appeared there and led the knights away.

In the meantime, letters were sent periodically to report the situation.

<The knights were wiped out.>

<Something is strange here.>

<I will explain the details later. But please do not send any more articles.>

<You must never send it.>

At the end of the letter that seemed to have been written in an urgent situation, contact was suddenly cut off.

A shadow fell over Addis Mansion.

"Hu hu hu hu , my son... Oh my gosh. My poor son."

Chloe was lying in bed in pain, and Isabelle, who was on probation, also said she cried every night.

"I guess brother Orsini is dead! What would I do without my brother?"

Speaking of Orsini Addis, he was a bastard with the opposite personality of Kalen.

'Kalen is a model student. He's Sincere, he doesn't waste anything.'

On the other hand, Orsini had a strong single-minded tendency and did not even pay attention to areas he was not interested in.

So, since he was a boy, he often skipped liberal arts classes and was rude to everyone.

Nevertheless, he never caught the attention of the Duke of Addis. Even though he committed numerous indecent acts, even the Emperor evaluated him generously, because....

'It's the monster of monsters.'

It is said that his swordsmanship and his brute force completely resemble those of Alessandro in his youth. He was a guy who was even evaluated as being able to surpass Alessandro Addis once he grows further.

Orsini has gone missing.

And the knights of the Addis family who left with Orsini were wiped out.

"As expected, Lord Orsini is also dead."

"Shh! Be quiet.

"Who will listen?"

"What if there's no one there?"

"Still, be careful. If the Lady hears..."

"How can she hear you when she's sick?"

Instead, Kanna is listening.

'Everyone says the same thing.'

Kanna closed the window. She found it no longer fun to eavesdrop on the servants talking outside the window.

'Orsini is dead?'

That weird guy is dead. She felt strange. To be a little more honest.

 'I feel a little good... "

Kanna hated everyone in this family.

'Oh, except Lucy.'

Among them, the person she dislikes the most is Orsini. Kanna hated Kallen, but it couldn't compare to her hate for Orsini.

'Is it because it doesn't feel real? It's not that good."

At that time, Lucy came.

“Kanna sister.”

Lucy's eyes were bright red and swollen as if she had shed tears.

"What's wrong, Lucy?"

"Sister."

"What's wrong?"

Lucy cried silently.

"What's going on, Lucy?"

Kanna stroked Lucy's trembling back.

"Sister, actually..."

Lucy, who cried for a long time, confessed in tears.

"I killed my brother."

"..."

What does that mean? Kanna stared at Lucy grimly.

"Oh, I was scared of him, Orsini, so I prayed to God that I never wanted to see him again."

"..."

"So I guess God granted my wish. What should I do now?"

Oh my, naive girl.

Kanna held back her laughter. It's rude to laugh while the other person is seriously crying. Kanna lifted Lucy up and sat her on her lap.

"It's okay, Lucy."

"B-but..."

"It's not your fault."

"But I prayed to God."

"Do you want Orsini to die?"

Then Lucy shook her head.

"That's not it. Oh, I'm scared, so please don't let me meet him..."

"Why? Could it be that Orsini was harassing you?"

No way, that damn bastard! Did he hit Lucy like he did her?

'He's not even a child. Does it mean to say that he still does such trash when he grows up?'

Orsini bullied himself as a child. Very viciously. If, just in case, some crazy person wants to defend Orsini's actions, he will use his young age as an excuse. At that time, Orsini was young and didn't know anything. He was ignorant when he was young.

'Of course, it's bullshit.'

But what if he bullies a little girl now that he's an adult? Even the spirit of the Great Temple would not be able to contain it.

"No, it's not like that."

Fortunately, Lucy denied it.

"Brother Orsini has never bullied me. Just... Just ignore it."

But Lucy must have been scared of even humming. Orsini was a little bigger than the big Kalen, had a very muscular body, and above all, his eyes were very fierce.

Just making eye contact gave her the feeling of being stabbed with a knife. It was enough to become an object of fear for young Lucy.

"So, because I was scared, I prayed that I didn't want to meet him, but I never thought God would really listen."

"It's not like that, Lucy,"

Kanna stroked Lucy's purple curly hair.

"God does not listen to human prayers."

"... Yes?"

"Well, let me correct it. He never listens easily. So he probably didn't hear your prayers either."

As Kanna was not talking, I started to regret it. This story was told to comfort Lucy, but aren't those words too harsh for a young girl?

"Anyway, even if Orsini dies, it won't be because of your wishes."

If his wish had been granted so easily, Orsini would have died a thousand times over. One of his many prayers as a child was,

 'I wish Orsini would disappear.'

But Orsini did not disappear.

'Rather, I disappeared from here.'

So, did you get your wish in a different way? Kanna shook off her distracting thoughts and comforted Lucy.

"And Orsini wouldn't have died. S o there's no need to blame yourself like that."

  1. it was better that her prayer was answered like that, though. Even if Orsini disappeared, she'd still be surrounded by evil people. On top of that, she learned what a loving family actually is and obtained her medical knowledge.
