SPMB - Chapter 103

My Body Has Been Possessed By Someone

It was a dark room, the moonlight was faint. Darkness cast a thick veil over Orsini's face. However, the green eyes that were quietly looking down at her flashed clearly.

"Do you know that you will be burned at the stake tomorrow?"

"Ah, that's what you came to say."

He finally opened his mouth. Kanna shrugged her shoulders.

"Well. Whether it will hang on the tree or not remains to be seen."

"You talk as much as you like. Do you think someone will protect you?"

Phew.

Kanna couldn't hold back her laughter. Who is going to protect me?

"Even if someone protects me, I know for sure that it won't be you."

"Are you waiting for that bastard called Oppa?"

"..."

This son of a bitch is real.

Kanna wiped the smile off her face. Orsini smiled in satisfaction at the agitation in her expression that finally occurred.

"Are you going to go to the house you want to go to with that bastard?"

Kanna clenched her fists. Every word he said ignited a fiery fire in her heart.

"Stop it, Orsini."

There are some things that should not be touched.

For Kanna, it was the world of Joo-hwa.

"So you seem so relaxed? Because someone is going to come pick you up?"

"Shut up."

"Let's find out who that great savior Oppa is. I'm sure it's not Duke Sylvienne Valentino."

Kannq couldn't respond as usual. She couldn't help but laugh at every single sarcastic comment.

It was a topic that could not be laughed off.

Kanna lived her life trying not to think. The things she loved.

She never wanted to forget that world, but at the same time, she didn't want to think about it either.

Because Kanna doesn't want to be weak. Because this is not the time to be weak.

Because she knows that the moment she opens that precious yet sad box of memories, only transparent loneliness will come. But people like Orsini are ruining that desperate effort.

"Stop talking."

"Why? Do you think you're going to cry like a fool again?"

For some reason, Orsini seemed even angrier at his own reaction. He simply couldn't understand.

"Yes, it was quite a sight to see you crying and making a fuss about wanting to go home. It's so funny that you're screaming like an abandoned baby and calling for her mom."

Kanna's face gets hot. Her head feels tingly.

The more Kanna's face became distorted and her eyes grew hotter, the more Orsini smiled as if he was experiencing cruel pleasure.

"If you go to that house, will your mother be there? The woman who gave you that black hair?"

He bowed deeply. He faced eye level with Kanna, who was far below him. His green eyes twinkled evilly.

And he said.

"You won't be able to go home."

Those words are extremely poisonous.

"You may have entered Addis on your own feet, but you will not be able to leave."

She couldn't go home, she couldn't go home.

Kanna can't go home.

Kanna can't go.

'Perhaps forever.'

That cruel truth cut her body in half. Kanna's lips trembled at the shattering pain.

Orsini's expression as he watched him looked very angry, but he also seemed happy at the same time.

Kanna slapped him in the face.

Wow!

But Orsini's face did not even waver. There was no movement as if he had been hit by dust carried by the wind. On the contrary, he laughed as if it was very amusing.

"Okay, now I understand."

He slowly lifts his waist. And he enjoyed Kanna's gaze as if he was going to chew her up.

Hatred. Anger. Hate. He knew that was Kanna's true feelings.

Only that.

"For you, Addis is still hell."

Among the people Kanna had been chasing so hard, there was no name he recognized. Neither Kalen nor Sylvien were there.

"Actually, Kalen is probably shit too. Right, filth?"

Damn, Kanna's tongue hurt the moment he said those words. It felt like the tip of her tongue was rotting away, but because she didn't want to admit the pain, Orsini became more sarcastic.

"It looks like you're smiling pretty and playing with Kalen."

She'd rather cut her tongue than admit it.

"I caught you."

With a tap, he pushed Kanna's frowning eyebrows with his finger.

"Let's get along well from now on. At my house."

Then he raised the corners of his mouth.

"Unless you are burned at the stake tomorrow."

Kanna closed her eyes. She took a moment to take a deep breath.

And then she opened her eyes. She smiled brightly. She did as he said, very pretty, just like when she played with Kallen.

"Orsini, are you really jealous?"

At that moment, his finger that touched her forehead became stiff.

