IDEFYEM - Chapter 12

IDEFYEM - Chapter  12

Black Man, I'll Do Everything For You Except Marriage!

"All right. His Highness contacted you and threatened you!"

Why didn't I think of that until now?

"Oh my god, that's right. It's strange that I've done something like this and he remains silent."

He calmed me down as I was at a loss with guilt and fear for having dragged Kael into this farce.

"Enri, it's okay. It's not like that."

"You don't have to lie to me, Kael. Just be honest."

"... I appreciate you thinking of me, but you really don't."

It didn't look like a lying face. It looks a little more absurd than that.

Oh, was it really a mistake?

While I was a little embarrassed, Kael laughed and shook his head.

"I'm afraid of what will come out of your mouth if I go any further."

"Are you sure not?"

"Not really."

But it was a situation that could easily have been mistaken. I looked a little embarrassed and watched him get up from the table.

Kael came to my seat, pulled out a chair, and opened his mouth.

"I think we've finished eating, so it would be better to move to a place and talk. You will have to have a busy schedule starting today."

"Starting today... Oh, you mean your business-related schedule?"

"It's you, not me, Enri."

Is there anything I need to do before attending the prom? I looked at Kael with an expression of confusion.

"We will visit the downtown area together this evening."

I had just left the restaurant and was walking down the hallway. Surprised by his thorough explanation, I asked back.

"Suddenly?"

"You left your luggage behind in a hasty move because of my insistence. I think you might need a new dress."

I narrowed my eyes and looked at Kael's expression. Am I really misunderstanding, or am I lying to save face?

"I didn't leave that behind..."

"It's my fault. I was so nervous right after seeing your cheek."

"That was really the only clothes I had...."

"It's my responsibility to encourage you to hesitate, so don't feel burdened."

This makes it clear.

The truth didn't matter to that man from the beginning!

"You said you would marry me, give me a room, and now even buy me clothes."

I said while looking back at KaeI's strange behavior one by one.

"What's wrong? Like someone who is afraid that I might run away."

"...That is an accurate point."

"Yes?"

"Well, it's no big deal."

Kael, who slightly averted his gaze, cleared his throat and began to speak in earnest.

"You left the Duke's residence trusting only in me. I have a duty to ensure you a better life than before."

"Oh, no. Nothing like that in particular...."

"Besides, aren't we in a position where we need to spread rumors? There can be no better social entertainment than visiting the dressing room together."

After listening to it, I realized that it made sense. While I was halfway through, Kael spoke with a soft voice.

"I want to see you in your new clothes, Enri."

As soon as I saw Kael's smiling face, my ears heated up.

"Then I will prepare the carriage for you this evening."

Oh, well.

Obviously, it started with me persuading him to attend the banquet. Now that I see it, I may have been the one who got caught up.

I took a deep sigh and spoke as if to show my pride one last time.

"Kael, it may sound absurd now, but... I think I might make a lot of money soon, right?"

I plan to move through the social world with my familiar and take over the Duke family.

"I will definitely pay you back later. Everything I owe now."

As I clenched my fist and made a firm determination, Kael made a strange expression and said.

"You always think about giving back as much as you get."

"Isn't that normal?"

"I don't like it because I feel like you're going to leave forever one day."

It was the first time a man mentioned his likes and dislikes so clearly.

I asked a question, a little embarrassed.

"Do you want me to stay?"

"Well, I don't know if I will be alive or not in a year...."

"Ah, another ominous sound!"

I was fed up and stopped talking to him. Kael smiled and naturally led me to the front of the room.

As we talked, it seemed like we had already arrived.

"See you later in the evening, Enri."

I thought as I walked in and closed the door. Now that I think about it, I think I may have blurted out what I said earlier.

'If you're still alive in a year, do you still want to be with me?'

Hmm... No, that would be such a ridiculous idea.

When I returned to the room and reported my schedule to Sarah, I received an unexpected response.

"You're going to the dressing room?"

On rare occasions, there was light in Sarah's eyes.

"Why, what's wrong?"

"This is your first time visiting the dressing room! You always received Lady Martha's clothes as if you had inherited them."

Seeing her happier than me somehow made me feel better. When I think about it that way, it feels special again.

"Now that I think about it, this is not the time. Hurry up and get ready."

"Why is everyone so different today... Do I need to get ready to go to the dressing room?"

"It's obvious. You have to prepare the most when you go to the dressing room."

Sarah narrowed her eyebrows as if she had heard an incredible question.

"Don't you know what happens if you go to the dressing room while looking like you're in trouble?"

"Uh... well?"

"It's common to be sold clothes you don't like, or ignored without even talking to you. It's a very big deal."

I thought about the somewhat suspicious description for a moment and then asked.

"Sarah, have you ever been to the dressing room?"

"No."

"Where did you hear that just now?"

"It often appears in street plays or in the romance novels I often read."

It was clearly an unreliable source, but I was confused by Sarah's confident face.

"Miss, do you really not believe me?"

"Uh, no!"

My doubts were short-lived, and Sarah's harsh gaze was powerful. Quickly admitting defeat, I followed her lead and sat down in front of the dressing table.

"Hey, Sarah."

By the way, I'm concerned about Sarah's sparkling eyes earlier. When I first saw her, I thought Sarah was 20 years old after all.

"Shall we go to the dressing room together later?"

"That would be great, but...."

Sarah, who looked like she was thinking for a moment, shook her head.

"I have personal matters to attend to. I need to find some people...."

"Oh, I understand! I see!"

Seeing her expression turn cold for an instant, I hastily changed the topic of conversation.

Since you're the person the evil woman is looking for, it's better not to get involved, even if you don't know what it is.

Meanwhile, Sarah hummed and started playing with my hair.

"I always wanted to trim your hair just a little bit. Even something like this was not easily permitted in the Dukedom.”

Sarah seemed to be nervous because she was afraid of ruining my hair, so she explained kindly and busily moved her hands.

"Do not worry. If you cut a little here, the curls will come alive and become fuller."

"Wow, it's real."

"And if you solve this..."

"Oh my God, my face is so small it's going to disappear."

The workmanship was so excellent that it was suspected that magic had been secretly used. The naturally curly hair that had been trimmed a few times was quite gorgeous.

"Would you like to touch up your makeup while I'm away?  I would like to raise the corners of your eyes slightly today."

"Huh!"

Feeling different just by changing my hair a little, I answered energetically.

This was also proof that I was free from the Duke's suffocating control. There is no need to be swayed by him anymore.

"Hehe, I'm going to make you like a naughty cat."

Sarah, who was equally excited, touched my face as if she were creating a piece of art.

By the time evening came, when I felt drowsy, she had declared the end.

"It's perfect."

As soon as I opened my sleepy eyelids at Sarah's words, the pink eyes seen in the mirror widened. The next moment, I faced the mirror and spontaneously said that line.

"Is this really me?"

What kind of magic did you do?

Enrica was definitely pretty, but her somewhat timid appearance had completely changed.

Flushed cheeks and transparent skin like a well-groomed Young Lady. The corners of the mouth are raised proudly and the lips are plump. Even the hair flowed down like a pink sea.

"If this continues, I will be treated like a VIP rather than a hard sell."

As I muttered, Sarah looked at me happily from behind and said,

"But to me, you will always be a puppy."

"No, there's no need to...."

It was when I was concentrating for a long time and looking in the mirror.

A familiar low-pitched sound was heard along with a knock on the door.

"Enri."

"Kael? Wow, it's already evening."

I was so caught up in dressing up that I even forgot the time of my upcoming appointment.

I was about to open the door right away but hesitated when I realized what I was doing.

I was once again embarrassed to face him dressed differently than usual.

"Ugh, Sarah. What do we do?"

"I know, right."

"I don't want to show myself like this."

I whispered and an unexpected answer came back. I asked with anxious eyes.

"Why? Is it strange to see you like this? The hair I trimmed, the face I touched... It would be a shame to have to share this with others."

Clink.

The image of the original villainess, which was still quite strong, seemed to have been completely shattered.

After hearing her address, I stood up with slightly cool eyes.

"Thank you. We can open it now."

As soon as I walked over and opened the door, I was met with blue eyes staring at me. Kael's deep eyes were so slightly curved that they were not noticeable.