Kanna sharply grabbed that finger. She clenched his fist.

"Are you worried that your lovely sister will go somewhere else? Are you angry?"

Then Orsini burst into wild laughter.

"Crazy bitch."

"That's what I want to tell you, you crazy bastard."

Kanna roughly shook off his fingers.

"You spouted nonsense, so I just responded with nonsense. How is it? Fun?"

"... I'm not having fun."

Then he wiped the smile off his face. He muttered in a very bored voice.

"You're such a boring girl."

"... Go away."

"Damn you son of a bitch."

After sending Orsini off, Kanna was momentarily conflicted about whether she should cry at this time.

She pretended to be calm, but it hurt. It hurt a lot. Orsini dug deep into her wounds and crushed it.

It hurt so much that she wondered if she would cry, or if she could cry for a moment and feel better.

'Damn, I'm so angry I can't cry!'

However, the moisture around Kanna's eyes that had almost formed quickly dried up.

As expected, sobbing while covered in a blanket was not to her liking. On the contrary, it was better to curse the person who made you feel bad.

'Orsini bastard.'

She won't leave him alone. You devilish bastard.

'I'm going to kill you. Definitely, someday, definitely. I will kill you, Orsini.'

But now is not the time to be consumed by hatred. Kanna looked down at her heart from a very high place. She ordered herself.

The priority now is to resolve matters related to Rachel.

'That comes first. Don't ruin your work by being distracted by cheap emotions.'

Don't let Orsini ruin her mood.

'Okay, I'm going to sleep well today. I can't have nightmares because of that kid.'

Orsini can't ruin anything for her.

Her plans, her mood, her night.

As Kanna thought about that and took a deep breath, the heightened emotions gradually subsided. And she went to sleep.

Fortunately, Kanna was able to sleep as soundly as she wanted.

***

The day of the purification ceremony finally arrived.

It was clear weather with the rain clouds clearing for the first time in a very long time. It would be a good day to burn at the stake, Rachel thought.

Waaah!”

“Saintess, Saintess!”

"Please purify the demon!"

"Please catch the Black Apostle, Saintess!"

"Please protect the village!

On a sunny day, the whole town gathered in the square and shouted.

Rachel's sense of mission burned fiercely in their desire.

'Yes, their peace depends on me.'

The lives and peaceful daily lives of those villagers depend on her own hands.

"Are you people who have suffered from mania?"

Dozens of people stood in an orderly manner on the podium.

No one had a fearful face. They are confident because they know that they are not a black apostle.

'Most of them are probably serious, but some of them are probably acting.'

Rachel's eyes moved to the side.

Next to the podium. There was a huge tent set up there. Standing under the tent were the lord, Sir Jerome, knights, servants, and Kanna.

Normally, she would have to stand on this podium with everyone else, but she was given consideration considering that she was a noble.

However, no matter how noble she is, she cannot deceive her own eyes. The moment Kanna made eye contact, her heart fluttered ominously.

"Miss Rachel has no powers."

"You are mistaken."

"Your illusion killed someone."

At that time, Kanna smiled brightly. Then she walked out of the tent on her own.

... What?

Rachel watched her movements.

Kanna was walking up to the stage on her own feet. People's attention was focused on the appearance of a beautiful woman.

Kanna looked down at the audience and said.

"As you may know, I am a member of the council sent by His Majesty the Emperor."

Rachel frowned. But for some reason, most of the residents looking up at Kanna had very favorable views.

It was an incomprehensible reaction.

The people of the island village are very hostile to foreigners and even to the nobles of the empire.

'But why are you looking at me like that?'

This was the look in Kanna's eyes as she had been giving away free food to the villagers for several days, but Rachel didn't know this.

Kanna continued calmly.

"During my stay here, I studied the town's madness in detail and came to one conclusion. You'll probably be shocked..."

Rachel was embarrassed. Could it be that she was trying to say something strange to herself...!

Rachel wanted to keep her mouth shut right away, but people were already focused on her. Even Rachel's father, the lord!

"Before that, let me ask you one question. Has anyone had about of mania recently?"

Kanna asked, leisurely looking around at the villagers.

"No one will be here, at least not in the last few days."
